Thread 28, TTC #1 | We may be hormonal giraffes but we don't eat no low fat humous

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Thanks guys, you are the best group- although this whole TTC malarkey sucks, am so glad to have found you all!

Kathrino I'm also on my way home today- I'll weigh in tomorrow, would be great to have a pal in losing some weight before gaining it all back I hope with a baby! Safe flight 🛩

Flashinthepan · 21/04/2017 11:37

I'm in Binky and Kathrino. I've been over on the weight loss board trying to lose a stone. I'd like to lose half a stone by end of May as a first goal.

Sorry to hear about your horrid af Binky. Brew

harrietm87 · 21/04/2017 12:11

I'm in too! I don't think I need to lose weight but am going to dramatically overhaul my diet. All my research is suggesting my mcs are caused by autoimmune reactions (as I have hashimotos disease) and apparently can reduce symptoms of that and low progesterone through diet. Also want to get back into my running as I think it will improve my mental health!

I've booked in for an MVA on Monday - basically an erpc with local anaesthetic. I would have had to wait until Friday for erpc and I'm flying home that day for a friend's wedding so couldn't do that. I think it will be horrible but I'll be so glad once it's done.

HepKestrel · 21/04/2017 12:17

harriet I think i can speak for all us offering you a virtual hand-hold for monday. Flowers

i have brought my running kit to work...... i will go running, i will go running , i will go running .....

Flashinthepan · 21/04/2017 14:41

You can do it Hep. I run home from work 3 times a week, but it's only 2 miles.

Harriet exactly what Hep said. We're all here.

Pyjamas81 · 21/04/2017 15:55

Hi guys - have been in the worst mood EVER and apologies haven't been able to catch up! If there's room in the let's get baby fit gang, im in ☺️

Well, I caved. Currently sat outside office vaping as I type 🙁 AF due on Thursday and I'm already feeling like a hatred spewing dragon 😤 Work is annoying me, ttc is driving me around the bend, feels like whole life is on hold, and just found out that father in law is staying from Friday to Tuesday over the bank holiday weekend when all I'll want to do is hide. Sorry for the whingeathon! I'm going to have a glass of wine tonight - it won't make a blind bit of difference and need to hang out with someone who isn't DH for a change. Sounds mean, I know 🙁

HepKestrel · 21/04/2017 16:08

Wine pyjamas

i'm a completely unsociable sod, so i sympathise about having visitors when all you want to do is go hermit.

Flashinthepan · 21/04/2017 16:19

Pyjamas sympathies from me.

Don't know if this is remotely possible/wanted by you, but could you book yourself into a local hotel/b and b for one night over the bank holiday weekend so that you can have some time to yourself. Can always lie to FIL and say you are meeting friends for the evening so he doesn't feel it's him, and can say to DH that you need a bit of space and it'll give him some time with his dad?

Pyjamas81 · 21/04/2017 16:25

That would be absolutely ideal - but think DH would get offended and don't think I can handle yet another fight around AF time! I may just feign sickness when they want to go somewhere so I can have the house to myself for a while 👍🏼

sk1pper · 21/04/2017 16:32

Pyjamas - im another very unsociable person too. I absolutely loathe people staying in my home, I'm an introvert so I need my own space and quiet quite regularly. Unfortunately, there isn't an awful lot you can do except put on a brave face.

Pyjamas81 · 21/04/2017 16:41

I'm exactly the same skipper! Hate people staying over - esp since the spare bed is in the room I use as my study! WAH. But you're right - will just have to grin and bear it!

SmittenPears · 21/04/2017 16:44

flash, Binky and Kathrino, totally with you on the getting in shape train! I'm trying to get over my dislike for running. Downloaded that free app someone mentioned above.

I think I just got a positive opk! Have been having twingy ovary pains for a couple of days. Does anyone else ever feel a little nauseous when they're ovulating? I'm CD35, which I think is when I ovulated last cycle (long, somewhat irregular cycles).

SmittenPears · 21/04/2017 16:53

I mean, that's way positive, yeah?

KerryLeanne84 · 21/04/2017 17:02

Definitely positive Smitten! I have just ovulated and been feeling sick too. And SO tired!

SmittenPears · 21/04/2017 17:10

kerryleanne, omg cycle buddies. Glad I'm not alone with this symptom our cycles really throw everything in the book at us, don't they!

I've lost track of who is the listmaster, but FF now says I should test on May 9.

AlexiaB · 21/04/2017 17:29

Definitely positive Smitten Grin We're tww buddies because I literally just got my positive! I'm sure mine can get darker but I seriously cba to withhold fluids any longer. I don't get nausea but I've had two rounds of ELHs today 😂 which is a sign.

I'm CD14 today so a bit later than I'd hoped on Clomid. We've HS CD11 and 13 - hoping for 14 & 15 too!

With you all on losing some weight and being healthier. Inspired by all your running, puts me to shame. Like Binky said though, I don't think chugging grapefruit juice and pom juice, eating Brazil nuts and loads of pineapple is helping me!

Thank you Inspector. Never worry about posting long messages - I love reading them and I'm sure everyone appreciates it! I'll definitely look into that therapy you mentioned, sounds good. I'm also interested to see what the GP will offer DH.

pyjamas I think I'd be faking illness too 😂 Hope AF stays well away! Can definitely relate to ttc taking over your whole life ugh

Harriet still thinking of you Flowers Hope Monday goes as smoothly as possible.

Love ya too skipper. Hope you had a good rest and today hasn't been too awful!

Safe flight Kath. Hope af is not on her way Flowers but if she is, hoping your cycle shortens next month (and you can reduce your work load and stress).

Hope you're ok Jam?

SmittenPears · 21/04/2017 17:53

Sounds excellent, Alexia! Glad I'm in good company! Grin

KerryLeanne84 · 21/04/2017 18:00

Omg Alexia - I've been getting the ELHs too! Wondered what that was about.

I'm on day 18 over here, period due 1 May 🌈

KerryLeanne84 · 21/04/2017 18:01

Oh well done Alexia on all the GOS!! That's fantastic 💏

AlexiaB · 21/04/2017 18:01

Forgot to say Smitten - that couple you mentioned the other day.. Omg ShockSad It's heartbreaking they've lost their baby again! Their whole life could/should have been so different. I was so moved I donated to their gofundme.

AlexiaB · 21/04/2017 18:06

Thanks Kerry ❤️ He had to use a magic pill but it worked! Went to bed at 11.30pm last night, done by 12. Easy! No stress, no tears.

Lol at the ELHs 😂 It's so strange isn't it! Good warning sign though. Fx for us all the cycle xx

Londonjam · 21/04/2017 18:13

Mentally busy day sorry I'm out the loop!! I'm fine though thanks for asking alexia xx very nice work on the GOSing too, your DH must be relieved 😌

Peaches!! So happy to hear baby doing well. Sorry your dad is unwell - all the best for his health and recovery
