Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo
~~~~~~~~~
ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'
Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!
Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.
Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).
POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)
ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.
JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.
Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen
Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.
Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!
Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.
Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!
Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP
SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP
TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!
Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'
Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!
Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid
Cat - Compulsory
Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples
Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.
Recurrent miscarriage clinic.
Yes if you've had multiple mcs please do insist on support. There is good evidence indicating that regular reassurance scans can help reduce risk of mc.
kwick · 08/09/2017 20:03
Nurse at IVI assured me today they would take previous MCs into account when treating me.
So I should have now completed all tests necessary to be handed over to Spain and apparently donor matching and transfer may go quite fast!!!
The best news is that any blastocysts that are created will be frozen so I will be able to try again and again and again until I use them up/get pregnant/run out of money/have a nervous breakdown
It's a bit of a shame the threads gone quiet....maybe there are too many people like me who read often but don't often post..... Good news about Spain kwick- when are you likely to be going over there?
What a rubbish time choo, I'm sorry. I may well need your advice about my LP shortly. Currently dpo9 and just spotting so waiting to see what lp is this month and I may come calling!
Yes rubber the thread does seem quite quiet these days but I do hope it continues. It, and you lot, have brought me so much comfort (and belly ache laughs which may or may not have led to a small leakage over the years I have been TTC. It is of great joy to see so many fellow jsers now have BFP or even baby born. I will never forget how I was welcomed with open arms despite not being able to fulfil many of the rules.
I am not sure exactly when I will travel - they may synch me to my donors cycle and I need to have donor discussion first, which hopefully happen next week or the week after. Maybe sometime in October. Apparently I only need go for overnight.
I am not telling anyone except MNers and some very close friends (so not telling family or work) as it just puts too much pressure on. It may require a bit if subterfuge but needs must and all that.
Happy Sunday everyone!
Keeping everything crossed for you kwick.
I have to say all the jsers knowledge of cycles and ovulation etc is really incredible and making me feel like such a schoolgirl! You should all club together and write a book on your personal experiences and research Grin.
AF arrived here a couple of days ago so here we go again! Got a doctor's appt next week so hopefully they'll do some tests to see what's going on with me. We've been ttc since Feb, got a bfp in march then MC at 6 weeks. Been ttc ever since but no joy. My skin is really spotty and greasy at the moment and has been for about a year so I'm presuming there's some hormonal imbalance going on. I'm 39 so really stressing that I'm just too old now, which is also obviously not helping. Is there anything specifically you'd advise me to ask my GP to be tested for?
justtheonethen · 10/09/2017 08:42
kwick got it all crossed for you. I think you're pretty amazing you know.
squidge try not to panic, impossible I know. I would ask for these initially:
Day 2-4 FSH, LH and E2
Day 21 (7dpo) progesterone - do it 7dpo not day 21 as they base it on a perfect 28 day cycle. You're allowed to use temping/opk sticks Wink
Sperm analysis for DH. Essential! I was allowed to take a pot and a form for mine as he has the same doctor but he may have to make his own appointment.
They should refer you to a fertility clinic either straight away or after tests. Then you get the tests repeated Hmm and an ultrasound to check for cysts etc. I got a full on pelvic exam too surprise fingering that I wasn't expecting!
Hopefully you will conceive before you get there but good to be doing something. If something is wrong don't worry, most things can be sorted. Let us know how it goes.
I'm off on holiday today Smile. Going to take my tiny bump on holiday and try not to vom up all the ice cream I plan on eating.
Ah just fanks - made me all teary 😢
Enjoy the ice cream! 🍨🍧🍡🍦
squige If you can get your thyroid levels checked - anything above 2.5 is not good (hypothyroidism I think it is called) but unfortunately GPs go off a different range so you will need to insist on this.
Another who thinks you're all pretty amazing with your knowledge. Fingers crossed for your trip to Spain kwik and hope you and tiny bump enjoy your holiday and ice cream just!
Not much is really happening here. I'm currently cd.18 and no sign of ovulating. Have been suspicious that I'm not ovulating at all for a couple of months now so have been temping as a few of you suggested. Thought I'd ovulated on cd.14 so was thrilled, but temp went straight back down the next day so think it's more likely where I woke up late as that seems to make it higher (been off work on leave this week so had a lie in!)
Did have a bit of back ache earlier so hopeful it might change over the next couple of days, but currently a bit despondent. It's daft as I knew the pcos wasn't going to make things easy and I've not been trying nearly as long as all of you guys, but I'm kind of assuming that nothing will happen until they intervene, which gp didn't think would happen until I'd been ttc for 18 months. Everything is a bit on hold as I want to change career but agreed I'd stay put for now form maternity leave purposes, just need things to move along!!
Report
justtheonethen · 10/09/2017 17:36
lg NHS advice is 12 months if you're 35 and under and 6 months if you're 36 and over. Don't wait for 18 months. Fingers crossed you are just a late over but try and take temp at same time, I used to do it and go back to sleep!
Report
LG93 · 10/09/2017 19:34
Thanks just. I think I've probably been more lax with the temping than I should have been. Will set a daily alarm next cycle and make myself wake up and do it.
My gp is a fertility specialist so was surprised she reckoned 18 months as I was expecting 12. I think being quite young in medical terms (24) the NHS I have found are very 'you've got plenty of time' in their attitude to my fertility. I have to keep booking appointments with her and cancelling them as it takes 6 weeks to get an appt, and as I'm going to be consultant led I can't self refer to midwife and didn't want to wait 6 weeks from BFP to see anyone, so I've got an appointment booked for October. If I don't have any joy with ovulating I may go along and have a chat with her. She'd said to go back and get it on record if I wasn't getting periods so they could step in and help at a later date if needed, and in my mind not ovulating is probably worth noting. Can't hurt I suppose!
Kwick do you actually fly to Spain for procedure? Is it cheaper there?
Rubber did af come? I get spotting around 9dpo if I'm pregnant. Just saying...
Squidge I'm really sorry af came. What you get tested for depends on the issue. If you were not getting pregnant I would think they'd look at your hormone levels, test dh sperm and do scans to check tubes and follicles i.e. Physical barriers of conception etc. But as you got pregnant they may think that's not needed. I would suggest starting with GP and go fr there. Blood tests will check your thyroid and liver function. As you're 39 they should start right away as you've been ttc over 6 months.
Just aw - bump! Grin
LG 18 months? I would change GP! Should be 1 year or 6 months if you're over 35. If you want help with charting let me know - I've charted 4 years now and I do interpretation with my doctors and acupuncturist. Yes you're young but pcos etc can make huge difference on your ability to conceive and they should be checking. Yes definitely temp at same time every day or you'll get rocky mountains and it's harder to interpret.
Hope you all have a lovely day!
Do you all have the necessary cats to be on this fred (important question).
Report
kwick · 13/09/2017 08:19
choo so yes I will travel to Spain for the embryo transfer - all the pre-scans and bloods will be in the London clinic.
I have no cats..... very sorry! 😿
LG 18 months WTF???!!! Change Drs or at least point out NHS guidelines at the next appt.
Thanks all. She is actually really hot on this sort of stuff so wondering if I misheard or something! Either way I shall be kicking up a fuss come the 1 year mark. I'm actually still registered at the doctors near my parents as I liked her so much as live out of catchment now, so can move if it comes to it. I've done some more research and think I'll focus on getting my BMI down a bit more before I go back - I'm already on metformin which according to studies worked best at stimulating ovulation in women with a bmi under 30, and I'm only a stone off that now so will see if the temping/charting shows any difference once I'm a bit smaller - at least then I've done all I can to help myself... and my clothes will fit better!!
Thanks @choochooo for the offer - I'll attach a pic of my chart but it's a bit all over the place. Sadly I don't have an cats, but I've got 2 dogs and a horse, so I could dress one of them up if needed!
Urgh urgh urgh why oh why do our bodies mess about so much with our heads? Kept having short lp (8/9 days) with lots of spotting. Temped for the first time this cycle and got to day 12 with no period and raised temp (but spotting from dpo 7). Starting thinking maybe this was the cycle. Nope it's not.
Also finding pregnant women everywhere at work and on Facebook. I'm not upset. I am a wincy bit jealous. And I feel like I'm being stupid because it's only been 4 cycles. Grrrr!
Ooh kwick I'm keeping everything crossed!
LG horse yay! I had to sell my horse when I was pregnant. Long story but he was on loan and loanee decided he wasn't 'hers' enough so threatened to send him back if I didn't sell him to her. Sob sob. Best decision for him though, he's much happier with her.
Your chart does look a bit ragged but it's likely because of your varying time. If you can try to take same time when you just wake up it'll probably look more even. I found it hard to do that when DS was wee because of the chaotic night waking.
Rubber you're not being stupid! It's totally natural to feel like that. Has temp fallen below coverline then? I take it af arrived? Stupid bitch witch
lg I had a GPS who was actually a gynecologist and so called expert 3 times we saw her and on each occasion she asked if we were having sex (um only like twice a day!) why didn't we think of that!! And if when we had finished doing the deed the jiz came straight out again wt actual f needless to say we changed docs were seen once and referred there and then and got all the usual tests done!
Hmmm I don't have a cat either....I do have a bouncy dog and a fat pony though, so hopefully that's enough!
I wouldn't have a clue how to do a new Fred I'm afraid - is it even possible on the app?
