Hoping to find some ladies in a similar situation to either help keep the crazy at bay... or provide company to safely let it out! Grin

DH and I had planned to wait until May-ish to start trying for #2. Our DD is 15.5 months and we are due to complete on our new house next month so wanted to wait. I am still BF but only a couple of times a day. Periods returned at 8 months and have been every 29-33 days since. Downloaded the sodding Ovia app last month, "just to start monitoring my cycles"... instead I am already devoting an unhealthy amount of time to staring at it and subsequently became fixated about DTD on my ovulation day (usually around CD18-20). Successfully managed to seduce DH during DD’s nap this weekend on CD18 and am now descending into madness checking CM and wondering about every minor twinge! Blush

So I guess we are now officially TTC! The madness, upset and hoping begins again!

Please tell me there are some of you in the same boat?!

My ds has just turned one and still bfing gallons all day and at least twice at night, but just had my first period after 21months, so ttc #2 is go. It took us 2.5yrs of unexplained last time, so am quite anxious!

ImMrsBrightside · 13/03/2018 19:42

I know TheWorst that's what worries me! It took seven months before and that was with us trying each month! This time we're screwed (sadly not literally!) because off the toddler interruptions! Not to mention exhaustion!

Hi Happy and welcome! Great news about your periods - jump on board the crazy train! I only stopped breastfeeding DD at night when she was 13.5 months and just because it was driving me crazy! I often hear people who had trouble the first time are more fertile after having a DC... hopefully that bodes well for you and all of us! 🤞🏻

Any luck last night MrsBrightside??

I have a lot of clear, watery cm today. It's stretchy but not as stretchy as normal ewcm.

Keeping in mind my period still hasn't returned, anyone able to shed light on this? Should I be looking out for it turning into ewcm?

Pinklily1 · 14/03/2018 18:57

Hi ladies

Can I join too? Going to start TTC #2 in April. DC 1 is 18 months old. We got pregnant in our first month of trying get last time, but I worry that that may not be the case this time, think we were very lucky the first time! I’m 35 now but would be 36 by the time baby was born.

DrWhy, I remember you from a thread when I was TTC #1, with Time Shelb, Molliemoocow, potatoes Mum and others!

ImMrsBrightside · 14/03/2018 19:35

Hi Pink! And welcome! I worry it will take ages too 😬

No DTD for us yesterday 😤 We also had some rubbish news regarding the house in that our exchange date has been pushed back to next week due to issues up the chain. With that and DD being ill there was no love in this house last night! Resigned to the fact that I missed this month as think ovulation was CD21 and sure CD18 is too early to be in with any chance 🙁

I'm having mid-week wine... Wine

OP posts:
Fififiesta · 15/03/2018 14:30

Hope everyone is doing well!

MrsBrightside that sounds enough to put anyone off a bit of romance, wine was the right choice!

I'm CD6 and AF has been very heavy Blush but seems to be finally leaving. I have got an OPK this month so going to try that but I will miss some days if I have to work over lunchtime which is when I think you are supposed to test. Oh well might as well try...

KurlyWurly88 · 15/03/2018 15:17

Hello, can I join in too...?
I’m 34 and ttc #2 (2nd cycle)
My daughter is 2.
After lurking on other threads, I downloaded Ovia and Clue last week 🙈.

Last time around, we got sooo lucky I was pregnant without trying, straight off the pill. I’m more pessimistic this time, I want it so much more! I wish we started sooner!

I’ve never bought ovulation sticks - are they worth it? Do they help/make a difference in your chances?

My plan was to DTD everyday of fertile window and see if it works....that would be starting this weekend.

AF due the last day of the month. I’m
So nervous!

ImMrsBrightside · 15/03/2018 15:22

Ugh I find AF to be really heavy after having a baby - not sure if that is 'a things'?! Anyway, glad AF is on her way out Fifi! Let me know how you get on with the OPKs. I am considering using next month so interested in any tips!

ImMrsBrightside · 15/03/2018 15:39

Hi Kurly! Cross posted!

What is Clue? Another tracker app?

Crossing all for your fertile week!

OP posts:
Bluebelltulip · 15/03/2018 19:37

Nearly at the end of my fertile week struggling not to get my hopes up, last time was unplanned so new to trying and therefore waiting.

8DaysAWeek · 15/03/2018 20:14

Evening everyone!

Fingers crossed it's your month Bluebell Smile

I've been having tons of ewcm today and last night but stark white opks. I had an obvious second line for 6 months straight when doing opks whole breastfeeding and now that I've stopped the second line is soooo faint. Driving me nuts. I think my body's just gearing up for something. It's not quite sure yet though! To be fair it's not had a cycle in 28 months so it must have forgotten what to do 😂

KurlyWurly88 · 16/03/2018 09:43

AF is DEFINITLY heavier after having a baby - I always wondered as a teenager in my 20’s ‘who are those xxxl pads and tampons aimed at?’ After my baby I knew!

Clue is another tracking app, but not as detailed as Ovia ImMrsBrightside

Second day of daily DTD.....Grin I’m considering going twice the day before ovulation (according to apps, which are a day out of each other Hmm)

Bluebelltulip · 16/03/2018 09:46

Thank you @8days.

I do find it odd how periods get heavier, although I don't mind too much as mine have also got shorter.

Fififiesta · 16/03/2018 14:18

I didn't realise it was a post baby thing mine have been all very different since DC1 arrived. Last month it was short and light and had days of spotting before but this month has been long and heavy.

Anyway the plan is to DTD every other day all month maybe a bit more around CD14.

Bluebelltulip · 16/03/2018 20:02

Hope things are going well for everyone.

Today I am confused, I'm on CD 16 of a very regular 26 day cycle. I'm getting what feel like period pains but no blood, the only other time I have had this is at the same point in the cycle when I got pregnant with DD.

That time I thought it was the MAP (which was evidently ineffective) but now I'm not sure, not heard of this being a thing before though, has anyone else had/heard if this?

ImMrsBrightside · 17/03/2018 09:11

Hi all! Hope everyone is having lovely weekends!

Glad that it’s not just me keeping the xxxl pads in business! Grin

8Days did you get your positive OPK? Could be that the EWCM is a sign your body is gearing up!

Bluebell definitely sounds intriguing! Could it be OV pains later than you thought? I'm crossing all for you that it's not and is a sign you are up the duff!

Think your plan is a good one Fifi. Wish I could be confident that we would actually DTD every other day - just too fecking tired! Blush

Nothing to report here. AF due next Saturday. Positive we missed it so fully expecting the need for all the xxxl gear! Wink

OP posts:
8DaysAWeek · 17/03/2018 14:04

Even MORE ewcm (to the point I actually though AF came as I felt it come out of me this morning... eww) and just did an opk and it's sooo much darker than last nights. If it's going to turn positive I suspect it to do so tonight or tomorrow. Fingers crossed a wee egg comes out soon Grin

Last night we had a bad toddler night and there was absolutely no way any BDing would have went down. Hopefully he plays ball tonight and gives us at least a couple of hours to ourselves.

ImMrsBrightside · 19/03/2018 08:49

Happy Monday all! My day has started with a 5am wake up call and a monumental poonami, the likes of which haven't been seen since the newborn days of exploding-up-the-back-nappies. I then was late for the nursery run and subsequently my tube so I haven't even had coffee yet!

Hope everyone is having a better start!

How did everyone get on this weekend? Did you manage to DTD 8Days? Was anyone due to test?!

OP posts:
8DaysAWeek · 19/03/2018 10:49

Good morning! Yes MrsBrightside managed on Saturday night, hoping DS will play ball again and allow us to do it again tonight. Your Monday morning sounds stressful!

I'm just out the dental hospital. Have an impacted wisdom tooth and now need to wait another 4 months (waited a year for this appointment) for a CT scan of my mouth. Not even sure if you can get a CT when pregnant? I'm being optimistic that that's going to be an issue for me by then Grin

KurlyWurly88 · 19/03/2018 11:14

How is everyone getting on?

Last day of fertile window here. I might have been a bit ambitious of trying to DTD everyday. We didn’t manage it (too tired) jobs, visitors etc happened over the weekend. Waking toddler doesn’t help (why this week?)

2WW begins tomorrow.....fingers crossed everyone. I’m going to try my best not to test too early, although already googling. (EVERYTHING tells you to wait until the day before.....)

Good luck everyone....

Fififiesta · 19/03/2018 13:21

MrsBrightside yeah I get the tired thing but needs must! We DTD every day the first month of TTC that was too much Blush Sorry to hear your Monday got off to a slow start, I dont miss the poonami days!!

Kurly good luck for this month, did you manage to DTD at all during the fertile window?

8Days that seems like a long wait are you in pain???

I'm CD10 so I guess starting the TWW next weekend, no exciting plans this week sadly, I need a new hobby for the evenings as I if I'm not tired out from work I am b.o.r.e.d.

ImMrsBrightside · 19/03/2018 14:03

FFS - its started already! In the past couple of weeks I have had three friends drop a baby bomb on me! One whose oldest child is ten and this new pregnancy is totally unplanned. The other two are mum friends I have made in the past couple of years, so their kids are around the same age as DD. I've just logged into FB on my lunch break and there is ANOTHER bloody announcement, this time from my cousin (don't see her that often) whose DS is just older than DD. We haven't even properly got going yet - (its only cycle one!) and I'm irrationally panicking (I don't want a big age gap!) and having a complete jealousy attack!!!! Envy Envy Envy Envy !!!!!!!!

OP posts:
ImMrsBrightside · 19/03/2018 14:04

I'm sorry - aware I haven't replied properly to anyone else, will do later I promise, just ranting! What is it about TTC that makes everyone pregnant except you?!?!?!

OP posts:
8DaysAWeek · 19/03/2018 20:41

Nah Fifi its like every month or two it flares up for a few days then calms down. It's so bloody sore when it does but not bad enough or long enough to warrant quicker action apparently!

Aw I know MrsBrightside, it really is one of those things. Also, anyone else get asked loads when they're having their second?? Eh, I'm TRYING MY BEST!!! 😂

8DaysAWeek · 19/03/2018 20:42

Kurly our 2ww is similar. I don't temp so no idea when I actually ovulate (or if I'm actually ovulating) but I assume today or tomorrow. When do you think you'll start testing??
