So in the absence of our lovely founder Hippy, I've set up thread #6 to help us keep up the motivation and PMA.

Congratulations to all our grads, the rest of us may be slacking behind but we'll be there soon!

How're doing @ArchiesMamaBird?? Am i remembering right that you're at the end of the tww now??

CakesALot · 04/07/2017 07:29

So sorry af came in full force @Chipsahoy. Can't help you on the vitamins I'm afraid. I'm one of those people that buy all that kind of stuff in and take them for a week then forget all about it 🙈

ArchiesMamaBird · 04/07/2017 09:50

Cakes Well I haven't been tracking dates this month, but I think I'm about 14dpo today which means AF is due to arrive any minute (I've been on knicker watch for the last 4 days, and I'm 99% sure today is the last day she could be here). Feeling a bit crampy though and have been the last few days so I'm sure she's on her way!

CakesALot · 04/07/2017 14:18

Oo I can feel the tension! That's the downside of being so in tune with your body you can't but help know when things are meant to be happening 😂 here's hoping she's not coming back though!

ArchiesMamaBird · 04/07/2017 14:43

Cakes So annoying!! I could technically be 15/16/17dpo in which case AF is late, buuuuuut I'm erring on the side of caution! Grin

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Archies.

AF arrived for me on Sunday. Someone on the infertility board recommended Agnus Castus to help with my luteal phase spotting so planning to try that. Only 4 more cycles until I get referred to the fertility clinic so fingers crossed something happens before then!

ArchiesMamaBird · 04/07/2017 15:06

Flash So sorry she arrived for you. Yes I've heard fab things about Agnus Castus, but I've heard you should avoid it if your LP is fine, so that's why I haven't tried it at all Smile But FX it works for you.

Flashinthepan · 04/07/2017 15:24

Mine is only 10 days I have realised from temping. Lengthened from 8 days by B50 complex. But I'm willing to try anything!

MissMagpie · 04/07/2017 20:32

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been awol since posting. Been so busy with work and the 2yo DC.

I reckon I am 10 dpo and think AF is on her way. Lots of cramping and my boobs, which were very full, have kind of deflated! Lol. They have been mega sore in the past couple of days but still think that is a sign of AF this month.

We are cycle buddies again Archies! Hope you have more luck than me this month.

ArchiesMamaBird · 04/07/2017 22:39

Magpie yay cycle buddy! I caved and POAS earlier and got a BFN. And since then I've been reaaaaaaally crampy so I know AF will be here tonight/tomorrow.

But the positive thing is that my LP has definitely gone back to 14 days now 😊

Ooh and I can call up to book my HSG in on CD1, so I'll have that to look forward to within the next 2 weeks 😬

OP posts:
Flashinthepan · 05/07/2017 08:40

Archies are you having your HSG done privately or referral from NHS?

ArchiesMamaBird · 05/07/2017 09:11

Flash it's an NHS referral. We went to see a gynaecologist on Friday and he gave me the number for the HSG department, and just told me to call on CD1 and get booked in before CD10. Although I've just phoned and they haven't put my details on the system yet Hmm

So yeah AF is here, but I'm looking forward to another relaxed month Smile

MissMagpie · 05/07/2017 09:26

Archies sorry for AF arriving but yay to making progress with the HSG.
I need some advice:
This is my 12th cycle of ttc #2.
I had 2 early miscarriages/ chemicals recently. The previous two cycles to this one actually. My GP said I obviously don't have a fertility issue. But I am 35 this year and my DS is 3 later this year too so I have been preparing for my 2nd for a while.

Should I go back to the GP and ask to be referred for a scan or something? I know I am ovulating as I do opks and always get a static smiley around day 20 of my cycle. I did have to go to out of hours late last year with pains that they thought were a cyst but it was never explored further.

Or am I just being impatient and need to let nature take its course?!

loababy · 05/07/2017 10:02

oooo seems im joining the cycle buddies as AF arrived for me yesterday. I'm so pleased I'm back to a semi-normal cycle after that horrible long one last month.

I've got lots of lovely things going on my life at the moment so been pretty busy. I would love to get to my goal weight before getting pregnant so I'm working really hard towards that at the moment, but obvs if it happens before that I would still be very happy! :)

Flashinthepan · 05/07/2017 10:09

Can I ask why they've referred you for it? Sorry for all the questions! I really want to have one on my remaining tube but haven't ever had it suggested on the NHS.

ArchiesMamaBird · 05/07/2017 10:30

Magpie Well the official advice is that you should see your GP after trying for 6 months if you are over 35. So I would definitely go and see them. I know they said that you must be fertile as you've had 2 CP's/early miscarraiges, but maybe there's some issue which is stopping you from carrying the pregnancy any further? Obviously I don't know a massive amount of info about it, but if you see the GP at least you can get the ball rolling and you are handing over a bit of the control and that can make you feel a lot more positive/hopeful. Well I definitely do anyway Smile My DS is 3.5 now, and we started trying a year ago because we didn't want a huge age gap. But even if we get lucky this cycle, there will be over 4 years between them. But I've just accepted that what will be, will be. And he will be the best big brother when it finally happens Smile

Loa Sorry Af arrived, but yay to being cycle buddies! And that's great news that your cycle has started to regulate again.

Flash I went to the GP in Jan and told a little white lie that we'd been trying for a year (it was only 7 months at the time) but I was a bit worried because I has an emergency C-section with DS and they cut my bladder, and I was worried that they might have done some more damage too (I had to go under general anaesthetic and it was a massive rush because DS was in distress, so I've always wondered if they could have caused slight damage that could be preventing me conceiving). I had blood tests which came back fine, so they then sent me for an ultrasound which showed polycystic ovaries, and then they said the next step would be a HSG. I think they just want to rule everything out really. I think once they've done all the other tests, a HSG is the last step to check everything is ok Smile

ArchiesMamaBird · 05/07/2017 14:44

So I made the mistake of googling HSG's and have read some HORROR stories about them being really painful!! Has anyone had one (I think you have Patient?) Please talk me down and tell me it will all be ok Grin

notparticularlypatient · 05/07/2017 15:09

Sorry that af got you loa and Archies. And Fx she doesn't turn up at your door magpie! If she does, I do understand your frustration of being a year down the line and still no pregnancy. Did you have the blood tests done measuring AMH and FSH? I guess that would give you some indication of whether you have a lot of time left - which you probably have. 35 is not old fertility wise, unless, of course, you plan to have 5 more kidsGrin. But ruling out that anything is wrong (again, it most likely isn't!) could maybe give you some peace of mind?

Archie I did have the hsg and it wasn't very painful. Felt mostly like pressure, and while it was a bit uncomfortable, it was over quick. I think I took a couple of paracetamol before I went for the appointment though, so that may be a thing to do.

Flash I don't know how helpful this is, but I recently went to see a fertility specialist. He didn't raise an eyebrow when I mentioned that my lp was nine days - he clearly was not worried about that. If yours is ten days, I think it should be fine for implantation in most cases. But let us know how the agnus castus work for you! I have been thinking of trying it myself, as it does not feel right when af arrives at 9 dpo. The last three cycles I have tried the B50 complex and acupuncture, and this las cycle my lp was back to its former 11 days. So I hope it sticks to that from now on!

ArchiesMamaBird · 05/07/2017 15:38

Thanks Patient, that's helped to put my mind at ease Smile

MissMagpie · 06/07/2017 09:59

Today is day 33. It's day 12 of my luteal phase.
All the cramping and bloating of AF awaiting arrival is going on. Sore boobs are back and feeling heavy. Resisted POAS this morning. Just waiting it out....

Flashinthepan · 06/07/2017 10:34

Thanks patient that is helpful that your specialist didn't seem concerned. We can be referred from October, but my birthday is in September and I'm worried how I will feel if my birthday comes and goes again with no baby. I'd like to go private and have tests now, but DH wants to wait until October.

I will definitely let you know how the Agnus Castus goes, hopefully it will be arriving in the post any day now. I'm keeping my PMA up that it will work!

Thanks for the info Archies. There's quite a few people on another thread I'm on who've had an HSG and only one person found it very painful, everyone else said it was only mildly uncomfortable, so I'm sure you'll be fine. Just take painkillers beforehand!

Hippychic18 · 06/07/2017 17:39

Hi everyone :)
Sorry that af has arrived for you archies and loa
Keeping it all crossed for you magpie
chips i take a Nutri advanced pregnancy vitamin, Nutri advanced zinc and some angel form tablets which were recommended by my acupuncturist. I see a naturopath and she recommends Cytoplan or Nutri advanced as the best brands of vitamins but I think as long as you take a good folic acid that's the most important from what I've read.
archies good luck with your HSg - I've heard it's a little uncomfortable from a few others on here but not unbearable..... remember google is not your friend when ttc ... well in my humble opinion anyway.
Wow the thread has been busy and I haven't been receiving the updates ... which is unusual.
Anyway onwards and upwards ladies ... we're due some more bfps soon ....
I can feel it in the air
Xxx

ArchiesMamaBird · 10/07/2017 14:18

Happy Monday Ladies 😊

Magpie I have everything crossed for you!

I've just got back from my HSG and it wasn't half as bad as I thought it was going to be! Thank you all for putting my mind at rest. He said my right tube is absolutely fine, but my left tube looked like it was blocked. But he was having some difficulties (the dye kept leaking out and he couldn't get the cannula up job enough) so he said it might not be blocked, it could just be that he couldn't push enough dye through. And he said even if it is blocked, you can still get pregnant with one tube.

So part of me is glad that there's a possible diagnosis as it explains why it's taking so long, part of my is a bit gutted that our chances have been halved and I only stand a chance at conceiving on the months that my right ovary releases an egg. And part of me is wondering how the hell we managed to conceive DS with no problems at all!

OP posts:
CakesALot · 11/07/2017 12:57

Sounds like a confusing day @ArchiesMamaBird! Glad it wasn't painful or anything though. Will you get a chance to find out if it's definitely blocked or not? Seems a bit frustrating not to get a straight response??

So af arrived last night. 2 days early. Hmm. Despite me being chilled on the TTC front this month, other things in life have been a bit stressful so maybe I need to work on that! I'm rejoining slimming world too. My usually healthy habits have slipped dramatically so I've decided to take control! Onwards and upwards!!
