Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

I agree Basset - I've actually told quite a few people now and feel so much better for it. Hubby has done the same and think it's done him some good too.

Lisa - wow! do you think he just didn't know what to say?!

sk1pper · 09/05/2017 18:10

Kath - they've sorted us now, we're on the top deck with a window seat too which means we wont have any strangers next to us as its a 2-3-2 set up. So happy! They keep emphasising this free cake I'm getting, I just replied saying "And regarding the cake...I love free cake! Nom nom!" I feel like they want me to acknowledge it so I did.

Quiet - fingers crossed you're the first BFP of the thread Quiet!

Jam - how are you feeling now its later in the day? Assume all the pain has passed etc? Ah sorry, yeah I forgot Google will just reemphasise how you're bound to get pregnant after this procedure. Even my consultant was convinced I would be pregnant after it, which made my world come crashing down when I wasn't. However, as you've only got a morphology issue, this may be all you need to give those spermies a fighting chance. I really hope this is all you need, I'm literally waiting with baited breath.

Lisa - some people sicken me...

Welcome Jeds, basset, rainbow and anyone else I've missed.

Pyjamas81 · 09/05/2017 18:24

Can't believe the driving test comment!! Unbelievable.

And yay yay yay skipper! So glad they sorted your seats 😁😁

Hope you're still feeling ok jam

Hello to all newbies! You've come to the right place 😊

Just did another opk and it's still positive (first positive was yesterday. What does that mean?!We're going to try and HS tonight, but we're so so knackered! If we do tonight we definitely won't tomorrow.

Londonjam · 09/05/2017 18:32

Welcome Jeds sorry about your miscarriage. You are in good company here

Thanks to those asking - I'm doing fine, had some lower back ache on and off and I think I'm still a bit sore from the speculum but basically fine. Not sure if all the dye has come out yet. Need to do an OPK when I get home as none in my handbag 👜

Glad they sorted your seats skipper I'm surprised your consultant got your hopes up too. I can see how a HSG could help if you had a blockage but mine looked totally clear so I doubt it will make any difference. How's the clomid going?

LoveRainbow02 · 09/05/2017 18:42

Glad your hsg went well jam! Wish you all the luck.

Lisa I would have kicked him out the car for sure lol.

Still no af for me, currently puts me at 2 weeks late. Get my blood results tomorrow so fx!

KerryLeanne84 · 09/05/2017 18:55

Glad you managed to get your flight sorted Skipper!

That driving test comment is literally unbelievable 😵

Got kinda baby bombed today by a couple whose wedding I went to at the end of July. They have just had a baby girl (count them) 9 months later... how is it SO easy for some people?

sk1pper · 09/05/2017 19:30

Jam - glad you're okay hon. Yeah Clomid is done for this cycle, just waiting for my scan Friday now. And ovulation should be around Fri/Sat too.

sk1pper · 09/05/2017 19:32

Pyjamas - I've had two days of positives a couple of times, I don't know why it happens. It means you've got a longer window to get some well timed sex in...well that's how I see it anyway 😬.

Kathrino · 09/05/2017 19:49

Gosh pyjamas, two days of positive OPKs sounds exhausting...

Sk1pper, such great news about the flight and sounds like the perfect seats for you and DH to enjoy your cake in!

Kerry, It's unbelievable isn't it? I can't imagine what it's like to conceive that easily although I know plenty of people who have (including someone at work who confessed to me today that she's unexpectedly pregnant having only come back from mat leave 2 months ago...)

FX for some news from your blood test Rainbow.

Glad you're feeling okay tonight Jam. Maybe that positive OPK will wait a day or two to give you a chance to recover?

KerryLeanne84 · 09/05/2017 20:04

Oh good lord Kath! I thought breastfeeding was a natural contraceptive?! 😔 I know it's not their fault but I hope people realise how lucky they are

Londonjam · 09/05/2017 20:24

Ah exciting skipper. Any other symptoms or side effects?

Kath that would be ideal! It's day 12 and I don't usually ovulate until day 15-16 so I should have some recovery time

OP posts:
AlexiaB · 09/05/2017 20:33

Lisa that comment is hideous Shock How clueless can some people be? I would have had to say something.

skipper glad your arm is doing better than you expected. Seems like Clomid wasn't too bad (apart from the crazy death thought lol).

Jam glad your tubes are all clear and that overall the procedure wasn't too awful. Get back on the stag wagon asap Wink

pyjamas two days of +ve opk shows you're having a nice, long surge. Hope you can manage another GOS. It's only functional sex around here too!

Flash sorry the spotting has continued. So frustrating! Next time I'd ask for Clomid, for hormonal reasons and the chance to O from both ovaries / your remaining side.

Rainbow sorry af has gone awol. Hope the blood tests can give you some answers. You could have a cyst? Flowers

Kath I'm so sorry it was an unexpected and negative outcome to your situation. Hugs! Hope therapy can help you work through the emotions. Totally get being "done" with talking about ttc too. Sorry about the baby bomb too.

Hi Kerry, so sorry about the baby bomb Flowers It's so easy for some it's ridiculous! My mum knows I'm jealous she had it all so easy. She actually asked me what a luteal phase was Hmm I was a bit like, seriously Mum? (she's a midwife!) She had 5 pregnancies in 4 years resulting in 3 healthy children (2 boys & me). Ok, she had two mcs around 10 and 13 weeks back to back but she's never even been slightly bothered by them! I guess it's because she already had my brother who was a tiny baby? There's only 2 years & 2 months between my older brother and I (plus 2 miscarriages) so she was basically pregnant the whole time because I was born 5 days late. My younger bro came exactly 17 months later and she was breastfeeding 4/5 times she conceived. She immediately got the coil fitted because "mentally and physically she couldn't risk having any more at that point". It actually winds me up when I think about it!

AlexiaB · 09/05/2017 20:35

Auto correct fail... Shag* wagon lol

Knew I'd forgot something, yay for getting amazing seats and free cake Skipper!

AlexiaB · 09/05/2017 20:47

Please don't think I'm rude if I've missed you out, I've just had such a busy day I'm only checking in now and there's been so much chat I'm struggling!

CD4 here and AF has left the building woop Jam my new ticket is June 2nd please. The EDD would be my birthday in Feb!

Hi Inspector, hope you O very soon! I know how frustrating it is waiting around. Hang in there Flowers

Good luck to all those in the tww! Really hoping to see some long overdue BFPs on here.

Welcome Jeds and all other newbies. Nice to see so many new people 👋

AlexiaB · 09/05/2017 20:52

Basset don't waste £40 on an unreliable at home sperm kit (apologies if it's not you who said this) when you can get a professionally sperm analysis done at Create Fertility for £90-95. Many of us have used them on this thread, have a google.

sk1pper · 09/05/2017 21:08

Jam - no, not really but now I think about it, the flight seating problem upset me way more than I expected. But unsure if it was hormone related or not.

Alexia - so glad you're back to your chirpy self. Smile I think you get a wall of hormones before AF just like me, it's horrendous. Normally CD4-6 is when I feel happiest in my cycle, even if I'm still bleeding. I think it's the idea of a fresh new start/cycle. Woooo!

bassetmum · 09/05/2017 21:10

Sorry im struggling to keep up with this thread but glad everything is okay with your hsg jam.

Just to put everyones mind at ease. My OH spent 8.99 on it. Hes already said he knows its not accurate but I think he thinks it gives him sone power over what is (isn't??) happening. If that makes sense.

Ive had two days of positive opks before pjs.

Glad you got your flights sorted sk1pper.

Londonjam · 09/05/2017 21:33

It's sweet your OH is getting involved and finding out what he can do basset

Glad you're feeling better alexia you bounce back very well 😊 it's a real asset

Feeling less and less like HS tonight. OPK still not positive so might give it until tomorrow.

AlexiaB · 09/05/2017 21:35

Thanks skip. Yes that's so true! After AF, and if FW is going well, I'm hopeful again. Then when I know my temps aren't good it hits me (I'd rather that than be surprised by blood though. And omg that reminds me everyone in the world go and buy a Mooncup! I hardly ever have to deal with af anymore - maybe twice a day, if that! Seriously life changing!) and I get so down and upset that I have to start over again no matter how hard I tried. Since I'm such a chatterbox when I'm down I'll endlessly write depressing shit that no one needs to hear so that's why I tend to stay away. I made an amazing ttc friend on FF who lives in Oz and she listens to all my crap on the phone instead 😂

Ok Basset idk where I got £40 from? Lol. It's cute he wants to know! Use Create if the results are worrying.

Pugmummy87 · 09/05/2017 22:18

Blimey, you have all been chatting away!

Glad the HSG is over and done with for you now london and that it wasn't too painful. Fx for you. Our consultant said we could hs straight away.

lisa I think I would have chucked him out the car. That is just a downright stupid thing to say.

Seems to be the day for baby bombs. Agree that some people will do get pregnant very easily. Dh is currently playing Minecraft on the computer and he's just made some cows have babies by pressing a button. My reaction was to scoff and comment if only it was that fucking easy lol.

harriet Yes, it is me who is waiting to hear about the secondment. Should know by the end of the week.

alexia I am another fan of mooncups! I've had mine since the summer. They are great especially when I'm at work, no worries about leaks.

Cd3 today and it's the heaviest day. This always happens. You'd think cd1-2 would be the heaviest. Had mild panic thinking have I taken Clomid too early, is today cd1 but there is no way you could class the last 2 days as just spotting, despite a light flow. Another weird thing my body does!

Pyjamas81 · 09/05/2017 22:53

Another huge fan of mooncups here! I've used them for ages - it's great not having to deal with AF other than once in the morning and before I go to bed 👍🏼

Glad you're feeling a bit perkier alexia - I get the same hormonal mood drop and can't even bring myself to communicate.

Glad I'm not the only one who has two positive opks on occasion! We got a GOS in tonight and we are DONE. Thank goodness!! That was three days in a row - exhausted and so happy we can just relax now!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 09/05/2017 23:06

Thank you for all the comments agreeing that the driving test comment was inappropriate - I really don't think he could see why what he'd said was wrong (yes, I did tell him that it wasn't ok!). To be honest I think he just didn't get it at all; I suspect he thought I was majorly overreacting. He's not normally Captain Empathy, but that was a bit of a low even for him! I think he probably did feel bad because he sent a text later saying that I could talk to him if I needed to, which I suppose was well meant - but not bloody likely to happen!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 09/05/2017 23:10

While I'm ranting, he also said that it didn't really matter if it turned out I couldn't have children (which, incidentally, I hadn't said I thought!) because we could always adopt... I told him that he only said that because he knows nothing about adoption.

SmittenPears · 10/05/2017 01:54

Lisa, wow, the driving test really is a new one.... and the comment about adoption sends it over the edge! omg people don't know what they're saying. I'm so glad this thread exists....

QuietTime · 10/05/2017 05:23

Ugh, temp dip and cramps this morning, so guess AF is approaching. Had slight hopes as had light spotting c5 or 6dpo (bit early but never get mid-cycle issues)...guess the mythical implantation bleed remains mythical Hmm
