Hi orchid yes I'm still here! :)
I think I'm about 8/9 DPO, not completely sure! Going to do an IC tomorrow and Monday and then do a frer on Tuesday! I have zero symptoms so not holding out much hope!
When are u testing ? :)

Orchid222 · 07/04/2018 13:16

Minime- I dont think anyone can stay relaxed when trying, esp at our age and after what you've been through. I know many people say relax don't stress and it'll happen but I think if it's meant to be it will be. And since there's a high rate of success soon after mc I'm crossing my fingers that you'll be joining Cleo and JoJo soon along with the rest of us.
Weasle- how long is your LP? Is it exactly 14 days?
I'm not sure where I am in the cycle either. On cd15 when I had a HyCoSy the doctor said I'd ovulate in 2-3 days but I didn't get a positive opk until cd22 so really don't know. But I'm keeping in mind what's been said a few times here that over 40 opks can sometimes not catch it in time and show as positive after ovulation.
Minime- I meant to say that to you earlier try to dtd before a positive opk just in case.
Weasle I think I'll try testing tomorrow too with IC but not expecting AF until Wednesday so might be too early anyway we'll see. Can't say I have many symptoms either. I thought I saw a couple of tiny drops of blood a few days ago and have noticed white cm but I'm probably just imagining things lol. Normally at this stage I'd have sore boobs and I don't now so not holding out much hope either.

Welcome Stars and hello ladies! I’m still here just having an incredibly crazy week... will write more later. Baby dust BFP news to you all... xxx🙏🏻 In the meantime. X

KeepingTheFaith9 · 07/04/2018 14:07

Just re read that... to be clear I don’t have any BFP news but hope we all do soon!! X

minime2017 · 07/04/2018 15:50

I hope we do move soon. It seems theres been something of a baby boom in the different boards i follow. We will get there i certain of it.
I do feel positive despite whats happened but nust wish i was back to normal. My cycle had been so regular before this I just feel a bit lost as to where I am. Id thrown all opks out and just went with the flow before our bfp. Now i feel im starting out like a newbie. Id used Ovia and have added glow to my list of apps. My lines today are at the pre positive stage so will def start tonight. Actually looking forward to some intimate time with dh as we havent dtd since the bfp-ironically didnt want to risk anything happening.
To echo what you said Orchid the lovely nurse also said it really was a game of chance and if its meant to be it will. I asked about other supplements, more folic acide etc and she said just keep taking folic acid and not think about ttc too much. Its the one piece of advice us long term older ttcers dont want to hear but essentially its effective.

Winterdown · 07/04/2018 19:10

Hello, just to introduce. Kind of a procrastinator in life. Four healthy babies, all born after I turned 37. Two conceived in my 40s, no issues, quick conceptions, healthy babies. Hope that gives hope to others.

starsandstuff · 07/04/2018 19:43

Thanks Orchid x

minime I'm sorry for your loss and fx for you.

That's nice to hear Winterdown. It's stupid, I know, but I spent so long in life deliberately not getting pg that I wasn't really prepared for a lot of the sadness and frustration that TTC seems to bring. I'm just about to start and quite nervous now when I wasn't before. I'm happy things went well for you and it does give me hope.

Winterdown · 07/04/2018 20:12

@starsandstuff

Babies conceived within a couple of months at the ages of 36, 37, 41, 43. No problems. Pregnant right away.

Sadly, looks like my time has run out. I am 45 now and having no luck after trying for 7-8 months.

So I understand the frustration but would like to advise ladies younger than myself that they are very likely still fertile!

OPK was the trick for me.

Help201602 · 08/04/2018 09:40

Hi, I’m on cycle 7 in my tww. Have two children already 14 and 10. Brought a cbfm and this is first month using it. Was relieved to get High then peak days. However know that my eggs may not be that great at 41. Fingers crossed.

amyc77 · 08/04/2018 11:13

Hello ladies, I’d like to join you if I may? I’m 40 1/2 and ttc number 2, I’m lucky enough to have my dd who is 4 1/2, been trying for two and a half years, had 2 mmcs in 2016, nothing for 11 months then mc at 5 ish weeks December 2017, fell straight away but passed another mmc 3 weeks ago at 12 weeks. This last one has been really awful as saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks, full on symptoms, and thought it’s got to work out this time by the law of averages right? Wrong -spotting at 10 weeks and scan showed no growth after 8 weeks and no heartbeat. Add to this got admitted to hospital the week after it passed with a uterus infection.
So I am waiting for recurrent miscarriage testing as have been referred on Nhs and going to go to prof quenby at Coventry for the nk uterine tests as cannot be pg for the biopsy, plus I’m really scared to dtd until af after this infection!
On the upside I seem to be catching fairly easily- the 11month space was because I was incredibly stressed at work in the process of selling my practice and having to work full time as couldn’t get a locum, but as soon as it was sold and stopped working I fell pg straight away. I just bloody can’t keep them, which is a common theme I think for us ladies over 40.
Anyway hope this is going to be a lucky thread for us all and I look forward to getting to know you all and picking brains about what can help. I’ve put in an order for some b6 and b12 after reading this thread to add to the ubiquinol, rnd, vit d, pregnacare, omega three I’m already rattling with! Xx

amyc77 · 08/04/2018 11:14

Ps have been using Ava bracelet for a year- it’s great as I couldn’t remember to take my temp on waking! Xx

KeepingTheFaith9 · 08/04/2018 11:29

Good morning. Welcome Amy, Help and Winterdown.
No exciting news from me aside from the herbs and needles are finishing on Tuesday (after 3 months and a mixed bag of results) definitely no BFP and a longer bleed (which is what I wanted) followed by a 42 day cycle (mine are always 27) and now I think I am ovulating again possible (day 7) as have had EWCM - not sure what is going on.
I have another £300 coming from my health insurance so I've decided to throw that at the TCM and do another month, might as well, no point in using the money for an odd month at some point in the next 12 months (I get £300 a year through work for acupuncture)
I'm 43 (DD 3.5, MC before her and MC after her (last MC Dec 2015) have been trying for 2 years now, and have never been able to get a positive on OPKs and have given up using them, but am pretty sure I am ovulating, even if not every month. I am going to start temping I've decided. Can't do any harm I reckon and one more thing - going to try Raspberry leaf tea for my lining as have read good reviews on it. If anyone has tried the same then let me know.
Good to see some new folks joining, missing JoyJoy and Cleo for all their knowledge and wishing I could contribute more in terms of wisdom, very thankful for being part of this community of hope. Happy Sunday everyone. Faith x

KeepingTheFaith9 · 08/04/2018 11:53

Please ladies can you help me with a question about B vitamins?
What to take and when? Do I get B6 only or a B Complex? Also ubiquinol and soy - worth a go? And when to take in cycle for the above?
Thank you for any thoughts/help in advance. Faith x

starsandstuff · 08/04/2018 11:58

Happy Sunday Faith Smile
You definitely have way more knowledge than me anyway! What is TCM? I'm still getting my head around all the abbreviations...
There's so much that I didn't know I didn't know! I was reading another thread the other day that mentioned beetroot for the lining - actually read it as I was eating pickled beetroot from a jar Grin - and I've seen things about pineapple and grapefruit, then the different testing kits, acupuncture and so many supplements! I think I'm more confused than when I came here just trying to find out how to calculate my fertile days! I'm not sure if I should just give it a couple of cycles of not paying much attention to it all, just DTD plenty, and then start in on the various methods if/when nothing's happening? I'm ringing the coil clinic tomorrow to see when I can get it removed so can't do much until that happens anyway!

Orchid222 · 08/04/2018 12:17

Hi Ladies, I'd love to type a nice long message but have very little time so that will have to wait but Faith, you can take ubiquinol throughout the cycle and here's what JoJo said about B complex:
The vit b complex is the 50 strength. I started taking it from day after ovulation. I think that's what Cleo recommended? As it delays LP so I didn't want it to delay ovulation as that part is fine.
I've never taken soy, I think Cleo did but possibly Ali or Mimosa so hopefully they'll let you know about that soon.
Stars-TCM is traditional chinese medicine.

JoJoyorker · 08/04/2018 12:53

Hello to all the new ladies. faith I was taking vit b complex 50 strength but you can take vit b6 and b12 separately as they are the important ones. A lot of people take it for their whole cycle but I copied Cleo and just took it from ovulation and it definitely increased my LP if that's what you need. I did read it starts to work really quickly and I only had to use it one month before I got my BFP. I would say definitely Ubquinol too. I don't know if it helps you conceive but it helps increase egg quality and seems to be recommended for anyone trying over 40.

Orchid222 · 08/04/2018 17:08

Weasle how are you doing did you test today?
I'm out for the month as AF arrived. I really hoped TCM and HyCoSy would help but no. I feel so down that I'm thinking of giving up altogether. It's been so long and nothing's happening and I'm tired of disappointment month after month. Sorry for the rant but I needed to vent my frustration.

starsandstuff · 08/04/2018 17:10

Ah sorry @Orchid222 😔 I know it's no help, but sending you hugs x

weasledee · 08/04/2018 17:35

Was a BFN but it is quite early yet so waiting for Tuesday to do my frer.... Smile

KeepingTheFaith9 · 08/04/2018 18:11

Thanks for the B Vit info JoJo and Orchid. I just bought the complex from boots - bit annoying that it didn’t indicate strength on the tub 😐 but will start taking soon... still not sure when Ov is gonna be 🤔 Orchid I’m sorry about AF - must be frustrating as hell with the Hycosy having been so recent and as for the TCM expenditure.. I know the feeling ... total pants... Weasledee wishing you luck.. 🙏🏻 X

Orchid222 · 08/04/2018 18:35

Thanks Stars and Faith it totally sucks :(
Faith I have the same vit b complex from boots and also found it annoying it didn't indicate strength.

I was really hopeful for this cycle too as I could feel my hormone levels were decent and ov was later than usual. But started cramping today at 10dpo and slight spotting which happens every month. Urgh.

Was AF early for you Orchid?

littlemimosa · 08/04/2018 23:08

Evening everyone. Welcome newbies. Great to have so many over 40s here:)
With regards to the vitamin questions, I’m afraid I can’t help much as I just down a conception multi vitamin/mineral everyday. I have no idea what dosage of B vits are in them but I do know they’re at least 100%rda. The only ones I add to are vitamin C as it’s v low dose and magnesium which i use as a skin spray. I also take Shatavari (a herb similar to Agnus Castus), Ubiquinol, probiotics and Serrapeptase

Never been healthier lol.
Good luck Weasel for tomorrow’s test.
CD4 here and period is tailing off. Will be keeping a hawk eye out for ewcm next few days.
Hope everyone is ok tonight. Especially those with recent losses. Hugs from me.

littlemimosa · 08/04/2018 23:09

Ali, so sorry you think it’s all over this cycle. It’s rubbish.

weasledee · 08/04/2018 23:16

Think I might buckle and use the frer tomorrow, I'm due on on Friday.... too soon do u think?
