ORCHID - oh god that sounds awful Shock

Did the doctor say there was anything that can done regarding a shirt cervix? How stressful that must be to hear. At least there was good news for you through with tubes being clear. Take it easy tonight and look after yourself xx

MATTSMAMMA · 22/03/2018 16:44

Short cervix!!!

Orchid222 · 22/03/2018 16:48

Lol. Yes she said they can stitch it up and that's what I read online, apparently a short cervix is weaker and doesn't close during the pregnancy so they can stitch it up to close it to help the pregnancy going. At least I found out now often that's not looked at until it's too late and 20-25% of later miscarragies are caused by that apparently. At least I'll be able to get something done to help me along. Anyway I emailed the clinic that a out tests are completed so waiting for an appt hopefully if won't be long.

Orchid that sounds awful! Glad you are ok now though and have some answers. So is a short cervix something you have always had? Or its gone that way? No idea how these things work!

Orchid222 · 22/03/2018 17:52

Thanks Cleo yes it wasn't pleasant so glad it's over! I told the doctor no one had ever mentioned the short cervix to me before so I was surprised to hear it. She said maybe in the past it was fine and it's short now. When I asked what could've caused it she said a surgery but I didn't have any. I'm still not convinced so I'll be looking to get another opinion.

Cleozeta · 22/03/2018 18:00

That's strange! At least if it is a problem you have a solution to help it. Next step IUI?

Orchid222 · 22/03/2018 18:15

Exactly. Well I'll wait for the fertility clinic appt and see what they say but often appt is not until May I'll be tempted to do IUI privately.

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 22/03/2018 20:59

Is is not private already? Can you get IUI on NHS?

BooseysMom · 22/03/2018 21:33

Jusy catching up with msg's and didn't realise how many there have been! Thanks to all for the usual pep talks! Orchid..you are right of course..the fact i'm even posting on here means i must deep down want it. It was the same with the first..we'd dtd once maybe twice during the fertile window then i'd get cold feet and not try again so poor DH had to go without for weeks even!! Then one night i couldn't be bothered to get up after dtd and went straight to sleep. ..then what happened was totally unexpected as i wasn't testing and thought i was out of the fertile phase as 3 months later we found out we were expecting! ! I went mad ..hormones and nerves combined..but as soon as we saw DS on the scan it became real and exciting. The pregnancy was great .. Heartburn was the worse thing ..but like Keepingthefaith says i was cheated out of the amazing birth experience as it all went wrong so i was determined that the next time it would be different. But then you can never predict what will happen. I also dream of being pregnant again and wearing lots of lovely maternity clothes as i swear i can't remember what i wore whilst pregnant except Next maternity jeans which i held on to and a black maternity top..that can't be all i wore surely! I look in the Jojo Maman Bebe catalogue and get all upset. Does anyone else do this? Along with OBEM that's something else that's gonna have to go!!

KeepingTheFaith9 · 22/03/2018 23:01

Well done Orchid, good news that they picked up the short cervix issue sooner than later for sure. Hope you get jiggy soon!! Amazing that they can tell you are just about to ov!! Boosey yes I still have quite a lot of maternity clothes 😢 can’t bear to part with them as some I never even got big enough to wear!! X

Orchid222 · 23/03/2018 08:16

Cleo my HyCoSy was on NHS. I very much doubt I can get IUI on it but thought I'd see if there are some drugs or something they'll suggest before diving into IUI.
Mimosa- I read yesterday you have better chances of conceiving in the 3 cycles after HSG/HyCoSy so you still have 2 cycles with increased chances.
KeepingTheFaith yes it's great they can tell when ov is coming. I guess without it they'd struggle to do many things like IUI for example.

I am hoping my flushed out tubes and everything else along with ov on the right side (as opposed to my left the last few cycles) and TCM will give us the miracle we're hoping for. We'll see.

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 23/03/2018 09:07

Fingers crossed for you orchid! I will be intetested to hear what they suggest for you.
I am still being baffled by my temps. Continued doing it this cycle just out of curiosity as it is so different this time. Still super high. I wonder if the TCM has changed something. Still don't know what day I ov'd either. Guess only af's arrival will answer that one!

MATTSMAMMA · 23/03/2018 09:44

BOOSEYS - yes I still have a flick at the maternity section when I get the new Next brochure delivered! I’ve still got my maternity clothes and Baby clothes. Can’t bear to part with them and it’s ridiculous because I know everyone keeps certain things but I’ve just kept too many. Each time I go to sort them I get too emotional and just put them back.

ORCHID - keeping fingers crossed for you.

JoJoyorker · 23/03/2018 10:22

Good luck orchid and little, I've also read you are more fertile after them. Is this a standard thing they do on nhs? I have my gynaecologist referral in April so interested to know. Is it something you asked for?

Orchid222 · 23/03/2018 11:45

Thank you ladies! Would be amazing to get lucky in the last cycle of trying naturally.
JoJo-apparently you won't always get it on NHS, depends on the area. I was lucky that the fertility clinic at my local hospital required a HyCoSy along with blood tests and sperm analysis before the initial appointment.

OP posts:
Karigan1 · 23/03/2018 17:38

Hope it works for you!

Orchid222 · 24/03/2018 08:26

Mimosa, were you told not to ttc this cycle after HSG? I asked the doctor on Thursday and she said it was fine but reading online many women were advised not to do it same cycle as it increases chances of an ectopic pregnancy. I'm worried now because I'm about yo ovulate and we've did a couple of times already not sure if I should stop or keep going. 🤤

OP posts:
Orchid222 · 24/03/2018 08:27

We've dtd not did

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 24/03/2018 12:03

Has anyone doing TCM been requested to make an appointment for specifically when af starts to have a new prescription start then? Just wondering as I have been asked to return on a specific date after he saw my 'unusual' temp chart this cycle. So far it's always been standard weekly or 2 weekly

Orchid222 · 24/03/2018 12:43

Cleo yes I get different herbs on cd1

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 24/03/2018 14:07

Ok! Just wondered as so far always just been 2 weekly. Although I think af may be coming early. Which is interesting as that means ov was cd14 so no idea what the really low 2 day temp dip was at 4dpo or the ov pains I got on that day. Weird.

Orchid222 · 24/03/2018 18:54

I am SOO confused! I must be read everything there is online about ttc same cycle as HyCoSy and I'm not any wiser 😥 Many say they've been advised not to try right after others that they were wished luck one even had IUI done 6 days after HSG (have to investigate if the fluid they use is the same for both). So I'm really struggling to decide whether to continue being over the weekend or stop for this cycle and hope what we've done so far won't result in a BFP. I want to go with the doctors opinion who said it's fine but I'm scared after reading things online 🤤

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 24/03/2018 19:48

I'd just go with it and dtd anyway. Would be a shame to waste a month

JoJoyorker · 24/03/2018 21:17

I think I would go with it and try especially if your doctor said it was ok to.
