Thanks yellow, I told myself I would just relax and let nature take its course but I can't not know ovulation date it seems! Also didn't expect FW to be this early so didn't take any OPK with me, but AF was 2-4 days early.

emvy · 24/08/2017 16:48

To those discussing weight - I'm 46kg and at my midwife appointment today, she didn't seem fussed at all about it. As others have suggested, find foods you enjoy. I also have some vanilla protein powder that I put in breakfast smoothies/overnight oats if I have an active day planned. Although I'm small and struggle to put weight on I usually love food! Not so much at the minute with the nausea, but generally. Try not stress about it all too much!

Grumpy, sounds like you're having a great time. The vitamins when you get back will be fine and I hope the chilled vibes set you on track for a bfp this month.

Turquoise, I'm so sorry you're having a tough day and are unsure what the future holds in terms of fertility treatment. How long did it take ttc your LO?

So my midwife appointed turned out to not be booking in - she's coming to my house on Monday 4th to do that. She just gave me a form, pregnancy pack, referred me for my 12 week scan (with a very sweet note saying that I was incredibly anxious after a mmc), and that was that! She was really lovely though and very sensitive and understanding of the miscarriages and how they're making me feel about this pregnancy. Left feeling pleased but a little disappointed I'm technically not booked in yet! EDD is 12.4.18.

@emvy
Thanks for the kind thoughts.

Well I was 34 when I first fell pregnant- had been taking the pill for 15 years almost non-stop.

Had withdrawal bleed, then had unprotected sex once....then waited for AF...and waited...and was in the 2nd trimester before I tested! Blush

LO is now 3 years old

Last year aged 37- exactly the same thing, withdrawal bleed after stopping the pill, one off shag and pregnant straight away.

What got me through the MMC was the thought that I'd (surely?!) be pregnant again within a few months, 6 at most. Lol not quite the case.

That's why I'm baffled, based on DH's sperm results, that we ever managed to conceive in the past!

emvy · 24/08/2017 19:25

Well that's why I asked, Turquoise! And twice straight away, too! It does seem surprising. It must mean that's it's possible though, so I suppose that's a good thing. I understand why you're at the end of your tether though after waiting for so long now Sad I really hope you get some strong swimmers again soon, or are able to find fertility treatment that's right for you x

weasledee · 24/08/2017 21:29

Urgh! Can I ask how long people took to get their first period after medical management?? (I was 14 weeks) It's 4 weeks tomorrow since I went through all that so I'm now waiting on the period so we can start trying again.

Elpheba · 24/08/2017 21:50

Mine was 6 1/2 weeks and since then I have had really long cycles (42 days when I had more of a 28-30 day cycle before).

I'm having a grumpy day as soooooooo many of my good friends are now announcing pregnancies (and even not so good friends too) and because of work stuff we can't even really TTC until next cycle so at least a month away and I'm worrying about all of the things to come and if we struggle to get pregnant etc... just a bit woe is me!
Agree with the theory of eating going one of two ways and I'm sadly in the comfort eating club. Trying to get healthier and lose some weight before TTC and have lost 10kg so far so am pleased with that I suppose.

Emvy I'm glad the midwife appointment went well and that she was kind. Even if you still have the booking in appointment to go it's good all the tests and referrals have been started.

Elpheba · 24/08/2017 21:51

Oh sorry weasel see u didn't read it clearly- mine was after ERPC so that may have made a difference and I had retained tissue too for a week or so which may have made an impact... hope you don't have to wait too much longer though.

Just wanted to pop in to say hello to all the new people - I'm so sorry for your losses, and that you have to be here at all, but I hope you find it a supportive space.

@TurquoiseDress. I'm afraid i can't remember exactly what it is (he was treated last year and also 4/5 years ago but i don't know the %) but it's definitely low. A fair few of it days are similar but we've not got pregnant quickly.

I'm 37, DH is 35.
Also have a LO age 3. We tried for 2/3 years. Got referral to NHS IVF. Went for initial tests which showed i was fine but DH had low sperm count. Got letter for proper appointment to make a start they fell pregnant naturally to our shock.
Started trying straight away as had taken a while first time around. Went to IVF clinic and same thing with tests. DH had to go on vitamins for 3 months and i had to get rubella vaccination as i wasn't immune. Fell pregnant naturally again but then had MC at 10 weeks in January. Been trying since but nothing.

Doc said that at 32 my eggs were able to cope more with DH's low sperm but that it gets harder the older i get..... I'm keen to try IVF but DH not- we could probably afford one round but what pressure on that one round....!

swimchick1980 · 25/08/2017 01:32

*tested not treated....

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/08/2017 10:10

Hi guys. How is everyone doing today? Checking in to report a positive OPK today, very early, CD12! Lots of EWCM too and we have 3 more days of holiday so very pleased about the timing!

swimchick1980 · 25/08/2017 10:33

Nice timing Grumpy - enjoy the rest of your hol.

I think I'm out this month. CD23, have had sore boobs the past 3 days or so and yesterday had pinky/orangey discharge so HT mode was strongly engaged thinking it might have been implantation bleeding. Late last night though i had some more red blood and today i feel a bit crampy so resigned to AF arriving properly in a few days time with some spotting/light bleeding between now and then. I swear i never had this much bloody build up to AF before my MC, even when we've been TTC before!! Anyone else in the same position??

halloumisandwich · 25/08/2017 10:39

Good news grumpy! I think AF (if it was AF) has finished so I'm planning to enjoy the bank holiday weekend and then get back to peeing on sticks next week as I've no idea what to take as CD1 what with all the random bleeding. Hoping for lots of BFPs in the next few weeks.
I have a counselling session this afternoon - I self referred to a local charity that deals with pregnancy loss as I'd been feeling so down and anxious about everything - It really hit my self confidence and generally fairly positive outlook. Feeling more upbeat today and like a fraud for using their services which must be pretty in demand, but I think it'll be good for me to feel I'm taking steps to fix myself in some way. I'll report back if there's any useful words of wisdom.

Flatwhite31 · 25/08/2017 11:01

Great news @TheGrumpySquirrel. Enjoy!

I'm currently in hospital waiting for them to prepare a bed. ERPC this afternoon. Starting to get really nervous.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/08/2017 11:28

Good luck @Flatwhite31 thinking of you

@halloumisandwich you are not a fraud, it's what they are there for x

swimchick1980 · 25/08/2017 11:39

Good luck FlatWhite - Hope it all goes as well as can be expected.

halloumi, you're definitely not a fraud. There will be some days where you feel more able to cope than others. Just make sure you tell them what you have been feeling - as Grumpy says, that's exactly what they're there for.

beanhunter · 25/08/2017 11:47

Hope all goes ok flatwhite. Mine was 2 weeks ago today and I feel physically totally back to normal. Almost pleased the hyperemesis has gone. Still getting bfps though so need them to disappear Over then next week so we can try again.
Can someone tell me how ov sticks works? I've tempted before but not done this.

halloumisandwich · 25/08/2017 11:58

bean I'm still fairly new to them, but you can order a load of cheap ones off Amazon. You use one a day from a few of days before you think you ovulate (so say e.g. CD11) and then keep using them until you get a positive - where the second line will be as dark or darker than the control line. I find the best time to use them is around 2pm, but others get better results other times of the day. And it's best if you can not drink too much / go to the loo for a couple of hours before using them. Once you get the dark line, it means you'll ovulate within the next 24 hours or so, so it's all systems go on DTD!
I find it useful as I'm a bit of a control freak so I see it as a way of having some control over this TTC process, but it's not for everyone. And the logistics of having to do it at work can be a bit tricky!

KerryLeanne84 · 25/08/2017 12:19

Good luck flatwhite - not that you need it! You're in excellent hands and it will all go really well I'm sure. ❤️

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/08/2017 12:37

Thinking of you and sending calm and reassurance FlatWhite x

Fab news Grumpy! Enjoy Smile Excellent timing.

Hope it's helpful halloumi, go with an open mind and see what comes up I reckon. Definitely report back if you'd like to.

Wishing your BFN hurries up bean, sorry it's taking so long, but glad the sickness is easing.

yellowfrontdoor · 25/08/2017 12:51

Thinking of you Flatwhite

Get on it Grumpy! Literally, get on it!

Bean I love opks. They're fantastic if, like me, you have ridiculously long, irregular cycles.
I tend to start them a week after my period, and date the packets so I see the progression (I use one-step opks from Amazon). I personally use one at lunchtime everyday, but if I think I'm really close to a surge (getting very dark tests lines) I'll use two a day. I love opks, I'd be lost without them.

yellowfrontdoor · 25/08/2017 12:52

Ok so reading this back I sound like I'm being sponsored by them... I'm not honestly!

But if any One Step people out there fancy sending me a batch, pm me!

Flatwhite31 · 25/08/2017 13:02

Been here for over two hours and not even in a bed yet as there are none free. As I'm still unfortunately getting pregnancy symptoms, the hunger is making me feel sick. Can't wait until today is over.
