Hoping to find some ladies in a similar situation to either help keep the crazy at bay... or provide company to safely let it out! Grin

DH and I had planned to wait until May-ish to start trying for #2. Our DD is 15.5 months and we are due to complete on our new house next month so wanted to wait. I am still BF but only a couple of times a day. Periods returned at 8 months and have been every 29-33 days since. Downloaded the sodding Ovia app last month, "just to start monitoring my cycles"... instead I am already devoting an unhealthy amount of time to staring at it and subsequently became fixated about DTD on my ovulation day (usually around CD18-20). Successfully managed to seduce DH during DD’s nap this weekend on CD18 and am now descending into madness checking CM and wondering about every minor twinge! Blush

So I guess we are now officially TTC! The madness, upset and hoping begins again!

Please tell me there are some of you in the same boat?!

There’s something there Cherry! Can you get to a supermarket for pink dye tests tomorrow?!

Naschkatze · 01/04/2018 21:25

Kurly did you test again?

Like some of you I’m also not sure if breastfeeding has been affecting my fertility. Periods returned at 8 months but have been a bit all over the place. Last cycle was a slightly more normal length at 34 days.. DS has recently stopped feeding even though I was quite keen to continue so I’m hoping that will help.

CD 16 today and we haven’t DTD at all this month yet due to sickness, incompatible shifts and just life with a baby! Anyone else find it hard to find the energy?!

8DaysAWeek · 01/04/2018 21:47

Defo Nasche. I'd love to adopt the "dtd every second day" method but it's just not possible with DSs erratic sleep and long shifts at work. Constantly knackered. Think that's why I'll keep using opks, and I'm trying to temp this month - I'll be more likely to ensure we get it done if I have a good idea I'm ovulating! Sounds pretty bad doesn't it haha. Things are definitely different second time round!

CherryO88 · 01/04/2018 22:35

@nasche we’re going home tomorrow so will try to find a boots to call in on. Id like to think I’ll be able to hold off until Tuesday for FMU but I know I’ll POAS as soon as I can!
We DTD every other day for 2 weeks. Part of the reason I really want this to be positive is I don’t know how we’ll keep that up every month!!!

Fififiesta · 02/04/2018 13:00

I have got Ovia now and it says we DTD 4 times of the 6 days in my FW and also the day before it started and the day after it ended and some other times in the month so we have tried our best.

BUT

I have had mild cramps yesterday and I now have awful cramps so expecting to see AF at any moment even thou she isnt due until the weekend...ConfusedSad

Naschkatze · 02/04/2018 13:12

Not out yet Fifi! Sending positive vibes your way.

Good luck Cherry!

Ovia thinks my FW starts later this week but I’m definitely getting some signs. I never got the hang of OPKs last time but might try them again. I’d just be interested to know if I am ovulating at all since my cycles have been erratic.

Fififiesta · 02/04/2018 13:13

Thanks Nasch Grin
I tried OPK this month it was useful to see that I did get a positive so probably ovulated. I wasnt sure because I am still BFing.

CherryO88 · 02/04/2018 13:48

Got a digital CB and a first response rapid response (they didn’t have the early response ones). Both BFN! That’s me out, just waiting for AF now

Fififiesta · 02/04/2018 14:05

Cherry SadSad big hugs for you

Naschkatze · 02/04/2018 15:47

Sorry Cherry! WineFlowers

MaGratgarlik1983 · 02/04/2018 15:56

Me me I'm getting obsessed! Can I join?! We're not actively ttc but I'm sure I can see something in this test from this morning. If I oved on time, I'm one day late, but I think I oved a week later do then I'd be due Thurs or Fri.

CherryO88 · 02/04/2018 17:51

Hi magrat I’ve had a good look, I can see something but not convinced it’s a line. Im in the same boat, staring at a FRER (ran to boots at 4) and trying wish a line. Try again tomorrow AM?

MaGratgarlik1983 · 02/04/2018 17:52

It drives you mad doesn't it?! Going to try and hold off for now... Or get done ICs!! Good luck to you!

CherryO88 · 02/04/2018 18:10

I’ve lost the plot altogether. DH is going to kill me if I don’t stop obsessing. I just cracked mine open and it’s Dec a BFN. Going to give it one last shot in the morning with FMU and then stop. Good luck to everyone!

Naschkatze · 02/04/2018 19:06

Magra I think I saw your other thread. I can’t see anything I’m afraid but it’s still early! Put the sticks down at least till the morning.

I think I got a positive on an OPK this afternoon. Was pretty dark but maybe not quite as dark as the control line. Hard to tell. If my cycles are shortening then I may have missed it yesterday. It would be amazing to have normal cycles again for the first time in years! The pill totally messed me up before DS.

8DaysAWeek · 02/04/2018 19:49

Cherry I'm sorry to hear this Sad not the news we were all hoping for. As they say, you're not out until AF shows (though I know I find it difficult to follow that!). Hoping tomorrow brings good news Star

KurlyWurly88 · 02/04/2018 20:24

Hey - hope everyone had a good Easter weekend, despite the weather!

Boo @CherryO88 - I saw your first picture, and I thought ‘Wow - amazing, 1st time as well’! That line really convinced me, it was so strong!

My periods were sooo heavy after they returned (my DD was 10 months, fed until 13 months), but they did settle down a lot after I stopped feeding. They DID definitely become shorter though (2-3 days), despite being much heavier - I didn’t realise that was a common thing! I wasn’t ttc straight away. I was really worried it would affect fertility. My DD is nearly 2.5 now, so I’ve had a little longer to ‘analyse’ my cycle.

I’ve had a bit of a funny weekend after that faint line on Friday morning! I would have preferred a stronger line - it’s the type of line I’d expect testing at 8/9 dpo rather than the day before AF due!
I didn’t want to get ahead of myself, so I tried to put it out of my mind (as much as I could) as we were travelling to Ireland for the weekend.

Not. A. Hope!
I bought a €3 cheapie the next day (AF due), which came up BFN! The box said 99% positive from day of period.

I put a Clearblue digital in the Tesco delivery whilst away, because I didn’t want to believe it! I tested as soon as we arrived home this afternoon (delivery 1 hour after we got home Grin and it’s come up positive with 1-2 weeks pregnant!

I really hope it’s true (keeping everything crossed) - I don’t ‘feel’ very pregnant yet, but hopefully it’ll come. I’ll wait to test with the spare digi next week - and hopefully it’ll come up with ‘2-3 weeks’ and it’ll comfier. everything is progressing as it should.

I would have preferred the same brand and see that line get darker, but Tesco delivery don’t stock First Response (well for delivery in my area anyway)!

I’ve felt in a bit of ‘no-mans land’ the last few days, I imagined I’d be on cloud nine getting a bfp, but it’s left me feeling unsure and not wanting to get too excited. I do feel a lot happier this evening after the Clearblue response and AF hasn’t arrived so I’ll take it!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 02/04/2018 20:30

Congratulations @kurly keeping everything crossed!

HappyClappyDinosaur · 02/04/2018 20:39

Fantastic kurly! I just found out one of my good friends is expecting, so lots of lovely news. Bfn for me tho, I tried to believe it was due to unearthly early hour I did it, due to ds throwing up at 2am, but AF has arrived. I was expecting quite epic ones after a 21 month break, but first one was only 4 days and light to medium, this one seems to be finishing before it's started after 3 days?! I might try opk this month as I am still bf a lot, and didn't realise you can be anovulatory if af has come back 😕

CherryO88 · 02/04/2018 20:56

Would’ve been too good to be true to get it first go! Trying not to get too disappointed but it’s hard isn’t it!
kurly all normal feelings after your previous experiences but it sounds very positive! The digital isn’t as sensitive as the midstream test so sounds nice and snug! Hopefully you’ll get some symptoms to make you feel more secure Smile

8DaysAWeek · 02/04/2018 20:57

Yaaas Kurly! Those CB digitals aren't very sensitive either so that's amazing that you got a positive on it! Congratulations ThanksThanks

Good lesson for everyone that we really do have to wait for AF to show before we're totally out. You must have implanted later than you did last time.

Fififiesta · 02/04/2018 21:06

Congratulations Kurly, wonderful news!!

Cherry sorry you are out I dont know who these women are that get a BFP first time either but I want to know their secret!!! Grin

Happy sorry to hear you are out this month, try an OPK! I am BFing but it helped to know that I got a positive OPK tho you never know if you ovulate or not really...

No AF and my cramps which were really quite bad have gone away just mild now if anything. Confused AF is due at the weekend and is never early but often late. ConfusedConfused

Fififiesta · 03/04/2018 08:26

So at 6am I thought I'd try a test just some cheap ones I bought online, AF due Friday at earliest.

Thought I might have seen something so woke DH up (sounds mean but he had to get up anyway!) he was convinced it was nothing.

So in TTC-crazy-style Grin I dug out a very old clear blue test which went out of date over a year ago which looked POSITIVE...

...but then faded very quickly and I know they get lots of evap lines so we just forgot about it and got on with our morning.Sad

I went back to the bathroom about 2 hours later and saw I had left my little pot of wee on the bathroom top Blush I think I got overrexcited and forgot!

DH was busy trying to get us all out of the house so I did what any sensible TTCer would do and...grabbed another internet stick and tested again with the same wee Wink

It's only bloody positive isnt it.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 03/04/2018 09:08

Congratulations @fifi!!i thought I'd POAS with an old clearblue digital this morning, BFN in words is so disheartening!

KurlyWurly88 · 03/04/2018 09:12

Awww - thank you ladies! I’m still holding breath, and waiting for a strong positive. My brain is still processing and not allowing to fully accept it yet. It’s a weird feeling.

DEFINITELY wait to test if you can, this has been a lot more stressful than the first time around! Just over 3 years ago now, not being too sure when to expect AF after the pill - I tested a WHOLE week until after withdrawal bleed ‘should’ have been and got such a strong line that I was never in any doubt. It was a shock and the best surprise.

This time I’ve been second guessing myself since estimated O day Hmm these last few months and not sure of my body at all. And feeling gutted when the bfn came up (again and again). Wait, wait, wait if you can! Easier said I know!!!

Hopefully smooth sailing now! Wishing babydust to everyone on the thread, you’ve been a great support for my craziness!
