TTC #1, Cycle 1. Anyone In?

Hi all,
Longtime lurker, occasional commenter, rare poster here.
DH and I decided to start to TTC after much deliberation recently.
I've been on the pill for 16 years and haven't had a natural period in that time! Had my withdrawal bleed which started on 15th Jan and think I may have ovulated on Thursday 2nd Feb. I was doing OPKs (I know - first cycle, but if I'm going to do it, I'm going all in!) and got an almost-positive then - didn't have any more OPKs with me to test slightly later in the day.
DTD numerous times in what I'm estimating is my fertile week (working on the basis that my cycle is 28 days but don't really know at the moment).
So now the waiting begins.
Anyone in the same position or want to join?
Advice and your stories welcomed!

Went and got a packet of tests that contained tests! BFN. All those pre-af symptoms were trying to tell me something! 🙈😂
Hopefully AF will at least be on time and my cycles will be looking nice and regular.

So... new reader and dipping in the glamorous pee cup rather than POAS I'm back to negatives? 🤔

My first cycle after coming off Cerelle in November was 35 days - then I had 118 days before my next AF. So the "Clue" app must be just as confused as me...

Should I give up on the ovulation testing if I get 3 days of negatives? Just keep testing and trying every other day till I see a peak smiley? Keep testing and trying till I'm through the "fertile window" that Clue predicts? Keep testing and trying till AF so I don't miss my real fertile window?

@Mipha have you got another test to double check if AF doesn't arrive? I'm a "bright side" person so here's hoping you've maybe just tested a little early.

@sailorcherrie I think that if you change reader you will automatically go back to low fertility for at least the first one as it is assessing your baseline. I would be tempted to test again tomorrow and if no flashing smile then try again next month.

@Mipha, how helpful to buy tests that actually have tests! 😂 sorry about your BFN, but it could just be too early! Fingers crossed for you.

I’m CD20 now, hard to keep my mind from wandering to when I can test haha. Gonna try to just wait for AF.. can’t crack too early in my first cycle!

@sailorcherrie 118 days!! You must have just been going crazy! Now a normal cycle will hopefully just fly by for you 😊

I had a little emotional break down in the middle of the night last night. DH came home late and let me know I'd left the oven on for hours! This caused a panic in my head, if I can't even remember to turn the oven off how the hell am I going to keep a baby alive! DH was very sweet though.
I know I want kids but any one else also slightly terrified about it too?
I think when we get a BFP the first few minutes will be excitement, the next panic! 😂

@orangekitkat13 I’m with you!! I so want a baby but then there’s days when I’m having a little down day and think how am I gonna deal with a baby.. but then I spend some time babysitting my nephew and I’m like ok I can do this😂😂
It is terrifying though as I can give him back to his mum my own I won’t be able to do that 😂😂😬

@sailorcherrie and @emdoc thanks for the PMA! Had a bit of pinkish-ness when I went for a wee earlier and have been having proper cramps. Damn af. It was a 2-pack so if af isn’t here properly by tomorrow I might use the other one, otherwise it will do for next month!
@orangekitkat13 I feel this way also. In fact before I tested yesterday I was a bit like ‘would a bfp totally freak me out?’ And I think it will when it happens, even though I want it so much!!

Well I caved and tested this morning and I'm pretty certain it's a BFN 😭 I'm only 10dpo so I know I'm not completely out yet, but I've been having lots of cramps and I really thought this would be my month 😭😭

Don't lose hope @jemimafuddleduck ! So many people have said that sometimes implantation doesn't even happen till 12DPO and then sometimes a test doesn't show BFP till way after AF missed 🤞🏼😊. Rooting for you!

I'm in what I think is my 2WW🙄CD 47! I ov'd on 12th-13th (I think) - had a positive LH test on 11th AM. I don't feel that strange😒. Sore nipples and sorry if TMI but they are constantly hard 🤣(much to DH delight🙊😂). A bit of a dull ache too. This morning having funny cramps like AF is getting ready to come but I think it's a bit early for it so I'm going to not try and get carried away with the idea of it being implantation. I'm going to try and not go mad and test too early too! 😣🙊

Am I too late to join this thread? AF due imminently then will be TTC #1!
I have horribly long cycles and a subclinical thyroid problem, so may be here for a while!

I took two tests this morning, one I can't see anything on but one I can see the tiniest faint shadow... I inverted them and again can see a tiny line. I couldn't see anything in real life though and I think I'm just imagining things...
