Not sure if I should start new thread for this? Is there one open already?

I only have 1 FRER left! I'm going to wait till Saturday when I'll be 10dpo. I think I'm 8dpo today but could be 9

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/07/2017 22:15

Thank you!

StepAwayFromGoogle · 13/07/2017 22:21

I thought you couldn't get a false positive?! Grin

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/07/2017 22:26

Apparently on these Sainsbury's tests you can? They are 15miu sensitivity and FRER are12.5 so it should show on the FRER if it's real

StepAwayFromGoogle · 13/07/2017 22:41

Crikey, what a minefield! Keep us posted. Fingers and toes crossed, Grumpy

emvy · 14/07/2017 06:55

Why are you thinking it's a false positive grumpy? I have everything crossed for you for Saturday! 🤞🏻

emvy · 14/07/2017 06:56

Ah, because you also tested with a higher sensitivity test and that came out negative. I'm with you now, sorry. It's Friday! 🙈😂

rachelandthenoodle · 14/07/2017 07:23

Hi ladies- so pleased for those of you with good news going on! Please stay with us and keep the rest of us hopeful. 😀

@Lime19 I saw this and thought Of you. Not sure if you're anywhere nearby, or if anyone else might be interested. I don't have pcos but a friend of mine shared the link so I'm passing it on.

No real news from my end. I've been three days now without bleeding (after six weeks and three days😕), which is amazing. It's just been so brilliant to be able to DTD again and go out of the house without a bag stuffed full of sanitary towels! #winning 😂But of course I have NO idea where my cycles are so just having to start from scratch and guess. x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 14/07/2017 07:27

It is sooooo frustrating!! I'm feeling a bit different from last month- sore boobs for example, not to mention the constant cramping for the last 5 days (which has stopped today) but I feel mostly normal. I don't want to see another paper white FRER tomorrow!

Lime19 · 14/07/2017 07:43

There's no doubting this is my af. It's pretty heavy now after a very slow start! I'm so excited. Hope it doesn't drag on so I can get back to dtd!

I'll take a look at that link! Thanks.

Fingers crossed grumpy!

Is it Sainsbury's and Superdrug tests that are notorious for false positives? After seeing a couple of threads I decided to keep well away from those ones.

Good luck @TheGrumpySquirrel I have a feeling it won't be paperwhite... keep us all updated! Flowers

yellowfrontdoor · 14/07/2017 08:04

@Lime19 yay for AF!

I'm undecided whether to be sensible and wait for AF or whether to crack straight on like last time.

Ekphrasis · 14/07/2017 09:48

Oooh grumpy! I had this - Sainsbury's seem really sensitive OR they show rubbish evaps!

I had exactly this, then a FRER did start to show a faint line. Mine was later though, around 12 dpo and became my chemical.

I'd test in a couple of days I wouldn't really, it would be every day

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/07/2017 09:55

Fingers crossed for some clarity and good news Grumpy!

Hope you're feeling alright Lime, so pleased it showed up and has been convincing and yes, now it's put your mind at rest hopefully it naffs off soon!

yellow, play it by ear and see how you feel I think. Have you had a BFN yet?

I read the entirety of the Taking Charge if your Fertility book last night, hundreds of pages, though I skipped using it for contraception - because I'm trying my very hardest to get myself knocked up! Smile

It's absolutely brilliant. Fertility Awareness Method, which is temping (I'm such a massive convert, had NO IDEA how much it can tell you?!), checked cm and add in cervix position if you want to. It's so so simple and we're all mostly following some of the principles on here already but as a whole picture it's blown my mind. It's answered so many questions I've had and that we've discussed on here as well.

Right, sorry, enough enthusing! But it's great when you find something which just makes sense. And FF seems to apply most of the logic, it's a stonking bit of work, so helpful.

Hope everyone's okay today x

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/07/2017 09:56

Oh, also, one of my main realisations was I've actually ovulated later than I thought I did, for pretty much the whole time I've been TTC! So I've often tested way earlier than was sensible. Who knew?!

Hey Ek, how are you doing?

Ekphrasis · 14/07/2017 10:10

I'm ok thanks - I've also learnt about cervix position temping etc.

I can now tell if my temp is dropping in the run up to af or raising in run up to preg without taking after monitoring. Not temped this month as taking a break, but I can feel af is coming. I also happened to monitor cervix last month before the brief pregnancy - apparently it can be hit and miss, but I did feel it disappear completely as I got a first faint line. My uterus felt like a balloon too!

My positive opk must have been a rise of something before af as they say. The next day was negative. Before my chemical though they did get progressively stronger. (I'm just testing the theories!)

I'm 12 dpo and my cervix has dropped. I'm expecting af in the next couple of days. I'm pleased actually as this month confirms my luteal phase is good. I sometimes ovulate early for some reason, hence slightly shorter cycles.

NoCatsHere · 14/07/2017 10:20

Wow so the things you learn on here! I'm liking the sound of this temping lark. anne tell me, could you get up to go to the bathroom to take temperature or must you do it lying down in bed? DH doesn't want to know I'm peeing on things etc to know when I'm fertile, as it's our third baby he doesn't want me going mad like I did trying to conceive ds2!! It took almost two years and I descended into a pee on anything voodoo magic nightmare! So I'm trying to be subtle about it all this time! Grin

In other news I'm cd24 have zero symptoms other than a stinking cold and have no idea how many dpo i might be or even if I ov this month.... I'm def not testing until next wednesday though at the latest!

NoCatsHere · 14/07/2017 10:22

And grumpy so hope for a not white FRER tomorrow - everything crossed for you!

Flashinthepan · 14/07/2017 11:06

grumpy I'm crossing everything for a definitive BFP for you tomorrow!

So I seem to have identified a new pattern, which is that I ovulate alternate months really early at CD 10 and other months on CD13. So this seems to have been a super early OV month, we only DTD on CD7 and 8 so I think that's not really enough. But I've been on the Agnus Castus since Monday, and I'm now CD13 and no spotting! FX this is a good month. I only have a 10 day LP, so not too long til next fertile week.

BertieBotts · 14/07/2017 11:15

Grumpy I have a good feeling!

You can see compared to the FF data that Ovia is way out. I was squinting at that thinking you must have ovulated on CD 16 or 17 and wondering where on earth it had got that strange coverline and odd fertile window from but scrolled down to see the FF one which made much more sense Grin

I am 7dpo today and Fertility Friend puts our timing at "high" - apparently DH's broken foot means he can't run away from sex Grin Grin

I hugely covet TCOYF actually - just never really brought myself to actually buy it. Perhaps I'll look into getting a used copy from amazon. I want to get Kate Evans' book "Bump" but I don't know whether to wait until I'm pregnant. Maybe I'll leave it a couple of months and then go on a fertility book buying spree!

Smurf123 · 14/07/2017 11:17

Morning all
I've just been to gp (but couldn't get my normal one!) she said she will refer me to epu but that they won't see me until at least 7 weeks :-/ my booking scan first time round was 8 weeks and I had epu scans every 2 weeks from 4 weeks last time so I don't understand...
Asked about hayfever tabs and aspirin... Been told no to the hayfever stuff which is one be fair I'd already stopped taking anyway about a week ago. But resulting in eyes that are a puffy mess and constant sneezing.. Been told I can take eyedrops but not the tablets. And with regards to aspirin she said she doesn't think I should take it yet :-/ which I'm not particularly happy about. Apparently this would be prescribed by gynaecology or rmc if they thought it was needed.. I did make the point that yes but I was referred to rmc/gynaecology in February But am still waiting on the appointment to even come through... She has said she will phone the epu to get me appointment and will ask them at that point..

BertieBotts · 14/07/2017 11:29

Cats I suppose you could go to the bathroom, but it might be easier just to get a thermometer which doesn't beep? DH didn't even notice I was temping for months and months! Plus, you could tell him that it doesn't actually tell you anything in advance, you only really get the information in retrospect, so it's much more of a "So, how did we do?" than a "Should we shag yet?"

Lastly as an argument for using fewer pregnancy tests, it's phenomenal. I barely ever test now because I know from my temps whether it's likely or not.

yellowfrontdoor · 14/07/2017 11:39

I have really long cycles so I forced myself to wait until 21 dpo to test... it was excruciating though I do admit but much better for me in that I was slightly less worried about chemicals.

@Smurf123 obviously not a medical professional here but I'm going to start aspirin as soon as I hopefully! get another bfp, although hospital doctor said about taking it from the time I see a heartbeat. But then I think if I'm not offered an early scan, how would I know?! If anyone has any advice on aspirin I'm all ears x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 14/07/2017 12:27

@BertieBotts but I didn't get a positive OPK until cd 18 so can't have ovulated earlier than that. At the most I'm 10dpo today, more likely 9. Temp still up there this morning so that's good.. trying not to get my hopes up too much!! AF due Monday for a 30 day cycle

TheGrumpySquirrel · 14/07/2017 12:31

Really hope it works this month 🤞🏼🌈👶🏼
