Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

Flame, I plan on doing it when DH is in the house with me, so will tell him. This might change if the months go on though.
I've no symptoms to tell at the moment, but I'm normally fairly open with him so I'd say I will be whining away at him when I do.

WaitingTillJuly17 · 17/07/2017 20:53

At least there's no AF yet Grumpy so that last FRER might still bring you some good news!

I haven't told DH when I'm testing, firstly because it feels like so much pressure and secondly because then he'd know how crazy I am with the tests I've done so far! He does look at me strangely though if I say I'm feeling a bit ill or my boobs hurt so I think he's quite aware that it's nearly crunch time.

Yeah I don't usually tell DH, but he knows when it's about the right time. (And I don't want him to know how many I waste!)

Hellsbells35 · 17/07/2017 22:29

Do you mind if I join? Currently in 2WW about 11 dpo. Had chemical pregnancy last month. Got positive test and then period came 2 days later. It was heartbreaking as in those 2 days I had started to think it might happen. I don't want to put my husband through that again so would rather discuss on here. Feeling really tired today and pressure in uterus but could be nothing. No sickness yet like last time. But that started 12 DPO

HolyShmoly · 17/07/2017 23:14

Hi Hellsbells, welcome to the group. Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy, hopefully this month will go better for you.

CuppaTea86 · 17/07/2017 23:26

I caved and did an internet cheapy pink dye test this morning- BFN as expected, 8/9dpo.
Plan to wait 48hours and just sit on my hands tomorrow (unlikely I'll have the willpower!)
I hope we have a few bfps between us all! Positive thinking!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 18/07/2017 07:33

Hi there Hellsbells 👋 Sorry about your chemical, feel free to vent all you like here!

Yes Cuppa, that is early (but I did the exact same 🙄) I also said I would wait 48 hours since that first one but when you've done it once it's so easy to keep testing 😂.

I'm not sure but I might have had the FAINTEST of squinters on a FRER this morning (can't even see it on a photo). Does anyone know if evap lines come up within the allowed time or is it just if they're left too long? Might have to test again later this afternoon!

So much for me keeping calm. I've just checked my heart rate and it's showing an increase in the last couple days which probably means absolutely nothing but now it's got me obsessing again! It's way too early to read anything into it. This whole thing is a rollercoaster and I don't bloody like rollercoasters!

Hellsbells35 · 18/07/2017 14:21

I'm trying hard not to read into tiredness, sickness etc...and think I should hold off testing until missed period. Does anyone have any strategies for coping with disappointment if/when period arrives?

MummysMaison · 18/07/2017 15:57

I've resigned myself to the fact I'm not pregnant then if I am I can only be happy! Whether or not I actually remember this when I donget AF is another thing! I'm on CD24 and considering testing even though I know I shouldn't. Yesterday I had some twinges on my left side low down.....spent an hour googling implantation cramps Blush. What day does implantation normally happen? I'm a regular 28 days, ov usually around day 14.

Bumpkin21 · 18/07/2017 17:44

@HellsBells35 I've taken up knitting as a distraction! 😂 I'm only 28! And my consolation prize for getting AF is a glass of wine, and a morning coffee.
This month however, since I'm not preggers I can attend my smear. Yay. FML. #worstconsolationprizeever

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/07/2017 18:47

Still no AF. Anyone see a line on this?

Bumpkin21 · 18/07/2017 19:43

@Grumpy perhaps a hint of a squinter - do you have any pink dye tests?

Bumpkin21 · 18/07/2017 19:45

Weird development here. I thought I was out due to 2 days of spotting and cramps, but then just got these. What do you think? They are cheap Amazon ones, so I don't know if they often have evap lines?

CuppaTea86 · 18/07/2017 20:00

Don't think I can see anything on my phone screen grumpy- I think the clear blue ones have a higher hcg threshold to turn positive so maybe give another day or try a pink dye like frer?
I think that looks positive bumpkin, what dpo are you? Did the spotting stop?

MummysMaison · 18/07/2017 20:14

Sorry Grumpy I don't see anything :(

Bumpkin to me that looks positive! The spotting may have been from implantation?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/07/2017 21:31

FRER negative. That's a cb 6 days early so should pick up

WaitingTillJuly17 · 18/07/2017 21:55

Did you see anything in person Grumpy? I could see a line on a FRER this morning but it was so faint and you definitely couldn't see it on a photo. It's a 6 days before missed period and I'm due on Saturday so technically could have picked something up yesterday but it was a BFN. I also compared todays to Mondays and there was a clear difference. Hoping that it will look a bit better tomorrow but I'm still convinced it was a mistake!

Looking good Bumpkin! Time for a FRER?

Mummys implantation can occur at any time between 6 and 12 dpo. You then need to factor in a couple of days for HCG to build up enough to show on a test, so still early days at CD24.

WaitingTillJuly17 · 18/07/2017 21:57

Sorry Grumpy just remembered you're already late, but if you implanted late you could still be in with a chance (especially if you can see a line on your test already). 🤞

OP posts:
Bumpkin21 · 18/07/2017 22:37

I'm 13 dpo and only seeing fairly faint lines. I tested at 11 dpo with a FRER and not even a squinter. So I think when they say you can test 6 days early they're stretching the truth. You're not out until AF arrives!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/07/2017 22:44

I'm 13dpo as well so unless very late implantation I'm out. Congrats @Bumpkin21 - if I got tests like that I'd be celebrating!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 19/07/2017 04:58

AF is here 😢

WaitingTillJuly17 · 19/07/2017 06:19

Noooooooooooo! So sorry Grumpy!

Can anyone else see this?
