Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

I've been struggling to tell my mum about my troubles trying to conceive, so I've just done it over email. Knowing my mum, she wont check her email for a few days...but at least its done. It's a bit impersonal but its never the right time face-to-face and I know I'll just make it more awkward than it needs to be. I feel like she needs to know before the IVF process is begun...

Found you all!

Pug
30
Pcos

Trying for just over 18 months. 1 bfp in early January this year and miscarried a week later.

Will likely be moving on to clomid in next 4 months once I've shifted some weight as due to pcos I don't ovulate regularly. In meantime will be having HSG and USS to check everything else is all ok.

Looks like I'll be booking that HSG verrry soon, looks like AF is starting.

Congrats to all the bfps over on the other thread!

Clo your consultant sounds nice and proactive.

Welcome all newbies, your in good company.

Hi again

Quiet
Age 32
CD 19 (had to check, so feel have done well ignoring dates :))

Nothing exciting to report; cycles are a bit on the short side, though not sure that's making any difference.

Hi to flora and AJE, and thanks for the new thread jam

Welcome all newcomers 😁

Chlo thats really interesting, I may ask our consultant when we see them if we shouldn't rule out something being up with me too. He just fixated on the morphology!

Skipper hope it's a relief getting it out there. Sometimes writing it all down can help - and it gives the other person time to read and re-read and take it all in.

Hello pug glad you found us 😁

I'm home alone tonight and god help me I'm watching One Born. May well be flipping over to Gogglebox at 9...

Hello all,
glittery
27
Cycle 4
Cd 22, 9dpo

Away at the minute so can't be tempted to test before 11dpo which will be Sunday but hoping to hold off till Monday (when af due)

For the first month in 3 spotting has not started 9dpo!! Yay for the b50!!! First month on it entire cycle. Also I have 2 sore boobs instead of one (although the right one still much sorer than the left), obviously not symptom spotting at all!!

Thanks for the new thread jam love the title.

It's worth checking out jam. that's why I tried to explain properly, as might be helpful to others.

Well done on writing the letter skip, that takes some guts to write it all down and put it out therw. Hope it's made you feel a bit better.

pug the hsg is painful but lots of people find it makes them fertile so it's definitely worth it

Thanks for the new thread Jam Happy Saturday ladies!

Skipper - well done for telling your mum. It was really hard when I told mine as it opened the door to infertility being a thing rather than just a passing phase, and I knew she so badly wants grandkids. I've now told my brother too and feel much better for it.

Chlo - is that your NHS consultant?

I'm Kerry, 32 TTC#1.
OH is 34, no diagnosed fertility problems with either of us - we've had all the tests and are now undergoing IUI before moving onto our one NHS funded IVF cycle.
CD5 - my period has buggered off and hoping to get in some good GOS before I go away on 17 April. I'm taking daily prenatal vitamins, mega b50, vitamin d, and we use preseed lube, then I have pineapple after ovulation
Cycle 17 (we have been off birth control for 25 months, but I mark 17 months ago as properly starting to try for various reasons I won't bore you with)

Well done writing the letter skipper - it's usually a relief to have things out in the open. My mum has known the whole time and it's helped a lot. Told my brother recently as well (when me and DH had that huge fight) and he's been unexpectedly hugely supportive.

On CD8 and FW kicked off yesterday with a GOS - my mum told me she got pregnant both times when HS on CD9 which we haven't done yet, so thought it was worth a shot just to see as my cycles are exactly the same as hers were. Who knows - am willing to try whatever at this point!

Hi fellow hormonal giraffes 👋 and welcome newbies

Haven't yet place marked on the new thread (thanks jam- btw I LOVE the pics) so:

Binky
31 (32 very very soon 😞)
Cycle 9, CD 24
Never even a smudge of a BFP
Longer cycles (31-39 days) and diagnosed this cycle with PCOS. Next step is DH sperm assessment then referral to hospital

Hey Eva nice to see you again. hope the antibiotics do the trick for your DH and you get your BFP soon 🤞

Chlo- whilst it must be tough when there's not a clear answer, it sounds like your doctor was really thorough and sensible, and you have a really good plan moving forwards. Glad you're doing ok- have my fingers crossed for a sticky bean for you very soon

Skip that's such a good idea- I haven't spoken to my mum yet as I can never seem to find the right time. Let us know how it goes next time you speak/ see her

Happy weekend girls- beautiful sunny day here so hoping to get some distraction from the TWW! 🤦‍♂️

Eva I missed your post before. Fx for you both the antibiotics fixes it. Good to know you have options if not.

Kerry good to hear you sounding more yourself , hope you're feeling better now af is clearing off

Hurrah for no spotting glitter!

I'm day 8 now, it flies around so quickly. DH is home this morning so shagathon starts again. Feeling quite zen this morning as I got up and did Parkrun for the first time this morning in my new local park. It was really friendly and a good vibe. I was hoping some people would go for a coffee afterwards but it didn't seem to be happening! Will definitely try and make it a regular thing though. Got home and did yoga with Adrienne so I'm feeling positively saintly 😇

Hope you all have sunshine and good weekends ahead

Hi ladies,
I had my op yesturday, had abdominal mymectomy to remove fibroids. Still in hospital have loads of pain relief , I'm taking things very slowly.

Hope you are all well.

Hopeful, I hope you're not feeling too bad and they've got the pain under control. When do you get to go home?

Jam, your post inspired me to get on the yoga mat. Now about to undo all that good work at a friend's 40th though ;)

So, here I am on CD 25, thinking that I ovulated about a week ago (cramps, EWCM etc) when I get a load of EWCM today. Just did an OPK and got a blazing positive so looks like being manic at work has totally messed my cycle up and I'm on track for a 50 day cycle this month :/

sk1pper · 08/04/2017 17:37

Hopeful - ahh good to hear from you, was just wondering if you'd had the op yet. Did they say how it went? Any idea how long before you can start trying again? Hope you recover quickly hon xx

Also catching up re steroids. Really interested to hear what you were advised Chlo. I've been told that I'll need a course if steroids when we do IVF as it's likely that all the hormones will cause my wonky immune system to go a bit haywire. I personally (and with absolutely no scientific evidence at all) think that may be part of our problem and my overactive immune system might be fighting anything that tries to stick. In theory, the meds that I already take should prevent that but I feel like steroids may help.

Report
Hopefulbunny · 08/04/2017 18:48

Op went well they managed to 7cm fibroid and 3 cm fibroid, didn't loose much blood and surgeon was happy with how it went.
You have to wait 3 months before ttc. I'm glad everything well but snuggling with the pain a bit and getting up to wall is so difficult. Will be coming out soon. Hopefully things will get better shortly.

Hopefulbunny · 08/04/2017 18:51

Clearly I've had too many drugs, meant to say they managed to remove fibroids and struggling with the pain, clearly still spaced out lol!

Report
glitteryvibes · 08/04/2017 19:17

hopeful glad the op went well for you, I'm sure 3 months will fly by, just keep taking all the pain relief they throw at you!

chlo your consultant sounds very knowledgable, had no idea steroids were sometimes used. Presume they use them at immunosuppressive doses if that's the thinking behind their use?

Oh kath how frustrating, are you getting ovulation pain too? I know OPKs pick up HCG but it seems too early for that if you actually did ovulate a week ago? Hope you can get in some GOS just in case

So I caved and tested this morning as still not spotting at 11dpo. It's a bit of a squinter but it's definitely there. Not due till tomorrow so will probably believe it more when no af in a couple of days.

Glittery yes! Congratulations! 🎉 Can you remind us of your stats, anything different this cycle etc? I think that line is pretty good for before AF due- fx for a smooth 9months!

27, cycle 4, had been off the pill for 3 years prior to starting. First cycle using b50 for entire cycle (started somewhere around o last month), did temp this month but more out of interest as to how long after a positive opk I ovulated. Hs more throughout the entire cycle this month as well. Nothing else new.

Report
Pyjamas81 · 09/04/2017 09:02

Wow congratulations glittery!! There's definitely a line there! What a great weekend surprise 😊

Glad the op went well hopeful and hope you have a speedy recovery.

How annoying kath! Looks like you've surged twice this month - happened to me once when I was stressed out at work.

DH and I had a great day yesterday - some friends came around for dinner and we enjoyed a few glasses of 🍷 with them. Nothing crazy, but it was nice for both of us to relax.

On CD9 now and third day of flashing smiley face. Hoping for a flashing smiley tomorrow then static on Tues so we avoid the pressure of having to HS on consecutive days!
