Here's the new thread. This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle- this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Kicking off with a roll call:

@Lilimum4 so sorry af came and DH didn't get it the magnitude of what that means for us. I completely agree that I don't think they understand that it feels like a another loss for us. I think explaining it to him is a good idea.
@YellowDaffodils86 how are you hun? Where in cycle are you?
@RedRobin7 so sorry you are having spotting, I'm sure it's so scary. If it helps brown blood is quite common and is not necessarily a bad sign but defi call the EPU and ask for a scan. Hope it's all ok.
@DaisyMay25 it will happen for you- I know it!!
@Cakelaur I've had friends around this weekend who just left so catching on the thread. So lovely to see you here alot today and I'm loving your positive thinking idea.
I am grateful that I married my soul mate who makes me laugh every day. He is my best friend, the best husband and the best dad- supportive and wonderful in all aspects of life. I am grateful for my mischievous cheeky monkey of a son whose smile lights up my life. I have amazing friends, a job that I love wgre i get to help people, an adopted country which I adore plus my home country which I also love, my parents whilst on the other side of the world will be here in 2 weeks and a comfortable lifestyle which allows travelling and good food! I am so grateful for all of you and the support I've found here for the past 7 months and I definitely agree about the NHS! My ectopic and MMC were hard enough but in Oz would have probably bankrupted us! And the sunshine !!! Although I'm so hot today that I'm sweating all over the place 😧

@Boboelephant thanks hun. I know I shouldn't get my self all up set about TTC but its difficult. But @Cakelaur is right and I'm adopting that mantra and I'm gonna say it to myself every time I'm winding myself up

Cakelaur · 08/07/2018 18:42

I love that everyone is jumping on the positive thinking vibe.

@Boboelephant I didn't know you were and Aussie. I'm technically a kiwi (born but not raised) both my parents are kiwis but luckily I have them here with me now.
I just missed you guys and wanted to come spread some love to you all. Plus re-reading what I wrote at the beginning of the year really brought it all back and reminded me of the pain that all of you lovely ladies are still going through.

It's also nice to see so many supportive amazing partners in our lives. You here so many stories about douche bag guys and looks like we can all say we've got good 'uns.

Boboelephant · 08/07/2018 19:12

@Cakelaur haha yeh I've never said it before! NZ is lovely- have you been? We are all very lucky to have good men, although it is also testament to a group of great ladies!

@Boboelephant where in oz are you from? My dad lives in Brisbane! It's a beautiful place!

He did live in Auckland, NZ for 10 years prior to that too

Boboelephant · 08/07/2018 20:05

@DaisyMay25 I'm from Melbourne, it's gorgeous! Do you go out there often?

OP posts:
Tefiti2 · 08/07/2018 21:07

Guys! Tearing up at your gratitude posts - we WILL all have healthy babies!
Is anyone else testing tomorrow? I’m 9dpo today and my boobs are like rocks, getting hot flashes too (was the same with both previous pregnancies) BUT I am a serial symptom spotter so it could go either way 😂

Cakelaur · 08/07/2018 21:07

@Boboelephant my mum is from Christchurch, my dad from wellington, most of my cousins are in Auckland, I was born in Tauranga. I go every 5 years or so. Hoping to go with new bub in feb and take hubby. My mum and dad go back at least once a year. My god parents are in Melbourne.

Cakelaur · 08/07/2018 21:22

Just come downstairs to find my OH singing at the top of his voice to Disney songs! 😂🤣 I love this man so much!! He MAY have had a bottle of wine!

DaisyMay25 · 08/07/2018 21:58

@Cakelaur haha gotta love Disney!

@Boboelephant I've only been twice but mine and DHs birthday are both in April so I think we're going to go next April (if I'm not heavily pregnant by then) and make it a yearly thing. Do you go back often?

KnitKitty · 08/07/2018 22:24

If anyone wants to join my positive thread you're welcome to:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3277012-Staying-Sane-Positivity-during-TTC-journey

It's there to read through for anyone struggling to feel positive but wanting to read some positive posts too, you don't have to post yourself if you're not feeling up to it. It's really helped me refocus to more positive things after MC and recent CP.

fnej01 · 08/07/2018 22:55

Am loving the gratitude posts so here goes.

I have an amazing OH who no matter how much cr@p I sling at him, I know I am the centre of his universe and him mine. I am so grateful to find my soulmate. With OH comes a 12 year old stepson, whom I love to bits and am very fortunate has accepted me as a second mum. I have an annoying (but loveable) black and white cat that has been a great cuddle through the last few weeks. I have a successful career, and we have a lovely home, with enough money to enjoy a good life. I have some amazing friends who have been around for nearly 30 years now and who continue to support me through thick and thin. All in all I have a very blessed life.
Thank you all for the ongoing perspective and support. Wishing you all well. X

SunshineSparklesSmiles · 09/07/2018 07:13

Well my AF arrived overnight. I'm so disappointed as I really wanted to believe those positive tests. I didn't think AF would arrive if I still had HCG in my system so I guess there's a small chance this was a chemical. I can't bear to think of it like that so will try and do my best to regroup ready for next time. All the best to everyone waiting on their BFPs x

MisBit1 · 09/07/2018 07:23

@sunshineSparklesSmiles so sorry AF has got you. All the hugs to you Mother Nature is a bitch.

@cakelaur that blog post had me in tears but what a man singing Disney songs!

I’m forever grateful for my amazing DH and my gorgeous DS they both make me smile and laugh everyday.

I’m on CD32 my cycle pre miscarriage were 29 days so my app had me due on on Friday. It’s only today I’ve reached 14DPO so I’ve not considered myself late yet. My big question this morning (and it’s quite a pressing one cos I’m desperate to pee!) is to test now or not to test?

Ideally I’d like to leave it a bit later. I don’t feel pregnant but I don’t feel like af is coming either. However there is slap cheek going around at school so I want to know before Wednesday when I’m next in...I might just chicken out and wait until tomorrow.

MisBit1 · 09/07/2018 07:43

I couldn’t wait for a response and I didn’t chicken out. The top two are a different batch to the bottom one which I did first perhaps less sensitive? Omg I can’t stop shaking.

TTC after pregnancy loss- thread 23 🐧🐧
HidCat · 09/07/2018 07:49

@MisBit1 can you get a high street test today? They all look positive to me but with partial lines it probably best to pick up a different type for confirmation. Tentative congratulations!

Loving all the positivity on here ladies. Sending extra positive thoughts your way and hoping for more sticky beans this month. xxx

Cakelaur · 09/07/2018 08:21

@MisBit1 I'd say that's one big fat positive!!! But defo grab an frer or a digital to double check. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@fnej01 aww you have similar to me. Mine came with a wonderful 12yr old stepson. Who (lucky us) is hitting teenage years early!! Hahaha!!

YellowDaffodils86 · 09/07/2018 08:23

@littleemma1 congratulations, you looked lovely. Also find it strange to see the actual person behind the screen name, strange in a good way.
I have celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary this weekend, time flies by!

@Boboelephant hey, ohh your an aussie, oddly that doesn't surprise me!
I have been working with an aussie vet for a while now, love hearing about things from home from her. She has currently gone back for a family event, and is going to bring me some tim tams back!
I am approaching FW i think, thats going by app. Im still waiting for my bbt thermometer to arrive, bit late in the day now though.
Iv had sore bbs since af this cycle and abundant creamy cm. its driving me crazy that i seem to lack consistency in this area!

@Cakelaur nice to see you👋🏻
Hows bean? How fr along are you?
Thank you for your blog piece, it definitely sounded familiar.

It seems most men don't really get it, my dh is the same.

@RedRobin7 how are things, hopefully all
Is ok, like others have said, brown is common. Xx

@sweetpea0318 glad you liked the link. I enjoy reading her blogs, although its a different issue, alot of feelings are similar.

Things im grateful for:
That i CAN have children and as far as i know have no real challenges in ttc.
My family- mine and in laws, not all perfect but then what is.
My career
Definitely the nhs
Friends- real and virtual 😜

YellowDaffodils86 · 09/07/2018 08:25

@MisBit1 - I forgot, congratulations!! Thats a positive! Fx for a sticky bean for you. Xx

littleemma1 · 09/07/2018 08:32

@YellowDaffodils86 I suddenly realised I have totally OUTED myself now haven’t I 😂😂😂

KnitKitty · 09/07/2018 08:33

Sorry it wasn't meant to be this month SunshineSparklesSmiles but I hope this new cycle brings you good luck!

MisBit1 All three of those look positive! Grin As HidCat said, maybe try with a different brand later or tomorrow morning to be doubly sure. Tentative congratulations!!! :)

Hi Hidcat how are you doing?

RedRobin7 Let us know what EPU say when you ring them today. Holding your hand. xxx

Mistymeow · 09/07/2018 08:40

@cakelaur thanks so much for your post. How are you feeling with your new pregnancy?

@redrobin7 thinking of you. Hope the epu will give you a reassurance scan soon. As others have said spotting is common and also I know many women who had successful pregnancies with no symptoms in the first trimester.

I'm totally grateful for DH. He took a week off after my miscarriage to look after me and followed me around everywhere. He's a sweetie.

I'm 6dpo and have light cramps and temps are high but I'm just ignoring it all because I don't trust my body!

RedRobin7 · 09/07/2018 09:01

Thank you all for your kind and reassuring messages. I phoned EPU and they won't see me without a referral - they just need a call from my doctor. Doctor won't refer me without seeing me 🙄 So I've got to go to a sit and wait clinic at 11:30. The EPU closes at lunch time so I know I won't be seen today. Had more brown spotting this morning so I'm even more worried. I had spotting around this time last time I was pregnant but it only lasted for about an hour!

Blondcat · 09/07/2018 09:11

@misbit1 tentative congratulations they look positive to me too.

Boboelephant · 09/07/2018 09:27

@Tefiti2 did you test??
@Cakelaur haha you've got the island covered! Love a Disney tune- your DH sounds like a champ. Ooh Feb will be awesome!
@DaisyMay25 we try and go back at least once a year. This year we have three trips! Hope you get to go in April with a new born!
@SunshineSparklesSmiles sorry af got you. It must be really hard especially after getting your hopes up but at least it means your body is regulating after MC. You can get af with a small amount of hcg in your system. Hopefully this is your fresh start now.
@MisBit1 congratulations!!!
@YellowDaffodils86 haha yep I do sound like an Aussie. And am definitely blunt like one! 🤣 hope fw happens soon! My mum is bringing my timtams and mint slices next week!!
@Mistymeow we're close too- I'm 7dpo. Also really high temps but I wonder if its just coz it's so hot. The last two days I'm like a sweat box. Hope it's a good sign!
@RedRobin7 thinking of you and sending positive vibes x
