Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Welcome and welcome. We’re all very nice and friendly despite being horrible bitter old cows ☺️

@milk we’ve had the full NHS GP tests already last year in August, then we got a bfp in September. I’m not sure if the GP would do them again or how long it would take for further referrals. I spoke to the clinic yesterday who said they could get us in within a week and have the test results back within a week. Costs for his/hers initial testing and results consultation is £650

Dammit, accidentally symptom spotting! Super sore boobs (same as last 3 cycles) wind 💨 and had stabby pain in 6dpo, now on 9dpo. I.Must.Not.POAS!

Bubblegum89 · 17/01/2018 15:40

Getting real sick of people posting their bfp’s on here after only ttc for one month... 😒

@Bubblegum89. Flowers

LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/01/2018 15:52

@RhiBee29. I never get sore boobs. When I've been pregnant I only got them from 6-7 weeks. I think I'm odd lol.

hellotoyellow · 17/01/2018 16:45

@Bubblegum89 Flowers

@Milknosugar1 we had all the tests except tubal patency (HyCoSy) done in less than a week last summer. I should probably get on and have tubal patency done although I’m pretty sure I’m low risk for problems and it’s £500.

Big hugs to you all.

Can I moan a little? I had a late AF last month and got about 50 BFNs. I have not been late at all before, ever. So not only am I out of pregnancy tests, but my (intercontinental) trip to see DH this weekend is now several days too early. And I spent the weekend with my family who kept asking when I was going to stop being so career focussed and get pregnant (we agreed not to tell really anyone that we were TTC, but after a year the nagging is now a bit challenging). Kind of wondering if I should just tell them but am a bit scared of the reaction - my parents are pretty judgemental of these sort of things.

@bubblegum sorry you’re struggling with the bfp’s 🤗

@milk so pleased you got an appointment today. Good luck with the tests. Can I ask how the bleed differed from a normal period? I know what you mean about planning your life. That week in October we’d planned a full life with 2 children, and that did make it even harder to accept when the mc started.

@milk I remember you saying now! Definitely sounds like it was something abnormal. Don’t worry was just settling down to toast with jam......😂

ChobiChibi · 17/01/2018 18:38

Can I join too? Have been TTC since June of 2016 after removal of coil and 2 MCs, but we have been "properly" trying for the last 5 months (tracking with OPK and BBT). I'm in my TWW... and I'm going absolutely fucking mental! Help me...

WonkyDonk87 · 17/01/2018 19:04

Hello @ChobiChibi - hope you don't hang around with us long, don't worry about the FW madness- we all get that. Use to your advantage and er.... have fun!

@MynameisJune Jam.... Shock what a mental image!

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 17/01/2018 19:12

Evening yammers. Turns out not only was AF particularly cruel this month by showing up late but I also have a nice dose of thrush (sorry tmi). The icing on the cake! Hopefully can zap
it before fw commences.

Motherofkats · 17/01/2018 19:34

HEllo ladies, I’m new to this and think I need some moral support!!! We’ve been trying for a year now. One early mc at 5 weeks in August 😢😢 every month is so long. I keep thinking surely we aren’t doing this wrong!!!! Why isn’t it working?!???

SoozC · 17/01/2018 19:55

Still no sign of af here. Really fed up, stoopid mc, messing everything up.

Bubble, I really want to ask MNHQ for a separate 'long-term conception' forum. It's hell having to be thrown in with all the lucky first-month bastards, completely demoralising. I wasn't even on here my first month or three, I was too busy enjoying the excitement of possibly making a baby. It was only after 9 months that I really started to lean on these forums.

It's nothing more than attention seeking. I have a boy in my class at school who did the same thing today, just dying for someone to look at him, make a comment, anything.

It makes this whole process worse, having fucking bfps rammed down our throats. They all think they're the only ones but they never stop to think that actually they're just another one in a never-ending line.

/rant

Bubblegum89 · 17/01/2018 20:27

I totally agree Sooz either a LTTC forum or a forum solely for bfp/is there a line posts. I don’t understand why people feel the need to add about how they have only been trying for one month. I understand it’s a conception forum and for everyone who’s ttc not just us long termers but you’d think people would have some common sense.

There’s a girl I know who was ttc for a long time who is now 20 odd weeks pregnant and since she told everyone ALL she ever posts about is about pregnancy. Maternity leave, changing her surname to match the baby’s, anxiety about parenthood etc etc. And fair enough, it doesn’t bother me too much because she’s been where I am and I’m happy she finally got pregnant. Then today she posted (knowing how I feel about 1st month bfp’s) about how her best friend just announced she’s pregnant after only trying for a month and now her baby will have a playmate. Like, ffs, of all the people who should know how hard it is to see people just getting pregnant at the drop of a hat while others are out there struggling, I thought she would get it. Clearly not. It’s all so sucky.

SoozC · 17/01/2018 20:37

It's true, you never know how long-term ttc feels until you've been through it, is the same as having a mc. Strange that someone who struggled has now forgotten their struggle but that's probably just excitement taking over. I like to think I'll never forget how hard I have it currently; I know for certain I'm not going to be posting on Facebook about my pregnancy, if I every the slightest bit of luck and get pregnant again and manage not to lose it.

Bubblegum89 · 17/01/2018 20:40

Same. I get the excitement but why go out of your way to post about your friend conceiving on the first try, why not just say they’re pregnant? Oh well. I unfollowed her anyway, I won’t have any fb friends left at this rate haha. How many dpo are you now? Must be so annoying waiting for at :(

OP posts:
LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/01/2018 20:43

@Bubblegum89. @SoozC Mmm, I don't like the attention seeking "Can you see it?" even if it's glaringly obvious that you can!!

I have a friend, so to speak, IRL and she is always saying insensitive things like "Is flo here yet?" and "Look at my adorable new born pictures" it's like...yeah...thanks, you know I lost a baby and am now on the seemingly never-ending flo-sex-poas-flo line! She had a baby before Christmas - bfp on first try and she's 9 years older than me!

The best thing was the other day when she just randomly said "We did it without anything another night, we just thought what the hell" I'm not going to lie, I actually had to make an excuse to leave the room. I know what's coming next, in about 8 weeks time she'll say "Guess what! We accidently got pregnant on that one try".

I know that sounds bitter. I just hoped that by the time by baby's due date came around that I would be pregnant. I should be 32 weeks this week.

@SoozC. Im sorry you're being messed about. My periods have been a pain in the ass since my mmc. I swear they are getting longer and longer! I'm due on Saturday but we will see!

Bubblegum89 · 17/01/2018 20:47

I’m so sorry about your losses, ladies :(

Also, people can just be utter dickheads.

OP posts:
MynameisJune · 17/01/2018 20:47

There should be a separate sub thread for posting tests pictures. So many ‘is there a line’ when there is clearly a bloody line!

WonkyDonk87 · 17/01/2018 21:09

Music to my ears ladies. Someone I know was aggressively against people asking her about kids after her marriage because it was rude/presumptuous/none of their business/insensitive etc.... until she got up duffed. Now there's a blog. About EVERYTHING. She had her own TTC issues but it's a bit 'hey, it's all good in MY hood now eh?!' ..... unfollowed.

Bubblegum89 · 17/01/2018 21:12

wonky that’s like my friend. She’s pregnant now so she’s not really bothered about being sensitive to others now because she’s got her baby.

I’ve decided that every time my period shows up, I’m going to go and get a tattoo. Just a small one obviously or I’d run out of room very quickly. Like a little treat to myself at the same time as puncturing my useless body with a needle thousands of times to teach it a lesson about who is the real boss here lol
