Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Jeds55 · 19/05/2017 09:52

Glad review went well Kath and sorry yours was frustrating Jam
Hope you managed GOS Kerry, maybe if you do all the, ahem, work until the last minute?! Bad timing being ill during fw
Started fw this morning with GOS as both wfh, think it's too early to be counted tho!

Jeds55 · 19/05/2017 09:55

Hey everyone, just checking in after a busy week at work. Tried to post yesterday but had the same probs with the mobile site.

Firstly, congrats Missy! Just goes to show you don't need to stress about not having sex every day through FW.

Lisa, very sorry you're struggling and really hope you get good news when you test tomorrow. It must be very hard to see BFPs not progress and incredibly frustrating. Sounds like you have a very supportive DH so do lean on him as much as you can..

Good see to see other musicians on here! I am a woodwind person, and unfortunately not playing in any orchestras as I can't find anywhere that fits with my work/commute schedule. Would love to, though, I really enjoyed playing in various ensembles when younger (when the music director wasn't losing his shit at us Grin)

Glad you have got official promise of the promotion pathway Jam. Sounds like you've been very successful over the last year with your awards success so I can understand you being peeved it hasn't been quicker coming.

Hope you're feeling less hormonal today and I can definitely imagine how you must feel about taking the Clomid. I will be reading with interest how you and Sk1pper get on and might discuss with DP doing the same next cycle.

Flash I did read a bit of that scan post but clicked out of it pretty quickly. Don't know if it turned out to be a troll or not, but really hope it was. No baby deserves a mother that stupid.

Sk1pper I hope all the nausea and other symptoms don't drive you too potty, and don't spoil your weekend. I have everything crossed for Clomid working its magic for you this cycle.

Nothing new to report here, as always! Boobs feel a bit tender and have had some cramps so hoping that AF will arrive early next week and I won't have a 40+ day cycle after all, despite (seemingly) not ovulating.

At least it's Friday, hey? Hope you all have good weekend plans!

Flashinthepan · 19/05/2017 13:16

Ooooo Inspector I am a woodwind person too! But like you have not really embraced it as I've got older due to other commitments. I'd like to get back to it though.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 19/05/2017 13:24

Thanks so much for all the lovely messages - your support really does help.

Missy please don't feel guilty - your happy news doesn't take anything from anyone else! - and also please don't let me worry you. I'm sorry if I have. I'm worried because of some quite specific circumstances and recent experiences - there's no reason at all that you should have to share my panic! Obviously no one knows what will happen to either of us, but at a few days after AF due and with a nice strong line I don't see any reason for you not to be happy and enjoying your good news!

Thanks Harriet - I know, of course, that this is a situation that you're all too familiar with. I'll see how this one turns out, but if I'm right (I told DH that I knew I was right because I had predicted it each time. He told me that always predicting the worst outcome and it sometimes happening isn't actually a psychic ability...!) then I'll definitely be getting some more testing done (already had a thyroid check). My GP said she'd refer me if it happened a third time (I'm lucky there: I have heard of people being told that losses before six weeks don't 'count'), but depending on waiting times can easily imagine deciding to go private. Will drop you a PM once I'm certain of the outcome of this one if that's ok?

Flashinthepan · 19/05/2017 13:29

Jam that article is very interesting!

I would like to have an HSG to check my remaining tube, but DH thinks we should wait until we are referred for investigations in 4-5 months time.

I think he's reluctant to intervene before giving it the proper amount of time, but I feel like our fertility history puts us in a different position than if we had been trying for 6 months with nothing happening.

Kathrino · 19/05/2017 15:51

Huge congrats Missy, stories like yours give me such hope and I'm so happy for you. Wishing you all the best for the next 9 months :)

Lisa, thinking of you and hoping for the best Flowers

Very interesting article Jam and the claim that 40% of people who are having IVF wouldn't need it is pretty staggering! So hoping it does the trick for you.

I was working until 2am last night and was in the office before 8am this morning. DH is away all weekend and I am going to spend the vast majority of it sleeping.

Londonjam · 19/05/2017 16:39

Good to see you penguin! Woodwind hey? We are a creative bunch. I strongly recommend joining an ensemble if you can. I'm really enjoying being back in the musician fold after a bit of a break. It sounds like clomid would be worth a try for you - did your consultant mention it?

flash in the nicest possible way, it's not his choice. If you want to check your fallopian tube then go ahead. Having one its all the more important it is nice and clear.

it's quite a claim isn't it kath. If I wasn't on this thread I would convince myself I was pregnant and start seeing signs everywhere again. Those hours sound exhausting! Glad you've got some time to catch up on rest this weekend

The sun seems to have come out in time for Friday evening :D

sk1pper · 19/05/2017 17:40

Congratulations Missy - what a lovely surprise! It's always heartening to hear that people get it on mis-timed sex but I'm not sure it's enough to sate my paranoia.

sk1pper · 19/05/2017 17:41

What's everyone's plans for the weekend?

otters2017 · 19/05/2017 18:22

Congratulations missy!! 🎉🎉🎉 hope everything goes smoothly for you. Can I ask which cycle this is for you and what you've tried? Sorry I'm new to this thread and don't know everyone's story. Thanks.

Thanks for the article jam I've not had a hsg and am now wondering if I should ask for one or get one done privately. I'll add it to my long list of questions for my appointment next week

Thinking of you lisa Flowers it's really tough. Hope you get answers if this one doesn't stick.

I'm out tonight with friends and tomorrow night as well. Also some GOS planned as hoping I'm going to ovulate soon as getting flashing smileys on my CBFM. Hope it will be sunny at the weekend!

sk1pper · 19/05/2017 18:29

Ugh fuck, more nausea and I've got friends coming over for dinner.

harrietm87 · 19/05/2017 18:29

Argh kath tell me about it - my hours have been similar this week - its grim!

On the plus side I'm wondering whether I might be ovulating for the first time since mc. I had my MVA 3 weeks ago on Monday (so nearly 4 weeks) and have had EWCM for like the last 7 days. Bit of right sided cramps type pains today. Would be so good if yes as I'm paranoid about cycles not going to back to normal, but also haven't wanted to opk as just need a break from all that!

Pyjamas81 · 19/05/2017 18:36

I step away from the thread for a bit and miss so so much!

Thinking of you Lisa - I'm really rooting for you xx

Congrats missy!!

Sorry you've been feeling shit skipper - really hope the Clomid is the boost you need though.

How is knicker watch going kath?

Cd24 over here and about 10dpo (if I ovulated day after positive opk) - as usual, no symptoms whatsoever. I had a sneaky beer (just one) today and I don't even care. Have our second counselling session tomorrow and have checking into the happy hospital (spa) for three nights on Weds (when AF is due) to look forward to 😁😁 Oh and we're going to look at a couple of houses just out of curiosity tomorrow as well!

Kathrino · 19/05/2017 19:27

Haha, I just read your post pyjamas and almost immediately started getting cramps! Hope the counselling goes well tomorrow.

Harriet, sorry you've had such a tough week too. Hope you're going to get some downtime this weekend. FX for ovulation too.

So sorry about the nausea sk1pper, hope it passes soon. There's nothing worse.

Happy weekend all!

SmittenPears · 19/05/2017 20:11

Congratulations Missy!! 📣

Keeping you in my thoughts, Lisa.

Have a restorative time at the happy hospital, pyjamas. Well planned. :)

Tonks87 · 19/05/2017 20:59

Just popping on to say a huge congratulations to Missy!

And I hope it's good news Lisa when you test again.

Good luck to any upcoming testers, I'm rooting for you all.

KerryLeanne84 · 19/05/2017 21:17

I was having the same problems with commenting - glad it wasn't just me that Mumsnet hates!

Kath NOTHING worse than when one person wants to order a takeaway and the other doesn't! I can't believe you were working till 2am - good lord! Is your job worth it (sorry if that sounds judgemental, genuinely interested as it would have to be a job I lot to do that!).

Lisa so many hugs and positive thoughts. I'm so sorry and as everyone has said, we're all rooting for you! Is there any medical support you can get now that could help the pregnancy continue?

Thanks everyone for the good advice and OH being sick advice! We did have a GOS tonight and will try to get another one in on Sunday to cover the time period I normally ov (15-17) 🍆

KerryLeanne84 · 19/05/2017 21:27

Congratulations also Missy so pleased! Interesting that it was apparently quite a few days before you OVd too, I guess there were some persistent sperm lurking!

MissyJones80s · 19/05/2017 22:58

Thanks to you all for the lovely messages. I was still in disbelief when I got back from work so did another test and it also came in positive. Like a few of you have said we literally did not have a GOS any time near positive opk so either my fanjo was particularly accommodating this month or those swimmers were pumped up...I read they can live for 5 days so that would work if that was the case I guess. I was so convinced I even went out on sat night and had a few drinks which I'm feeling totally guilty about now of course.
Only thing I've done differently this month is switch off from ttc because I thought we were out anyway...oh I've also been doing no meat May as well, sure that's got nothing to do with it.
Going to take each day as it comes, know things this early can change rapidly so trying to stay grounded about it all. Early days.
Only symptoms I guess are I've felt like AF coming since Friday (hence why I went out for drinkies on Sat) and really sore boobs over past day or so. Mild sore throat but prob hay fever and felt like I was getting a cold last week. So nothing really specific.
Wow okay. I guess I need to shut up now and wish you all the best, will miss the support from you guys that's for sure but will try to check in to see some more BFPs rolling in Grin much love

Rabiya · 20/05/2017 03:04

OK! So i think i din't ovulate coz 15 days no bfp no sign of af...my blood test is for pregnancy test(last hope) and if it is negative i will ask them to do overall checkup I ovulated or not or some other issue going on...well letz c....never experienced such a long cycle...when i searched it for google about late bfp i have read some ladies never got bfp on hpt and some ladies got bfp very late like 3-4 weeks late...i am still 2 weeks late..don't want to get my hopes high but still wondering... 2 days more for blood test...
