beansprout I'm so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you.

I had a bad day yesterday. Yet another new pregnancy was announced at work. I ended up crying in the toilets, then again in the car and again at home. I feel better today, but sometimes it seems like this pain will never end.

I think that my heart has broken. I am not sure how much more disappointment it can take.
I am so very sorry for the melodrama from me at the moment. It's just that I am losing my strength... my sparkle.
I am always the optimistic one, always the one who finds the silver lining in the darkest cloud. But it's getting harder and harder to find anything remotely positive to come from yet another month with nothing to show for it.
I'm sitting here in tears (yeah, I normally wait til cd2 for tears!) at the prospect that I may never be a mother. My heart really is breaking today.

Sorry to bring down the thread... Thinking of you all.

RahRah1 · 29/04/2007 10:11

Hi Ready...

I just logged on for the first time since hitting Wales... (Left 6am on Sat morning)... all I can say is I know your heartache so very much and it so painful..I have been having the same problems this month as the disappointment each month seems to be harder to take as the months go on.
They say most couples should conceive within the first 12-18 months. So your still a little way off. We waited 18 months for Bertie, so it does work in the end and normally in the month you least expect it.
I just don't know why its not working,,,, it does not make sense. People always say (including my husband) it will happen! So I like as many people to say it as possible to keep me going... So I am hoping that will help you... IT WILL HAPPEN!!!! PROMISE!! I know it is so difficult not to be one of those people that it just happen for, but when it does happen they will be all that bit more special! Remember that there is so much they can do out there and I rarely hear of people that remain childless, unless they have really bad gynie problems. Which you don't as you are ovulating and having regular cycles! I promise it is just a matter of time!

XXXXXX Sending you lots of love and hugs

Sorry to hear you're down ready, it seems so unfair doesn't it. It is good news that you OV regularly though and have a normal LP. That's what I tell myself. I can't remember the statistics, but isn't it something like even if you BD at exactly the right time you only have a 20-25% chance of pregnancy. For an impatient person like me, that's a really depressing statistic. I guess we just have to remember that if on average you will only get pregnant one month in every five, then waiting eight cycles is just a bit of bad luck! Do you think you timed the BDing right when you first started trying. I know I missed the first 3 cycles because I thought that CD14 was the best day when in fact I seem to OV anytime between CD16 and CD20. So each month I gave up to soon. So although I'm down as 8 cycles, I can really only count 5 - one of which was at least initially successful. I just keep thinking that one day I will have my family and I will look back at this time and think what an impatient, worrier I was.

I do have a question for all the MNetters though:

How do people get pregnant by accident?

In the last month I have had 2 people announce accidental pregnancies to me.

That must involve - contraceptive failure, BD at the right time and then there's only a 1/5 chance.

Surely the odds against it must be staggering!!!

Anyway, hi to everyone else. Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

honeyapple · 29/04/2007 19:05

Hiya,

Sorry to hear you are feeling down Ready. Maybe you might want to approach your GP about it all? (Sorry if you have already).

Jess- I think the thing with accidental PG is the desire to get PG is not there, neither is the stress and worry that is associated with TTC. I am a living example of this phenomenon. My DD was very much an accidental pregnancy, including taking MAP, (with DS it was more a case of not using contraception for a month and knowing that it was possible I would get PG) however when TTC really for the first time with this pregnancy, it surprised all my family and friends that it took 6 mths. I know that it was the pressure i was putting on myself to get PG, and the strain it was having on my body emotionally and physically. I accept that 6 mths is not that long to TTC, but for me, having expected to get PG very quickly, it was a shock. When you are in the thick of TTC it is difficult if not impossible to see out of it... I believe the only reason I got PG when I did was because I had given in to fate and was going to take a break the next month. Sorry, this isnt very helpful I know, and potentially also VERY irritating.
Lots of love to you all. I hope May brings many many BFPs. xxxxx

Ready · 29/04/2007 19:37

Soooo? turns out I found the silver lining to my temp drop quite quickly ? A HUGE Jug of Pimms!! I am pretty tipsy still ? DH and I had an impromptu BBQ in our finished masterpiece of a garden and it was a wonderful afternoon. I think the fact that the most I have drunk in over a year is a couple of glasses of rosé in the last month

Beansprout - Sending much love. Thinking of you. ((hug))

Seaside - thanks for the hug. I really need it today. Bless you for getting upset at overhearing strangers conversations ? hey, you are not alone!!
Haha ? I haven?t forgotten to take my temp yet?. I woke up the other morning and took my temp then realise it was 3.50am and still had lots of hours to sleep!
Not long til your appointment Fingers and toes crossed for you.

Rah - Hope you are having a great time in the principality!! Hope your MIL is spoiling you rotten with lots of cooked breakfasts
Fingers crossed that this week (11 days) away is just the ticket and you come back with a baby growing in your tum!

Jess - I keep telling myself that too ?it must be a good sign that my cycles are regular, and that my LP is 12/13days too? It must be a good sign ? mustn?t it???? Looking back over my charts, we could perhaps have had more sex around the crucial times, the timing seems right most of the time ? just not enough! ? and to be honest, I think we really ought to be continuing the effort throughout the entire cycle, but we just seem to run out of steam ? we had planned to do it every other day throughout the rest of this cycle after the crucial stage ? but we only managed it once more. Shocking really . I have been temping since cycle 2! Fingers crossed for you. I am with you on your question ? How the f** do ?accidents? happen!!??

Minxi - Sorry that the clomid is making you weepy ((hugs)) ? I had really high hopes too this month. FOOL that I am! Still, give me a week and I will be having stupidly high hopes for cycle 9 too ? I am going to speak to my GP ? it?s 12 months for me because I am still under 30 ? Fingers crossed for you chick!

NappyValley - I am still waiting for you and Seaside to get in your cars and come make me a brew and chocolate cake! You were right ? the sunshine most certainly did help! Yesterday I thought I was going to get sunstroke at one point watching the football. And today it was just bliss! Hope it?s been great down there ? the best part of the country IMO! Fingers crossed for you.

MrsMcJnr - How?s it going?? Just wondered how the house sale is going? Are the Home Information Packs coming into effect in Scotland soon? Or is it just in England? I am pretty sure if your house is on the market before June then you are exempt ? which is why we are trying to get the house ready for the middle of March ? just in case we have to move. Hope all is well ? fingers crossed.

Rattling - Hope all is well, fingers crossed for you! Don?t let the 2ww drag you down! What?s the deal with horseriding when pregnant??

Cityangel - Cycle bud ? your CD1 came too early ? can we still be cycle buddies even though we are not on the same day ? just the same month ttc?? Hope you are enjoying the cocktails

Mum03, Iwillbe and Duchesse and The Graduates - hope you are well, fingers crossed.
I am really sorry if I have missed anyone? but I did say I was tipsy!

PS. Sorry for any typos.

Ready · 29/04/2007 19:39

oops... that took a LONG time to type... Honeyapple - I am going to see my GP, thanks hon. But apart from getting tests sorted, she can't refer me til 12 months anyway... still too young!

mum03 · 29/04/2007 19:45

Glad you are tipsy Ready, just posted you on chartspotters thread, but looks like your garden cheered you up, (must gloat more about my new house soon!!! LOL)

Am off for an early night, but will post more tomorrow.
Big hug to the lovely lot of you.

NappyValley · 29/04/2007 21:16

PIMMS what a brillaint idea. Far more enjoyable than plain old tea.

To encourage you all, I'll remind you that we were trying for 11 months for my ds. I have not forgotten how frustrating and heart breaking it was then and all the anxieties involved. This time round I am trying not to be so obsessive and try not to think about it too much, but it is so incredibly hard.

Girls do not be down hearted the BFP could be a cycle away. I'll have words with the Pregnancy Panda and ask her to drop by.

And why do we all seem to be surrounded by those who seem to get pregnant just by sneezing!!!!!!

Ready hang in there bub it will happen. Don't panic - the average time is about a year.

Hey ladies hope you all had a good weekend. Although it?s Monday and I feel knackered as usual, it was quite a relaxing and long-seeming weekend makes a nice change! How are you all?

Hello Fettleandmini ? 18 weeks, wow! I really hope that it?s a really easy pregnancy and passes without incident.

Hi Minxi hope you feel much better on the clomid this cycle and that it gives you the desired effect it is high time we had lots of BFPs, I agree! I forgot to temp in the week too, how does that happen?!

Hey Ready oh honey, hang in there. Hope she stays away. I know how hard it is. I have to say though that when I did get my BFP all those months of trying didn?t seem that long. I?m trying to keep that in mind now. Huge hugs. Glad you had a lovely BBQ and that the garden is finished; now you can really enjoy it! No news on the house I think there is some talk of the Home Information Packs coming into effect but not as soon as in England.

Seaside how come up so early these days then? I just thought that maybe my temps are always lower than everyone else?s cos I temp at 6am never thought of that! Glad to hear you are feeling brighter All great with DH and me now last night, he wanted to play but I was too tired and he told me I must as it was ?a good time? for him, we ended ourselves laughing!

Jess1996 sorry that you found your colleague?s news hard. Of my pg friends, one lost her baby at 6 months and had to give birth to it she?s terribly psychologically affected and another has to have a section at 30 weeks because the baby needs a blood transfusion due to her being a -ive blood group and the antibodies attacking the baby I just want to hear about lots of uncomplicated, easy pregnancies.

Hey RahRah hope you are having a lovely relaxing time.

Hello NappyValley thank you hon. How are you?

Thinking of you Beansprout xx If you want to join us on the pregnancy after MC thread, please do, might help. xx

Hello Honeyapple I agree with you, it is a catch 22 when you want a BFP, chances are, it?ll be delayed! Hope you are well and that bumps getting lovely and big!

Hope you are having a lovely time City

I was a bit depressed this morning - we got DH's 2nd sperm test results back - same fairly poor results. I thought I had posted a particularly self-absorbed and gloomy tale and was coming back to apologise. Must not have pressed the correct button, which is all for the best as I feel better already (the healing power of pastries).

I have decided to stop taking my temp for a few weeks - won't make any difference for the rest of this cycle and next cycle I will be on holiday when I ovulate and am not taking a thermometer away with me.

Will still be keeping an eye on everyone else - need to get my chart fix somewhere!

Beansprout - so sad about your news. Glad to see you back on the horse so quickly.

Ready - you have such clear and reliable charts that it is hard to doubt AF is on her way. Should also mean that everything is working well for you - you just need to work those odds. I'm sure it will happen for you soon.

hi ladies

i am having so much trouble getting online just lately and when i do get on i loose the connection after about 10 minutes. which is why we are ditching bt and joining virgin today so no doubt we will have a few more technical hitches coming our way so just a warning if i dissapear for a few days!

rattling - sorry to hear the news wasnt good i hope you have a nice holiday and forget your troubles a bit and spend some quality time with dh relaxing.

ready - i am and it looks like af is approaching, you have literally the perrfect text book charts every month and get an A* for effort all the time and yet - no results u have just got to hang on in there as hard as it is. when is your gp appointment? glad you have your garden finished and enjoyed a nice bbq in it, this is one of the things i am desperate for b4 we have a baby - a nice house and garden for our little one. currently we are in a flat so enjoyed a lovely disposable bbq on our balcony yesterday.

mrsmcjnr - hello, when is it you are seeing the doctor? sorry you havnt had any results as yet on the house, maybe a change of agent is in order? or advertise privately? we had a letter from our solicitor today informing us of the hip stuff. it is from 1st june it goes into action. luckily dp never sells he only buys so wont make much of a difference to us.

beansprout - ((hugs)) you are being so remarkably brave and positive. i hope you are not waiting around for too long for your bfp. i hope you dont mind me asking was this your first m/c? have you any other children?

hello to rahrah, nappy, duchese, jess and anyone else i have missed.

i had my appointment with my doctor this morning about ttc, she was absolutely lovely she said that the infection wouldnt have harmed my fertility (which is what i really needed to hear) and chances are the reason why i havnt fallen as yet is because stress after the m/c followed by stress by not falling immediately its a viscious circle! she has booked me in for a day21 blood test just to double check my hormone levels. she said the best medical advice she could give me was to go and book myself a holiday. she did advise i stop temping and opks etc and just let nature take its course...but im not ready to let go of all control just yet! and i also got the phrase i was dreading but predicted would be said "you are stilll only young you have plenty of time"

all in all i am pleased and feel a lot better than what i did (at the moment) so thanks to u girls for telling me to make the appointment and also keeping it when i wanted to cancel.

xx

iwillbe - really glad trip to docs was such a positive one. And I am sure it is incredibly frustrating if you are ready for a family and it is not happening being told you are young is no consolation. I guess they mean the situation would be worse if you were older rather than devaluing your feelings of anxiety now. I amencourage though to maybe go see my doc. I keep worrying that they might have cut something essential during C-section.

Minxi- how are you feeling these days on the clomid?

Ready - as you say the decorators look like they are on the way, and if so, remember to have a good blow out on more pimms, caffinated tea, pate and brie. Our time will come but the stress of trying can be a huge factor. Big hugs and enjoy that garden, I have high hopes for all in May. Must be a bit of Ready positivity rubbing off.

Hugs all

Hi everyone - nice to see lots of us "around" on the thread this morning

Temp rise today - no surprises for me - regular as old clockwork - so think it is safe to say OV yesterday CD13
My temp is not as high as usual to show OV but temping at 6.30 so think that explains it - will be interested from a scientific pov to see what FF sets my coverline at this month - past months have been temping 7.30-8am and coverline usualy around 36.6 but imagine it will be more like 36.4 or 5 this month - verrrrry interesting - not!!
Not noticed much EWCM until last night but did use preseed for the first time (properly) on Friday and Saturday so that kind of clouded the issue - and I am rubbish at identifying my cm anyway
DH and I are doing really well but I don't want to speak too soon - so shhhhh - lets not discuss it until this time next week!

Iwillbe Glad your docs appointment was positive- well done for sticking wth it - I know its the last thing you want to hear about being young and having time as it doesn't help you now but I have to say speaking from the other side of the spectrum being told you dont have much time is sooo scary and horrid The tests will definitely help to give you some peace of mind that things are all working etc. Having had 2 sets of CD21 tests now I know it has helped me feel lke at least something is doing what it is suposed to IYKWIM

rattling So sorry that DH's test results were not what you had hoped - have they given you a plan of action/options? Stopping temping is a good idea - actually I think we should probably all take a few breaks every couple of months - it is nice to forget about it a little bit every now and again.

MrsMc Glad you had a nice weekend and that all is good with you and DH - laughter is the best medicine! Def looks lke our temps will be pretty similar now we are temping around the same time.

Minxi - ohh - your temp is pretty high for pre-ov! - do you think the clomid makes a difference to your temps?

Ready Hope CD 1 comes and goes super quick and with no ugliness

NappyValley - You are challenging Ready for the positivity princess tiara I would say go to the docs - putting your mind at rest is well worth it

Got to get back to work - back later girls!

MrsMcJnr · 30/04/2007 16:27

I?m sorry that it wasn?t better news Rattling I hope you get a surprise this cycle

Iwillbe - annoying about the technical hitches. So glad to hear you went to the Dr and that she was lovely to you. Shame she did not actually do some tests to make sure you didn?t have an infection though. I?m waiting for a speaclaist?s appoiuntment to come through, could be months We chose these agents for our house because they are really proactive compared to the others ? hopefully things will pick up now the better weather is here.

Hello Nappy ? don?t forget that we need to enjoy peanut butter whilst we can!

Hey Seaside glad to hear you?ve OVd.

NappyValley · 30/04/2007 20:43

Good point about peanut butter. I religiously eat my Crunchy Nut cornflakes for first 12 weeks of pg being so pleased that I was actually eating breakfast - then it dawned on me about not eating peanuts!! Oh well.

How was your day ready?
