Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

Maybe just leave it a couple of days Grumpy? I saw on a website that the most common day for implantation is 9 dpo, which is today for you right? Then factor in a couple of days for HCG build up so it still could be too early for you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

TheGrumpySquirrel · 14/07/2017 08:21

Yeah that's right.. I'll try to hold out till Sunday but I doubt it! I got a BFP at 10dpo last time

TheFlame · 14/07/2017 13:52

heya can I join? I'm about 7 dpo and will not be testing till I am 1 day late on the 21st (if I make it that long!)

WaitingTillJuly17 · 14/07/2017 14:11

Yes definitely TheFlame! Hope you're better at waiting than I am, I'm already debating with myself whether I could test on Mon/Tues next week even though Ovia says not to test until Friday!

It's getting harder to fight the urge especially when I feel like AF is literally moments from starting as I've been getting cramps and that heavy feeling so I keep checking my knickers, I could cry as it would make my LP horribly short although I've never had a cycle this short. In fact I could just cry full stop, very emotional today, another AF sign 😭😭😭.

TheFlame · 14/07/2017 14:25

awww, that's so hard!

I hate that 'having to check every 5 minutes' feeling!

CuppaTea86 · 14/07/2017 16:03

How does everyone pinpoint their ovulation day? Ive assumed mine is the day after my positive opk. I've read about temping, which sounds complicated but I think I might give it a go if we are unsuccessful this cycle.
My OH kindly pointed out to me today that my bloating/stomach aches/gas Blush could be put down to over-indulgence on holiday. Which is probably true but I'm still sulking AngryGrin

WaitingTillJuly17 · 14/07/2017 16:23

I think that it's meant to happen between 12 and 36 hours of a peak opk. I'm taking it to be between 12 and 24 hours after due to some twinges around that time (plus it's less time until testing 😂).

I'd be sulking too if that was my DH. Don't they know that it's not polite to point these things out?!

OP posts:
TheFlame · 14/07/2017 17:59

I'm not using any tests at the moment - as I think that would put too much pressure on me and stress me out - though I will think about it in a few more months if I need to.

I use a couple of apps to remind me when is the likely time, keep an eye on discharge, and I sometimes have an ache as well for a couple of hours - it's in my hip / pelvic area and feels a bit like period cramp or needing the loo, but it's not in the right area for that.

HolyShmoly · 14/07/2017 19:17

theflame I think I'm going to try not to use opk until September. I figure this month is a test run, next month will be a bit more concentrated and if we're still trying in September I'll use tests to try and pinpoint a bit better.
cuppa I think ovulation is normally 12-14 days before your period. Over the last few months since I got the implant removed I've been trying to be very aware of my body and logging it in Clue. I noticed ewcm and some crampy pain on around day 22 of my cycle over the last two months so I figure that's when mine is. This also ties fairly closely (but not exactly) into the fertile period predicted by Clue.

WaitingTillJuly17 · 15/07/2017 09:04

So I caved and did an IC at 6/7 dpo. Why you ask? Because I'm an idiot and even though I know the chances were minuscule I just HAD to POAS 😂😂😂 not surprisingly it was a bfn but it was fun there for a minute!

Who have we got testing this weekend? Grumpy is it time yet? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

IfeelFloopy · 15/07/2017 09:30

Today and yesterday I have been feeling crampy. Like AF run up cramps. I'm due on Thursday (sometimes a day early) but never usually feel cramps this early. Unless my body is being cruel and mocking me!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/07/2017 10:04

BFN! Waiting till Monday now

Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!
WaitingTillJuly17 · 15/07/2017 10:14

I was the exact same yesterday Floopy! I am worried that all of a sudden AF is going to appear!

Awwwww that sucks Grumpy, but you're not out yet!

OP posts:
IfeelFloopy · 15/07/2017 15:04

Yea tbh I think it's just my body playing games, I haven't got a good feeling about it this cycle. Gah, the torture!

Aw Grumpy...as Waiting said, you're not out yet! Fingers crossed for you for Monday.

HolyShmoly · 15/07/2017 17:35

Well there's zero point in me trying to symptom spot as I've had a not great stomach and that pre-period crampy feeling off and on all month. DH has had to go away suddenly and in my boredom I've already researched baby books/pregnancy bujos, maternity wear, exercise to do when pregnant, what to bring to the hospital and several other things! I think I need to find a new room to decorate or something to keep my mind off this!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/07/2017 17:42

I don't even know if I'm just imagining it all now. I THINK my boobs are sore but I've thought about it too much!!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 15/07/2017 18:07

Well I'm still rocking the AF cramps and it doesn't help that I'm sure I can feel it coming (if you know what I mean without being too graphic!). Also a bit tender in the boob department but like Grumpy - I'm not sure that it isn't my imagination!

Sorry you're not feeling to great HolyShmoly, hope you feel better soon!

Travelling home from our honeymoon and I feel completely normal again Sad. Actually sad that don't feel sick!
ive been reminding myself that it's possible to feel nothing in early stages and still get a positive test. I won't be testing until 10 dpo at the earliest if I can possibly help it!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 01:01

I worry too when I feel "normal" Cuppa, but once the BFP's start rolling in you'll be wishing to feel normal again I'm sure! I'm so certain that I'm out because surely I would notice something other than the AF symptoms but if people can go their whole pregnancy without realising they're pregnant (at least according to the tv!) then how could we possibly know a week after fertilisation?!

Did you enjoy your honeymoon? Where did you go?

Justwaitingforaline · 16/07/2017 09:37

4DPO and I am feeling rubbish! I've been cramping since O, have a horrible cold and back ache...

Wouldn't it be so nice to just receive a text if you managed to conceive or not? Grin

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 09:48

😂😂😂 JustWaiting! Maybe it could be like when you order from Amazon...

"Your package has been dispatched" maybe for ovulation?!

Then

"Delivery confirmed" for implantation?! 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Justwaitingforaline · 16/07/2017 10:31

Yes, exactly like that! or maybe your wee could be a different colour if 'that time' had been the one that worked...

Is that too much to ask?!

MummysMaison · 16/07/2017 11:23

Hello ladies. I'm currently on CD21. One more week left 😩 I need to sit on my hands!!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 11:34

Welcome Mummy! I'm CD23 and have already tested and got BFN! I know it's too early and it bums me out to see a negative but it's like I'm possessed! Have you had any symptoms?

OP posts:
Chooklass · 16/07/2017 11:38

This thread is so reassuring! Glad I'm not the only one obsessing over tiniest (possibly imagined) symptoms. 2nd cycle trying and only 3DPO but determined to be less crazy than last month ...
