Thanks Little!.. totally agree. ..very good point about the overly competitive dynamic. Someone once said that with 2 you're no longer a mother but a referee!
Anyway. .i don't know whether to say this but when i conceived DS i had very strange bleeds leading to me thinking i was menopausal and i didn't know i was preg for 12 weeks! I remember the bleeds were all late and none of them heavy enough to use tampons. They weren't like proper periods but brown, watery and stringy. When the 3rd "period" didn't arrive at all, i then went to the doctors who suspected ectopic but it was thankfully a normal pregnancy. I thought it was strange i'd put on weight just around my stomach and put it down to too many pies! !
Good luck xx

littlemimosa · 30/05/2018 22:47

Oh my gosh Booseys, I was walking along today thinking that my skinny jeans felt tight!!

littlemimosa · 30/05/2018 22:49

Tight around my stomach I should add....lol. Will get a test ASAP.

Orchid222 · 30/05/2018 22:59

Haha Mimosa I was going to say go get a test after reading your comment about tight jeans and then I saw the next one :) Good luck, let us know tomorrow! How long are your cycles normally? Remember, we seem to get bfp's when least expected. I remember Cleo was in shock when she got hers and so was I so you just never know...hopefully we'll have good news from both you and Karigan soon!

Thanks Orchid. Honestly though I don’t feel pregnant. I have no symptoms at all. I just don’t see how I could be from ovulation CD5. Unless it was from the previous month but then that would mean I’d had two bleeds since conception. Admittedly this bleed is tiny. Normally my cycles are 28-30 days long but in the past year or two they’ve mainly been a bit shorter due to the early ovulation. The luteal phase always remains at 14/15 days but the first phase varies. I’ll try to get a test tomorrow but we’re on holiday in France for half term so I don’t know how easy it will be.

Orchid222 · 30/05/2018 23:25

Mimosa I didn't have any symptoms either, still don't that's why my bfp was so unexpected. Granted this pregnancy might not be viable but still I had a positive test which is more than I got in the 12 months before that. And quite a few women bleed during pregnancy so you can't rule it out based on that. I'm sure it's easy to get a pregnancy test where you are. I don't know why but when you said that I remembered the scene from Bridget Jones who was trying to buy a test while skiing in Switzerland or Austria pointing at her tummy and saying she might be with bebe or something along these lines, do you know the scene I mean? It's quite funny.

littlemimosa my best friend conceived on day 5 and he's now 6.. not seen pregnancy tests in an intermarche but the pharmacy will probably do them.. do you have a mall near you, most villages have a pharmacist but perhaps not the tiny ones. Good luck 🤞

Chatbash72 · 31/05/2018 00:18

Holy crap ladies Brigette Neilson is preggers at 54!!! Got to be doner eggs

Cleozeta · 31/05/2018 08:08

Good luck mimosa! Let us know how you get on.

I am so glad I had that scan, as if I didn't know the egg was ready on Tuesday I wouldn't have a clue what was going on right now. Been doing opk's since the day before scan and not had a positive, started temping day after scan to comfirm ov, and it's all over the place. Either I've completely forgotten how to temp and I'm doing it wrong, or something is wacky. Day after scan was a normal post ov temp, then today I got a pre ov temp (quite low) went back to sleep and then checked again and it was a post ov temp. So confused!!
Oh and boobs don't hurt either

Orchid222 · 31/05/2018 08:13

Cleo- the only thing I'll say is I'm not sure how precise they can be during the scans or rather whether our eggs have minds of their own. When I had my HyCoSy the doc said I'd ovulate in the next 2 days but I didn't get a positive opk until a week after so it's all very confusing.

Cleozeta just keep dtd every other day and you should catch it.. x

Cleozeta · 31/05/2018 10:04

Ok, well at least I know it's there and ready which is something! I wish these things were more straight forward sometimes!!

Although... if the follicle was 21mm on Tuesday, they say it grows 2mm a day.... would that not get too big if it doesn't happen soon? I wish it would send out a little note or something to tell us when it's done, that would be so useful. Inconsiderate overies.

BooseysMom · 31/05/2018 18:51

Little. .i had two bleeds since conception. .admittedly they were both about 8-10 days late. I still didn't clock that i was actually pregnant until they sent me for the scan. (Then i nearly fainted!) i never tested. I couldn't even remember when we dtd! good luck xx
Chat. ..Brigette Neilson 54 and preggers!! about to start googling!

Orchid222 · 31/05/2018 18:56

Karigan and Mimosa- any luck with testing?

OP posts:
littlemimosa · 31/05/2018 22:06

Bonjour ladies. I’ve not tested. We’ve had such a busy day on the beach and in parks etc that I’ve just not got round to hunting down a test. More bleeding today, same quantity as yesterday. Still convinced it’s my period even tho it’s v v light. Amazed at how many of you are saying you had ‘periods’ whilst in early pregnancy. I thought it was an urban myth but clearly not lol.
On a totally separate note, I did an online bmi calculator today and I’m at the very low end of normal, just scraping over the ‘underweight’ line. Am starting to wonder if I need to put a bit of weight on to optimise my chance of pregnancy. Any thoughts?
Another thing, anyone tried Maca? I bought some (in powder form not tablets) before we came on holiday and I’ve been stirring some into my yoghurt and porridge. It’s pretty grim tasting but I kept reading that it’s a food not a herb and that it’s best to eat it. Anyone tried it? Some websites make it sound like a fertility wonder drug!

AtrocityNeedles · 01/06/2018 09:03

Good morning mimosa. I have many friends who bled through the pregnancy; one of them bled regularly every month so she only found she was pregnant at five months Shock, to be fair she didn't show at all, I was seeing her regularly and I hadn't noticed either! Another friend had two mc-like bleeds, on the second one she cried for hours before she was scanned and still it all turned out to be fine and she has the most gorgeous baby.

BMI is a bit bullshit because it doesn't really account for muscle, but I find it to be 'off' more on the upper end of the scale (muscly men will be told they are obese according to BMI). Have you always been thin, or have you lost weight recently? Are you eating enough? I went to see a nutritionist for fertility and she hammered the importance of getting enough protein (70g daily for me, but I'm very petite).

Lastly, maca is an adaptogen, which means that it helps normalise your hormones whichever way they have gone. I used to sprinkle some powder in my smoothie but to be honest I didn't notice any difference so I stopped.

My ovulation machine has kindly informed me this morning that I'm ovulating tomorrow...

hmmm123 · 01/06/2018 09:27

Good luck mimosa

So I think I might be ovulating at the moment as have sore boobs and lots of cm but I m on half term holiday without my DH who is 3 hours drive away 😩

Am having blood tests at the drs next week to check whether am in peri menopause and for other stuff so will know either way

Cleozeta · 01/06/2018 09:56

My dh got told he is obese by bmi, but he's super fit and muscley, so he calls crap on bmi too. I wouldn't worry too much as long as you feel healthy and are getting enough of everything.

Hmmm - good luck withblood tests, but don't read too much into the perimenopause thing. I am completely perimenopausal and still conceived. My friend has conceived 3 since being confirmed perimenopausal too (all live births)

Good luck to all those ovulating, looks like a few of us in the tww together

BooseysMom · 01/06/2018 11:23

Wow Cleo! 3 conceived whilst peri-menopausal is some going! ! What's my excuse? !!
Atrocity. . 5 months gone?!! I thought my 3 months was amazing. But you can kind of see how some women go full term and then only realise when they go into labour..although it just seems unbelievable.
Yes good luck again everyone! Personally i think i'm 99% certain i'm out of the race. I burst into tears this morning when that heart-melting ad came on with the little girl who wants to buy her mum some Dairy Milk chocolate and hands over her few toys and plastic coins to the shop keeper. The look on the shop keepers face! Then he pushes back a little toy pony saying "your change" and she rushes out to mum saying "happy birthday mummy". Good lord i'm even in tears now thinking of it! ! So yeah count me out ladies. .AF about to strike!
Good luck everyone xx

Cleozeta · 01/06/2018 16:42

Boosey - I have cried to that advert too!
Yeah my friend must have been super fertile weirdly. 3 in quick succesion. The last one at 43

Orchid222 · 01/06/2018 16:59

That confirms what the article I sent a while back said that your fertility increases before menopause so there no excuse for everyone here not to fall pregnant at some point :)

CritterTamer · 01/06/2018 21:58

Evening ladies. Hope everyone is doing ok today! Did someone mention a nice You Tube fertility yoga teacher on here the other day? If anyone knows what videos I should look for i’d Be grateful if you could let me know 😊

Chatbash72 · 01/06/2018 22:55

CritterTamer it was me and I quite liked fertility yoga with YogaYin but think there are a few about.. her YouTube sessions were 20mins long, so quite easy to do.
