Mini - sorry you’re stressing over your cycle. I did ovulate straight after AF again this cycle so it is possible. Hope you get a clearer picture soon.

Cleo - funny you mention Vitex. I’m considering starting it. Mainly cos it’s the one thing I haven’t tried! I have some in the cupboard (in tincture form) that I bought a while back but never started. Heck why not. I’ve read good things about it. What else are you taking now? I’m on Ubiquinol, multi vit/mineral, omega 3+cod liver oil, extra vit c and zinc and probiotics.

littlemimosa · 20/05/2018 11:07

Hmmmm - good luck! I hope the absense of AF is a good thing......

Cleozeta · 20/05/2018 11:32

I am going in for medical management on Tuesday, once that is all done I want to get straight on with sorting myself out ready to ttc again. I'll start vitex (same reason, because it's the one thing I haven't tried!) Also will be taking ubiquinol, vib B complex, EPO, wheat grass, royal jelly, and progesterone cream. Better get myself one of those OAP pill organisers!

Chatbash72 · 20/05/2018 12:34

Cleozeta a dosette box for you, you'll be rattling... I've never heard of vitex, what is it?
minime2017 I've often had ov pain and ewcm at last few days of af... think it's just the delights of getting old.. early ov... but still hope.
I don't use the opk sticks as made me more stressful.. but I'm guessing with the pain and ewcm that I'm oving.. did have some ewcm this am but dtd last night too so 🤞although we have had some energetic 🤣🤣 first couple of weeks of cycle to no avail on the baby front.. so I guess it's just pot luck..
I take the omega 3,6,9 and pre natal vits.. did use essential oils and take raspberry leaf tea.. but thought I would try relaying on my body.. 🤞🤞

Karigan1 · 20/05/2018 17:22

Hi ladoes. Gosh I’ve missed a lot. I’m so sorry for your loss Cleo.

Popped back on as scanning mumsnet for answers to random spotting. Suddenly started spotting today at 5dpo. Not had that for the 6 months I’ve been off the pill 😕. Slightly terrified it might be the return of spotting I got whilst getting divorced but I don’t feel stressed! Does anyone have any ideas?

Orchid222 · 20/05/2018 18:01

Karigan- could be implantation bleeding

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 20/05/2018 18:20

Karigan I got random spotting for quite a few months before my bfp. I think it was just age related. Something to do with the balance of hormones.

Chat - vitex is just a natural herb. From a fruit I think? But it's well known for balancing hormones. Something to do with the petruity (?) gland. Anyway, think it's worth a shot. I'll try anything once

minime2017 · 20/05/2018 18:34

Cleo ive already bought the OAP pill organiser...the glamourous accessories of ttc. Im now getting the familiar achiness and a bit more ewcm so think im still in with a chance. My poor dh is going to be on dtd duty for a few extra days this month...

hmmm123 · 20/05/2018 18:40

Just tested negative so I think just weird cycles which is really frustrating

littlemimosa · 20/05/2018 20:35

Total cycle confusion here. I thought I’d ovulated already but today (CD18) I’ve had tons of ewcm and a dark line (but not fully positive) on an opk. Wtf?! I just can’t read my body anymore. So I guess I’m going to be pestering DH again. Ugh I hate having to say ‘I’m ovulating let’s get to it’. Feels really unromantic

Hmmm sorry you tested negative.

Lol at those oap pill cases. I draw the line at that but I can see the attraction.

PollyIndia · 20/05/2018 21:57

I'm a bit of a lurker (as I have nothing to report really), but I've been meaning to pop up and say congrats to orchid and sparkly, and also say how sorry I am to cleozeta and minime for the mmc's. I've been trying for 18 months i guess and am 42.
Vitex I think is good for rebalancing if you need to bring your FSH down. I looked into it as had bloods done and my FSH was 7.8 but the LH was 13.4. I was going to take Vitex then realised it wouldn't be good for me, so am taking Inositol instead.
As well as that, I take - deep breath - ubiquinol, a raw prenatal, high dose fish oils, EPO for first half, vit d3, calcium, maca powder, wheatgrass, spirulina and collagen. Plus I am doing acupuncture and I have herbs to have twice a day. Just reading this back, it's ridiculous! And expensive.
But I've given myself 3 months of this - have cut out white carbs, red meat (pretty much), refined sugar and booze (90% of the time). Periods regular and blood test last months says am ovulating... but it's not happening. I am not sure I believe all this will work, but giving it my best shot.

littlemimosa · 20/05/2018 23:53

Hi Polly - you were on here a few months back I think? You’re in pretty much the same boat as me. I just turned 42 and have been ttc for 18-24 months but have missed loads of cycles out in that time. I’m also taking a ton of vitamins and having acupuncture. I guess like me you need to feel you are doing something proactive.

Chatbash72 · 21/05/2018 07:53

littlemimosa cycle confusion here too.. loads of ewcm and still ov pain.. nearly oving when my app has predicted.. which never happens.. poor oh 🤣🤣

Cleozeta · 21/05/2018 08:19

I can't wait to start ov'ing again. I just hope its quickly! Already getting impatient to start ttc again.

Karigan1 · 21/05/2018 09:37

I think it’s the month for it. I actually ovulated around when the app predicted this month too. Not at all like my usual around day 9/10.

Whatever the spotting was yesterday it’s not shown it’s head so far today. So seems to have been a day long light pink spotting session. Weird!

Chatbash72 · 21/05/2018 09:42

PollyIndia that is some dedication, 🤞🤞🤞 I have been booze free since Dec.. but don't miss it.. takes 3 months to mature an egg.. Nature is not a quick beast.. keep positive while af comes there is still hope.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Orchid222 · 21/05/2018 10:32

Hi ladies,

Mimosa-warm salads according to my TCM lady are, as Chat said, warm. She told me to pan fry them but at work I couldn't do that so used to pop them in a microwave for 20 sec or so.

Oxtail soup is yummy! I haven't made it in a few weeks but am going to this week. I took the recipe from google: www.bbc.com/food/recipes/oxtail_soup_71917
My changes to it were I also added some potato, used a can of chopped tomatoes instead of tomato puree, didn't use red wine, didn't bother with straining liquor through a sieve and added flour at the start of cooking.

Polly- thank you, I hope baby dust spreads to you all very soon!

Karigan- I still think your spotting might've been implantation bleeding so I'd take a pregnancy test in a week if I were you. When are you due?

All- I think Shiny mentioned last week that she only got pregnant while taking vit B6. I remember Jojo said she started vit B complex and a few other things shortly before getting her bfp. I copied her and added vit B complex to my prenatals, EPO and ubiquinol the moment she mentioned it. That was right at the end of March, my next cycle started on 8 April and then I got my bfp. It might be a pure coincidence of course but please can you all add that to your vitamins if you aren't taking it already and see if it makes a difference? You never know, it might just help do the trick.

OP posts:
Karigan1 · 21/05/2018 10:46

It would be funny if it was as this is the first cycle I’ve been taking b6. Had loads of ewcm too which I think it helped with as that’s the only thing I’d changed.

I’m taking a pregancare conception, cq10, b6 and vitamin d.

Due 29th according to my app but my LP is usually 16 days so probably 31.5.18. I’m either dpo 6 or 7 today depending on if I o’d on the day or not. It’s pretty obvious when I o as only get two days ewcm atbest sometimes only one. The15th it was really heavy ewcm.

Cleozeta · 21/05/2018 10:58

I'd started taking Vit B just before my bfp too...

Orchid222 · 21/05/2018 11:09

It can't be a coincidence then! I'll be waiting to see lots of bfp's next month! Do we know how vit B is supposed to help? Frankly I didn't research it, I just copied Jojo who copied you Cleo.

OP posts:
Karigan1 · 21/05/2018 11:11

Yeah I think I may have copied Jojo or Cleo too. Definitely read about b6 on here.

AtrocityNeedles · 21/05/2018 11:20

Hello! May I join? 44, TTC #1, no reason why it should not happen other than the infamous "it's all over after 40" chant. Although since we've been trying forever and a day, it is surely starting to feel that way! Sad

weasledee · 21/05/2018 11:57

Hi all, went for my first recurrent miscarriage clinic appointment today and I feel it was a waste of time!
Being 42 I was hoping for at least a scan but all I got was a blood test and the advice to have sex! Her conclusion was because my periods are regular then I'm ovulating, so there's no issue!
Also said I didn't need to come to the miscarriage clinic really as my miscarriages were consecutive!

starsandstuff · 21/05/2018 12:39

That's really disappointing @weasledee I'm sure you were hoping for something more constructive than that Hmm Might the blood test tell you anything or is it one you've done before

Orchid222 · 21/05/2018 12:42

Weasle-sorry your appointment was a waste of time. Sounds a bit like my fertility clinic appt. My gp said they would be able to offer other things apart from IVF and the consultant only said straight to IVF.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't know much about causes of mc but when a few years ago I told my ob-gyn I had an early mc he gave me progesterone pessaries to use when I had my next bfp. He also said he had a few patients in different countries in Europe who had multiple mc's and these helped them to finally enjoy healthy pregnancies. Whether they would help in your case of course I don't know but maybe worth giving it a shot if you can get your hands on them? I think someone on this board said in the UK they give them to women undergoing IVF but I don't know how else to get a hold of them. I still had some from when my ob-gyn prescribed them to me last year and am using them now as I did in my 1st pregnancy. Whether they helped or not I don't know but they certainly didn't hurt.

Needles- my grandmother got pregnant by accident at 44 so it's very much possible!
