RahRah1 · 01/05/2007 10:09

Morning all...

Well I'm in Wales at the moment at MIL's... Husband took me for a nice long walk yesterday through a forest, then through a village, then through another forest and then up some cliffs, that finally lead to a beautiful beach (then we had to do the whole thing back again to our car) However

  1. I'm no use to walking
  2. Because of the breeze he took fleece gloves, a woolly hat, a hoodies for both of us and a camera. WHAT ABOUT THE BLOODY SUNTAN LOTION!!!
  3. I hate all things that move
  4. I like public toilets not a bush!

Anyway on the way back I started feeling a bit ill, like I was going to be sick and could not stop going to the toilet (yes in a bush) Then I had to jump across a stream and fell in half of it and got stuck in mud. I was stinking by the time I got back to the car and feeling terrible. By the time I got home I had a temp of 38.2 ....woohooo that would be some progesterone if I had ovulated! and my back was bright red... I had bloody sun stroke! I shivered into bed at 5pm and got out this morning! Temp is back to 36.1 and just a bit achy... think my husband feels a bit guilty about taking gloves and a hat instead of suntan lotion! What planet is he on!
Also a snake crossed my path whilst I was half way up a cliff and I have never screamed so much... it was awful. So just in case you are reading my post DH, I prefer a trip to Selfridge's anyday!

RahRah1 · 01/05/2007 10:12

Sorry to see so many of you guys back on a new cycle.... we really are having a bad spot on our thread...Its only a matter of time... Remember May/June are good months!

Ready · 01/05/2007 10:49

Right-e-ho. CD2 here ? didn?t get a chance to come back online yesterday to change the temp list. Sorry. But CD1 arrived yesterday as predicted. So another 28 day cycle!! It?s amazing ? I feel as though the black cloud has already lifted. I am such a glutton for punishment, I really am! I have a good feeling about this month ? not least because it would be a February baby, just like me ? and that would totally cool!

The Starlings in our roof have been born ? and what a racket!!! It is clear when Mum and Dad return with worms or whatever because there is a cacophony of tweets and squeaks! It makes me smile!

Rah - Now that is what I call a romantic walk!! I am the same as you when it comes to weeing outside ? not a fan! I don?t even like public toilets (I am stuck up, I will admit it!) LOL at fleece and scarf ? what was he thinking - bless you getting sunstroke ? that is not nice (hug). Hope you are feeling better now!? Plenty of water and rest for you! Oh, and get some natural yoghurt on your sunburn ? trust me, it works a treat!
Enjoy the rest of your holiday! But no more hiking
Fingers crossed that we ALL conceive in May/June ? now that would awesome!

Seaside - CD1 came and went with no ugliness. No tears. A couple of mopy tantrums at certain pregnancy related mentions on the TV. LOST SPOILER ALERT Turns out I can?t even watch LOST anymore without being forcefed ultrasounds and baby joy! [argh] *
So how are you feeling chick? Not wanting to tempt fate, but hope DH performed his conjugal duties upon his return ? perfect timing too no??
I think that taking the temp earlier produces a lower temp ? the first month I temped I did it at 8am and it was higher than when I changed to 7am. Definitely something to the time thing.

Mum03 - Fingers crossed you don?t have to join the list again! ? so tell us more about this house of yours ? is it nearly finished??

Beansprout - Still so sorry that things ended the way they did. Hope that you are taking the time for yourself, and not just burying your emotions. We are all here for you if you need to explode. ((hugs))

NappyValley - I am clinging to the average time-frame of a year like a desperado! Thanks for the reminder that it took you 11 months. I think the thing is, if someone came and told us, ?it will take you 13 months? ? then we would be fine with that amount of time ? it?s the not knowing that is the hardest part! The what-ifs!
PMSL at the ?decorators? analogy! Pimms will be consumed without doubt ? along with caffeine and goats cheese
When I get the chance I will read the blog you posted? I love a good blog

MrsMc - Sorry that there is still no news with your house. But now the summer is here, everyone decides to move house (?!) so fingers crossed someone will snap it up!!
Sorry that the software moved you. Wonder why that was? But remember it is only a guide, not 100% correct ? so I would be more inclined to trust your own intuition. Fingers crossed for you.

Minxi - How?s it all going?? Fingers crossed the clomid works its magic this month!

Rattling - Glad the pastries helped you out yesterday. ((hug)) ? I am sorry that the news was not better. Has there been 3 months in between any dietary changes and the latest tests? Because it takes that long for the new breed (!) to reach the end, so to speak, doesn?t it??
I know what you mean about working the odds ? should be more in my favour with every passing month huh!!

Iwillbe - Thanks for the A* - I?d take a C if it produced a baby though ? you are right though, my charts are ridiculously neat! And last cycle we certainly put in the effort. [miffed emoticon]
I am so pleased that you went to your appointment, and that your GP was lovely. I think they advise to stop the OPKs and charts because too many people rely on them and for some they are not accurate enough. But if you get on fine with them, and don?t rely on them too much, then you should be fine to carry on. I know you didn?t want to hear that ?you are still young? ? but believe me chick, I wish that I was as young as you and trying. Take it as a silver lining ? I know that it doesn?t lessen the desire ? but time is very much on your side.

Have you found a house you would like then? Or are you still looking?

Jess - Hope you are well?

Duchesse - Very quiet your end, hope all is well.

The Graduates - Hope all is well with you lot!!

Cityangel - Thinking of you!

Oh? me being nosy. Quick straw poll. How old is everyone? I know I could look on the profiles, but not everyone has them ? and I am too lazy! I?m 28.

mum03 · 01/05/2007 11:03

READY - we did the age thing before arggg, OK OK - I am 39 and not too pleased that if I get another blessing of a baby I will be in my 40's having it.... oh well, pmt strikes again for me. (Rah said she missed my rants LOL) Thank you so much for distracting me from PMT by asking about my house.... so here goes -

We started building it in September last year and being a large bungalow style (velux windows in the rooms in the roof area). Five bedrooms - can I have enough children to fill it please !!! Sorry I digress again. We had the walls plastered about a month ago and last week the floors were poured. It finally feels like a real house, some of the floors are still drying out, but hopefully by the end of this week I will be going in and starting to cover sockets /windows etc so that I can go mad with the paint sprayer and get covered in paint (room rather than me hopefully!) Going to spray first coat of white paint thoughout as undercoat and then decide if I have enough money to decorate all the rooms different colours or if I have to go for cheap bog-magnolia thoughout. Any offers to come and help me paint gratefully recieved.
I do have a blogsite about the house if you want it Ready!

Ok that has really helped me calm down for a few minutes, thank you for "listening"!

Ready · 01/05/2007 11:23

Mum03 - I know we did the age thing, but my memory is terrible and there are newbies too!
YAY! I love hearing about newbuild projects! My dream is to design my own home! So I am very - OOOOOH yes please... Blog me up
Can I just say - and this is incredibly rude of me I know - but if you are thinking of having just one colour throughout - you should go with white. It is sooooooooo much cooler than magnolia. Not that there is anything wrong with magnolia - but just that white is much more chic! I know you didn't ask for my opinion - but when has that ever stopped me

RahRah1 · 01/05/2007 11:24

Oh MUM03 I love your PMT rants.... PMSL... Sorry! but your so funny!

Ready when I saw you asked the question I ducked, as the last time I asked everyone got quite Pee'd off!

I'm 31 but 32 on June 7th.

mum03 · 01/05/2007 12:04

Ready - I am not going to put the blog site here for public viewing, but if any of you email me at: thingingoftrying @ yahoo.co. uk then I will happily send you blog info. (I am such a show-off when it comes to my home!!) Oh and I agree with you on the magnolia thing, but I think that with the big rooms we have (boasting again!!!) white will look too stark, and kiddies fingerprints will show up too easily, but if you want to come over and help me paint, then I will let you choose!!!! I will know more once I have the white undercoat thoughout, it will help me decide. Also need an opinion on carpet... I have major allergy issues and should not have any carpets in the house, but I love carpets and we have a small sitting room/lounge/snug area that I think would be great with a lovely lusious carpet, but should I be sensible and keep them out of the house totally? Also I think that stairs without carpets are soo noisey, so I want a stair carpet too.... but should I??? opinions gratefully received.

seaside72 · 01/05/2007 13:40

Ohh - decorating talk - now that's my idea of fun! Right mum03 here is my two-peneth worth of annoying recommendations:

Paint Colour - I have to admit I am a white fan like Ready- We are an all white house and we do have quite a large open plan living area- IMO it is easier than other colours for stains and marks as it can be retouched easily and we went for dulux contract (wipeable) matt emulsion and it is fab. If you do want to stick with off-white - the one I recommend is Dulux Heriatge Candle Cream - it is fantastic and a great compromise, modern and clean but classic too and not yellowy or pinky which many magnolias can be. I am also a fan of just painting one feature wall - Fireplace/chimney breast or alcoves in a nice contrasting colour -(mmmm Farrow and Ball is my addiiction! )

Carpeting - Have you had a look at natural flooring? - It is good for allergies - does not harbour dust mites and is mostly really durable (although do not choose Jute as that is not durable) I have Seagrass and it is fantastic - nice to walk on looks great - a dream to deal with re stains, dirty feet etc -get it treated and nearly all stains just need a bit of warm soapy water a scrubbing brush and blotting and then 24 hours later they are gone - honsetly we have spilt red wine, tomato sauce, and dog puke (TMI!) Seagrass is not good on the stairs but their are sisals taht are briliant. I know everyone says it is a bit rough under foot but I love it and everyone who stays with us is won around to it and then we just have one nice shaggy rug in the living area for a bit of luxury which is great and it can be easily changed to alter the whole look of the room IYSWIM. The best company is Crucial Trading but there are oads of the same type of things on the market now.

Ok I'll shut up now - can you tell I am in the middle of a decorating job right now

seaside72 · 01/05/2007 13:53

Oops nearly forgot about my temp!!
Well I am totally confused with what to post -So much for my "relaxed" temping approach! So far I have been only taking the first reading everyday, no OCD multiple temps I woke a little later at 6.50am today and took temp and it was low - 36.51 - I thought it would be higher as it seemed OV occurred Sunday (temp was up from 36.44 - 36.59 yesterday) but I had been quite uncovered by the duvet and had been lying on my side so put therm under side of tongue not lying on IYKWIM. Anyway - I couldnt resist the urge to temp again and turned over and put therm under other side of tongue and temp was 36.68!!! WTF
I had warmed the therm for about a minute before the first reading.

So any opinions on what I should put gratefully received - I split the diff and put 36.59 on my chart but now it has said was on cd12?? I def think it was more like CD13 as got pos opk at midnight on CD11 and still pos at 5pm on CD12 and CD12 was first Peak on my monitor too???

Chart spotters - if you have a chance take a peek at my chart. I would value your opinions

seaside72 · 01/05/2007 14:10

Ready Oh I am glad I stopped watching Lost when it went to Sky One- being able to conceive on a desert island after a plane crash and with no food or shelter - FFS!! I just laughed last week at Property Ladder was on - actually I thought Sarah Beeny would be pg - she often is when filming!! Thanks for asking - DH has put in super human effort ( 4 nights in a row that's a seaside household record I think! ) Anyway am hoping we can sustain for a few more nights in the coming week! TBH though I really feel like it is all a bit in vain IYKWIM?? - it just all feels like it is out of our hands and if it is not meant to be it won't happen no matter how much we BD?? Which is a bit depressing really - Ho-Hum.

Rah Sorry to hear about your sunstroke it is horrid. (But PMSL at your walk description and gloves and fleece !) Hope you feel better today and that your DH takes the shopping option next time - any outlet villages nearby

MrsMc I am sharing your software confusion?? annoying isn't it - I tried the manual override but then it felt like I was just making it all up?? I wish I knew why it was putting my OV day on CD 12 - it doesnt explain itself well enough??

Mum03 can I email you for the blog too - would love to have a look?

Right - must go and do some work - back later to catch up with everyone else.

BTW - I am 34 - 35 in December

MrsMcJnr · 01/05/2007 16:50

Hope you are wrong Mum03

God Ready I really am dopey, sorry. I feel awful about that. Glad you are feeling good today

LOST ALERT ? well yes Ready BUT none of the women who got pg on the island survived so we have GOT to be in a better position! Shame we can?t send our men to the island for that sperm boost hey!? I think Kate is going to be pg next, after all, she has been bonking Sawyer and his men were probably 1st class and plentiful before they even got to the island (he has a kid he doesn?t know about remember?)

Poor you RahRah what a disaster! I thought you were about to say you saw unusual Welsh trouser snake The real snake however would have been the end for me too ? hate them!

Hey Seaside I?ll look at your chart after this but think you should go with the first reading but make notes on the rest.

I?m 34 in December by the way.

Evening all.
Oh Rah waht a nightmare. I bet he was thinking it would be all romantic etc. Hope he is looking after you properly. Well done on going outdoors. First time is the worst.

Seaside - DH is certainly doing well there. That would be a record in our house too. Keep up the good work Mr Seaside - send the troops in - in fact your must me the Normandy Beach invasion

Ready thanks for asking ages, as I was curious - ok make that nosey. I am another '73 baby and will be 34 in October. Glad to see the +ve tiara is firmly in place. Wouldn't it be great if more than 1 of us hit the jackpot this cycle.

Mum03 - oooh your Grand Design sounds fab. Love the sound of Seasides flooring. But I an a real wood floor fan myself, although I agree about the carpet on the the stairs. I think white works well on a modern open plan style, but for me I prefer a slightly warmer colour. DH picks all the colours in our house so I should probably not offer any advice, I am the painter, not the designer.

Got to split and get myself some food, as DH not home til late most mon-weds. Shock horror thought of me cooking (ok technically reheating!)

Ready · 01/05/2007 21:20

Mum03 - at your house!! And the plot!! Underfloor heating NEEDS to have wooden floors ? that should settle it
Sorry to hear that you are CD1 today! Damn and blast.

Rah - Oh the sensitive so and so?s ? I can?t help being curious about people?s age it?s the nosy streak in me!
Had much chance to get in that pool ??

Minxi -Your temps are high aren?t they ? goodness knows how high they will get post-ovulation How are you feeling?

Seaside - I knew we would both agree on white! Shockingly enough though, there is not a white wall in my house ? DH put his foot down this time. I got a white lounge in our last house and he wanted something else this time ? we compromised on dove grey!
I am so at your seagrass ? I wanted it in the bedrooms, but DH said it was too rough under foot. Wood and tiles downstairs though ? I wouldn?t have anything else on the ground floor myself.
I think I covered your chart stuff on the United thread??
Sorry if I have spoiled Lost for you now? but it seems that sperm counts are IMMENSE on the island

MrsMc - I am confused, what did you do?? Or what did I do to make you ?
SPOILER PMSL at the fact that all the women on the island die ? good point!! I hadn?t thought that far ahead I agree with you about Kate ? didn?t Juliette say something about ?Austin? into the tape recorder?? NappyValley* - Oooh yeah, love the idea of a +ve tiara ? can I get Swarovski crystals on it please

Does anyone know where Weepootleflump is?? It?s been AGES since she moved, and I am starting to worry about her!! [concerned face]

Everyone else!! Hope all is well!

minxi · 01/05/2007 22:01

Ready all good thanks...feeling positive this month (and very hot), will be scarily warm though if temp doesn't start dropping - can't imagine the coverline! Dh away until tomorrow..so reminded him it is cd10 tom and I am out for the evening to the theatre with some girlfriends....and would be back to get it on as it were!! and that I am doing everything to the letter this month its also a full moon tonight is that good...? well if it is no bloody good for me as dh not around hope you are okay...p.s. was 35 in January and for the record am an aquarian!

Mum03 hope you are okay to see you back at cd1 again - what is going on when are we going to get any positives on this site...

think we jinxed it should have stayed at temp 3 or whatever it was when there was all those bfp's

seaside all good here, clomid is fine until a few days before af due and a day or so after...but feel great - bit tired as have been manic busy last few days...plus did cardio tennis this morning and feel shattered! pmsl at you realising on the way to the loo you hadn't temped and had to run back under the duvet...did you breathe - how long did you wait think I waited a moment and thought oh ffs try to remember one thing took it but thought its probably best discarded as sooo warm but then have been like that all week ?!

Rah - hope you are okay and enjoying the break with dh - you must be using your mil's pool its roasting at the moment

MrsMc - Hope all is well in the McM household....hate conflict especially around ov time but fingers crossed we get some good news this month.....I think we jinxed ourselves when we set up a new temp buds should have kept the one that had several bfp's on going

Nappy all fine here just busy and back to the grindstone with ov day due soon...actually v excited but then think I seem to be like that every month until a few days before! Hope you ok

Beansprout where are you - hope you are surviving this hiccup you will be back with a bfp before you know it fingers crossed to you and your dh x

Iwillbe glad you went to the dr and are being checked it will be worth it !
