Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

I've just googles super ovulation. Does he offer that? Does it lead to more twins xx

Take4 · 02/09/2017 21:42

Hi
My partner is a taking the Fertilsan as above but not the Proxeed and is booked to see the specialist under Dr S recommendation - a worry and more £££!! We are older so not surprising we're hitting some hurdles but with time against us we just need to crack on with it all! Very annoying though.......

SophS88 I too was massively into fitness and training and for the last year have done virtually nothing apart from eat, glad to hear I'm not alone. Watching my body change has been hard but I've just been too scared to overdo it or put my body under any undue pressure, hasn't felt right.

Anyway enough of my drivel, back to Game of Thrones......

LunaB · 02/09/2017 21:43

Thank you Dr Soph the Sperm Specialist 💓

Yes he does that, but not to make twins - I'm not fully familiar, a couple of the girls have done it (*Harriet, you did it I thought!?)

SophS88 · 02/09/2017 21:45

My friend posted this... and it genuinely sums up my current life!

Still got to put up with these hairy double chins for that end goal 😘

LunaB · 02/09/2017 21:58

🦁 🌝 💖 It'll be worth it babes

choochooo · 02/09/2017 22:29

Hi can I join please? I'm booked in to the clinic end if September to start investigating. 3 mcs in the past 6 months.

Feeling pretty isolated as most people don't seem to know what to say to me, or they are pregnant and I'm hiding.

Would love to join if possible as I'm not sure who to talk to anymore.

SophS88 · 02/09/2017 22:36

Welcome Choochooo. I'm a newbie too :). So sorry to read of your losses- I really hope you can get some answers.

Totally get where you are coming from re feeling isolated. I've pretty much stopped talking to the majority of my friends about any of it and I just keep things private as they just don't get it. I'm on the period tracker app forums too and I've found those really helpful too- lots of the ladies on there have been through so much (not necessarily nk cell issues so this group seems perfect for Mr S patients). I find I'm enjoying my online friends far more than my in the flesh ones! Xx

Seekingmiracles · 02/09/2017 23:36

Fantastic news drttc! I'm so pleased all is going well!! And all without the drugs!! Amazing!! Sorry you're still feeling rotten, hopefully it'll pass soon.

Girls.. I know it's hard when you're ttc and so desperate for that rainbow but it took me 6 cycles, try not to let it worry you that you're onto cycle 2+. DrS wasn't in the slightest bit worried when I went in after 6 months, but we did discuss SO. Luckily that cycle was the winner!

Hopefully all those sperm supplements will have your boys swimming like Michael Phelps!!

Olympic medal (baby) here we come!!
My DH had lower end of normal motility and we've been ok.
I definitely recommend co q10, the ubiquinol version! I also read it starts with the egg Soph, it's fascinating!

JustLa · 03/09/2017 00:26

Drttc, that's so great!!!! And 2 days bigger, you're feeding that bean well ❤️ The shitty feelings should hopefully start to ease up within the next couple of weeks I think, you're doing so well.

Soph and take4, I was doing 4-5 hiit sessions a week last year. Was so strong, until my 3rd preg and mc. Then I started trying again and when I fell pg I didn't even dare use my tummy muscles to sit up!!! Gawd knows if I'll be able to push a baby out. But it's all worth it as I'm doing well it seems :)) I go for lots of walks now so that's something you can do if you feel delicate.

Welcome Soph btw 😊 (welcome back? Feel like you've said hi before in here but I've lost the plot a bit lol) Yes Harriet did super ovulation with Mr S and it worked a dream as she's now a pg pred princess!
I've had loads of ~mystic signs~ from the universe too! Bad ones when things went bad, and what seem to be good ones now. Maybe you can tilt your head and adjust how you intemperate them? Perhaps it was telling you it's going to happen soon and everything is starting to align?

Welcome in Choochoo, sorry to hear what you've been through 💕 We understand each other's experiences in here and thankfully manage to maintain a sense of humour.
You can see some of our history on the first page of this thread if you're interested. Glad you found Mr S and us, these great women have stacks of knowledge and experience to share 😊

Luna, I too went too hard in my 20's... hope that's not to blame! 💥

Take4- Love GOT, enjoy!

Xxx

LunaB · 03/09/2017 07:41

Thanks Seeking, you are inspiration for being patient...

I feel the same way Soph, as hard as I try to be understanding with my friends, most of them annoy me with their well meaning but stupid comments/advice... have stopped talking about it now...

Choo, welcome love - you sounds very sad but I really think this is the place to cheer you up and make you feel connected and hopeful once again... plus we do manage a few giggles 😊

harrietm87 · 03/09/2017 07:47

Hi everyone- wow - lots of posts to catch up on!

drttc yay I'm so happy for you! Great to gain an extra couple of days too! Sorry you're not feeling great but it will be worth it. I've just got my booking in date - 11th sept - and then they will arrange my 12 week scan at that I think. Probably going to get Mr S's as well after just's great experience.

soph yes I did superovulation and it worked like a charm first go! I was a bit unusual though - I did it on only cycle 2 because I have long cycles and my DH was away for work a lot this summer, including recently to South America in a high risk Zika place, so Mr S suggested that we use superovulation to control when I ovulated to make sure it happened while he was in the country, and it worked! I ovulated 6-7 days early, on CD13 instead of CD20/21. I was on the lowest dose of letrozole and only one egg matured. Mr S did say if it didn't work he'd up my dose next time as he liked to see 2 eggs, but I don't think it really does increase the chance of twins - I guess often one doesn't fertilise. Apparently letrozole is much better than clomid - less nasty side effects and less chance of twins. I love that if I have this baby I will have seen it as an egg in my left ovary! (Well a follicle but wevs)

drttc I'm feeling fine. The odd bit of nausea but think the pred must be masking it as generally ok. I'm just really really tired and really hungry and fat! I've started to get lots of tiny spots on my chest too - did you have this just? Never had them before in my life! Luckily though my face isn't too bad and it doesn't seem to be hairy (yet?....)

I managed ok at the wedding yesterday. Actually had a couple of sips of prosecco in the toasts and held one for the rest of the day. No one said anything but who knows if they noticed.

Welcome choo - you've come to the right place.

Hope everyone else is ok. Thinking of you amy.

Choo, just a thought, are on you taking any aspirin and vit D? These are two of the standard extras Dr S always prescribes all new patients, even before any tests have been done...

I had found this out about 2 months before i saw him for my 1st appointment (whilst trawling old mumsnet posts!), so I talked with my GP to check he ageeed talking the aspirin wasn't a problem (it wasn't at all) and I just put myself on 75mg aspirin and 50mg of vit D plus the regular pregnancy vits... it meant when I did finally get my appointment to see Dr S I was already taking the stuff he wanted me to take...

JustLa · 03/09/2017 08:21

Harriet, glad you managed to get through the wedding. Any ideas on your next scan yet?
Yes unfortunately I now have acne on my chest, so bad that it makes people gasp when I pull my top down. I was trying unpasteurised apple cider vinegar but I smelled like a pickled onion! So I've just bought some mama mio face wash, will let you know how that goes. They have started creeping up on to my face now too which is annoying. Pretty sure Seeking said she had it and it went went she stopped pred?
Trying to ignore mine but it is pretty severe.
How many weeks are you now Harriet?

Xx

Seekingmiracles · 03/09/2017 08:23

Welcome on board choo, it is so isolating going through mcs, people mean well but have no idea what to say really. I'm very open about things and have tried really hard to explain things Timmy friends but they still make stupid comments.
My fave at the mo is, 'your body will know what to do next time'! FUCK OFF!!
Anyway, we all know what you're going through and are here to hold your hand and pep you up when you need it.

My nuchal scan is on Friday! Our wedding anniversary. I'll be glad when I can tell people properly as I'm sure they just think I'm getting fat again! I was practically down to my holy grail of weight.. my wedding weight!

Going to do a reveal with a big feather filled balloon for Tallulah to hold saying 'I'm going to be a big sister'.
I'm also slightly worried about what people will think about the relatively small age gap. Which I know is ridiculous....

Drttc · 03/09/2017 09:05

Thank you ladies! So great to get the support on here. Not sure what I'd do during this time if it weren't for this community!

Seeking haha the reveal sounds so cute! And omg you're nuchal scan is soooo close! I feel like I wrote of few of your sentences myself. I was almost down to my wedding weight- then when I got that HORRIBLE stomach bug I actually went below my wedding weight lol. So far I've been scared to weight myself as it's been Carb Fest 2017 over here. But I've almost maintained my same level of running/walking so don't know... Dreading the midwife weigh in on Monday! Makes me feel like a naughty child. Also- the age gap thing! How many months apart would your little ones be? If all goes well ours would be 20 months apart. I reckon I've told a speech in my head about a 100 times that goes a bit like this 'Well you may think you know what you're talking about, but this is our 6th pregnancy and hopefully our 2nd child- So please keep your opinions about things you know nothing about to yourselves!' It's silly to worry about opinions when we've been through so much to get here. But alas, we are social creatures!

Seekingmiracles · 03/09/2017 12:47

I've put in at least half a stone!! Maybe more! Shocking!!! Really hoping I become less of a glutinous pig once I'm off the pred! Well done at maintaining your running/walking!!
There'll be 17 month between them.. my best friend has 13 months between hers so she's at least set the bar!
I'm more worried that because they know my history they'll think I should cherish Tallulah and enjoy her for longer before thinking about number 2. But I've always said I'd like two close together so hey ho... no one else's business really!
Great response though! That'll def shut people up!

JustLa · 03/09/2017 18:21

People do make crappy comments Seeking. 'Your chance will come' pissed me off. Worst was probably from someone I won't mention in case DH ever decides to read this post, after MC number 2 she told me I 'had to just get on with it'. I was thinking, yeah cheers for that little gem.
Is it an NHS nuchal or Clinic one? And will you find out the sex of this one before birth? 💗💙
That's a lovely age gap! If I can, I'll go for about the same. Sis in law had a 10 month gap, that was too close for me but up to her. Try not to worry about what anyone else has to say (I know it's easier said than done) this is your battle/journey and your beautiful family and if they know your history and still decide they don't like it, they don't deserve your time anyway 🙌🏼

I've put on about 10lbs or more... too scared to look now :/ Oh well, back on the rabbit food and sweaty workouts after baby arrives ... plus a few months haha

Xx

LunaB · 03/09/2017 18:26

I would think your history meant the exact opposite Seeking - that you wanted to make sure she had a little brother or sister so got a move on; in case it was a tough journey - which it has been regardless of the small gap. Screw any haters and enjoy your cubs 🐶🐶

Tee4me · 03/09/2017 18:41

The judgers are never happy! I agree with Luna, would make total sense to get cracking early having had a difficult journey.
I have the opposite problem, what with there being a big (unintentional) age gap. Worst comment I got was "don't you think (DS) would like a sibling??!" Fuck sake, kick me when I'm down. I know people don't mean it, but I guess for some if they haven't been through fertility struggles, it just doesn't occur to them that others might be.

PoppyJ1 · 03/09/2017 18:54

Hi all, mammoth catch up again! 😂

Drttc, congrats on the scan! What a relief!

Luna, sorry about the BFN. See you on the September bus 👍

Just, lovely to see you talking about baby's arrival.

Welcome newbies!

Seekingmiracles · 03/09/2017 19:23

That was our exact reason for trying quite quickly... I knew it might take a while.. which it didn't but sods law and all that! I'm looking forward to having them grow up together.
Tee the age gap between DS and future baby will be perfect too, he'll be able to help you and feel involved. My sister has 9years between her two and the eldest was brilliant. Now her little sister irritates the hell out of her at times but all siblings do at some point! Every age gap has its pros and cons, we deal with what ever situation we dealt with and people really do need to save their opinion!

I'm going to go hell for leather on the diet and exercise after this one! Just in the process of looking at holidays for 6 months post baby so that'll be my motivation!

Seekingmiracles · 03/09/2017 21:53

Oh and yes just, hoping DrS will be able to tell at the 16 week scan 🤞🏻💙💕No patience here at all!!

Tee4me · 03/09/2017 22:02

Any DH's need a little extra incentive this month? 😆 x
