So in the absence of our lovely founder Hippy, I've set up thread #6 to help us keep up the motivation and PMA.

Congratulations to all our grads, the rest of us may be slacking behind but we'll be there soon!

Good morning all,

Thank you for your lovely messages. I am back on PMA form today!
3 things I'm grateful for today:

  1. AF has come at the perfect time to finish before my holiday on Sunday (booked a last min deal last night which cheered me up)
  2. It's also my birthday Sunday
  3. Other than ttc pressure I genuinely LOVE my life

Welcome @willow... you're more than welcome to join :) I was in exactly the same situation a crazy long cycle but 3 bfns. I knew I wasn't prg I had no synptoms but when af finally comes it's like the reality hits you that you are 100% not pg. At least it's behind us now and we can look forward to the month ahead. Never lose hope, never give up, focus on that this will happen for you.

The positive I am taking from my crazy long cycle is that it is bloody lovely not knowing when fw/ov/af is estimated. So from now on I will be going full natural approach and not tracking anything!
xxxx

Patient Yes I'm going to look on the bright side that my LP is back to normal now so that's one less thing to stress about Smile. And thanks Hippy, but I'm pretty sure her arrival is imminent!

Chips Your DH sounds just like mine. Keeps saying "we conceived DS without trying, just relax and it will happen again" Grin

chips sorry to hear about your BFN’s, I really hate those snowy white back drops that’s why I’ve stopped testing, I can’t handle them. It could well be the antibiotics or it could well be an elusive bfp. Hang on in there and try to relax, I know this is easier said than done, but stressing out really doesn’t help, says me, who has lost the plot on more than one occasion on this ttc journey!

Willow welcome to our PMA thread – we’re not always positive, we do have a good old grip especially on CD1 but overall our motto is – every month is one month closer to our BFP. AF turned up for me this morning too, so now you, loa and I are all cycle buddies which is cool. I’m 38 too and ttc#1 so I know how you feel about the time thing. I’m on cycle 6 or 7, but do you know what? I don’t think counting cycles helps so I’ve stopped doing that… in my humble opinion it takes a good 3-4 months to prep your body (taking supplements and working out your cycle timings etc), so try not to worry too much, again I know this is easier said than done! I’ve been on mumsnet about 6 months now and read loads of stories and I think it generally does take a lot of people a lot longer to conceive than we all initially thought, it’s just that in real life people don’t tend to talk about how long it took them. I decided to start trying last September but wasn’t using opks at the start, so I think I was getting my timings wrong and I’ve missed a few cycles as my dp works loads, so I feel like I’ve been ttc forever.

loa hey glad your PMA is on the rise chic and at least you can have a few drinks for your birthday weekend. Where are you going on holiday? I think I’ll join you on the natural approach bus, I definitely prefer the chilled out route Vs the do this and do that rules, meh, sod that!

Archies I will keep it all crossed for you anyway chic… but completely get why your bracing yourself.

I’ve got my blood tests again this afternoon but I don’t think I’ll be able to get my results back until I’m back which is a bit annoying but oh well.

xxx

Chipsahoy · 02/06/2017 11:50

You're right, I don't want to look at another BFN, so I'm going to relax. Symptom spotting is a killer, so I'm just going to carry on as normal. If af isn't here a week after sue date, I'll test again.

One worry, is that I take some natural pills to keep away utis. I stopped taking them two weeks ago as you can't take them while implantation occurs as it could disrupt it. I then got a uti, which I've just finished antibiotics for. I'm keen to get back to the pills to keep another away, but I'm afraid to just incase I am in early stages of pregnancy.

Could you get your blood results over the phone?

Chipsahoy · 02/06/2017 12:04

Hi willow. Sorry I missed your message.
Sorry af got you Flowers

Hippychic18 · 02/06/2017 12:31

chips I would speak to your doctor about the antibiotics and gauge their opinion as I'm not really sure what to suggest. I usually opt for natural remedies.

I'm not sure if they'll give me the results over the phone and to be honest I think I'd rather wait till I get back. I really this holiday as ttc has been a tough old journey for me so far - I just need to forget about it (as much as I can) for a while :))

Xxx

Hippychic18 · 02/06/2017 12:32

*need this holiday ...
Sorry poor typing skills today 😂

Willow611 · 02/06/2017 14:54

Thank you everyone! It's so nice to talk to people who really, genuinely know what you're going through. I do find it hard to share this stuff irl even with people I'm normally close with, it's only those who are going through it/been through it that really understand the craziness and depth of emotions involved.

loa I'm sorry you've had such a hard time, the long cycles are AWFUL, and symptom spotting is such a killer I agree but impossible to avoid. For me this time it was having had cramps going on for days with no bleeding, not my normal pattern at all and had me convinced. My hubby is really keen on testing early, but I never believe the tests and they just add to the stress.

Hippy I'm sorry you weren't lucky this time either, I do really like your relaxed approach, not too much counting and timing etc, I think it is the best way to make sure the stress of TTC doesn't stop you enjoying the rest of life. So my three PMA thoughts will be - (1) have a big Uni reunion coming up, and I'll be able to have a Big Night Out with a glass of champagne or several, (2) I can get my highlights done and cover up some of my million greys (3) like you loa other than TTC the rest of my life is very lovely and I have tonnes of blessings to count.

FX for others waiting, and I hope you can get your blood results soon Hippy, have an awesome hols in the meantime.

MissMagpie · 02/06/2017 15:19

Hi ladies. And welcome newbies. Nice to have you in board.

I am CD 35 and 15 dpo. Have not tested. I have had a bit of cramping and have really heavy boobs. Too scared to test after last month's early miscarriage. And if I'm not pregnant then what is going on?!

Hippychic18 · 02/06/2017 15:47

Thanks willow I have many blessings to count too but ttc is very overwhelming and your in the right place for support love and understanding:))

magpie lightening rarely strikes twice ... I think your upduffed:)) good luck xxxx

Chipsahoy · 02/06/2017 16:02

That sounds so promising magpie. Maybe save testing until you are week late if you are nervous, or do it with a friend or your partner? I know it's scary after a miscarriage.

I'm similar, in that period is late and boobs are very sore. I've had two BFNs though, so in sure I'm out. Putting down late af to antibiotics this month.

It's actually cycle 11 Hippy - last time I conceived on cycle 12! Talk about being in this for the long haul!

I am now clinging on to this bean for dear life - I don't want it getting away from me. Everyone I think I feel something down there I am rushing to check my knickers. It's driving me mad!

ArchiesMamaBird · 03/06/2017 08:37

Oh Magpie, thats totally understandable. But this little bean will be a sticky one, you've waited long enough 😊💕

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer after Magpie's fabulous news, but AF got me this morning. So now I'm onto cycle 12 🙈

So if everyone wants to give me your stats, I'll do a new list this afternoon? As we have a few newbies now, we can keep tabs on who's next to test 😊
