Here's the new thread. This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle- this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Kicking off with a roll call:

Boboelephant
Age: 35
TTC #2
DS 2.5
MMC at 10 weeks in December 2017. Ectopic rupture in November 2016.
Cycle 6 post MC. Trying since September 2016.

I am waaaaaay behind on this thread! BIG congrats to @anyday88 @hidcat and anyone else I missed. Brilliant to come back to the thread and see your news.

I'm 7dpo, and trying not to get my hopes up. It has been a weird cycle with mega-late ovulation which makes the 2ww seem even longer than normal. So think I am roughly in sync with you @Ells0204 @Lilimum4 @PurpleFushia @missbit1?

Welcome to the new people, so sorry to hear about your losses but this is a good supportive thread that can really help with the ups and downs of this process.

Bobzybaby · 04/07/2018 21:37

Sorry to hear that @Spooples hugs to you x

Ells0204 · 04/07/2018 21:40

Oh @spooples I’m so sorry Sad hugs.

Boboelephant · 04/07/2018 21:50

Welcome to the newbies and sorry you find yourselves here.
@Bobzybaby yep days post ovulation. We're close as I'm 2dpo. As far as pregnancy tests if you can wait until af is due or late, then midwife is right and you may as well use the cheap ones. I got my first bfp on the Morrisons own. If you test early like most of us, then frer are the most sensitive.
@SunshineSparklesSmiles I agree. If the last one was negative then this looks pretty positive now. Tentative congratulations.
@CherryBlossom02 I feel your pain. My DS and my second pregnancy I fell immediately. As in all we did was not use protection and bang- first month. Next time it took 9 months and post MC I'm on cycle 6 too. I am also losing my mind!!
@Spooples so sorry hun. Sending 🐧 hugs.
@Ells0208 sorry it seems like af is coming but you're not out yet.
@littleemma1 so exciting!!! Have the absolute best day!!! 👰

Hi all, been lurking these boards since MMC at the end of March and D+C start of April

I'm 34
Ttc #2
Cycle 3 post mmc (10weeker at 12 week scan).
Cd5 and wondering whether to do smep

The one I lost was a wee surprise from ovulating early. Previously was using apps to try and avoid fertile weeks. I'd say we were 'careful' but not 'safe' in our attitude to making a baby then. Now I am a woman obsessed. I need to be pregnant! I have become a poas addict.

Was using opk digital clear blue tests (the pink ones that just have a steady face indicator) but ran out of the sticks. Anyone know if you can buy just the tests or if you need to buy the monitor thing again as well?
Anyways I also bought a pack of one step opk from amazon!

rdm10 · 04/07/2018 22:26

Found you!

I will read back through properly but for now massive congratulations to the BFPs. Fx this is a super lucky thread!

TinyPaws · 04/07/2018 22:45

So sorry @Spooples Flowers

Newbies - welcome to the huddle!

KnitKitty · 04/07/2018 23:00

strawberrye Great news about getting your health stuff sorted. Really hope it helps. :) (Like the llama wool news, is it soft?)

Boboelephant You don't sound crazy, I have similar superstitious thoughts, so I totally get what you mean. But there's no real reason for you not to have your BFP on here too, and we can push for a record-breaking thread. (Although we may have reached thread 24 by the time AF is due anyway!) ;) Excited for you that you had possible O pains on left side!!! :D Just think, every cycle you're closer to the lucky one! Let's hope it's this one.

Hi CherryBlossom02, SAS2802, Fae1989 and doddlebobs! Welcome. xxx

Looks promising SunshineSparklesSmiles!! Fingers crossed for you!

Hugs Spooples. I had a CP last cycle. It sucks. xxx

Glad you had a nice time away Laney79! You sound so much brighter and positive. How are you doing these days?

Well Morrisons obviously decided no sane person would want to drink grapefruit juice, I couldn't find any. Will continue my search.

My sister got engaged at the weekend. We spent the day together and started planning. She wants to get married either March/April or September/October next year... So I should probably either get my skates on and get pregnant soon or postpone it so I'm not popping one down the aisle! Confused

doddlebobs · 04/07/2018 23:01

I sense you are a helpful crowd having jumped on this thread and read it though for the first time! Looking forwards to joining the huddle Smile

Question 1- when you say dpo, do you take it from getting a positive opk or do you have other ways of sending when you actually ovulate? Just temps or are there other ways?

Question 2 - anyone doing smep? I think day 8 sounds v early - I've been opk on cd15/16 so maybe I should start say cd11 or 12?

Thanks ladies

DaisyMay25 · 05/07/2018 03:59

@doddlebobs I count 1dpo two days after I get positive because you're likely to ovulate the day after you gets positive. So for example if I got a positive today then Saturday would be 1dpo

I also do SMEP the idea of starting on day 8 is in case you ovulate earlier and that it's fresh sperm throughout, I'd stick to CD8 if you can.

Boboelephant · 05/07/2018 06:53

@doddlebobs welcome and sorry for your loss. If you have the opk monitor you can just buy more sticks. The only way to be sure that you have ovulated is to temp. If you don't temp then as @DaisyMay25 says count two days after a positive opk as 1dpo. You generally ovulate 12-48 hours after a positive. Also as she said it is best to start on day 8 if you can. The idea is that you cover the 5 fertile days before ovulation and starting on cd8 is to ensure that it's fresh sperm for cd10. If you don't think you'll last I'd say start day 10 but no later. This would still cover the 5 days if you counted your good sperm from day 12 and ovulated day 16.
@KnitKitty thanks hun I hope you're right. We did reiki again at work yesterday and I saw a white light which I'm told means good things are going to happen so I'll cling to that!! I got some pink grapefruit juice at Tesco. Ooh exiting about your sisters wedding. Hopefully you'll pop out baby in March and she'll do it in September!

FF confirmed ovulation today so am 3dpo. Let the crazy commence!

Boboelephant if I were to fall pregnant this month and it be a sticky bean I think I'd be due around April 9th ish so it would be safer for her to book in the autumn... but then if she books it for Sept/Oct and it takes me a while to get pregnant again... I don't want to miss her wedding!! Pressure! Love that you saw a white light. A friend of me did reiki on me a few years ago and I saw lights and things, it was a strange and lovely experience. Good luck for this TTW! What are you planning to distract yourself? When is AF/BFP due?

KnitKitty · 05/07/2018 07:21

*a friend of mine

I'm not awake yet...

Spooples · 05/07/2018 07:25

OK so... I posted last night saying i thought I'd had a chemical because of a super faint test and then brown spotting like the beginning of AF. Well it's now 12 hours later and I'm no clearer! 😥

Still got moderate brown spotting but no red blood yet (usually AF comes on quickly) and took another FRER with FMU this time which also had a faint line but not much darker than yesterday. This time it just about shows on the photo though...

No idea how many Dpo as first cycle since MC. Had a definite negative 14 days after the miscarriage and now 27 days.

Really not sure if it's a chemical, an Evap and early period, or an early positive with implantation bleed. Gah! Limbo.

TTC after pregnancy loss- thread 23 🐧🐧
Spooples · 05/07/2018 07:26

Should also say... I tested because I had a migraine and irritability yesterday, and really sore boobs the day before which were my symptoms with the last pregnancy which ended in MC.

Lilimum4 · 05/07/2018 07:43

@Spooples hi hun I know how you are feeling, I had a chemical back in April. All you can do sadly is wait a few days and retest if AF doesn't get started. Otherwise if your super worried go see your doctor and at least of it is a very early miscarriage then you can get it recorded. Best of luck lovely

Spooples · 05/07/2018 07:47

Thanks @Lilimum4. It's so hard to be patient isn't it?! Lol. I WANNA KNOW NOWWW! I'm off to Canada on Saturday too so I wanna know ASAP because I don't want it playing on my mind while I'm on holiday haha

HidCat · 05/07/2018 08:09

@SunshineSparklesSmiles that's a clear line, what sensitivity of test did you use for your bfn? Try the same type of test again but get in touch with epu as you may need blood tests to confirm what's going on. Good luck!

@littleemma1 so excited for you! Have an amazing weekend!

@Spooples so sorry for the confusion hun. The fact that the line has got darker should be a good thing. You might need to test again in a few days as you have had a heavy implantation bleed. Try not to let this hang over you on the Canada trip. Take a test with you and have an amazing time!

Cakelaur · 05/07/2018 08:18

Lots of bfps. Congrats ladies. If any of you want to come over to bfp thread when you're ready.... us 🐧 can hold your hands...

More cake for more babies... BFP after MCwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3270588-more-cake-for-more-babies-bfp-after-mc

Hopefully it becomes more clear soon @Spooples. I had a reasonable amount of spotting around my bfp, on and off for a couple of weeks. But the lines did have good progressions so keep with the frers and do one each morning or every other morning. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Cakelaur · 05/07/2018 08:24

@Boboelephant whoop TWW!!! You know I have EVERYTHING crossed for you!! I'm like a tightly woven ball of string!! And there is no quota babe. You time WILL come!! Just look at your gorgeous bub!!! It IS possible!

Bobzybaby · 05/07/2018 08:28

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is about going on holiday abroad in early pregnancy after recurrent miscarriage?

We have 2 weeks off early Aug. I'm due AF at the end of next week so am holding off booking anything (next time due to test will be right in the middle of being away which I'm fine with).

But, if I get a BFP next week I don't want to go away. I've lost 4 pregnancies early on (1 ectopic) so I'm anxious about being out the country. A few folk are telling me I'm being overly cautious so I'm not sure if I am being unreasonable? I hate when people look at you like you're being crazy!

My husband is desperate for a holiday but is supportive of this decision.

Spooples · 05/07/2018 08:34

@Bobzybaby I'd just do it. You can't put your life on hold while you TTC as you never know how long it's going to take, and the holiday itself won't make you miscarry. If it happens, it'll happen wherever you are and that early there's nothing that can medically be done anyway. I'm travelling to Canada for 10 days on Saturday whether or not I'm pregnant (currently unsure - vvv faint positive at ?Dpo this morning). :) go and enjoy yourself! It'll be even harder to go on holiday when you have a baby!

Spooples · 05/07/2018 08:35

Just make sure you take out travel insurance!

Bobzybaby · 05/07/2018 08:37

Thanks @Spooples it was your post about Canada that made me think about it. Like, maybe I was being overly cautious! I was thinking if you can go to Canada then I could go to Turkey lol!

I know this will sound crazy but I saw a psychic last year and she said I should never leave the country if I get pregnant. I know a lot of people think that's a load of nonsense but it's stuck in my mind!

Spooples · 05/07/2018 08:40

:/ I think that was a very cruel thing for a psychic to say. I don't believe they are any more than charlatans personally, but what a horrid and abstract thing to make someone worry about. I'm sorry she said that to you...
