Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

I really want to test but I know what the answer will be lol!

I'm urinating a lot more than usual (DH calls me a camel as I hardly ever go!) and everything tastes very salty. I was eating my favourite snack earlier today and couldn't finish it as it tasted too salty. But then maybe it's just all in my head and I'm being extra vigilant looking for things! I had a lot of cramps around CD14 which lasted for 2 days. No idea what that was! I usually get a twinge when I ovulate but guess what.......this month felt nothing! Grrr what's going on, I just want to fast forward this week!

Have you had any symptoms?
Xx

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 11:53

Hi there Chook 👋🏻 I was determined not to be crazy too but here I am.... we're all a little bit crazy on this thread! Hope it helps you keep your craziness under control!

Mummy I'm right there with you on the symptoms front! I was starving this morning then felt like I was going to be sick halfway through breakfast! A part of me thinks I really must be pregnant otherwise I need to start worrying about what's going on with my body! 😂😂😂

It's so difficult to ignore isn't it. I'm feeling a lot of things that I want to tell DP but stop myself because at the same time I feel like it's not our month.

Admittedly I remember having a few cycles when I was single where I thought...had I of been having sex I'd be convinced that I was pregnant due to feeling phantom symptoms.

Different coloured urine if you've conceived really would be so much more convenient!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 12:40

Yeah Floopy I think half of my worry is that DH will be disappointed too as he's already convinced I'm pregnant. It doesn't help that I cried yesterday when he got his old motorbike out of the garage that he used to visit me on when we first got together in uni 😭 I cried then had a little tantrum and he was like "what's the matter" and I just shouted "I DON'T WANT TO BE CRYING". Seriously I'm unhinged - somebody take me away!

Have any of you got fitbit? I've looked at my resting heart rate and you can see that it goes up a little at ovulation and drops again after, so I'm guessing that's another sign that nothing's happening for me this month. I feel frustrated at myself for getting so worked up about it straight away but it's so hard not to.
DH's grandma has just died yesterday too so I wish I could give him good news next week, but there's always next month.
Waiting, your symptoms sound very promising.

I'm 100% on board of the crampazon updates on your cycle and whether you've conceived.

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 13:50

I do have a Fitbit but I haven't been wearing it just lately 😬 You never know HolyShmoly, keep your chin up until AF shows! Sorry to hear about DP's grandmother.

At the moment I'm pretty sure all my symptoms are going to be a figment of my imagination. Really not convinced but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Love the name Crampazon - if we could make it a reality we'd be rich!

CD30 here and boobs are unmistakably heavy feeling on top. I can't be imagining all this, can I?

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 13:59

How many days is your cycle normally Grumpy? I've seriously been thinking that somehow we can trick our bodies into producing symptoms! My boobs feel huge too but that's a standard AF symptom for me 😔.

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/07/2017 14:22

Usually 30 but sometimes can be longer by a couple of days

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 14:31

Still sounds promising Grumpy!

HolyShmoly · 16/07/2017 15:03

Thanks Waiting, I'm trying not to get too down about it and I won't know for certain until AF comes, I just won't be getting my hopes up.
Grumpy, have you got a day in mind for when you're going to test again?
When is everyone else testing?

HolyShmoly · 16/07/2017 15:04

Father of the Bride 2 is on tv, probably not the best viewing choice.

Chooklass · 16/07/2017 15:39

I'm wondering if pg vitamins and better diet change hormone balance (for better), resulting in different hormone-y symptoms from normal? I definitely felt 'different' last month but got BFN. I've been trying to eat lots of foods to boost progesterone levels, which is bound to have impact on how I feel, whether pg or not! Just at beginning of 2WW for me so going to try and keep as busy as poss!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 16:24

Oh yeah, I was watching Father of the Bride (before I've had to drive DH to A&E for a DIY related incident 😓😑) I was amazed how quickly they went into labour and gave birth... the magic of Hollywood I guess?!

That's interesting Chooklass, what have you been eating?

OP posts:
IfeelFloopy · 16/07/2017 16:43

Holy - my cycle is usually either 27 or 28 days. I'll be testing if I'm a day or 2 late.

Eek waiting, hope your DH is ok

IfeelFloopy · 16/07/2017 19:36

Alright, pretty sure I'm out this month. We're away at the moment, DP has gone out for a while and I can't figure out how this stupid oven works. I got angry and then wanted to cry! PMS for me at its best 🙄. I just want my damn pizza!

glares at oven

CuppaTea86 · 16/07/2017 20:28

Waiting - we went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and it was so relaxing. Have definitely overindulged but will be ignoring the scales for a week or so as most of the tummy bulge is water retention im sure Grin.
I managed to time my cycle spot on for the holiday so had AF week or so before we left, then my presumed OD was bang in the middle. Managed to dtd quite a lot of the days in my fertile period according to ovia so I hope counts for something even though I feel nothing abnormal and it's now CD8. Tbh we both have busy tiring jobs so I can't imagine being able to be that 'active' next cycle so in a way this felt like optimum conditions- sigh!
I can see it working out that our BFP will eventually come unexpectedly in a cycle where we only manage to do it once Grin

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 21:02

Just back from A&E, DH is sore and needs minor surgery in his nail bed but otherwise ok thank God!

Hope you got your pizza Floopy! How dare the oven get between a hormonal woman and her food!

HolyShmoly my cycles are generally 28 days, I'm thinking given today's bad luck I might get a bit lucky with a FRER tomorrow 🤞 Cramping has disappeared today so hopefully a good sign!

Oh Cuppa, Jamaica must have been AMAZING! And a prime opportunity for BD'ing! I have to admit it's hard to make time when you're both busy but as it's early days I'm sure you'll find the time 😉

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/07/2017 21:08

CD31 tomorrow.. hope AF stays away in which case I need to go and buy more FRER because I already used six this TWW.. yes, 6... the shame 😳

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 21:16

😂😂😂 Grumpy! Lloyds have the two pack for £8.99 or even better, Amazon have them for £7.80. It's times like this I'm glad to have Prime, I'll never be more than a day from having them delivered to my door! Lol!

OP posts:
WaitingTillJuly17 · 17/07/2017 06:13

Well it's still a bfn for me, but I'm only 8/9 dpo so will just leave it for a couple of days and keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻. 6 days before a missed period yeah right FRER! Booooooo!

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/07/2017 06:16

Temp still high and no sign of AF which makes it late. Going to buy more FRER today

TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/07/2017 18:20

Bought two more and already wasted one at work this morning. Ffs. BFN. My only hope is that I might only be 11DPO and have implanted late.

Cervix is low but soft and lotiony cm not dry and sticky like pre AF. Cd31. And the waiting game continues

TheFlame · 17/07/2017 18:59

out of interest, do people tell their partners' when they are testing? do you tell/ do they ask about symptoms etc? I don't tend to say anything as it would seem a little bit weird to go into so much detail about if I am feeling bloated twingy, etc
