Thanks nubian I did feel a bit guilty about being so manipulative, but hope its worth it in the end Grin

ladydolly · 18/07/2017 18:39

So wise mumsnetters. I'm on cd 11. I normally ovulate on cd 16/17. I've had ewcm the last 2 days. I did my first clearblue today and got a static smiley but used afternoon urine rather than morning. I usually use ov sticks so did one as well and got this, would you take that as a positive?

That's great Nubian, fingers xxd for you then.

Good luck with the seduction attempts ladies! I am mostly trying very hard to be nice and not fall out prior to the fw which is any day now... just waiting for a smiley face to appear. It's our weekend to have his daughter so I'm already at a disadvantage.

Since when did they have to be tricked/coerced into having sex anyway ?! I never used to have to make any effort, just getting into bed next to him was enough. Now it's planned seductions!

ladydoll it looks like it needs to get just a little bit darker. I would bd anyway to make sure you don't miss that window. I tested everyday 3 times a day to make sure I catch the surge. It was frustrating though but worth doing when you have loads of the Internet cheapies.

Impatient you soon will get your smiley face! How old is his daughter. My son is 7 and we have to plan bd strategically...first thing in the morning usuallyBlush. The dreaded tww start soonHmm

Impatientmummy36 · 18/07/2017 19:40

Ladydolly I've never used the sticks, but I do use the clearblue... I've never had a static smiley on the very first day, it's normally a few days of build up with blank circles then flashing smileys isn't it... so not sure what to make of that? I think you'd better dtd to cover all bases! :). To be honest I'm starting to doubt all the evidence and wondering when the hell i'm ovulating, keep thinking maybe it's way early or later than I think and I'm missing it!

Nubian she's 12 so it's not like she's going to come in our room (though the 3 year old might!) more a case of having her in the house puts us off as she'd be old enough to know what's going on if she heard anything! Also zero chance of nice dinner, bottle of wine before hand (She stays up too late really but trying not to be wicked step mother sending her to bed!).

Early morning meant to be best time to conceive I read, so you might be onto a winner with your strategy there :)

I'm in the clearblue study advertised on here so that's why I only started today. Opks I do from day 9 but it's never this dark this early! I think I'll do both tomorrow and see but yes, BD is on for tonight!

Impatient sounds like and early morning sneaky one whilst everyone is asleep might be the way to go!

I really want this to be my cycle. So gingers crossed. Baby dust y'all x

Foniks · 18/07/2017 21:39

Af today. Usually would start in the morning, but of course, because I'm waiting on it so much and watching so much, it waited til the evening to start. Isn't it always the way haha.

Im doing the clear blue study too, so at least I'll start the study at the start of a new cycle. One plus point I suppose.
I'm really eager to find out how it works, it sounds quite good. I'm just waiting for the kit to arrive.

A bit Sad even though I knew it was coming.
"Baby dust" I love that Smile. I haven't seen it on here before Nubian started saying it.
Baby dust for you too Nubian Grin

Nubian9454 · 18/07/2017 23:16

Aaah sorry Fonik. It sucks even when we expect it. I think I'm always a tiny bit in denial until af actually shows up then im like damn!

Yes spreading some baby dust so we can all get our Bfps this cycle.

Nubian9454 · 18/07/2017 23:25

It just means good luck really

According to my app my fertile window is coming up although no positives on the opk yet! Just wondering do you ladies do the deed more than once a day when you are ovulating?!

MotherofBoy · 19/07/2017 10:49

Hi ladies just checking in. Nothing to report, CD8 here. Feeling v emotional as it is DS birthday this week, he will be 2. can't bear the though of another month of bfns. Trying to take it easy this month, haven't done any cervix/cm checking yet and don't plan to pick up an opk. For the last 6 months I have ovulated on CD14 so kind of don't see the point now if I always ovulate on the same day! Still doing my bbt but that's it. Don't have any pregnancy tests in the house except the cheap ones and will need your support to keep it that way... I plan to wait it out this month and go with the flow. New approach. Hey ho it can't hurt.

Foniks · 19/07/2017 11:15

Karpuzkiz I think some people do and some don't. One thing I read actually suggested not to, because apparently it will give time for the "good" sperm to build back up, and because he'll be less tired, because his tiredness and stress levels are important with this stuff too. Some things i read even suggested dtd every other day instead of every day too, but to dtd every other day throughout the month not just in certain weeks.

I actually saw a man's thread on here recently, asking other men what he can do to help conception because everything he found was all geared towards women. General consensus was just make sure she orgasms, so the cervix dips down and hopefully catches more swimmers.

Nubian I got it. I just like it, makes me think of a little good luck fairy sprinkling special baby dust. Like the sandman or tooth fairy or something haha.

Mother I'm sorry Sad agree, take it easy. So many people say they finally conceived when they stopped trying and stopped stressing about it all. Tbh, the cheap pregnancy tests make no difference anyway, and for some people they even work better than others. I know my friend (5th child due soon!) always gets negative early tests on more expensive ones and positive on cheaper ones, so now she just sticks to cheaper ones. I think she buys them from poundland of all places!

Happy birthday to DS, and good luck for next cycle.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 19/07/2017 17:07

Fingers crossed for your new approach mother and happy birthday to your DS. Mine is 2 at the end of next month.

Foniks I didn't realise Poundland sold pregnancy tests - might have to go investigate and save myself some pennies

Nubian9454 · 20/07/2017 19:47

Ttc is no doubt stressful. I am planning to try you approach mother if I don't conceive this cycle. I'm in the the dreaded tww now. Anyone in the tww yet? karpuzkiz I don't usually. Once a day once positive opk and then every other day.

ladydolly · 20/07/2017 20:19

I am nubian. After the static smiley on tuesday I had another on weds morning and opk dark as before then by evening light and yesterday both all clear. We dtd tues and weds. I was at least 5 days earlier than normal on ovulating so nearly missed it altogether!! Hoping that's enough. So now 1dpo. Ovuview says af due 31st july but think I'll test around the 28th. Fingers crossed for us both!!

1000jobstodo · 20/07/2017 20:42

Hi all Smile just checking in to see how you're all doing. Hope the 2ww isn't being too difficult (although I know it's bloody hard). Thinking of you all, and hope August is the month for all of you!
X

Aneta553 · 21/07/2017 03:22

Thanks darling Flowers @belle2008 Awesome to hear that! My best wishes for you, Keep hopes high :) xxxx

Nubian9454 · 21/07/2017 05:24

Good to know I'm not alone *ladydoll. I ovulated late. Thought I wasn't having one this month but got 2 days of beautiful positives. I am 3dpo and according to babymed and Glow af due to NOT arrive on 1 August. Finets crossed this is our cycle.

Thank 1000. Right now I'm playing it cool but as time goes by I tend to lose it a litthe lol.

Baby dust y'all xx

Nubian9454 · 21/07/2017 05:34

Thought I would share an article I found really funny! And might possibly implement during the tww. I already cleared out my wardrobe and have been whispering to my belly LolGrin

Two Week Wait Activity List – Surviving The Two Week Wait

By BellyBelly in Conception. Last updated on August 3, 2015
Two Week Wait Activity List - Surviving The Two Week Wait
As any woman who is trying to get pregnant can tell you, the two weeks from ovulation to the due date for your next period are pure torture.

You promise yourself you’ll just wait it out, distract yourself with other activities and you won’t even THINK about taking a pregnancy test until you’re at least a day overdue.

Then something happens – your breasts start hurting in a slightly different way than they did before, you get slightly nauseous, you have some spotting, or nothing happens, but you find yourself waking up wishing you could go to sleep again so that it would be another day closer to knowing.

You can’t think, you can’t sleep, you can’t work, and you start taking HPT’s days before they are even possibly meaningful. You are deep in the abyss of THE TWO WEEK WAIT!

In my opinion, it’s no use advising women to stop obsessing, it’s impossible.

The Two Week Wait
Instead, I give you a list of more productive ways to obsess. Please note, however, that there is a limit that each woman must define for herself, between indulging in some baby daydreaming and going overboard. I’ve included some examples below:

Two Week Wait Tip #1: Take A Walk Around Your Neighbourhood

… and figure out what will be the best route for strolls with the baby. Find areas with nice pavements and easy curbs. Go ahead and daydream. But do NOT buy a stroller for the dog.

Two Week Wait Tip #2: Clean Out Your Wardrobe

… to make room for the maternity stuff you’ll be buying soon.

Try on anything you haven’t worn for six months. Yes, if you wish, you may put a pillow in your undies to see what will work as maternity wear. But taking a picture of yourself like that is going too far.

Two Week Wait Tip #3: Start A Journal

Write down everything you’re feeling. It will be a great opening chapter for your child’s baby book. If you can’t put your feelings into words, draw something; try to create a symbol that expresses the frustration you’re feeling. Don’t get that symbol tattooed on your ankle.

Two Week Wait Tip #4: Plant A Hope Garden

Or a hope rosebush. Or a hope citrus tree. You want to grow something inside of you, well start by growing something outside of you. Nurture it. Feed it. Give it water. Talk to it. But do not send out birth announcements.

Two Week Wait Tip #5: Get Better At Photography

Really learn how to work all the buttons and settings on your camera. Experiment! Get all the downloading and editing stuff worked out. You will be well prepared once you have a baby, and will be able to get some great shots and get them emailed to your family before the child’s graduation. Do not take photos of your cervical mucous, even if Toni Weschler begs you.

Two Week Wait Tip #6: Make An Appeal To The Committee Meeting Going On Inside You

Sperm, egg, uterus, corpus luteum, progesterone – they are in there either making a baby or not. Treat them like any other unruly committee you’ve ever addressed. Yes that’s right, go ahead and talk to them. Put your hands on your stomach and tell them how much you respect them. Make your best argument in favor of a baby, and then let them decide. It’s out of your hands. Addressing the committee within earshot of normal people is not recommended.

Two Week Wait Tip #7: Paint Your Toenails

Imagine how difficult this will be when you are pregnant. Go shopping for the perfect pink and blue nail polish in preparation for a celebration polish. Alternating colors on the day you find out you’re pregnant, or a single color for the day you find out the baby’s sex. Don’t be tempted to paint a cycle day countdown on your big toes.

Two Week Wait Tip #8: Make A Cup Of Herbal Tea

It is a nice ritual: boiling the water, adding the tea leaves, pouring into a nice china cup, adding some milk or sugar, sipping peacefully. Ahhhh. There’s nothing that a nice cup of tea won’t help. Yeah right. Well it does kill a little bit of time.

Two Week Wait Tip #9: Swim Laps

Think about the sperm and how they need to swim to your egg. Imagine that you are a sperm, the end of the pool is the egg, then GO, GO, GO! Don’t wear a tail or anything. Just imagine it quietly.

Two Week Wait Tip #10: Make Lists

List all the people you will tell when you get pregnant, and in what order. List all the little jobs you need to get done instead of obsessing about this 2WW! List all the healthy activities you intend to do this week. List all the girl and boy names you like. Lists are helpful for all sorts of things, most of all for passing time rather than actually doing something.

Two Week Wait Tip #11: Create A Fertility Dance

Choose whatever music speaks to your soul and make up a dance routine as a prayer to the universe for the growth of an embryo. Move your hips, rotate your belly, let your arms flow – but close the curtains.

Two Week Wait Tip #12: Prepare A Folic Acid Feast

Cream of broccoli soup as an entree, followed by spinach lasagne, enriched whole grain garlic bread and frozen orange juice sorbet for dessert. Dedicate the meal to your baby-to-be. Just don’t set a highchair at the table in his or her honor.

Two Week Wait Tip #13: Delegate The Burden Of The Two Week Wait

Clearly someone has to worry constantly during this time, but does it have to be you? Divide the days up among your best friends and closest family. On their assigned day they are required to think, wonder, and worry all day about whether you are pregnant or not. At the end of the day they have to call or send you email describing how agonizing it was. Also they have to report to you if they had any “symptoms,” such as sore breasts, excessive urination, nausea, bleeding, fatigue… you will be surprised how many people, male and female, have early pregnancy symptoms if they just look for them.

Two Week Wait Tip #14: Write A List Of 14 Things To Do During The Two Week Wait

… and post it on the internet. For me, this killed nearly 3 hours. Now what? I’ve still got 9 days to go? Aaaarrgrhhhh.

Like that Nubian! Funnily enough clearing out wardrobes is on my list of things to do...

I'm not in tww yet. At the flashing smiley stage. The confusing bit where you don't want to exhaust you both by dtd too much too early.... but equally can't risk missing those vital days 1 and 2 days before ovulation so you have to just get on with it!

Expecting OV around Sunday, so tonight and sat are a must, minimum. And I've got to go to a hen night on sat !!!! I don't know them that well so may have to leave early, and won't feel too bad!

May this be the golden month where you and all of us get our little rainbows and Bfp Impatient. I still get excited when I see a positive opk and I'm like yay I have another opportunity! I know about exhausting self and dh too early. But at same time don't want to miss that window. This cycle we just did it maybe 2 to 3 times during fertile window. Last cycle we tried everyday but it's too exhausting. Good luck x

Karpuzkiz · 21/07/2017 16:53

I'm still waiting for positive opk testing once in the morning and late afternoon/early evening with the cheapies but getting annoyed! Thought I would ovulate today but nothing! Hoping it's either today or tomorrow so trying to be positive! We have a date night tonight so here's hoping he doesn't get too tipsy! Hmm If it's not to be this month I'm going to buy the clear blue sticks - I love the idea of a flashing face rather than a line I'm desperately trying to invent! Although saying that I'm sure I'll be making up the face is smiling at me! Grin

Nubian9454 · 21/07/2017 20:38

karpuzkiz that's how I felt this cycle. Ovulation was way Kate and I got frustrated with the negative opks! Keep testing you will get your positive soon x
