Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

@MrsMamaG2016 I hate the sight of a FRER bfn. They are just so white and blank Sad sorry to hear that this prob isn't your month, it wasn't mine either Flowers

Mollybear12 · 15/08/2017 19:58

I'm defo having a heavy period, I'm so angry with the world and the bad year I've had, every blow just makes me think I won't move on from losing my baby Boy in may, I'm going to delete all these apps and things and try and not think about it (yeh right),
Good luck everyone, fingers crossed for you all xx

Molly you need to do what is best for you and i hope you get your bfp very soon!!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 15/08/2017 21:58

Sorry I've been absent gang, I've been on holiday, it was lovely but the nausea has moved on to vomiting so I'm not feeling my best! Also have had my booking appointment today which was fine except for the bloods 💉💉💉

Sorry to those who have had bad news this month, I hope next month brings you more luck.

Floopy that's amazing news! I'm glad the Clearblue ovulation tests worked out for you, I really rate them! Will you be going onto the first time pregnancy thread? They're all strangers to me so would be nice too keep up with someone I "know"!

Thank you waiting. Feels so weird being congratulated...it feels as though I'm reading it for someone else when it's aimed at me as it doesn't feel real yet!

Yes the clearblue ovulation tests are great! I only used 3 and here I am! I'd definitely recommend them after my experience.

I have been thinking about moving to the pregnancy threads but actually (and this is going to sound weird) haven't yet told a single soul in real life that I got my bfp. Not even DP! After reading so many posts about chemical pregnancies and knowing how common it is to also miscarry I am so cautious. I just want to wait to actually miss my period first until I tell anyone. Dp said that he would like me to find out first and surprise him with it anyway so if all goes well I'm trying to think of a cool way of doing it Smile

HolyShmoly · 18/08/2017 22:01

@ifeelfloopy did you use the IC ovulation strips before trying the clearblue ones? I tried the IC this month but haven't really got on with them. The only time I got much of a line at all was using fmu and I don't think i'll get a true positive using it just once a day.

IfeelFloopy · 19/08/2017 12:56

No I just went straight to clearblue digital tests. I have read lots of posts over the past few months about ovulation and to me IC looked too confusing. Whereas the digital one gave me a clear answer.

I looked up online the cheapest shop seller which seemed to be wilco and ended up buying the tester that pin points your 2 most fertile days only.

I started testing on the cd the leaflet said to (apparently some ppl start testing way too soon and it confuses the result) and DTD for the next 2 days. It says to use fmu for cb tests...apparently others are supposed to be done in the afternoon...but I'm often up for a wee in the night so waited until afternoon to do the tests each time. So long as you haven't been for 4 hours the leaflet says it's ok to test.

HolyShmoly · 19/08/2017 14:37

Fab, thanks. If this month doesn't work out then I think I'll try them next month. I'm back in the 2ww again so fingers crossed and socks on!

IfeelFloopy · 19/08/2017 15:45

I know that the digital test is much more expensive but I only used 2 test strips before my smiley face so 3 in total. In theory that could have lasted me for 3 months of testing which works out not too bad in my opinion.

Fingers crossed for you this time around Holy. I still don't feel pregnant. It's weird Confused

HolyShmoly · 19/08/2017 17:33

Thanks. I don't mind spending extra, it feels like the ic's were a waste of money though. I'm sure you'll start realising soon once your belly starts making itself known or the sickness kicks in!

rachelandthenoodle · 19/08/2017 18:45

Hi ladies- may I join? I recognise some of you from other threads.

Had a mc in March and was left with retained product so recovering wasn't straightforward. All that is (hopefully) sorted now, and last month was our first real chance of starting ttc again...it didn't work out. So here I am again. Hubby is very positive about this being the month. He thinks my cycle this last month has been more 'normal' and he may be right because I definitely ovulated yesterday, on CD14 which is spot on for me... So now the wait begins...

LMX0 · 20/08/2017 10:12

Well ladies 100% not preg this time spend the weekend in hospital as they has discovered ive a large cyst on my right ovary due to the pain & discomfort i was having was also maybe explain no AF

Welcome newbie 😊 hope you find this thread helpful 😊

I might start using the clear blue ovulation tests too while they are dearer i like the fact you find out your peak/window

HolyShmoly · 20/08/2017 14:47

Ah shite LMXO. Do they need to remove it or what happens next?

Welcome Rachel. Sorry to hear about your mc, hopefully this is a good month for us both!

LMX0 · 20/08/2017 15:08

Hopefully that is not needed but have n see what they want to do

IfeelFloopy · 20/08/2017 21:20

My goodness LM, sorry to hear that. Hope you get it sorted soon.

LMX0 · 20/08/2017 22:36

Thank you 😊

How have you been feeling floppy? Has it sank in yet?

IfeelFloopy · 20/08/2017 23:23

Haha not yet. My boobs were hurting a bit but have stopped and I don't feel nauseous but have no appetite. So I feel no different. Which I am happy about but at the same time trying not to get too excited because it's early days.

LMX0 · 21/08/2017 00:04

Id say enjoy being symptom free while you can 😂 how many weeks roughly are you? And is this your first baby?

IfeelFloopy · 21/08/2017 08:09

As of today I am 4 weeks and 3 days. I got my pretty clear bfps at 11dpo and I'm hoping that's a good sign. My mum and my sister didn't experience morning sickness with their pregnancies and I'm really hoping it's a family trait haha...

How are you doing? Do you know what the next course of action is regarding your cyst?

surreygirl1987 · 21/08/2017 22:40

Can I jump on board? Complete newbie here! Don't understand the ttc lingo yet, have no idea about cycle (came off the pill recently) and just started ttc this month - am guesstimating will be ovulating in a few days so new hubby and I are bd every other day (think that's right??) as we're on honeymoon at the mo! Fingers crossed (or should that be baby dust?) for all!

Hellsbells35 · 25/08/2017 11:52

Welcome @surreygirl1987 I am waiting to start my second 2WW on this forum. I am hoping I haven't missed my OV as I was using sticks to predict, and was waiting to be nearer the zone before starting my regular testing. And first one was bright pink! BD that night, and had done a couple of days before too. So who knows?! Wish I had been at it more :)

Mollybear12 · 05/09/2017 08:10

Hey everyone, not been on here for a few weeks. Hope everyone is okay!
Just wanted to update I got a positive today! Af is due on Saturday I'm only about 12 dpo, I don't even know why I took it! But bfp! I'm so happy and relived!! But I'm going to be a bag of nervous now after losing my last at 20 weeks, but I'm hoping and praying everything will be okay!
Babydust everyone xxx 💋

IfeelFloopy · 06/09/2017 10:16
