Thinking of you Critter. Hope those embryos are snuggling in around about nowSmile

EmmaBx · 20/06/2018 13:59

CookieWaffle · 20/06/2018 15:00

Good luck Critter! xxx

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 15:06

Thank you all so much for your good wishes - it means a lot when there aren’t many people you can share this journey with. ET is all done - two lovely embies on board 😊 of my 6 fertilised eggs only 1 didn’t develop. Two were great quality 5 day blastos (just been transferred), two others were medium quality 5 day blastos -apparently these can still improve by tomorrow), and one other was a little slower than the others and is just forming a blasto today so it may or may not turn out to be good quality tomorrow. They’ll call me tomorrow to let me know what will be frozen. I don’t really mind as we paid for a 3 cycle package anyway so if they’re not great quality would be better just to move onto a second cycle and start fresh. I’m very happy with the two transferred though 😊 now begins the TWW 😔

They let me take a really nice photo of the embies before they went in - would post it for you to see but I can’t figure out how to get it off my android phone onto my iPad LOL. I’m so crap with technology! If you guys are interested I’ll get DH to help later and post it for you - it’s very cool 😊

Amazing news Critter Grin

CookieWaffle · 20/06/2018 15:16

Oh how exciting! Yes post the pic later :) xx

Cleozeta · 20/06/2018 15:50

I'd love to see the pic!
Fingers crossed this works for you!

Just out of curiousity, how much did you pay for the 3 cycle package? And if it works first time will you get you money back for the unused rounds?

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 15:58

@Cleozeta - my 3 cycle package was £6300. On top of that there was £550 before starting for the initial tests and consultations they make you do (AMH, HSG, etc), and all drugs are extra. The drugs depend on your individual prescription but mine were £1400 for this cycle - as it happened if have £330 worth left over as I only needed to stim for 8 days instead of the normal 11 - 12 because my ovaries responded very well. At least I might save that off the drug bill for the next cycle I guess.

There is no refund if cycle 1 works, however you don’t have to pay for the drugs for the other two cycles so would save almost £3k there. Plus if this cycle ends in a MC the other two cycles can still b3 used.

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 16:03

To explain better, the reason there is no refund is because by opting for the 3 cycle package you get a huge discount on the price per cycle - in effect the third cycle is free. Realistically at age 40 - 42 the chance of success per round is only 15 to 20% so it kinda makes sense to go with the multi package as it’s very likely we will need more than 1 cycle.

Alibaba2 · 20/06/2018 16:08

Great news Critter! You have a decent chance!

Did they grade the embies? Just interested because my friend had ivf recently and I didn’t know what the grades meant...

MATTSMAMMA · 20/06/2018 16:14

CRITTER - how exciting! Fingers well and truly crossed for you!

So ladies - what are the chances of a BFP when you dtd 2 days before positive opk? Feeling deflated as dh had to work away again today and of course today’s the day I got the smiley face on the opk. Monday
Was only opportunity for dtd - feeling fed up xx

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 16:20

@Alibaba2 - yep, apparently at this point my chance of a successful outcome is now up to 37% - it’s not amazing but definitely better than what it would have been trying naturally!

Yes they grade the embryos - the part that becomes the foetus is graded A, B or C, and the part that becomes the placenta is graded in the same way. Mine were AB and AA/B (second one still developing so could have gone either AA or AB) apparently that’s great for 40+ eggs 😊

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 16:24

@Mattsmamma - if you ovulate soon after the +OPK then you should still have a decent chance of sperms waiting for the egg - especially if you had plenty of EWCM. If you ovulate a bit later then it would be less chance but still possible. I always seem to O within 12 hours of +OPK but I know some people are nearer 36 - 48 hours.

MATTSMAMMA · 20/06/2018 17:31

Thanks CRITTERTAMER - long two weeks ahead for both of us! I think I ovulate pretty quickly after positive opk - here’s hoping!

xx

weasledee · 20/06/2018 18:16

Critter how exciting! Try and post the pic if you can! And Matt I think you're within range......
feel excited for the tww and it's not even me!!!
Fertile week starts Friday according to the app for me....

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 18:56

Hey all

So hubby came to the rescue and I think the photo is attached now - hope you can see it ok - amazing that they are microscopic but look so clear.

Over 40 ttc - summer baby dust for me!
weasledee · 20/06/2018 19:24

Wow, just amazing!

Cleozeta · 20/06/2018 20:08

Thats amazing critter! Great picture

Your 3 cycle deal is actually a really good one. Even if 1st round is sucessful its not a bad price for one round (plus would be worth every penny if it works anyway!)
I think a lot of places charge near that for just one round. I was tempted to look into it, but would be more likely with a deal like that, especially to know you have 3 chances must lower the stress factor too. Very excited for your 2ww for you!

Matts, I think over 40's often ov the same day as a +opk, I know I do, going by my temps. If thats the case then you have a good chance.

I found out our new neighbour is pregnant today, gutted as if I had not miscarried we'd have been fairly close in due date. Now I just have to watch her go through it instead Sad

I get really cross with young people for being young and fertile. Thats not good is it

Chatbash72 · 20/06/2018 20:20

CritterTamer congratulations.. rest up and relax..
MATTSMAMMA sperm can last up to 5 days inside you.. so should still be ok.. I though I had already oved but loads of emcm so tww coming up too.. xx

Chatbash72 · 20/06/2018 20:31

Thought.. 🤦‍♀️

shinyblackdog · 20/06/2018 20:52

Critter that sounds great, keeping everything crossed for you.

I've had a very depressing day. Got blood test results back yesterday but, of course, they didn't test for oestrogen, which, given today's events, would have been very useful. Had a scan today, lining is thin, hence no withdrawal bleed on the provera. They told me to start taking the clomid anyway, which doesn't make any sense to me. Clomid tricks the body into ovulating, it doesn't build up the lining, in fact can do the opposite. They want me to go in for a scan next Friday to check the lining so we'll see then. Bet I'm right though. More to the point, where's my lining? This wasn't a problem last time round.

Ticked off.

Clairexx1 · 20/06/2018 21:29

Hi everyone, I’m new here and hope I’m adding this to the right place! I’m 44 🙈 and this month was 12 days late- had all the symptoms, feeling sick, boobs tender, couldn’t face coffee! but I didn’t actually do a test. Then I started to bleed and have bad cramps, these lasted 2 days and stopped today. I’m now left a bit scared and worried. Will doing a test now still show if I had conceived and then mc? Or is there any chance I could still be pg??

Hobbes39 · 20/06/2018 21:42

Hi, can I join please? I've been on the 'infertility' IVF boards for a while sadly...
I'm 41, we have an almost 5yr old DS and have 'unexplained secondary infertility' after ttc #2 for the last 3.5 years.
I've had all the basic tests back 2.5 years ago and all looked good... but sadly I had an ectopic pregnancy (naturally conceived), then we went on to IVF as we felt we didn't have time to waste and we had a chemical, and now 2 miscarriages (just had ERPC on Monday for the 2nd miscarriage). I think our IVF journey is now over, unless we go for donor eggs, as I don't think I can face going through it all again and having another miscarriage. The most recent one we saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks and so had thought we had finally got there, but didn't grow after that point and heart stopped - mine almost did too.
I'm utterly devastated, but clinging on to the hope that there's no reason we might still manage by ourselves... other than age obviously. So once my cycle comes back after this miscarriage we shall be trying again...
I wanted to ask what supplements you are all on? I took ubiquinol for our last ivf cycle and did feel it helped, but other than that I haven't taken anything expect folic acid.
In terms of tests, I saw some of you say that you weren't tested for oestrogen - this may be obvious to you all already, but when I had the standard tests on day 2-3 my FSH & LH were measured alongside E2 (which is oestrogen) as standard, so I'm really surprised this hasn't been measured for some of you? These were on the NHS and I was told that the FSH has to be read alongside E2 as a high E2 can give a falsely low (or good) FSH...?
Anyway, good luck to you all x
