Previous post was meant to say miscarriages weren't consecutive....
My doc said he'd give me the progesterone tabs if he could but they aren't allowed to prescribe them!! But no mention of progesterone today at all.....
I'm still convinced something happened during my erpc as I've had more BFN since then than before....

Cleozeta · 21/05/2018 13:47

I think GP's are very reluctant to perscribe progesterone here, I've no idea why. When I first got my bfp I was worried about my progesterone levels as previous day 21 results had come back borderline, so I asked for a blood test in early pregnancy. They were very reluctant to do it and said it would be pointless. I was made to feel a bit of a numpty for requesting it.
I have purchased some natural progesterone cream online, incase I get lucky with another bfp. Not taking any chances this time

Chatbash72 · 21/05/2018 14:37

My pre conception vits have B1, B2,B6 and B12 in so I'm hoping that's me covered..
I do think gps are v quick to push down the ivf route rather than looking at the natural things that can be done.. but it's only recently that the medical profession have been offering aspirin to ladies that has helped goodness knows how many babies that has helped survive.. my gp said previous bloods that were taken for a hospital a and e admission were fine and that I needed to relax.. well to be fair I don't want to know what my levels are because I think I would stress and relaxing is easier to say than do. But all natural hints and helps are great to share and I love all the support for each other.. xxx

weasledee · 21/05/2018 14:46

Forgot to add that my GP actually suggested I phoned the EPU "when" I get a BFP and tell them I need progesterone but after today I think they'll just tell me where to go!!

littlemimosa · 21/05/2018 15:09

Gosh I learn so much from you gals.

That’s decided then, I’m adding the extra B vits. to my regime! Thanks for the tips everyone. So is it just B6 or B complex I need to get?
I’ve looked at my preconception tablets and they seem to be higher than the rda already on the B vitamins so is it still ok to take extra?

Very interesting re the progesterone cream too. Will bear that in mind. How odd that doctors are reluctant to prescribe it. No doubt if it was of benefit to the pharmaceutical companies they’d be pushing it on us......

littlemimosa · 21/05/2018 15:09

Cleo - hope all goes well tomorrow hun.

littlemimosa · 21/05/2018 15:11

Weasel - so sorry your appointment was a disappointment. It just seems so unfair that they won’t do more in the way of investigation because your miscarriages aren’t consecutive. Rubbish.

Karigan1 · 21/05/2018 15:35

I went with just b6 as some b vits looked like you had to stop taking them when pregnant. B6 alone looked safest to me.

Karigan1 · 21/05/2018 15:35

With the pregnacare as well that is

Chatbash72 · 21/05/2018 15:43

weasledee why is he not able to prescribe progesterone cream.. they do for menopausal women! My mum in law has it..

Orchid222 · 21/05/2018 15:54

I just don't get why a recurrent mc clinic wouldn't even mention progesterone if it might help...odd.
Karigan- your post worried me a bit,I kept taking b complex until I got my bfp! Stopped right away but still. Do you remember which ones you had to stop? I dont even know how much I was taking because the boots brand doesn't have anything on the container which is annoying.

Karigan1 · 21/05/2018 16:59

Please don’t worry. It was because of one of the other things I was taking I think and there was a limit to how much you should have.

shinyblackdog · 21/05/2018 17:14

Just going back to earlier morphology discussion, just seen consultant, he says concentration is most important, then motility, then, a very distant third, morphology. Apparently some places don't even test for it. He recommended proxeed if we want to feel like we're doing something about it. Also gave me a new clomid prescription so I'm back in the game! (Didn't look very impressed with my B6 story but did give me a prescription for progesterone pessaries to collect if I get pregnant - maybe because private rather than NHS?)

PollyIndia · 21/05/2018 17:35

Chatbash, i know, reading it back, it's ridiculous! Though to be fair, for most of the 18 months, I haven't been doing all this. I've been through phases of taking this supplement or that one, but this is the first time I have properly gone for it with everything. So 3 months of dedication :). And actually I slipped on sat and had pimms and prosecco and red meat, plus cake... oops! Hopefully one slipup doesn't make a huge difference... or does it?!
Yes Minime2017, I was on maybe end of last year I think. Then I got busy with work and god knows what else and suddenly it is 6 months later and I am still not pregnant!
Weasledee, that's awful re the miscarriage clinic - what a waste of time. Surely you are exactly who they should be helping.

weasledee · 21/05/2018 17:42

I know it's disappointing. The GP said he hasn't allowed (legally) to prescribe progesterone for fertility issues, must be different for menopause?? Should the day ever come I get a BPF I'll follow his advice and call the EPU but I doubt they'll give me any! But then I think I'd call the GP and get him to sort it! :)

Cleozeta · 21/05/2018 18:06

Get progesterone cream online if you need it! I don't know why it's such an issue for gp's especially if they are happy to perscribe privately. Maybe it's a finacial issue?
Shiny is that a private fertility clinic you went to? Why did they prescribe clomid? Do you not regularly ovulate? And have you tested low for progesterone?
I was considering a fertility clinic before I got my bfp. May consider that route again if it doesnt happen quickly as panicking alot about lack of time left

shinyblackdog · 21/05/2018 18:59

Yes, fertility clinic - it takes me ages to get af back after an "event". 18 months after I came off the pill, 18 months after I had dd. Didn't want to risk waiting 18 months after medical termination (no sign of af after four months) so went on clomid. Now I've got it again after mc. All tests normal.

BooseysMom · 21/05/2018 19:18

Welcome Polly & Needles.
Cleo, my dad has one of those pill organisers for his heart pills. He's 80. He then left it at our house bless him!!
Well today i'm on cd14 and think i must be smack bang in the middle of ovulation but this month its horrible. I'm nauseous, have crampy pains and loads of mucus which is yellow-ish and thick. .sorry tmi! But the worse thing is my boobs have swollen up like balloons. .sorry again! ... And they are so sore. I've felt like crying all day. Surely i can't be showing v early preg signs. We have dtd 3x and haven't tried for 3 days as i'm feeling so rubbish i don't want dh anywhere near! ! Has anyone had ov symptoms this strong??

Cleozeta · 21/05/2018 20:01

Oh no shiny that sounds awful, I l'm not surprised you want clomid! I've no idea how long it will take me to get af back after this mc but I won't be hanging around too long to find out if it's not quick!
Boosey my mum has one for her heart pills too!
Ov sounds dramatic this month. I guess at least you know it's happening!

Chatbash72 · 21/05/2018 20:07

PollyIndia it's not ridiculous at all, we all try what we can a cheeky drink and yummy food keep us from going bonkers on this journey..

JoJoyorker · 21/05/2018 20:20

Orchid I carried on taking my vitamin B complex after BFP until I had received the vit B6 on its own from amazon. I read that you shouldn't just stop taking the B6 as it increases progesterone so you shouldn't stop until 12 weeks and then gradually come off it. I did ask the doctor but she didn't have a clue this is just what I've read online. I do think the B complex helped me as it was the month I started it I got my BFP. It increases LP which is what I needed I think.

JoJoyorker · 21/05/2018 20:22

Oh and I meant to say I don't think the vitamin b's in pregnacare etc are enough. it was a 50 complex I was taking.

Chatbash72 · 21/05/2018 21:13

JoJoyorker you took vitamin b complex? And that didn't increase your vit b levels too much?

wannamumma · 21/05/2018 21:37

Hi, I'm new, not sure I'm in the right place... had fertility tests today. He's ok, I'm not. So, looks like we have to go down the donor route 😬

Cleozeta · 21/05/2018 22:01

Welcome wanna, what were your results if you don't mind me asking?
