TTC after recurrent miscarriage

Hi, just wondering if anyone else was in a similar place to me and wanted to chat about it? I'm 30, TTC my first and have had three miscarriages, all early (two natural MCs at five weeks, then a MMC where a scan at 6+5 revealed development had again stopped at 5 weeks). I've had RMC tests and am just waiting on the results of that but hoping to be able to TTC again from my next period, which should come any day now. I've found throughout the whole thing (have been TTC just over a year now) that it's really helped me to chat with people in similar positions, so if anyone wants to be TTC buddies please let me know!

I'm not even sure what cycle day I'm on since I've reset my phone and not yet reinstalled fertility Friend! Am in airport trying to guess who is Scottish and who is German without hearing them talk.

Good to hear from you mog. How many weeks will you be at your scan next week?

Bertie I'm impressed about your lack of knowledge about what cycle day you are! Hopefully the lack of spotting is a good sign. I can't remember, is it a girly weekend you're back for?

fox how long are your cycles normally? Well done for holding off on the POAS.

Hello again, going to have an attempt at personals now I've tried to get up to speed with the full thread and everyone's back story (please forgive any mistakes).

Foxtrot - so sorry to read of your BFN (but there's still time for that to change ...) , and glad your friend shared that info about her previous losses and that meeting the baby was okay.

Anne - are you using a type of monitor that gives you green days (Persona?) or is that just a turn of phrase? I hope that the family event this weekend isn't as bad as you fear ...

Mog - fingers crossed for your scan coming up next week and I hope you're feeling okay - I know the anxiety sort of builds the nearer you get to the date.

Keepon - I remember reading the uterine septum thread a while back and feeling so saddened by your story so far - but now really glad to hear that your surgery and time to recover afterwards is out of the way. Hope the post-hormone AF isn't too hideous.

Karen79 - so sorry to hear of your losses, it's just incredibly unfair that you have to deal with difficulty conceiving alongside pregnancy loss.

Bertie - I've also encountered your story on other threads - I believe that you or your DH has a balanced translocation, correct? Fingers crossed for a positive airport pee!!

Miami - I was absolutely gutted to read of your loss of your beloved daughter. It's so sh*t and horribly unfair.

Lisa - still sending doubling vibes...

AFM: AF has arrived today, I think (bright red, increasing flow = probably not just spotting), 4 days after my course of progesterone finished. Really delighted to see her (very rarely i say that) but now wondering whether ovulation will play ball or not ... I was annovulatory for about 7 months after my last D&C so my body has a history of refusing to cooperate!

I second fox. Amazing job on the personals Schnitzel!

My cramps are better thanks fox. I think I had just forgotten what a proper period was like to be honest!

Schnitzel I hope your ovaries behave themself this time.

Hi Ladies

Sorry to interrupt, I went through this 30 years ago, 7 in a row after my son was born.

I was chronically messed around, was referred to the Jessop Hospital in Sheffield, which was supposed to be cutting edge. The only thing they were cutting edge with, was loosing my notes and test results.

I never did achieve a second child and it broke my heart.

But 30 years down the line, I’m kind of grateful, don’t have a great relationship with my son, got sick of being used to bale him out, he had no ambition, we are comfortable but certainly not wealthy, but sure he’s waiting for us to die so he can cop for the lot.

I wish you all success, but it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t happen and don’t let it define who you are.

Much love

di626 · 17/11/2017 08:35

Brilliant Fox!! Congrats!! How many dpo are you?

Woo fantastic Fox how exciting.

Hoping for good news for you today Lisa

I should be 13 weeks. Really should leave you lovely ladies and move away from conception thread if it is all good news, but I've not had any interest in anti natal / pregnancy chat and didn't want to leave here only to come back.

Allison - Good to know it hadn't been a constant regret for you.

keeponrunning85 · 17/11/2017 10:34

That's great fox! No need to apolgise. Fingers crossed it is a sticky one.

We seem to be on a roll! Who's turn next week?

Mog I hadn't realised you were that far along already! Although I'm sure it has felt like time has been crawling along for you.

Not sure if it is just me, and I know people mean well, but I do find some of the posts from people who just drop in a little odd some times.

AnneLovesGilbert · 17/11/2017 10:46

Oh wow, Fox, massive congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! What fantastic news! Smile Delighted for you.

AnneLovesGilbert · 17/11/2017 10:56

Mog, I've lost track, have you had your scan? I can't tell you how happy I am it's all going well for you and you've been such a nice support to us here, thank you. Enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can, look after yourself, hold tight baby Mog x

Lisa, thinking of you this morning.

Bertie, have an awesome weekend! Fx Af stays away.

Yep, don't get it at all keepon, I know MN is an open forum but this is a pretty niche thread and it's unhelpful and inappropriate when people jump in with whatever weird theory or ideas they have on the topic.

Good work schnitzel! Grin I use Fertility Friend which is a great app if you're temping. Have a feeling I'm going to ovulate early this cycle. Thanks for your wishes for the weekend, sure it'll be okay. DH is out tonight so I'm going to cook and watch bad tv, have a bath, have a glass of wine, rest and renew before the onslaught! How are you doing?

SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 17/11/2017 12:02

Foxtrot brilliant news - a bfp like that as early as 10 or 11dpo (based on your static smiley) is a great early sign...

LisaSimpsonsbff · 17/11/2017 12:28

Congratulations fox! Great news!

Thanks for the good wishes all. I have tentatively good news - it was up to 887 yesterday. Doctor was spectacularly crap - me: oh, that's good news; him: well, it doesn't tell you anything this early. I don't know why they agreed to do this test - but I'm trying to let myself feel a little hopeful. I'm trying to tell myself that 'trying not to get your hopes up' doesn't help anyway - it's impossible to do, and you still feel upset when it goes wrong, no matter how 'prepared' for it you are.

Lisa!!!!!!!!! That's gone up loads! What a relief. Ignore the stupid arse doctor. It's a fantastic result at this stage. Screw him. Miserable git. They run those tests to see what's going on, and it sounds like it's going well!

What's the next step?

That's a great increase Lisa!

SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 17/11/2017 14:27

That's brilliant Lisa - a very good early sign.

Most GPs don't understand betas. Until we started having losses, my DH (a GP) didn't know a thing about them.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 17/11/2017 14:38

Thanks all. Obviously much too early to get excited about anything (I'm only five weeks today!) but I was so expecting bad news that it's nice to know we still have a chance.

Feel a bit mean - GP wasn't crap, I suppose, just not very understanding about my situation. He said 'I don't even understand why you're worrying like this so early. Can't you just wait for the scan and see what happens?'

OP posts:
SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 17/11/2017 14:46

Um, I think that might still qualify as being a bit crap. If a GP can't imagine the stress of losing pregnancy after pregnancy, and wanting a bit of early information about which way a new pregnancy might be going, then he hasn't much imagination / empathy.
