implantation bleeds and stuff

You do know me, it's just that I don't feel ready to talk about any pg issues openly yet - this soon after my mc I feel uncharacteristically reticent!

Since my last period we suddenly got broody, after having said we'd wait some time. So we did the tests, worked out my dates and did the deed last Saturday.

Now, I am not sure exactly when my last period started, but I would expect my next one to be 14 days after ovulation - surely whatever the length of your cycle, it is always 14 days after ovulation? So a bit of bleeding (stringy brown bits) yesterday - is that an implantation bleed? Is an implantation bleed usually accompanied by lower back period type pains? Or is all this in my head?

popsycal · 15/08/2004 19:26

ssshhh · 15/08/2004 19:27

did you do it deliberately nutty to bring out the lurkers?

OP posts:
MummyToSteven · 15/08/2004 19:29

ssshhh - not just a nosey cow lurker, honest - thought it might be a question about implantation bleeds that I could answer - of course I am being a nosey cow lurker for continuing to look at the thread, of course!

nutcracker · 15/08/2004 19:29

Wish i could say i had done it for that reason ssshhh, cos that would be clever.

Think i just set the record for the shortest ever time succesfully being undercover

Excuse me while i bang my head on my desk

MummyToSteven · 15/08/2004 19:30

but what about the posters that meant to put another name in on the very first post but forget to - I'm sure I have seen that on threads before!

ssshhh · 15/08/2004 19:31

It is a question about implanation bleeds, MTS. But we are all being totally inept at keeping undercover!
Do you have any advice on my original question?

popsycal · 15/08/2004 19:36

I statered a thread in disguise but it didnt work haha

popsycal · 15/08/2004 19:36

might try to find it - can you tell i am bored?

ssshhh · 15/08/2004 19:36

[stage whispers >tltw, I was trying not to make nutty feel so awful about blowing her own cover in less than two minutes

OP posts:
ssshhh · 15/08/2004 19:38

Mind you, with both of my previous pg it wasn't a lack of periods that made be suspect I was pg, it was doing totally mad and scatty things. So maybe nutty really is pg!

OP posts:
popsycal · 15/08/2004 19:39

hahaa - here it is nutty - dont feel so bad!!!

CP3 · 15/08/2004 19:42

pmsl

MummyToSteven · 15/08/2004 19:47

I think that it is less usual for an implantation bleed to be accompanied by pains, tho not impossible (I had a bleed at about 5 weeks pg, which was either an implantation bleed or threatened m/c, noone ever figured out which - it was like a 3 day light period, with cramps). I think that an implantation bleed tends to be more like spotting tho than like mucus. I don't think there is any way you can test till a few days before AF - and would only use First Response if testing that early (don't think any other tests are accurate before AF is due)

nutcracker · 15/08/2004 19:48

Ahh thanks Popsy I feel alot better now

popsycal · 15/08/2004 19:49

glad to be of assistance nutty!!!
I think i win the shortes time for being incognito haha

ssshhh · 15/08/2004 19:51

Thanks MTS. I had bleeding at 4, 6, 8, 9, and 12 weeks with my first pg and at 4 weeks with my second (which only lasted 9 weeks anyway). You're right - the only answer is to wait. I will try to hang out as long as possible!

OP posts:
MummyToSteven · 15/08/2004 19:55

ssshhh - any idea roughly when next AF is due?

ssshhh · 15/08/2004 19:58

see my post of 4:15 this afternoon (basically I don't have a clue)

MummyToSteven · 15/08/2004 20:00

ah I see - and sympathise - my usual cycle could be anything from 4 - 6 weeks, with the very very occasional 8 weeker thrown in! where are all these textbook women with clockwork 28 days cycles

Scaredstupid · 17/08/2004 13:03

I am using an alias as well. Not too sure how to do it properly so maybe it won't even work! Think I know who ssshhh is but only because I am also a lurker... I sure hope that it is indeed an implantation bleed; that would be so great for you. I have just experienced something similar and the timing in my case is all off. I am on day 15 of my first cycle post m/c. Is it possible to have this happen at ov?
