Thread 30, TTC #1 | Hilda hopefuls are still riding the shag wagon

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has well and truly worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Hi everyone, long time no speak. Sorry I've been awol, do keep reading and following the thread though and praying for lots more grads from this thread.

Hope you're all doing ok. Thinking of this thread often.

KerryLeanne84 · 25/06/2017 19:44

Thanks all ❤️❤️❤️

Flora I had iui because we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility last October. Came off pill march 15, first went to gp may16. Where I live you get 3 gos at iui and one at ivf though I know some areas don't do iui at all.

Miranda234 · 25/06/2017 20:33

Huge congratulations kerry, wonderful news!

All the best for tomorrow sk1pper, and have an amazing honeymoon.

Good luck for your scan on Tuesday scandal

Love the blanket hep, you've made me want to start knitting again although I am nowhere near your level!

Really hope IVF works for you pyjamas

I still think of you all and wish you your BFPs very soon xxx

otters2017 · 25/06/2017 22:03

Massive congrats kerry

Happy wedding day for tomorrow sk1pper and enjoy the honeymoon! Where are you off to ? Hope you get a honeymoon baby!

Beautiful blanket hep I'm sure your niece will love it.

flash temp chart looks promising but I'm completely new to it. Mine is up and down like a yo yo! I'm probably not doing it properly.

jam hope you get on better with the second round of clomid and you don't get the terrible side effects

pjs so glad ivf is going well for you. Fingers crossed it works first time! Glad the therapy is helping.

flora sorry AF got you. Hope it's going to be a successful cycle this time.

I'm still desperately hoping for a BFP this cycle. I'm pretty sure I've ovulated as my temps have been up since then and I keep getting twinges on my right which is where the follicles were. Nothing on the left at the scan. Equally worried about the colposcopy next week and implications. Going through best case scenarios and worst case scenarios in my head! Had a lovely sociable weekend so it's helped to take my mind off things a little. Hope everyone has a good week ahead!

sk1pper · 25/06/2017 22:42

Thank you everyone for your kind messages. I'm looking forward to tieing the knot with my OH (we've been together 11 years and living together for 9) even though we both want the day to be over and done with. I know it sounds odd but we hate being in the limelight, we just like chugging along with our own private lives. My family accept my very low key wedding, I'm not sure by OH's fam are that over the moon about it and they despair of our indifferent attitude. But I can't help the way I am, so they just need to get used to it.

Jam - id love to show you a pic of the dress but yeah it's probably a bit risky. Also you'd probably all be very disappointed, it's not a traditional bridal gown. I won't pay out for something I'll only wear once. The dress I've got is nice, mainly white and I'll be able to reuse it in the future for special occasions.

Otters - were going to Japan. Now that I am excited about Grin

This is probably my last post for a couple of weeks so good luck girls. Pyjamas - good luck with your IVF. Kerry - good luck with your next steps. Jam - good luck with the Clomid. Thinking of you all.
Xxxx

All done! I'm still responding well - the 9 follicles have grown. She said earliest earliest for egg collection will be Friday will be Friday so am provisionally booked in (eep!) but could be between Friday and Monday. It's all happening so quickly!! She said my womb lining was "beautiful" - you know you're long term TTC when you think that's one of the best compliments you've ever had 😂😂

MouseLove · 26/06/2017 08:35

Massive congratulations Kerry better believe that's no mistaking!!!!! 😊

Pyjamas massive good luck for this week, and congratulations on having a beautiful womb!!! 😂😎

Sk1pper have an amazing wedding day and an even more awesome honeymoon. Can't wait to hear all about it. Xxx 😍😘

harrietm87 · 26/06/2017 09:52

Ha ha pyjamas I wish my womb was beautiful! Well done you!

skipper have a fantastic day and honeymoon!!

otters interesting you've been getting twinges since ovulation - I had really bad ov pains this month and then have been having left sided pain on and off ever since, especially at night (prob when I'm lying down and not distracted so notice it more). I'm only 4dpo so it's definitely too early for implantation pain, and I didn't have this in any of my previous pregnancies , so have been wondering what is going on! Obviously worrying it's something bad like a ruptured cyst ffs!

Kathrino · 26/06/2017 10:04

Excellent news pyjamas, glad all is going well!

florafoxtrot · 26/06/2017 10:08

Have a lovely day Skipper - even though its not really your thing - just try to take the time to remember that everyone is there to celebrate you and your happiness and you might not have the chance to have all those people together again in the same place.

Excellent update PJs and so glad that it seems to be working out for you. Are you experiencing any side effects from the treatment or you getting on ok?

Know its not easy Harriet but try not to think the worst about the twinges, I have them every month and no idea what causes them but think its just because I am so hyper sensitive to everything that is going on and you'll be the same.

We had another GP appointment this morning just to go through all the results and for a bit of a chat really, told her that I just felt really sad about it all and got a big lecture about the power of hope Hmm bad news is that the referral could take up to 4 months to come through - which was a real kicker. We'll get paperwork through soon and she highlighted the importance of getting it filled in and returned but still just seems like so far away - although I know its not that long in the grand scheme to things. GP also did that thing where she was like "oh you're so...checks screen ...young!" and "and you are both healthy and.... checks our waistlines not overweight...."

Hope the clomid is going OK Jam - its tough but remember if you are feeling sad or angry to try to remember that it is just the Clomid and that you are fine - and will feel better in a few days - exactly the same as you do on CD1.

Hope everyone else is doing OK, thanks for the kind words yesterday.

Pyjamas81 · 26/06/2017 11:14

I've barely had any symptoms at all other than the odd twinge here and there flora - I've been very lucky! I know the hard part is coming though... and who knows how all the progesterone after transfer will make me feel. I just can't believe it could all happen as soon as this Friday - crazy!!

Flashinthepan · 26/06/2017 11:17

I'm so excited for you Pyjamas.

KerryLeanne84 · 26/06/2017 11:27

That's so exciting Pjs that it could be this Friday! Good luck! A beautiful womb is an awesome compliment!

I've been thinking about what if anything I did differently this cycle (apart from having IUI) and I've come up with:

  • had pineapple core 3dpo - 8dpo and lots of pineapple
  • i had been taking the coq10 for around 2-3 months now so perhaps that had an impact on the development on the egg
  • I read something that said that having sex after IUI was good because blood flow around the uterus is what you want, so I made sure to have one orgasm a night (too hot for actual sex so more manual!).
  • the progesterone supps to try to lengthen my luteal phase and support a pregnancy
  • lots of resting then in tww - I didn't go to the gym at all but I did cycle to work.
Jamon · 26/06/2017 12:23

Flora you've got the ball rolling and it's positive your GP is not overly concerned about your results. What did she say about hope, out of interest? When you get your referral might you be able to call the department directly for a cancellation?

I can really really sympathise with the frustration of waiting though. I'm desperate to start IVF and have to wait until October. I feel like my life is on hold until then! I saw some brown leaves on the floor and had a genuine surge of excitement that Autumn was coming! Never have I wished away the summer like this 😣

Jam hugs. Someone tried to tell me on Friday re having children/not having children that "you can't miss what you've never had". This person has two kids, so has no idea what a load of crap that is.

flora it's interesting how so many medical professionals even struggle to comprehend/sympathise with the emotionall toll of TTC. The bonus to being young, a healthy weight and otherwise well, is that when you do get pregnant, however that happens, there's a much better chance of a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby, even though it doesn't feel like much of a consolation at the moment.

harrietm87 · 26/06/2017 12:52

Nooooo flash that's awful. The insensitivity of some people is mind blowing.

florafoxtrot · 26/06/2017 12:55

I'm very excited for you too PJs and very nosy too since its looking like we are heading in the same direction.

It was just about not giving up hope Jam and trying not to let the disappointment get to us because it only takes one etc. etc. All very standard stuff that you'd expect to get from a well wisher. I just thought she could have offered a bit more information rather than just "wait"
I am being a cow though since its CD2 and Monday.

Is the wait until October to do with funding? I really hope it comes around quickly for you, maybe we will end up going through it at the same time? Definitely with you on the whole wishing my life away! And it makes me quite sad. Sad

Thanks for that Kerry - all very interesting and none of the above is a great hardship really. I've been on the Coq10 for about a month now so hopefully its doing something and brewing up some good eggs!

florafoxtrot · 26/06/2017 12:56

What a ridiculous thing for someone to say to you flash

For what its worth I'm also missing being a millionaire.

People are asshats

Pyjamas81 · 26/06/2017 13:20

That is such a terrible thing to say flash! What an ASSCLOWN.

Happy to share about what it all involves 😊

Jamon · 26/06/2017 13:21

What an absolute douchebag flash I would have had to say something. That is not just insensitive but rude! Stupid woman. * *

Flora either funding or just their waiting list - I'm not sure which. It'll be almost two years TTC when we start IVF so I feel like we will have given trying naturally a really good chance to work. You are allowed to be a cow on day 2 also my dear xx
