Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

• Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day

• Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

• Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

• Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

• Thou shall not be offended by strong language

• Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams

• Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

• Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Tramp stamp 😂 I used to use alcohol until one night I drank an entire bottle of gin and had a three day hangover. Now I can’t go near alcohol without feeling a bit sick haha

@bubble that made me lol about the tattoo punishment! I might get a couple of new ones this year too when af arrives. Not every month but a couple.

@wonky I too am the not so proud owner of a trampstamp. Couldn’t bear the pain of getting it covered.

I’ve got one on the back of my neck (a little geometric lotus flower) and a small deathly hallows on my wrist. I need more and stupid af is a perfect excuse. Will cheer me up no end. Chocolate just doesn’t cut it anymore :(

Bubble, that's the problem, I don't when I ov'd. My normal 29-day cycle should have been over on Saturday. I'm cd34 now. My two longest cycles have been 33 and 34 days. I have spotting before af about two thirds/three quarters of the time. I had one instance of spotting this cycle on cd16, so assumed ov was around then.

Of course, the lounger it goes on, the more I think the frer I took on Sunday was a false negative and just too early. But it course it wasn't. My first bleed after my mc was after cd36 but I used opks so I knew I'd ovulated three weeks after my mc.

Sorry for the full ttc history there. I just don't know what to think. I've been living my merry life as normal, drinking alcohol and caffeine, doing yoga. Now I'm worrying if I am preggers I'm putting it at risk and/or if I start bleeding in a few days I won't know if it's another miscarriage. I'm thinking of poas tomorrow morning. I hate seeing bfns but at least it'll help me stop worrying and help me know that af is on its way.

And I didn't mean I usually spot at ov, I meant I usually spot 1-3 days before af. But no spotting this cycle, except that one instance at cd16.

Sooz to start off, the stuff you do in the first few weeks of a pregnancy don’t really matter so much as the embryo doesn’t rely on you for anything. Lucky for me as I was binge drinking at freshers week when I was about 3 weeks pregnant (and blissfully unaware) so don’t worry too much that you’ve been drinking and things. But yeah, that must be so annoying :( I would wait until cd36 and if you haven’t started af, take another test. I get you about the negative tests though, I don’t even bother doing them anymore. The disappointment is just too much.

bubblegum a tattoo is on my list for AF treats too! My husband thinks it's a stupid idea, but I'm doing it anyway. Waiting til April though (check out that optimism. Pffff... I know I won't be pregnant by April, so I think my tattoo is going ahead as planned).

I find it so bizarre how some people forget the struggle so quickly. It takes them years of pain to get pregnant, then post every little detail on Facebook. I guess it's their right to be excited, but can't they have a little more compassion, and assume others might be struggling like they were??!

I think I spoke too soon... Af probably turning up tomorrow. :(

NewSense we’re booking a holiday for August for the two of us while my DD is away in Florida with her dad. THAT’S how optimistic I am 😂😂 what tattoo are you thinking of getting?

My first will be a cover up of a tattoo I got at 13 🙈 it was the year my grandad died and I got a
God awful rose. It really needs covering. When DD was born I got a swallow. Sailors used to get a Swallow tattoo to celebrate surviving a long sea journey. DD was the result of a long TTC journey so it seemed apt to go with that as a constant reminder.

June my lotus flower was a symbolic one. They grow in muddy waters and bloom above the surface which is a metaphor for my life lol had a lot of crap stuff happen to me but I always come out the other side a stronger and better person :) I want a mandala on my shoulder as my next one I think

Bubble, I just wiped and had the smallest, smallest amount of slightly-coloured, af-type cm, if that makes sense! So not spotting, but cm that makes me think "af".

You guys are tempting me to get an angel for my angel now! I think DH would struggle with it though.

Oh no sooz I know the type of cm. I hate when you do the “danger wipe” and hope for just a second nothing will be there and then you look and there it is :( I suppose if af does come, at least you can move on to the next cycle which will hopefully be a little less confusing as this one and could you get something that symbolises your angel baby that’s not obvious? So something that’s personal to you that your OH wouldn’t necessarily realise what it was about?

It's the whole tattoo thing he wouldn't like, I don't think. He's happy for me to remember our baby in other ways. I might wait another 3-4 months, as he's said he's not going to worry about ttc until then. He thinks because I've been preggers once then it could likely happen again so has set a deadline of sorts, so we know when to move onto the next thing. So after that, he may be more willing to see me tattooed!

Got to make sure my parents don't see it though. I may be 36 but it'll be like it was when I was 18 and got my lip pierced...

sooz my dad told me off for getting a tattoo. I’m 28 lol my OH is the positive one as well. I suppose it’s a good thing in a way. Hopefully he’ll come round to the tattoo idea!
