@looking worth getting it checked out Hun 👍

Fillybee · 14/11/2017 22:24

@di626 I guess she was trying to be reassuring but sounds like might have been a bit frustrating... are you planning to crack straight on?

Zoo33 · 15/11/2017 07:11

How long did it take for the exhaustion to go after your miscarriages? It’s now been two weeks and the bleeding has lessened considerably, so it’s still relatively early days I know.

Flatwhite32 · 15/11/2017 07:22

@LookingAtTheStars89 really hope your GP says yes to blood tests.

@Zoo33 it took me about a month to feel better, but I had quite heavy bleeding afterwards. Feel better soon. Xxx

NoCatsHere · 15/11/2017 13:03

looking defo get yourself checked out.

grumpy sorry to hear your think your out and spotting has started.

flat this is so random so apologies! But this month was it the one where you thought you'd ov really late and you had to dtd st your parents?!! I just wondered if you'd done anything different this month.

So I'm now in the 2ww. Just one measly day past ov. Here goes the hopeful twat....

beanhunter · 15/11/2017 13:06

So I had a crap day yesterday. Repeat scan after the awful bleed shows a low of endometrial polyps and now I need them sorted before we can ttc again and I'm on progesterone to suppress periods until then as I can't bleed like that again.

Juancornetto · 15/11/2017 13:55

Oh @beanhunter what an absolute shitter Sad Did they say how long it would take them to get them sorted?

Purplepjs · 15/11/2017 14:17

Hi all,

bean, I'm so sorry they have found polyps. Urgh, its so frustrating. But at least they have found a clear reason for the bleed...that sounded really scary. Have they said how quickly they can remove them? Sending a hug.

Wise ladies, I wondered if I could canvas your opinions...and apologies in advance for tmi and long post!

My husband has a disability (spinal cord injury) that affects our chances of conceiving, predominantly because we can't conceive in the normal way (we have to do a sort of home insemination type affair). Without boring you with too much detail, we can only really dtd maybe twice a week, so essentially 2 chances to get the right time to conceive. Its also likely that if we dtd 2 days in a row, the sperm quality on the second day would be poor.

So, every month we have a loooooong debate about which days of my cycle to have a try! We wonder about 1) day one of permanent smiley face on clearblue OPK, miss a day then day after; 2) day one and day two of permanent smiley (risking lower sperm quality, but getting closer to ovulation), or 3) try to pre-empt positive OPK and do day before and then miss a day and do day 2 of permanent smiley face. 4) some other option altogether????

Aaarrrgh....we can never decide!! And go for a different theory every month!! I hope that makes sense?? What would you guys do? I don't mind if you all have different opinions, I'd just appreciate your ideas as we're driving ourselves mad debating things from different angles!!

I have a nearly positive from IC OPK and a flashing smiley today (about day 5 of flashing smileys) and have got some EWCM for the first time this afternoon, so am thinking I might get positive tomorrow, so we need to decide on this month's theory today really!!

Thanks so much, and apologies again its so rambly!
xxx

beanhunter · 15/11/2017 14:49

Hoping in next month

Daffodil77 · 15/11/2017 17:18

@purple I think today and Friday. (Assuming you haven't done it yet this month) HTH. And good luck!!

Flatwhite32 · 15/11/2017 17:38

@NoCatsHere yes it was this month! Most awkward DTD ever! Haha! That was at the weekend. We then DTD 3 more times at home when we got back (Mon, Tues, Wed) although DH didn't, erm, 'finish' on the Wed, probably due to feeling under pressure. We had also DTD the previous week on CD 10, at which point my IC OPKs were negative, but Clearblue digi ov test was flashing smiley. Got static smiley & positive IC OPK on CB digi on the Monday, when we were thankfully back from my parents! According to CB digital ovulation test and IC strips, I ovulated on CD 17 (6 days later than in my previous pregnancy), but a Clearblue digital pregnancy test I took today says 2-3, not 1-2 as I was expecting, so who knows! I know the weeks indicator on the CB digi pregnancy test isn't always reliable though.

Things I did differently were taking vitamin B6 as well as my usual folic acid and vitamin D, cutting out caffeine completely and taking baby aspirin up until ovulation. DH also started taking a multivitamin everyday.

I am so so grateful to have a BFP, particularly as my cycles had been odd since my MMC with no AF symptoms apart from the bleeding itself. I sometimes feel guilty about it, like I don't deserve it somehow when there are so many other people out there having difficulties. I'd also had lots of spotting in between cycles which I hadn't experienced before my MMC. I'm so nervous though. TMI, but I am constantly knicker checking and every pain makes my heart race. Just got to try and take each day as it comes.

Flatwhite32 · 15/11/2017 17:39

@beanhunter I'm so so sorry to hear about your crap day. Have they given you a plan of action about the polyps? I know this won't make you feel any better, but I'm sending lots of love your way. Xx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/11/2017 17:41

purple (i have no clue where i read this) but apparently the sex that most commonly results in conception is 2days before ovulation. I personally would do today and Friday?? Xx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/11/2017 17:42

Oh i didn't even seen you also put that dafodil hehe!

NoCatsHere · 15/11/2017 18:07

flat thanks so much for all that info. I might try baby aspirin next. Don't feel bad, we all deserve our bfp son here. Really hope all goes ok for you, please do keep checking in. X

bean I'm glad they found out what was wrong but sorry to hear all your news. Hope it gets sorted soon.

purple I think dtd before ov stands in better chance than the day after your first static smiley. I too agree with the others and would do it tonight and Friday. And maybe each month aim to guess 2/3 days before ov as it's proven sperm lasts for 5 days, then always dtd on your first static smiley. Then you should stand a good chance. Good luck!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/11/2017 18:12

I also completely cut caffeine!!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/11/2017 18:12

Sorry haven’t kept up. CD2 here and I’m definitely taking this cycle off ttc for my mental health among other reasons, including not wanting to be 6wks pregnant at Christmas with potentially reduced hospital services. Starting trying again after Christmas. My baby’s due date (10 Dec) is around the time I would be testing this cycle so can’t face that either. Best of luck to everyone x

thank you ladies....guess we all know what i'm up to tonight then!!

Grumpy i think that sounds like a good plan. After our miscarriage we decided to take the summer off and while initially I thought I would feel frustrated by that, it was actually really really good not to be thinking about it all the time; it was a very good break. I hope you manage to relax during this time; do lots of nice things for yourself and recover. x

NoCatsHere · 15/11/2017 20:16

grumpy you’re so wise. I took off a month too as we were going away and I didn’t want the stress of not enjoying meats and cheeses etc abroad, as well as wine! It was so nice to switch off and not think about it every single moment. And like purple said it was relaxing rather than frustrating. Enjoy xmas and hope to see you in the new year. Hugs for your due date, it is a really hard date to get past.

Fillybee · 15/11/2017 21:04

Sounds like a good plan @grumpy. Hope you enjoy your time off and do lots of nice things including drinking all the mulled wine! xx

Fillybee · 15/11/2017 21:10

@purplepjs I’m sure I’ve read that sperm need 12 hours to ‘mature’ to be ready to fertilise the egg. Then also the egg is only good for fertilisation for 12 hours after it pops out. So you need to dtd at least 12 hours before you ovulate. When you get positive ovulation stick that means your surge is picked up so you will ovulate in approx 24-48 hours... so I reckon when you get your positive and the day after are the best bet. That’s what tends to work for us x

Fillybee · 15/11/2017 21:12

@beanhunter that sounds like a bit to get your head around... hopefully they’ll be able to sort the fibroids asap so you’ll be better in yourself and able to start ttc again soon x

Purplepjs · 15/11/2017 21:58

Thanks filly. X

Zoo33 · 16/11/2017 08:49

Thanks @Flatwhite32.

I’ve got a scan today and have worked myself into a bit of a state worrying about retained products (I think that’s such an awful, heartless phrase) as I’m still getting on and off cramps. I really just want this all to be over so I can move on. Sorry, feeling rather self absorbed today.

I’m really sorry to hear about those of you who are struggling with things. @TheGrumpySquirrel I’m sure the break this month will do you good - drink lots of mulled wine and enjoy the time off! @beanhunter Sorry to hear about the polyps, I hope you’re okay.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/11/2017 08:52

Thanks everyone. AF has finished after a record 1.5 days (literally 36 hours) so will definitely bring it up with the doctor tomorrow.
