10 mins x 31 sets of parents. We do it over 2 nights. Given that my heart is absolutely NOT in my job at ALL right now, I'm dreading it. I just hope no parent turns up pregnant (unlikely though, as I teach 9 and 10 year olds). I honestly couldn't handle that!

beanhunter · 26/09/2017 07:23

Flat - sounds horrendous!

So opk even darker this am so guessing that's my positive?
When does that mean I will/have ovulate? Confused!

rachelandthenoodle · 26/09/2017 07:39

Ladies, a little off topic, but I figured you were the right crowd to ask:

For those of you who have already passed your original due date, what - if anything- did you and your OH do to mark or recognise the day?

Mine is Friday.

I always planned that we might be able to announce a new pregnancy by then, but clearly that hasn't happened...so just looking for some inspiration. Thanks!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 26/09/2017 07:41

Bean you ovulate 12-48 hours after the peak of the LH surge (positive OPK). So you need to keep DTD on the day of the positive and 1-2 days after it to be sure. I have researched this extensively! And the most common is 30 hours after the positive (not sure how they know this??)

OP posts:
Flatwhite31 · 26/09/2017 07:42

I think you have 48 hours at the most @beanhunter although some websites I've read say 24 hours! It seems to vary. When I had a positive OPK on the cycle I fell pregnant, we DTD that day in the evening, again the next morning and I think that evening again. 48 hours later the OPK was negative.

beanhunter · 26/09/2017 08:36

Ok so we did last night and will do tonight then. I'm not going to test again as I think it will do my head in!

NoCatsHere · 26/09/2017 10:09

rachel mine is this wednesday but I'm not doing anything in particular to mark it as such. Partly because i have children already and don't want to confuse them. I'll probably just light a little candle over dinner and my OH hasn't forgotten the date so to be honest we'll probably just have a quiet evening, knowing what the date is and being connected. More an awareness of what life could have been this week, not what we have lost if that makes sense?

and bean the others are right, now i look at it on my computer (not crap phone screen) it wasn't quite a positive...but sounds like you've got it this morning which is great, but yes i'd count it that you'll ov soon and just dtd now when you fancy to cover your chances!

I'm 5po and definitely not symptom spotting!!!! Oh please let this be my month!!!!!! I know it's ridiculous to even think i can get signs this early, and we only managed to dtd once anyway, and i never really have symptoms, so i'm just clutching at straws!

NoCatsHere · 26/09/2017 12:12

Also was thinking about @lime19 the other day. Anyone heard from her? Hope you're doing ok lime, and all is well with your pregnancy, think about you often.

Flatwhite31 · 26/09/2017 12:16

I've started to bleed again Sad

rachelandthenoodle · 26/09/2017 13:12

Oh no, @Flatwhite31 - where are you in your cycle?

GreyCloudsToday · 26/09/2017 15:08

Hey all, may I join?

I'm TTC number 2 and have just lost a pregnancy at 6 weeks. It's my second consecutive mc and third overall. I'm feeling that awful imperative madness obsession to get pg that I always feel after having a loss. I tend to work year-long fixed term contracts so timing does really matter for me, if no pg during this 'window' then I have to put it on ice for 6 months etc... Though tbf now I'm over 35 and have suffered 3/4 miscarriages I'm not sure if I can really afford to put work first anymore(!)

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 26/09/2017 15:11

@NoCatsHere That makes sense. It sounds lovely, no matter how low-key it is :)

@Flatwhite Aww I'm sorry. It seems that even when you think it's all done with and you've gone through one milestone another thing comes up to hit you in the face

KerryLeanne84 · 26/09/2017 16:08

Welcome GreyClouds - I'm so sorry you've experienced so much pain, my heart goes out to you ❤️ I agree about not putting work first, put yourself first!

beanhunter · 26/09/2017 18:58

Flat my period was v on and off so I don't think I would worry unless it's really heavy.

I've had a shocker of a day. Email results that baby had no chromosomal problem to explain our miscarriage at 12/40. Followed almost immediately by a pregnancy announcement from a colleague who is 14/40. I should be 19/40. Oh and then payroll forgot to pay me. I don't like today.
Only positive is im being seen in mc clinic as a cancellation tomorrow because I've been able to be seen as they are counting my 2 ivf failures taking me to 4 consecutive mc.

Flatwhite31 · 26/09/2017 19:42

Welcome @GreyCloudsToday. So sorry you are joining us on here, but it's super supportive and everyone is lovely.

@rachelandthenoodle I had 2 days of super heavy bleeding last Wed and Thurs (this was 26 days after ERPC) then unlike a normal period, it didn't 'tail off'. It was just really heavy then 'switched off' like a tap. Today it's back on CD 6. It's bright red, and when I wee the toilet bowl is red. Thankfully it's not as heavy.

I'm not too worried @beanhunter. I'm just sick of the constant reminders that my baby is no longer. I'm also knackered, as since my ERPC (5 weeks ago this Fri) there has only been about 2 weeks where I haven't bled. Energy levels are low! I felt like I kept 'zoning out' at parents' evening tonight. I was hearing the parents, but not listening properly if you know what I mean.

KerryLeanne84 · 26/09/2017 21:15

Oh bean 😔 What an awful day, I'm so sorry! I can see why finding out there was no chromosomal issue would upset you ❤️

rachelandthenoodle · 26/09/2017 21:21

The reason I asked is that I had similar. Mmc at 10 weeks (ish) and discovered at scan at 13 wks. Surgically managed miscarriage three weeks later (had to wait to see if nature kicked in and also for second scan) and then bled for about ten days...heavily at times. Then all stopped and so I got myself excited about ttc again...and started tracking for ovulation. At what should have been about midway through that next cycle, instead of a positive opk I got bleeding. Similar kind of time to where I think you are at..maybe? Anyway, that went on bleeding for four more weeks. Kept asking for a scan, kept being told there was NO possibility of retained product and it was just my body adjusting. Week four I started getting labour pains (identical to when I went into labour eight years ago with my son) and expelled an enormous clot that turned out (subsequently) to be the placenta. I bled for another week or so after that and then FINALLY my cycles started to get back on track. It was horrid. So what I guess I'm saying is that I wish I had fought harder with the various medical professionals who patronisingly told me not to worry. You know your body- if you don't think this bleeding feels right and like it's still part of the heeling process, go and push for a rescan. I was told by the EPU that the only reason they don't routinely rescan after ERPC/D&C is that 'most' of the time they get all the 'product' (fucking hate that word) and so there's no need and so they save costs by not scanning. If you're in any doubt, go to your EPU and ask.

rachelandthenoodle · 26/09/2017 21:22

Shit. Sorry. I meant to tag that post for @Flatwhite31

BlueeSpottyTiger · 26/09/2017 21:31

I'm still here, I'm a reader atm, Lurking away. Love to all who are having a hard time atm and goodluck to all xx

Flatwhite31 · 26/09/2017 21:34

Thank you so much @rachelandthenoodle. Really appreciate that. I rang the doctors the other day and was told not to worry. They said they'd ring back today to see how I was, but they must have forgotten. I've got an appointment anyway, but it's not til next Tues.

Meant to say, so sorry to hear your news @beanhunter Sad. This process is such a minefield. Xx

Glitterbug76 · 26/09/2017 21:34

Hi all – I hope you don’t mind me writing on here.

I’ve been following the threads for the past week or so. I’ve never read, let alone written on anything like this but reading what you guys are going through is similar to me so I thought I would join in if that that is okay. Sorry to hear about all of your losses and struggles. Here’s my story (rather long to start but I think it’s good for anyone else experiencing similar or who may experience similar in the future to see that other people are also going /have also been through it). It has definitely helped me.

First pregnancy - I had a MMC at 6-7 weeks (I started having some nagging pain on one side so thought I best get it checked to check it wasn’t ectopic). Turned out the baby was in the correct place but they couldn’t find a heartbeat. The baby was measuring around 6 weeks but the sac was 7 and a half (which is where I should have been). I had to wait a week before going back for another scan which confirmed there was no heartbeat. The reason for the pain was found to be an Ovarian cyst which I was told was not anything to do with the MC so if it was not for this pain I would like lots of you, waited until my 12 week scan to have found out.

I had a ERPC on 7th August (I would have been 10/40) which apparently all went well. 4-5 days after this I had lots of stomach cramps / contraction type pains. I managed to get back in with a consultant 7 days post op – after several phone calls (2 days before going on holiday to the South of France!). They found I had a big infection and a new scan showed they had left a lot of placental tissue which had a large blood flow. I was then told to wait for 2 weeks to see if I pass this naturally. So I then spent 2 weeks on holiday – still bleeding, unable to swim etc due to risking more infection! = Great holiday :-S

So on getting home… I had a scan on the 5th September to find that nothing had changed… my second ERPC was the 7th September (exactly 1 month after the first)! I am now nearly 3 weeks after my last ERPC and I stopped bleeding after 10 days – FINALLY after wearing what feels like nappies for nearly a month!!! Fingers crossed I am now on the mend and I am now waiting for my first AF. It definitely feels different after this last op. We are going to TTC straight away… it took us over 9 months this time so I’m hoping it doesn’t take as long.We will see.
My body (and mind) feels like it's been on a roller-coaster since the beginning of June!!

Haybay1 · 26/09/2017 22:05

P.s. Sorry again for the Essay!!! :-S

KerryLeanne84 · 26/09/2017 22:36

Gosh haybay- that absolutely sucks. I'm so sorry that happened to you but I'm glad you've found us.❤️

TurquoiseDress · 26/09/2017 23:51

Evening all, hope everyone doing ok.

On CD29 and my temping chart was causing me to remain in hopeful twat territory Confused however I've just started pink spotting this evening, this pretty much always happens before AF.

So fucked off with all this shit, TTC 14 months after a MMC...pregnant women everywhere, at work, in the shops, smoking outside hospital Hmm

Gah I just want to drink gin now...which is what I'm doing Gin
