Hi JoJo, thanks for chiming in. Hope all is going well with the pregnancy. So it looks like everyone is advising a B complex?

Weasel that’s just rubbish. It’s so typical that there are such rules regarding progesterone. If I were you I’d just buy some bio-identical progesterone cream online. If I ever get a bfp I’ll get some.

Booseys - I get very emotional around ovulation but those symptoms sound v extreme. Shatavari has really helped me on that front. My hormones feel really balanced.

Shiny - thanks for that info on morphology.

KeepingTheFaith9 · 21/05/2018 22:10

Welcome Wanna, Polly and Needles. For what it’s worth on the progesterone cream or suppositories - I think that NHS GPs don’t want to spend their budget and the answer for any fert issues for over 40’s is ‘you’ll have to go private’ and it feels like they barely have the time of day for anyone who already has a child - like “you’ve had your lot - jog on” Hence Weasle I’m not surprised about the response re your MC. I just don’t think they have the funds to offer anything and fertility is big business - it’s everywhere let’s face it.

KeepingTheFaith9 · 21/05/2018 22:14

Perfectly illustrated by Shiny who has paid for clomid and progesterone and got prescriptions ‘to go’. If you do have funds there are options. Personally I think I am going to have to stick to vits alone. 3 months and £1200 later on accupuncture and herbs and nothing doing. 😬 I did buy
some progesterone cream but as working out when I’m ovulating is so hard I can’t really use it 😝

KeepingTheFaith9 · 21/05/2018 22:24

Girls I need guidance - are ubiquinol and COQ10 the same or different? I just found a load of Q10 (see pic) in my cupboard from last year when I was dabbling in vits - but I’m confused... Thanks a mill for feedback. X

Oh and Weasle - that must have been crap and disappointing - sorry to hear. Boosey bummer you feel so rough but hoping there is a chance for you this month 🙏🏻 I copied JoJo, Orchid and Cleo on the B complex front - I’ve been taking them a month now... x

weasledee · 21/05/2018 23:19

So those using the progesterone cream, do you only use it after ovulation then? Thinking of just buying myself some of that instead.....Smile

Chatbash72 · 21/05/2018 23:41

Hello wanna, polly and needles.. KeepingTheFaith9 I think you are right about treatment of us ladies in our 40's in fertility issues. I'm sorry the medical profession has let you down in so many ways..

Karigan1 · 22/05/2018 09:00

DH and I had a chat the other night and decided that we aren’t going to obsess about it just see if it happens. Kind of takes some of the stress off as I was worried about letting him down (he’s younger than me too :/) .

This spotting is really wierd. Dpo 5 slight pink spotting. Nothing most of yesterday until pm being small amount of brown spotting and this morning litterally a teeny weeny amount if brown. Wtf is going on.

I had spotting years ago when getting divorced (about 6) but since I came off the pill in November I haven’t had any and cycles were like clockwork. Had progesterone checked two cycles ago and it was fine. LH and FSH were fine too!

AtrocityNeedles · 22/05/2018 09:10

BooseysMom, I do get those symptoms quite often - sometimes on ovulation day, on bad months even a couple of days beforehand. I think it has something to do with too strong a progesterone surge (but I could be wrong) and it has played against me a few times because, as you said, I just don't want DH anywhere near me. Then once I get my period and I look back on my cycle (don't you love the Clue app), I realise I've totally missed my window Sad.

AtrocityNeedles · 22/05/2018 09:11

Karigan1, I used to get that kind of spotting years ago. I was anaemic and had very irregular cycles. Started eating meat and went to an acupuncturist and either or both those things regulated my cycles and the weird spotting never happened again.

Karigan1 · 22/05/2018 09:45

Yeah I would understand it if something like that was happening but cycles are normally regular. Last month everything shifted a week due to heavy exercise but it was still bang on. Progesterone was tested and showed ovulation etc, fsh and lh were nice and low at cd21. No stress other than normal. :/

Karigan1 · 22/05/2018 09:46

Well now I’m stressing lol but wasn’t before!

Apple04 · 22/05/2018 11:40

Hi everyone. Can I join, good to have somewhere to chat. I've just turned 42 (arrrgghhh) and have been ttc our 1st for three long years. Lost four in that time...mmc, termination for abnormality, cp and mc. Getting very fed up. Now on cycle 7 of ttc since last mc, if no joy this month we are going to book to do ivf over the summer. My last bfp took 8 long months of very active ttc and I've noticed its getting harder to conceive as I get older. Interested in all the b complex chat, I was thinking of trying that!

littlemimosa · 22/05/2018 16:49

Welcome all newbies. Apples sorry to hear of your losses. What a traumatic time you’ve had.

Weasel - I don’t use it so can’t really advise you. Rationally I’d guess that you only use it post ovulation?

Faith - my understanding of CoQ10 is that your body converts CoQ10 (which we get from food) into Ubiquinol so that it’s more ‘useable’. As we age our bodies lose the ability to convert it hence why we are all taking Ubiquinol! The pills remove the need for your body to convert it. Strangely I’ve actually used both and feel like I’ve more energy on the CoQ10. So I vary it now.

littlemimosa · 22/05/2018 16:51

Karigan I’m sorry I can’t help you with the spotting. I’m keeping everything crossed for you that’s it’s implantation x

Karigan1 · 22/05/2018 16:53

I actually use cq10 as I found an online study where the differences between that and ubiquinol absorption were found to be minimal. The price difference however isn’t lol

Karigan1 · 22/05/2018 16:54

Thank you little. I know I’ll just have to wait and see. Only time will help with this one.

AtrocityNeedles · 22/05/2018 17:00

Might be worth eating some pineapple to aid with implantation just in case?

KeepingTheFaith9 · 22/05/2018 23:05

Welcome Apple. So sorry for all your difficulties - I admire your determination to keep trying. I guess that’s what we all have in common here. Karri and Mimosa thanks for clarifying the COQ10 matter. X

littlemimosa · 23/05/2018 07:06

Weasle- an article I just found on when to use progesterone cream.

natural-fertility-info.com/fertility-herbs-fertility-supplements.html

Chatbash72 · 23/05/2018 07:16

Goodness I feel like I am lacking in the vitamins department.. only taking pre natal vits and omega 3,6,9.. perhaps I should pop down to Superdrug... but I find it all a bit confusing and don't want to over vitamin 🤔

minime2017 · 23/05/2018 07:41

Little update ladies...I have finally got a smiley face on cd15! Relieved theres actually a surge. Ewcm for past 2/3 days and pains before that so Id have sworn ovulation was over. Id usually pick up a surge at cd11/12 so a bit later post mc. Now to convince dh to dtd for a night or 2 more 😁 must read the progesterone cream article @littlemimosa

KeepingTheFaith9 · 23/05/2018 09:34

Brilliant news Mini - go girl. I still have no idea where I am at. CD 17 and a bit of CM but nothing stretchy (last cycle was 35 days so I am hoping things will pick up around the day 21 mark)
In respect of OV kits, what are you using Mini. I have had no joy with these ever (anyone else in this dept) and I find using what I have - has stressed me out but maybe I should try again, what do you use, and how often do you test - and importantly how much is it costing each month?!!! Thanks a million in advance for sharing! F x

Karigan1 · 23/05/2018 13:02

Ohhh good news with the smiley face :). Spottings stopped at last thank heavens. If it doesn’t come back it lasted 3 days dpo 5 to 7!

Boobs are HUGE too. I’ll be interested to see what happens this month but being pessimistic still as I know the chances are so low.

Orchid222 · 23/05/2018 15:17

Karigan that sounds very positive! I think a bfp is heading your way!
