Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Pyjamas, sounds like the counselling is giving you some great insight and it seems like it's already having massive benefits for you guys. We've come to a similar conclusion re houses at the moment (particularly as I can't imagine at the current rate that we'll end up with 2 children as we planned!)

Rabiya, good luck for your blood tests tomorrow.

Hep, you and DH are so inspirational!

Sk1pper, hope the nausea is better today.

AF arrived yesterday afternoon so I'm officially into cycle 18 now. We've got a wedding and a few days holiday this month so at least I can relax and enjoy those.

Londonjam · 21/05/2017 11:00

Sorry kath xx hope you're alright 💐

Sorry about AF kath - hope you're ok xxx

And boooo to PMS jam - but I'm admiring your mindset on it.

I usually have PMS by now (short fuse etc) but I think the distractions of counselling, house viewings , progress on IVF stuff and upcoming spa break on Weds have been a great distraction. As jam says, what will be will be. And it's a big weight off my mind that any fighting while AF is here is completely off the cards as I won't be here! I know it's not a long term solution as I can't go away every month, but I just can't cope with yet another shit month.

Londonjam · 21/05/2017 11:21

To be honest pyjamas I don't feel sad or hopeful about PMS. Grads tend not to feel any different when they get their BFP - most of them seem to have expected AF. It's still crazy to me there isn't a clear difference between early pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms Hmm

Happy Sunday to you all!
It's lovely to see that everything is moving in the right direction for lots of you, whether it be blood tests, upcoming ivf etc. It's inspiring to hear about you and OH getting fit Hep. I wish my DH could be inspired to get fitter. I have no issue with his size generally (at 14 stone he's not exactly massive) but whilst ttc things like this are bothering me. And the fact that he smokes too. Both sets of parents smoked back in the day and managed to conceive 3 children on both sides so it is possible, but 14 months in it does bother me a little.
Rabiya since coming off the pill my cycles have been 42 days at the most but back in November I had a one off cycle of 61 days where I don't think I ovulated. I spent a fortune on tests and it was quite an emotional time for me thinking I was or wasn't pregnant for quite a long time. Fair to say I was glad to see AF in the end. Good luck to you! Just be prepared for both scenarios, as I'm not sure I was.
Well after a lovely 32 day cycle last month, I didn't ovulate until CD25 this month, so my 32 day cycle seems to have been a one off too. Confused
Pyjamas can I just say you are so inspiring too. Tackling yours and OH's issues head on. We all have our own underlying issues and it takes a lot of courage to open up and show vulnerability. Things definitely seem to be moving in the right direction for you guys Smile x

Pyjamas81 · 21/05/2017 11:32

Yeah I know what you mean jam - I'm feeling pretty indifferent about it all as well. The slightest twinge means nothing to me anymore and I think I don't feel them now because I'm not looking for them so therefore my mind isn't creating them if that makes any sense.

Ah thanks tommy - it is very hard and it always feel like we're touching on the surface of what really hurts us and nerves do feel slightly exposed when we touch on certain subjects (my dad for example), but I'm sure more will be revealed and dealt with as we relax into it and begin to trust the counsellor, ourselves and each other more.

sk1pper · 21/05/2017 11:58

Sorry Kath - you're so cool about it though, love that xx

Jam - exactly what you said. There's no way to discern the truth from PMS so why worry about it. Just got to wait until the red lady flows, or doesn't.

otters2017 · 21/05/2017 12:03

sk1pper thanks for the info. The ic is still negative but flashing smiley on clear blue. How are you feeling ? Still nauseated?

rabiya good luck with your blood test tomorrow

pyjamas DH's back is still sore. Bit better but he can hardly move! Not sure how to get a GOS in! Glad your counseling went well. Sounds really helpful. I'd wait for the stretch house if possible. Exciting looking at houses!

hepkestrel well done on the fitness and your OH too. When are you testing ?

Kathrino · 21/05/2017 12:20

Thanks lovelies! I'm pretty much fine, have no expectations these days and used it as an excuse to indulge in an online shopping spree this morning ;)

sk1pper · 21/05/2017 13:22

Otters - that's fine, when you get a static smiley the IC should be positive or near enough positive. No nausea today, OH is convinced I'm pregnant but he doesn't understand cycles and I told him it wouldn't have even implanted yet. He even started looking at baby seats for the car. Looking his optimism but I've escaped to the garden before I get wrapped up in his unusual hysteria.

Rabiya · 21/05/2017 17:46

Tommygirl10-I never had bc pill before...i have kept record of my periods from last 4 months that is 31,33,34,29...so it means my cycle ranges from 28-35...Stress or maybe i din't ovulate at all this month...letz c...i just hope my af should come naturally!!!!...

KerryLeanne84 · 21/05/2017 19:51

Sk1pper oh that is lovely and heartbreaking all at once. Bless him 💗

Kath sorry AF has arrived but you sound like you're in a really good place

Lisa thinking of you, hope you are doing okay

My OH is still super sick with the proper flu, but we got in another GOS today - day 17. Bless him he is the best.

otters2017 · 21/05/2017 22:22

Went on a shopping spree today for supplements. Can I check what everyone else is taking? I've spent so much time on google and so much money on supplements. Have decided to up the game and bought pregnacare original, vitamin d, coq10, omega 3 and raspberry leaf tea. Does anyone else take raspberry leaf tea? I can't remember who suggested it now and have been reading conflicting advice online.

HepKestrel · 21/05/2017 22:46

otters I normally try to wait until the Friday after AF is due..... Just so I know whether I can drink enough. ( I sometimes crumble before this though!.) I honestly have low hopes this month, but I'm ok with that. Roll on next FW!

otters2017 · 21/05/2017 22:58

Omg got a faint positive on the ic opks. The test line is very faint but it's been paper white up till now. I'm getting a very heavy dragging feeling on my left side and I'm wondering if I'm about to ovulate. sk1pper what you've said made perfect sense so really hope I'll get a static smiley and see a positive on the ic opk tomorrow. Fingers crossed! We've managed a GOS today despite DH's bad back and will have another go tomorrow.

otters2017 · 22/05/2017 06:48

The ic opk was negative again this morning and I'm still getting a flashing smiley on the cb. Am feeling confused now! Hmmm ...

Kathrino · 22/05/2017 07:31

Otters, an OPK isn't positive until the second line is darker than the control line so it sounds like you're on the way there although may be a few days. I think they recommend testing later in the day than FMU too for reasons that I can't quite remember - I've certainly never got a positive in the morning but only ever get them in the afternoon/evening. I'd definitely keep trying and I'm sure it will turn positive in a couple of days.

Your poor DH Kerry, I hope he feels better soon!

Pyjamas81 · 22/05/2017 07:31

ic opks don't generally tend to work well in the morning otter (they don't for me anyway) - best to wait until later this afternoon.

On supplements - I take flaxseed oil, pregnacare conception and ubiquinol.

Just did my HIIT session and feel full of beans at 13(ish)dpo and feel even better that today is really my Thursday! Two day week whoop whoop! 😁

sk1pper · 22/05/2017 07:36

So both ovaries will gear up to ovulate and then one will become fully dominant. Your left ovary is just getting ready which would explain why you are starting to pick up some of the LH surge. I know it's hard but try not to freak out over the tests, if you get too stressed you could confuse your body further.

I always drink Raspberry Leaf tea, it thickens the lining of the womb (apparently). I only drink it in between AF and ovulation because it can induce early periods/pregnancy. What conflicting advice have you been reading online? If it's the hibiscus thing, it's complete BS.

otters2017 · 22/05/2017 07:54

Thank you for the sage advice. Will test again later and try not to worry about it.
I'm on clomid so there some articles that said not to take raspberry leaf tea with clomid as they have the opposite effect. Also that rlt should be taken from af until ovulation but others say it's safe to take throughout.

sk1pper · 22/05/2017 08:28

Clomid thins the womb lining so if anything you should be drinking more right now. There is so much conflicting advice everywhere though...

Jeds55 · 22/05/2017 08:42

Good morning all. Hope all had nice weekends and raring to go into week ahead!! Never feel raring on a Monday
Sorry that af came Kath sounds like you're dealing with it in a positive way tho
Good luck for results today Rabiya
Hope it is ovulation Otters I rarely saw a blaring positive on the cheap tests but didn't really use them that often. Despite saying I wouldn't I tested for ov end of last week but too busy on weekend so haven't. Had flashy face on cb this morning tho...managed to GOS twice so far... my boyf often gets bad back and we've had some hilarious GOS with him stuck in odd positions!
Glad you managed GOS Kerry
Pyjamas 2 day week sounds lush, even if you are expecting af to arrive. Therapy sounds positive too
JamWhen I had my bfp I really thought af was coming- only thing I had different was sore boobs which never get any time of month and haven't had since. Nausea didn't start until after bfp.
Well done on fitness Hep I have had busy but lazy weekend fitness wise apart from bit of hungover gardening yest
Right better start working

sk1pper · 22/05/2017 08:47

Otters - just realised I can be your guinea pig regarding the raspberry leaf tea. I took Clomid this cycle and was drinking 2-3 cups daily. I will call them tomorrow to confirm ovulation with my blood test results.

Jeds55 · 22/05/2017 08:47

Otters I just take Evening primrose oil, second month and a conception vitamin (pregna care I think). Pretry forgetful at taking tabs tho. Last doc I saw just said to take folic acid. Was low in vitamin D a year or so ago so make sure I take that too if haven't taken pregnacare.

Londonjam · 22/05/2017 09:51

Hope your OH is feeling better kerry, that is some dedication from him!

Bless your OH skipper I hope his optimism pays off

otters up until recently I was taking just Boots conception tablets. This month I'm trying Pregnacare, coq10 and quarter of an aspirin daily. I think I read a study in the papers on aspirin but to be honest I'm not convinced it'll make any difference. I tend to get my positive OPK in the afternoon or evening too, so keep testing and fx

Am 11 DPO today and feeling less zen than yesterday. So desperate to be pregnant today :(
