TTC First Baby! Anyone else?!

Hi Ladies.

Anyone else on their first cycle and TTCing?! I'm seeing all these beautiful posts about ladies getting pregnant and how they have bonded with people on here soooo, thought I'd make one at the start on my journey!

So, I'm now 6 days late with zero signs of AF showing up. Tested again this morning with a BFN!! I'm stuck in limbo here and it's driving me mad! Never been so late before!

@FSlater that's great news! I double checked for you this time "generally, ovulation will occur within 12 to 60 hours with an average of 24 to 36 hours after".

@MrsSquidler, that must be driving you crazy. Are you normally very regular? And are you temping? That may give you an indication of what's going on. Might just be time to go to your gp though.

@ChaosMoon no I'm never usually this late, however... guess who just decided to show her ugly face!! AF is here! Is it daft that I had to stop myself crying??

Oh and no I don't temp but I'm going to start, just purchased an ovulation thermometer so let's see how that goes. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I stopped my pill over a month ago, had my usual withdrawal bleed but now on CD 38 and still no AF. What was everyone else’s side effects first month coming off the pill?
I’ve done 2 tests this week and both BFN but Im getting loads of different ‘symptoms’ I’ve not had before like a lot of cramping these last 4-5 days - very low abdominal and on the left side slightly. I’ve also been experiencing very tender/sore nipples which I’ve never had before. I just have to brush over them and they feel so sensitive! I’m also getting quite a bit lower backache, bloating, nausea, headaches, constipation...
I use to bloat a bit and get fuller, more sensitive breasts but nothing like what I’ve been experiencing the last few days. 🤔

I keep looking at Dr Google for advice and working myself up to think something bad is happening, or further convincing myself this could be it! Unfortunately my tests say otherwise. I felt so gutted to see 2 BFNs but have told myself to wait until the weekend before testing again.

I had been on the pill for over 10 years so I’m not sure what’s going on or if this is just my body adjusting?

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Not remotely daft @MrsSquidler. There's nothing wrong with crying it out - the disappointment is just horrible. I think the important thing is being able to pick ourselves up again afterwards, and find the positives. A new cycle is a new opportunity, and all that... (I'm desperately holding onto that mantra myself at the moment. AF is due tomorrow, and I don't think there's any putting her off this time. Even though I felt really positive about this cycle until 2 days ago.)

Sorry @ChloeF21, it was 10 years ago that I stopped the pill and I don't remember the details other than it was crap and weird. You're in the right place though, there are a few people on here in a similar position. Glad you've joined us.

I’m CD18 and another negative from CBD with FMU, will try again when I get home tonight. Frustrating as I really don’t know where I am in my cycle. Keep DTD just in case I’m not getting a surge!

@Chuktuk009 no idea how that would invalidate it. Maybe ask a pharmacist?

@MrsA89 that's what I like about temping. Even if you can't work out when you're ovulating until you've been doing it for a while, you know when you've stopped and can put your feet up!

@chaosmoon I’ll try temping next cycle if we’re out this month. When in your cycle do you start temping when you’re first starting out? Is it first day of AF?

I'd actually start now. Even though you won't have enough data to know what it means yet, it'll help to start building a base line. And it'll help form a habit ready for next month.
It's also worth checking out the Natural Cycles blogs for tips on getting an accurate reading.

CD 44 though 50 since stopping my pill still no natural period and no positive test doctors tomorrow hope they will help

AF is due today, but I'm just spotting. I'm sure she'll be here soon enough, but I just can't shake that glimmer of hope. Almost certainly ridiculous but hey ho.

They have sent me for blood tests so will do that Monday and go from there

So I used my last CB OPK and I finally got a static smiley this morning wooohooo it’s CD20 for me so I obviously OV late. Hope that gives others hope who have been struggling to get a positive opk. Going to do the SMEP now.

@ChloeF21 I stopped my pill in October and the first couple of months were like clockwork and really surprised me. Then it all went awry. My cycles are now up to 33days. I now have a lot more symptoms in the lead up to my period that I never had before- painful breast and a temper. Hope that helps.

Hi Ladies!
First timer here too - we made the decision to start trying very recently. Im currently on CD24 so will wait until AF arrives later this week. Not going to bother with OPKs, just going to dtd every 2 days and see how we get on....wish me luck!

Still no sign of my AF but now on CD 41 so 11 days late... I really wish I stopped my pill sooner! Fully prepared this month is not the one for us. But the wait for AF is so frustrating after all the years with the pill controlling my cycles! X

@ChloeF21 I feel your pain I'm on CD 47 since my withdrawal bleed I also would of stopped birth control much sooner if I had known, I'm going for blood tests tomorrow just to rule anything more worrying out

@RobynC19 that's not a bad shout, I'm seeing my Dr on Tuesday (not about this) but I'll drop it into conversation if no sign of AF by then. 🤔 I just wish I could tell the difference between these feelings and symptoms and side effects! I haven't a clue what's going on. I had a real peak in symptoms on CD 31 - 38, definitely convinced myself I was PG, but the last couple of days it's all been easing off a quite bit. Cramps aren't as noticeable and my nipples aren't as sensitive as they were. All a bit odd, but until I see AF or a BFP I've just got to go with it I suppose 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi everyone; first timer here. Just had first ttc window - pretty much muddling our way through the first couple months. Go away in 2 weeks & wondering if I should take a test with me or wait untill I get back! Due AF over the holiday...

@ChloeF21 have you took a test recently do you know when you ovulated. I apparently ovulated CD20 according to clear blue so I'm defo not pregnant as did my test Friday morning before the doctors, I keep getting cramps and upset tummies I'm increasing my vit c at the moment as I Hurd that might help. Do you take any pre pregnancy vitamins. I have been taking Pregnacare conception but have read that can stop periods aswell so am just gonna take regular folic acid for a week and see. It's so annoying took us two years to be ready to start trying as we still arnt. Also I get married in 27 days don't want a surprise AF in a white dress c

@RobynC19 yes I've done 3 tests, my last yesterday morning but still says BFN. I have no idea when I ovulated though, I've been following the app flo, but not sure if it's been accurate as this is my first cycle off the pill after my withdrawal bleed, and still no AF so I could have ovulated late, or I may not have ovulated at all! I've not been testing for Ovulation or tracking discharge or anything. Very new to all this so genuinely haven't a clue what's happening 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️
I've been taking folic acid though since I stopped my pill at the end of May but that's it at the moment. And tracking my symptoms and will be tracking my AF on Flo...

@RobynC19 - congrats for your upcoming big day! Have an amazing time :-) we got married early March. Try not to get yourself too stressed about this though as you've definitely got enough on your plate with your wedding. Just enjoy the moments! x

Hi all, new here and not quite yet TTC but hopefully soon. I’m amazed everyone is so on top of their cycles - I’ve been on Microgynon since I was 18 (32 now). When I started on it I hadn’t had AF for a few months due to uni stress (Drs day I shouldn’t be concerned). I have no idea what to expect or how It would be getting back into a cycle. Any hints?
