Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

GX firmly crossed Nova. I know, I am counting down the days to my 7 week scan 😂

stumblymonkeyagain · 14/07/2017 10:01

Also feeling the pain of scanxiety. I thought TWOT was shit...I hadn't even thought ahead to this part.

Time is going sooooooooo slowly. Was planning an 8 week scan but not sure I can wait that long. Symptoms have dropped off today so that's not helping!

stumblymonkeyagain · 14/07/2017 10:02

Are any viroids on TWOT at the mo?

NovaArt3mis · 14/07/2017 10:06

It went well! I'd so convinced myself it wouldn't that it was such a surprise to see a baby in there Grin

The nerves were unreal, I'd been up since 4am. I should probably start lurking in the background now and say hi on the grads thread. Can't imagine I'll manage to butt out completely though.

Yes, where are the twotting/when are folk due to poas. Elbi, are you testing tomorrow?

justtheonethen · 14/07/2017 12:04

Congrats nova Smile

Elbi · 14/07/2017 12:49

Ah that's great Nova! So pleased for you. I WAS due to poas tomorrow but we now have a very busy weekend lined up (super early mornings + extended family) and now that I've waited anyway I'd almost rather go a couple more days till early next week so it's not fraught in some service station somewhere!! Or in my aunt's downstairs loo....

LG93 · 14/07/2017 13:07

I'm due to poas next Sunday so got just over a week to go, but trying not to focus on it or get my hopes up! Congrats on your successful scan @Nova

Elbi · 14/07/2017 13:08

I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up too but it's tough - I'm now 5ish days overdue.

justtheonethen · 14/07/2017 13:38

Oh elbi how are you waiting????????

Elbi · 14/07/2017 15:01

No frickin idea just...! I also think now the moment's here I'm a bit scared of it in a weird way. There's nothing wrong with finding out in a service station after all, but my parents used to point out the beautiful holiday cottage where they learnt they were going to have me and I picture saying to my kid 'See that Costa on the M40...?' Grin

justtheonethen · 14/07/2017 15:25
Grin
NovaArt3mis · 14/07/2017 15:26

Thanks all

You're a star elbi, i hope your patience is rewarded. I once saw a + pregnancy test in a McDonalds toilet cubicle, so that Costa sounds pretty posh actually. I always wonder what might've happened to that child.

Elbi · 14/07/2017 20:02

I draw the line at Burger King. KFC at a push.

HolyShmoly · 14/07/2017 20:05

I guess I'm in the TWOT now. Sunday week should be 11 dpo (although I'm not 100% sure of this) so that's the earliest I can test. AF will be due on Wednesday 26 and I'd rather take it on a non-working day so I have time to react and get my brain in order.

Squidge123456 · 14/07/2017 21:19

Congrats Nova!

Absolutely wetting myself at the Costa/Maccy D's/KFC POAS chat!

BlueSky1980 · 14/07/2017 22:07

Stumbly, I'm currently TWOTing... AF due next Sunday(ish). I'm impatient at the best of times so not a fan of this!! 😬

BlueSky1980 · 14/07/2017 22:08

P.S Elbi your patience is outstanding!

stumblymonkeyagain · 15/07/2017 09:01

My BFP was in the work loo!

Gx to all on TWOT. Elbi....you are showing an amazing level of discipline. I'd have caved ages ago but fibbed to DP that I hadn't

justtheonethen · 15/07/2017 09:23

I didn't tell DH I was testing. After 3 years of trying the excitement of doing it together had gone and I needed extra time to get my head together after each inevitable bfn.
And it turns out extra time to speak after getting an actual real bfp!

NovaArt3mis · 15/07/2017 09:57

Yep, I tested while DH was at work and told him when he got home. After so long I didn't actually expect it to be positive.

teaandshortbread · 15/07/2017 12:03

Hello Blush I admit have been trying to stop myself from looking at this forum as my head has been so pickled with ttc/ anxiety issues and busy summer hols but this group seems so friendly and supportive and funny. Hope it is ok to jump in?

I'm 27 and ttc #1. I have no idea what point I am at in my cycle now - last period started May 10th and after 55 days I had dark brown spotting on 4th and 5th July but no 'proper' AF (usually it is very heavy and painful for 4 or 5 days). Negative tests that weekend. Past few days I have had EWCM but slightly skeptical that I am ovulating..!! Considering the length of my cycles normally. Anyways we have been dtd all week in any case. I don't want to begin down the route of OPK's and temping to see when I ovulate, my anxiety and OCD could not take it.

Recently MIL made a comment about how she thinks it 'wont be long' until a baby appears and it got me more stressed and feeling guilty. So turning to you ladies for experiences and/or distractions!

one2three4five · 15/07/2017 14:05

Thank you for all of the welcome replies Smile

I have found a positive point about not being pregnant...I just ate a yummy bacon and Brie sandwich. Can't eat that when you're pregnant!

justtheonethen · 15/07/2017 15:42

you can if it's cooked Wink

Welcome tea Smile. Probably worth getting your thyroid and prolactin tested. Long cycles are an indicator that ovulation is not occurring or at least not in a regular manner which can make conception difficult.

teaandshortbread · 15/07/2017 17:51

Thanks for that advice just. It's helpful to know what to ask for.

justtheonethen · 15/07/2017 17:53

Doesn't mean you can't/won't get pregnant quickly but I always think it's good to be fully informed!
