Part the third:

Welcome all anti-fertile fuckers! This is our clique for those trying longer than 6 cycles and are pretty fed up.

Here are our Fucked Off TTC Commandments

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to other when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

Our spreadsheet which includes what supplements (and potatoes) we are trying in our journey to motherhood.

@Bubblegum89, I sent you an invite! Check it didn't go to spam!

SoozC · 21/11/2017 00:21

That thread... I really wanted to say something but I am so not in the place to do that right now. Fuck BFP first-monthers who almost certainly won't miscarry.

Bubblegum89 · 21/11/2017 00:31

Oops it was in my junk folder, my bad. Thank you! And you’re right Sooz it’s always the way isn’t. Fucks me right off :( smug bastards Flowers

I can’t get to sleep because I’m googling how to wean myself off nasal spray, I’ve been using it every day for 2 years :/

micropig · 21/11/2017 00:41

@Bubblegum89 well accepting that it's an issue is a really big step, well done. Hope you've been able to find some info, please also speak to your doctor about it x

Bubblegum89 · 21/11/2017 00:49

@micropig thank you. I’ve not been to a doctor because I’m too embarrassed! I’ve been reading some tips online though so I’m going to try them out first. It’s horrible not being able to go out anywhere without making sure I have my nasal spray with me. My partner goes mad when he sees me buying it haha x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 21/11/2017 07:28

My DH is doing a semen sample on Friday. Anyone know how long it takes to get results? I’m worried he will take it badly if it is a sperm issue.

Si1ver · 21/11/2017 07:48

I think my H's came back in a week Squirrel.

@Bubblegum89 when I was quitting smoking seven years ago, what really worked for me (and I know this isn't for everyone) was to have my cigarettes and lighter in my handbag at all times. That way it was my choice not to have one. All I did was think 'I'll have one later' and I kept postponing it. It meant I never panicked about not having them with me instead I actively got to make the choice about whether I wanted to use them or not. Good luck.

Tiredofbeingsotired · 21/11/2017 07:55

Morning all, and thanks for the new thread @LimpLettice Will catch up properly now.

I’m on CD3 today, after AF fannying around (pardon the pun) with brown spotting, then nothing at the tail end of last week. Just enough to get my hopes up, and start me googling. Now I’m just keen to get on with my OPKs.

Still smarting a bit after DHs Aunt was rude/ insensitive on the weekend so am trying to be super healthy this month too.

Invite to FB group would be fab please.

LimpLettice · 21/11/2017 08:31

I think i’d like to join the secret fb group if I can work out how to do a message from the app Smile

Bubblegum my daughters dad had a terrible problem with otrivine drops a few years ago. They are amazing when you have a cold but his sinuses are buggered and he ended up totally dependent on them. The difficulty was that they make the symptoms worse so coming off them was a total mission. Honestly, he basically went to bed for 3 days and treated it like terrible flu, and eventually it did settle. Good luck.

Bubblegum89 · 21/11/2017 09:12

Thanks limp and si1ver I’ve always had bad sinuses and then a couple of years ago I got a terrible cold and so I started using Otrivine and I was able to breathe properly for the first time in forever so I just carried on using it but now I have awful rebound congestion. I have to take my bottle with me everywhere and sneak to the toilets to use it. Once I went to a wedding and forgot it and the whole day I couldn’t breathe, it was horrible. I use it 2, maybe 3 times a day now. I don’t know if I have the willpower to take it around with me and not use it. I’m thinking I might try only using it on one side to give myself a bit of relief and once the other side has been weaned off, I’ll stop using it altogether. I swear it’s partly psychological, sometimes I’m breathing fine and then it pops into my head that I don’t have my nasal spray or that I havent used it in a few hours and my nose suddenly blocks up. It’s scary how addictive it is!

Also I’m sick to the back teeth of that bloody “summer babies vs autumn babies” thread. People planning to try at certain months so they will have their baby in their preferred season. I’d like to say as if it is that easy but it probably will be for them. Fuckers.

DoAsDreamersDo · 21/11/2017 09:15

Bubblegum that thread annoyed me too! She's pregnant too, of course!! FFS

LookingAtTheStars89 · 21/11/2017 09:21

@Bubblegum89. My baby should of been born in Spring (gasp! Are spring babies even allowed?!) and I couldn't have cared less when they had been due. And now we are trying again I don't give a ! I just want a healthy baby in my arms. Sod when they are born!!!

Bubblegum89 · 21/11/2017 09:25

Oh she’s pregnant. Of course she bloody is. Ffs. Some people just piss me right off.

LimpLettice · 21/11/2017 09:41

SoozC I believe I have pm'd you. But I may not have done haha.

I can never believe those threads. FWIW, I am a September baby, my brother a late August baby, and yes, it probably did make a difference, but 40 years on, its bubkes. There are whole forums devoted to trying to get a boy or girl as well which just confounds me.

We've given up on balp for now. We have managed every 36 hours since beginning of last week. Opk was +ve sunday, but I dried up last night so I think ov was sunday night / monday, so dtd last night and thats bloody enough! We are usually every day people when we are together in the week, but too much pressure. One more cycle after this and then I am throwing out all opk's and deleting all apps. Probably haha.

I’ve joined the FB group!

Spotting stopped yesterday on CD 6, 7 days til O which means cracking on even though I’m in a grump with DH for making plans on the day of O.

Quite frankly, I couldn’t give a flying fuck what month my baby was born in, I’d just like one! almost as shit as when the blood test nurse told me that she had 5 boys and wishes she’d had a girl, then proceeded to ask me my preference Hmm

JUST A BABY, THANK. Any kind, I don’t even care if it has a tail and webbed toes.

LexieJean · 21/11/2017 10:00

@limp where do you find the energy to dtd every day! 😂

LimpLettice · 21/11/2017 10:14

One of the bonuses of being an old hag I think Lexie! My libido is much higher than it was when I was in my twenties and early thirties. It is also always much higher when I am on no contraception.

OP posts:
Si1ver · 21/11/2017 10:14

@LexieJean it's energy born of desperation Grin

Yes, ANY BABY WOULD DO. When we started I was all "well I think I'd prefer a girl, and ideally I don't want to get pregnant until after May..." Blah. I kind of pity how horribly stupid I was back then.

My mum kept telling me at the weekend that we need to relax and I know she means it kindly but I did think of you lot as I Paddington Bear stared the fuck out of her.

LexieJean · 21/11/2017 10:19

Ha! @si1ver I was just exactly the same... oh I’d love a girl... I’d prefer a spring/summer baby/wouldn’t want to give birth on xmas day. How naiive I was.

My mum keeps telling me to ‘have fun’! Waaaay past that point!!

SparkwoodAnd21 · 21/11/2017 10:21

I’ve sent you a pm too @sooz. Thanks for setting up!

At the beginning of fertile week here. DTD this morning and will again tomorrow night and that’ll probably be it as I’m away til Sunday. 🍆

Bubblegum89 · 21/11/2017 10:22

Paddington Bear stared 😂 and it’s BS anyway. My daughter is a July baby and she is ahead of pretty much all of her classmates. She is top in maths and English and gets consistent top marks. She is very bright and has been even since she was tiny. I know winter babies who are thick as shit haha. It’s got nothing to do with what season you’re born in imo. And I have to agree with the LITERALLY JUST ANY BABY WILL DO. It can be born on Friday 13th for all I care. It’s reay pissed me off that she’s pregnant again though, especially after reading her first post again. I don’t even care that that sounds bitter lol

Si1ver · 21/11/2017 10:26

I'm with you on the bitter thing. I also finally get the yam reference. Shock I was all reving up to post something like "bitch you said what to Soozc?!" Then I checked the dates.

My mum keeps telling me to ‘have fun’! Waaaay past that point!!

My husband is lucky if I do more than assume the brace position these days.

LimpLettice · 21/11/2017 10:34

My mum got pregnant both times literally the only night she tried, and loves to tell me it won't happen if I wind myself up. Death stares there too. Both brother and I were born 9 months and 5 days after significant dates, but she was in her early 20's then. I got pregnant v easily with DD, started trying Xmas, m/c in Jan, bfp mid March. So when I had the m/c after a couple of months of trying this time, I just sort of assumed it might go the same way, but no.

Ahahaha at brace position, S1lver that is hilarious.

OP posts:
Bubblegum89 · 21/11/2017 10:44

I got pregnant with DD while I was on the pill lol. I missed one. ONE! I’d only just turned 18. I got pregnant on the pill again a couple of years ago (hadn’t even missed one!) but it ended in a termination due to a number of reasons beyond my control. Now I’m in the exact right position, my physical and mental heath is great now, but nope. Nothing. I always tell myself that it’s my karma. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. It’s the thing that keeps me up at night the most. Got to say I’m sick of people saying “well at least you get to have loads of sex which is really fun!” Clearly these people have never ttc. Nothing less fun and sexy than having to say to OH whilst you’re both slobbing on the sofa “oh yeah I’m about to ovulate so we should probably have sex.”

Oh and Grumpy my OH’s semen results were back within a week

lostintranslocation · 21/11/2017 11:05

I shouldn't have read that other thread. Good to know about the yams though. So THAT'S where I've been going wrong for 4 years... I mean, I do eat yams, but clearly not in sufficient quantity.

But I'm not sure I should up my yam intake just yet. I don't want an autumn baby. I'm aiming for a...

Heck. Some people!!
