Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Flash I'm so sorry for your huge loss Flowers I lost my Granddad in October Sad Take care xxx

Gaelach I know someone a bit like that! Pregnant TWO weeks after stopping the pill Hmm Had a healthy baby boy and the parents broke up when he was 15 months. The dad has no interest in the boy now at all and has created another family elsewhere. What a mess! Hope you're feeling brighter today Flowers

Quiet I'm sorry, some people really don't think before they speak Hmm I lol'd at your almost reply!

Kerry did you get a Peak reading last week? I've heard they throw out flashing smileys for all sorts of reasons. You have it covered with a GOS so try to relax. Next cycle (hopefully there isn't one!) temping with give you definite answers 👍

Inspector it's probably got my hopes up a bit too much haha! I want to keep a PMA and visualise being pregnant anyway Wink I get what you mean about cycle length.. well in that case, I hope they stay at a lovely 27!

Jam massive congrats to MrJam, what an incredible achievement! His parents sound very full on Shock Maybe DH needs to have a quiet word? Don't beat yourself up for drinking, a few won't hurt I'm sure.

HepKestrel · 24/04/2017 10:17

I'm so sorry for your loss flash - my grandmothers death hit me hard a few years ago, the pain did get better and even though I still miss her, it's the good memories that dominate over the sadness now. 💐

I use a small part of my kitchen penguin - as long as I have enough room to do things like jump forward and backwards a couple of times and lie down for things like sit ups, it's all good!

He's got so much on YouTube jam! And he's got beginners stuff on there so you can work up without shocking your system too much. I was the same about avoiding a lot of exercise in the TWW and cutting out booze 100% - all it's got me is fatter, terminally bored and still no baby, so screw it, I'm just going to do what I want. I won't get trolleyed on booze as I realise that's silly, but I'm not going to beat myself up over a few glasses of wine. I had four small glasses on Friday and just enjoyed it - the positive effect on my mental health has been immense! Also, I've pretty much accepted this just isn't going to happen for us naturally, so am carrying on as normal while I can. Sorry - I seem to be in a rebellious mood today!

12dpo today and still not one whiff of a symptom - standard!

LSFX alexia!

QuietTime · 24/04/2017 11:07

Flash, I'm so sorry - how awful; thinking of you Flowers

SmittenPears · 24/04/2017 12:36

So sorry flash Flowers Flowers Flowers

KerryLeanne84 · 24/04/2017 13:56

So sorry to hear your news Flash - was it very sudden? ❤️

Thank you for the measured advice as ever Alexia! I never had a peak but perhaps I just missed it. Will definitely be temping next month!

AlexiaB · 24/04/2017 14:33

pyjamas has the spotting stayed away? Keeping my fx for you 🤞 No symptoms can still be a good sign.

Kerry as you didn't get a Peak I think it's normal it gave you a high reading yesterday. It's very easy to miss your Peak as most people surge later in the day. I think they're unreliable and a huge waste of money. I've definitely wasted money on them (£68Hmm) and one box is still unopened! Excited for you to temp Smile I love the reassurance.

Thinking of you Harriet Flowers

sk1pper · 24/04/2017 15:21

Sorry Flash, what terrible news. Thinking of you xx

Jam - your weekend sounds EXACTLY like mine, so it did make me chuckle a bit. I also had 2 or 3 drinks to take the edge off it all. I won't feel bad if you don't!!

Pyjamas81 · 24/04/2017 15:41

No spotting yet alexia - but I'm expecting it to start tomorrow! I'm in an uncharacteristically good mood today and have got loads of work done. Headspace app has really helped me this cycle (now on to the second foundation level) as well as the HIIT sessions.

I've also come to the conclusion that the CB digi opks are a massive waste of money (for me) as I always surge early evening!

HepKestrel · 24/04/2017 15:54

pyjamas I gave up on CS digi too !!

I much prefer the "analogue" sensitivity of the IC.

jam yes perhaps your DH needs a gentle word to his parents.

My parents went completely the other way.... My mum backed off completely as she was paranoid about being the "overbearing MIL". so much so that my SIL (the first one to have children) told me she was upset that my parents weren't excited to have grand children. I broke it to my SIL that my parents had been saving a bottle of champagne for 10 years ion anticipation of their first grandchild! They have a good relationship now, but my mum did need a few lessons on how to be a good MIL..... very easy for miscommunications between ILs.

miwelaisjacydo · 24/04/2017 16:46

💐 flash x

Londonjam · 24/04/2017 18:05

Thanks alexia yes maybe he does. I've had to ask him to have a word with them before and that did the job well. It's not fair to put all that pressure on me. I'm already worried about what they'll be like as grandparents.

Pyjamas you're right, it's too much of a sacrifice to your own body and state of mind to not exercise or drink. I can't help but worry a bit though still. Ugh yet another annoyance of long term TTC

Skipper did you have inlaws + marathon too?? High five for getting through it

Hep ahh bless your DM. It's hard to get it right isn't it.

Thinking of you flash xx

Yeah I know what you mean jam - today, I don't give a shit and want to give ttc the 🖕🏻. When I get AF on Thurs, I'll be cursing those HIIT sessions and glasses of wine. Bah!

sk1pper · 24/04/2017 19:30

Jam - ha ha I meant just the in law part, I don't know anyone fit enough to run the marathon. Incredible...

Pyjamas - got my fx for you anyway hon xx

Got a meeting at the hospital tomorrow, feeling quite anxious about it because whenever I have to talk about TTC recently I've been getting quite teary. It's unlike me. Don't want to make a complete fool of myself.

HepKestrel · 24/04/2017 20:16

Hope it all goes well for you skipper
We spend so long keeping TTC secret in real life, I can understand emotions coming out when you talk about it. You'll be fine Flowers

sk1pper · 24/04/2017 20:51

Thanks Hep xx

Pyjamas81 · 24/04/2017 21:01

Thanks skipper xx Hope your appt goes ok and totally understandable getting a bit teary!

SmittenPears · 24/04/2017 21:25

sk1pper good luck at the appointment; tears or no tears, you'll do great. We're all cheering you on.

HepKestrel · 24/04/2017 21:33

Londonjam · 24/04/2017 22:08

Kathrino · 24/04/2017 22:22

Good luck for tomorrow sk1pper, I hope it goes okay.

Harriet, have been thinking about you lots today Flowers

Good work on the 5k hep!

HepKestrel · 25/04/2017 06:59

And 7 days late, but AF finally here.

Pyjamas81 · 25/04/2017 07:26

Oh no hep - sorry about AF 🙁 Take care of yourself today. Well done on the 5k though 👍🏼 DH is trying to convince me to do parkrun with him, but am too embarrassed to run with other people (think phoebe from friends!)

Just did half an hour of HIIT in my kitchen - neighbours must think a herd of elephants have moved in next door 😂

13dpo today - let the Knicker Watch for spotting and batshit crazy times begin. Having trouble sleeping at the moment - lots of anxiety about being childless forever, morbid thoughts etc. All standard behaviour for this stage of TWW!
