Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

Oh I missed your post there Floopy, sorry! Sorry to hear about the UTI, maybe it's all that BD'ing that's caused it?! I had one a couple of weeks back and they gave me one that's safe in pregnancy anyway as I told them I was trying. What did they give you? 5/6 dpo is way too early to tell so I hope they've given you an appropriate one.

I've seen the Great Sperm Race too, it does make you realise how difficult TTC is. I told DH about it and he doesn't believe me!

Suddenly feel sick and dizzy and backache is worse!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 12/07/2017 21:07

That sounds promising Grumpy! Hopefully it's not causing you too much discomfort.

I've been carrying on my wind issues but this afternoon it seems to be more burping and wicked heartburn which I never get. I hope I haven't picked up a bug!

May I join? I posted in the JS thread as well but basically all signs point to having ovulated today, when DH is away. We dtd on Monday and will do it again tomorrow when he returns, but I don't think this will be our month. I'm still going to be on tenterhooks until the 26th though when I'm due.
I do have to laugh, DH acts like he's not that into it, but when I mentioned testing he was able to give me stats on the early testing success rates!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 13/07/2017 07:53

Hey there HolyShmoly 👋🏻 don't forget that sperm can live for up to 5 days so you are by no means out!

My DH is funny too, I think he's symptom spotting as much as me! He made a comment about me running out of pregnancy tests through testing too much and how many had I done already?! When I told him none and I won't be testing until next week as there's no point, he was all like "oh, when will you know then? Can you feel anything yet?" 😂😂😂

Ooh exciting Grumpy!

I am resistant to the most common antibiotics they give for uti. These ones are working and it says safe for pregnancy. Glad to be feeling better. Certainly took my mind off of things for a bit! I think fertility gel may have been the cause. I'm always so careful about getting infections from sex and that's the only thing different.

Welcome Holy 🙋🏼. I know what you mean about feeling like it's not your month. I feel that way too tbh. I feel like I should just magically know if I'm pregnant this early!

Can I ask what everyone's ages are? I am soon to be 34

Bumpkin21 · 13/07/2017 15:39

28 and DH is 31.

Cramps seem to have stopped today. Good sign maybe? No idea!

happybus28 · 13/07/2017 15:56

I am 30 and DH soon to be 32

WaitingTillJuly17 · 13/07/2017 15:57

I'm 31 and DH is 29.

Can I join?

Cycle bloody 9 over here. Ovulation day is today. I've used Evening Primorose Oil this cycle and my god, it's had such an effect on my CM!

Justwaitingforaline · 13/07/2017 16:00

Oh! 22, DH is 24

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/07/2017 19:28

Well sore boobs a bit today and this morning I had af cramps but no af. Only 9dpo tomorrow so still not worth testing which is annoying!!! I'm 31 and DH is 33. I got pregnant in march on cycle 3 post pill but lost it at 10 weeks 😢

HolyShmoly · 13/07/2017 19:30

Thanks. Fingers crossed anyway. Dh is due back from his trip in an hour or so, I might have to jump him before dinner!
I'm 30, dh is 31.

indianmummy25 · 13/07/2017 19:34

Hi , i am here to help , as after six months of waiting , i finally got pregnant , i and my hubby used pregnacare for 2 months ...........didn't work

then bought folic acid and Zinc vitamins from Holland n Barretts ......got pregnannt after a months ............i was taking only half tableet of six as recommended dose for women is 12mg.

so , to conclude i m not sure it is pregnacare or holland and baretts vitamins , but here is my little story , good luck to all of you .

WaitingTillJuly17 · 13/07/2017 20:00

Welcome JustWaiting! What are you doing on MN? It's time to BD 😂! Looks like we have a good few people who will be testing over the next couple of weeks and keep our spirits up!

I'm sorry to hear about your MC Grumpy, it's good to see that you're ready to get back on the baby wagon again though ❤️. I've had some AF cramps too but not due for another 10 days 😢. Got my fingers crossed 🤞 for you guys testing this weekend!

Another strange symptom I seem to have (which I also think I get around AF or maybe it's just all the time 🤔) is being super clumsy and forgetful. I cannot tell you how many objects I have dropped over the last couple of days and I left the milk out on the side this morning, which I've just now discovered as I've gone to make a cup of tea 😭.

Congratulations on your pregnancy IndianMummy!

OP posts:
IfeelFloopy · 13/07/2017 20:33

Do most people test before AF due? I think I would worry that I'd see an evap line after seeing a few on here and get over excited 🙈. I think I'm finding it easier to tell myself I'm unlikely to be pregnant each month so that I'm not as disappointed when AF appears. Plus I'm tight and don't want to waste money on tests haha.

Justwaiting - evening primrose oil you say...I might have to give that a try!

Sorry to hear about your loss grumpy 😔.

Waiting - I get a bit clumsy when I'm premenstral too, but here's hoping it's a sign for you seeing as it's a bit early for it to be pms. My first sign of pms is that I get the rage! It's how I've been able to judge that I'm not pregnant the last few cycles

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/07/2017 21:53

A dreaded Sainsbury's evap I fear! Got to stop testing so early

Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!
HolyShmoly · 13/07/2017 22:17

Ah boo Grumpy. Hopefully something more exciting at the weekend or when you next test.
I'm torn on whether or not to test early. On Sunday 23rd I think I'll be 10 dpo so I might test then, but I feel like I really should wait until AF is due.

McTufty · 13/07/2017 22:23

I'm 33, DH 37!

I've had my static smiley so we have just been at it using our fertile check gel! Hopefully ovulation will be confirmed and I can start my 2ww with you all! Though no idea how long my wait will be. Recently off pill and af 3 days after ov last month. I'm very nervous...

Maybe I'll have to use the evening primrose oil tip as I have hardly any EWCM! justwaiting did you find it delayed ovulation at all? I heard for some people it did.

Congrats indianmummy!

grumpy still early yet, fingers crossed!

floopy it's sensible to wait till AF due but can't imagine I'll have that willpower!

holyschmoly 10dpo a totally respectable day to test!

RosieRo123 · 13/07/2017 23:27

Evening ladies 👋🏻

@WaitingTillJuly17 still windy 💨

So I'm cycle day 29 today. AF was due either today or tomorrow. I've had 2 faint positives. Can't sleep. Waiting to do a clearblue digital in the morning. Tight and burning pain in tummy and back yesterday and today. Constantly felt sick, although not enough to stop me eating. Eek! Xx

Justwaitingforaline · 14/07/2017 00:21

The Evening primrose is bloody great. I don't want to TMI you all too much but my god, it's like someone has turned a tap on down there Grin

Justwaitingforaline · 14/07/2017 00:24

Posted before I'd done!

I only started taking it this cycle after a friend recommended it but it's honestly made a huge difference. I used to get a bit of EWCM but this was a full 4 days work and some super, super stretchy stuff going on. I don't think it's made any different ovulation day wise but I'll report back if this month isn't the month. Recommended dose to help EWCM is 2000mg-3000mg a day, so two capsules. You stop taking them at O though.

CuppaTea86 · 14/07/2017 04:34

Hi, hope you don't mind if I jump onboard?
I am TTC #1 1st cycle, currently 6dpo and AF due 22nd July.
Trying not to symptom spot but it's so difficult to stop myself!!- feeling bloated easily after meals with low abdo cramps and slight nausea.
Slowest 2 weeks I've ever experienced!!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 14/07/2017 06:25

Oh no Grumpy, I'd heard that Sainsbury's tests are not to be trusted ☹️ Hopefully better news at the weekend!

Good to see you got your peak McTufty! Now you're firmly into that TWW with the rest of us, with a nice long luteal phase!

I'm with you HolyShmoly - Ovia says Friday is the first day I should test but I kinda (ok really!) want to test on Thursday as I have a day off and it'll just play on my mind to wait even one more day! I'll be 10 days dpo with AF due Sat/Sun as I can vary between a 28 and 29 day cycle.

Good tip on the Evening Primrose JustWaiting! Might have to do that next month (but I really hope not 🤞🏻). I always notice some EWCM but I think it tends to stay up closer to the cervix so I rarely get a peep. Does that sound right?!

Cuppa, welcome to the thread 👋🏻 I think we'll be testing at more or less the exact same time, how exciting! I hear you on the slow part 😭.

Lastly, mega congrats Rosie! Our first thread pregnancy, maybe you could pop a pic up for us? Sooooooo exciting! Yes I'm still 💨 But more burping (and sicky/heartburn) than the other thank God! I was beginning to wonder if it was just me and I'd never noticed before!
