Hoping to find some ladies in a similar situation to either help keep the crazy at bay... or provide company to safely let it out! Grin

DH and I had planned to wait until May-ish to start trying for #2. Our DD is 15.5 months and we are due to complete on our new house next month so wanted to wait. I am still BF but only a couple of times a day. Periods returned at 8 months and have been every 29-33 days since. Downloaded the sodding Ovia app last month, "just to start monitoring my cycles"... instead I am already devoting an unhealthy amount of time to staring at it and subsequently became fixated about DTD on my ovulation day (usually around CD18-20). Successfully managed to seduce DH during DD’s nap this weekend on CD18 and am now descending into madness checking CM and wondering about every minor twinge! Blush

So I guess we are now officially TTC! The madness, upset and hoping begins again!

Please tell me there are some of you in the same boat?!

Hi all!

Hope everyone who is in their fertile week is managing to hit their target days!

8Days how's your tooth?

Ovia says AF is due Saturday. Clue says Sunday. Today I feel vaguely nauseous and have course have decided that is A Sign. Deep down though I know AF is coming.

OP posts:
Bluebelltulip · 21/03/2018 09:15

My AF is due Tuesday, DH has been asking how early I can test, I'm holding off until Tuesday.

8DaysAWeek · 21/03/2018 11:40

Tooth is fine thanks!!

Don't know when AF is due but I'm going to test a week today. At the very earliest (going by opks and cm) I'll be 9dpo. I know it's early to test but I know I won't be able to help myself so just being realistic!

What does everyone do in their 2ww to keep busy??

8DaysAWeek · 21/03/2018 11:42

How many dpo are you @ImMrsBrightside ??

KurlyWurly88 · 21/03/2018 13:20

@ImMrsBrightside - I feel your pain with pregnancy announcements. They are coming through thick and fast this year! My entire feed is either announcements or baby pictures! I deleted instagram and fb as I was so fed up (for an entire week, then crept back on......).

DH keeps saying its only cycle 2 - it's not going to happen straight away. I just have to listen to him! also listened to him when he said 'let's wait 6 months' 6 months ago

@8DaysAWeek - I've not temped either, nor used ovulation sticks. Ovia and Clue were 1 day out. so AF due 31st - 1st. I'm not sure when to test. It has to be next Thursday (29th) at the earliest I think! I'm going to try and hold out!

I almost bought a pregnancy test in Boots (buying lunch) on Monday 'to have ready' but stopped myself!

Yesterday I ate crap (white carbs, chips) and I was really tired. I actually thought - 'it must be the baby' - before I mentally slapped myself (wink). I feel like such an idiot!

Good luck anyone testing this week!

ImMrsBrightside · 21/03/2018 13:51

I actually laughed out loud at the eating crap baby!!!! Grin I am defo preggo if that's the case - just had a toastie and pack of fruit pastilles Blush

So that answers your question 8Days - I eat. I eat in the TWW to keep busy! I am also crazy busy at work which is good as it stops me from Googling 'early pregnancy symptoms'...

I have a 30-33 day cycle and am maybe 8/9 DPO but then I am not entirely sure when I ovulated as don't temp and no OPKs. Just going off of EWCM and Ovia app! I am not going to even bother testing, just wait for AF as I think we DTD too early and only once Blush

I am so excited for those that are going to be testing though! Surely one of you must have got that egg!!!

Hi everyone!

Long time lurker but have finally plucked up the courage to say hi!

We're currently trying to conceive #2

I started off just wanting to relax and thought it will happen when it happens but have very quickly become all consumed by symptom watching and checking ovulation.

I'm only on CD10 so not even ovulated this month yet but just can't stop analysing everything and it's all i think about. Tell me this gets better Blush I'm hoping I can come on here and use this as my outlet instead of my DH as he thinks it will just happen easily!

Fx for anyone testing soon!

8DaysAWeek · 21/03/2018 14:05

@ImMrsBrightside we only managed to dtd once in the fertile period too BUT it only took one time with DS (and I wasn't tracking at all - oh the days of blissful ignorance).

@KurlyWurly88 it's tough knowing when to test. I am a self certified POAS addict though. I work Monday Tuesdays so I know I'll be fine at the start of the week but when it comes to Wednesday it's gonna be hard to resist. I have a stash of internet cheapies that came with some
Opks I ordered. Won't buy a FRER until I get anything on them.

Having a crap day with DS. At nursery and for his dad he's an angel. He's a wee devil for me though Sad

Anyone have tough days and think why the hell am I going for #2!? Grin

ImMrsBrightside · 21/03/2018 14:12

I sometimes have those moments 8Days but I must admit, even though I want #2, I also worry that I won't love them as much as DD Blush I KNOW this is ridiculous but I worry about that and also how poor DD might feel not having 'all of mummy's attention'.

Welcome Yummum19!! How old is your DC1?

OP posts:
8DaysAWeek · 21/03/2018 14:19

Not silly at all! I know a lot of people worry about that, but from what I see it's never an issue when the baby's here Smile

Hi @Yummum19 !

Yummum19 · 21/03/2018 14:25

Thank you ImMrsBrightside (Love the name btw!)

DC1 is 5 and I have already put this added pressure on myself of wanting #2 to hurry up so there isn't too much of an age gap. 5 years is already longer than i would have wanted but DD has been ill and only really now has life settled down abit enough to try.

I also get what you mean about worrying you won't love #2 as much as DD. I have wrestled with this thought for a long time. As she has been the only one for so long I can't ever imagine sharing that love. But I suppose it isn't shared love, only doubled Grin

Yummum19 · 21/03/2018 14:26

Hi 8days ! I hope your day gets abit better!

HappyClappyDinosaur · 21/03/2018 22:37

Oh gosh I'm eating all the carbs and sweets too! Ds is feeding constantly though with teething and being a total beast. 8days yes! Terror for me and angel for dh and Nursery!!!! My ovia tells me my fertile period ended yesterday but have major ewcm today, dh is away though 😣 I haven't used opk yet as only only month 1. The not being stressed about it is so hard!

Fififiesta · 22/03/2018 13:53

HappyClappy that sounds rough, can you DH have him for a bit more time so you can get a break?

MrsBrightside I dont think any child likes to share their parents attention but I also think that having a sibling is a good thing so I'm not worrying about it!

I am CD13 and bought an OPK but no positives yet but I couldnt test yesterday or Monday. I think this should be fertile window though. What do you guys do about DTD during it, do you do it every day or just when you feel like it?

8DaysAWeek · 22/03/2018 14:01

Fifi I like the every other day approach personally, but with a young DC it's more like just doing it whenever you can 😅

HappyClappyDinosaur · 22/03/2018 15:03

Not really Fifi but I'm back to work soon and he's just settling into Nursery, so hoping normal service resumes soon! Last time we went for every day in fertile period, but we're going for every 2-3days (when possible!) all month now, until I know a bit better when I'm ovulating. Did anyones cycle length change much after dc1? I used to be bang on 28 days

Kintan · 22/03/2018 15:19

Can I join in too please? We are on cycle 6 of TTC #2. DS is 14 months old. Starting to get a bit worried now as it only took 3 months last time!

HidCat · 22/03/2018 15:45

@HappyClappyDinosaur I was 35 days before DS 1 and 30 now. Apparently it's quite common for cycles to change as we get older.

Welcome @Kintan. You got straight in there after DS! I'm sure #2 won't be too far off.

KurlyWurly88 · 22/03/2018 16:18

Hi new recruits @Yummum19 and @Kintan [waves]

Why are toddlers angels for everyone else, and naughty for you! Mine is exactly the same! I also wonder what it 'll be like with 2, but I think it'll be great (and tiring....) I always tired - what am I signing up for?

Confession time for me (and anyone else). Who is symptom spotting, despite it being waay too early?

I'm convinced myself that I'm getting implantation cramps, and that I feel 'just a bit nauseous' with a metallic taste in my mouth.

Strangely enough it was at exactly the same time as I was reading 'early pregnancy symptoms' online last night in bed Hmm. I promised myself I wouldn't - and I did....

Why am I doing this to myself?

I thought I would confess here, rather than DH (who would just tell me off). I hoping to find out next week whether it's in my head or not.

I feel ridiculous - none of this happened last time, as I wasn't looking out for it (or even trying)!! I think it was a full 10 days after AF was due I tested! I'm lucky I don't test a full 10 days ahead of AF this time!

@8daysAWeek - if I had a stash in the house, I couldn't help myself. I would be POAS already!

Planning to buy FRER on the same day I test....in the meantime I'll occupy myself symptom spotting, lol!

And not working (like I should be right now.....)

Fess Up anyone else, don't make me feel like a crazy lady!

KurlyWurly88 · 22/03/2018 16:18

Or is it really just me??

Kintan · 22/03/2018 16:21

@HidCat @kurlywurly88 thank you! We thought we’d better get a move on as very close to 40! One of my NCT group has just announced their pregnancy and while I am v happy for them, I felt a definite pang if jealously which I didn’t think I would!

My cycles have shortened too after DC1.

8DaysAWeek · 22/03/2018 18:20

Haha @KurlyWurly88 I'm doing my best not to symptom spot! I have it in my head that the wee egg isn't even implanted yet so as soon as I start with "ooh maybe that means..." I snap myself out of it!

Come Sunday when I'm 7dpo it'll be a whooooole other story!

How do we all feel about alcohol in the 2ww btw? 🤔

Yummum19 · 22/03/2018 18:26

How accurate do you guys find the OPK’s? I would have expected that I’m close to ovulation but getting negative results. What are the other signs I could be looking out for?

Still trying to get to grips with it all. I fell pregnant straight away with DD so this is all new to me.

8DaysAWeek · 22/03/2018 18:53

@Yummum19 this is my first month of using them properly and I had about 4 days of ewcm before they started to darken. It was so frustrating because the second line was barely visible and wasn't getting any darker for a long time. Essentially I had ewcm from the Tuesday, didn't get darker until the Saturday (when I got an almost positive) then finally turned positive on the Sunday. I had ewcm until Monday. So they were pretty accurate for me in terms of synching up with other signs. I don't temp though which would obviously give more accuracy.

Bluebelltulip · 22/03/2018 19:23

I'm trying not to symptom spot @kurlywirly.

I stopped drinking alcohol at the end of last AF which probably isn't necessary.

Toddlers do know how to make us question ourselves, had the worst night in a long time with DD last night which made me hope that it doesn't happen with two of them.
