Thread 28, TTC #1 | We may be hormonal giraffes but we don't eat no low fat humous

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

MrsH they advise it can take upto 6 months for your cycle to "normalise" after coming off bc.

My advise would be to destress and take a few months as a "training" period. learn to opk and/or temp and get to know your cycle again. My cycle changed after going on bc (perhaps just an age thing though).

Flashinthepan · 19/04/2017 10:45

Sorry that post was a bit of a downer, feel free to ignore as I'm not feeling very positive today.

AlexiaB · 19/04/2017 10:47

Forgot to mention this creepy story...

Went to the bathroom last night around 8pm and thought I'd see if I could get a pee sample to OPK. Grabbed my little pee pot and held it in place. After about a minute I realised I couldn't pee (strange!). So I pulled it away and then noticed a big bloody black insect inside it Shock Shock Shock Ewww I freaked the f out!

Moral of the story - always look inside your pee pots first!

AlexiaB · 19/04/2017 10:51

Big hugs Flash it's just awful especially around anniversary dates. This is the right place to vent so never feel like you're bringing us down! If it all gets too much then go home? Sometimes a day in bed away from the world is what you need. Hope you've got some nice food to cheer you up xx

Flashinthepan · 19/04/2017 11:04

Thanks Alexia. Not much good food wise at work, but plenty of tea, and having steak and chips for dinner tonight which will help.

As for your pee pot story, that is horrifying, I think I would have cried or run around screaming hysterically!

Miranda234 · 19/04/2017 11:24

Thinking of you flash Flowers

KerryLeanne84 · 19/04/2017 11:30

So sorry Flash - I'm always inconsolable the day AF arrives too. Big hugs to you.

Alexia great news re the GOS! Hurrah!

I'm CD16 over here and still flashing smiley on the ov test which presumably means I might not ov until CD17 or 18. Will test again this evening.

We had sex CD15 so I'm not holding out much hope for this cycle .

sk1pper · 19/04/2017 12:57

So sorry about AF Flash xx

Alexia - er are you sure you weren't dreaming???

QuietTime · 19/04/2017 13:51

Oh flash what a bitch, hope you're doing OK and work isn't too much of a drag Flowers Have to admit, was glad mine came on bank holiday so I could wallow a bit - can understand wanting to escape xx

Alexia eurgh!

miwelaisjacydo · 19/04/2017 14:01

💐flash

SmittenPears · 19/04/2017 14:01

Sorry flash :( :( Wine

Alexia, LSFX! Woohoo! But ewwww about the bug!!

Does anyone follow "John & Joan" on YouTube/Instagram?

MissyJones80s · 19/04/2017 14:10

Sorry flash hugs and Flowers

Well I'm here to say unsurprisingly AF arrived yesterday. Here's to cycle 8 then...
Looking for no AF on or around 14 May!

alexia that's a horror of a story eeeeeew

Working from home today as have new cloakroom being installed bloomin headaches and power tools do not mix grrrr

AlexiaB · 19/04/2017 14:18

Yay for steak and chips Flash. Hope you're doing alright.

skipper lol I wish I was!!! The only thing that calmed me down a bit was it barely moved so I was 99% sure it didn't actually touch me but then what if I'd actually peed... Shock ahhhh

Kerry sorry you can't give it your best shot this month Flowers I know how frustrating it is! Can you hold and do a cheapie opk this afternoon / evening? I really don't trust those CBD ov tests because you can easily miss your peak if you surge in the afternoon / evening like most people do.

Smitten I don't but I just had a quick look (I'm quite a big YouTube watcher). What a tragic story but I was happy to see they're expecting again!

MissyJones80s · 19/04/2017 14:18

Sorry guys I'm so far behind will try to catch up but looks like so much has happened! Sorry if I have missed any exciting news...and to those with AF or general shit times FlowersCakeBrewWineBiscuit

AlexiaB · 19/04/2017 14:23

Oh Missy I'm sorry af got you Flowers Builders and a headache sounds awful, hugs!

KerryLeanne84 · 19/04/2017 14:44

Smitten I didn't but I just followed her on Instagram to see the latest news. So so awful, my heart goes out to her.

Alexia sadly I didn't bring any cheapies with me and I'm miles from anywhere with no car. I'll try another clearblue later on though and report back!

MissyJones80s · 19/04/2017 15:24

Thanks alexia glad to hear you got some action Grin

harrietm87 · 19/04/2017 16:44

Hi all just thought I'd update. I had my scan earlier and it's still officially inconclusive but almost certainly another mc. The gestational sac had grown but the yolk sac had disappeared. They won't diagnose a mmc until the gestational sac is over 20mm and empty, so as mine is 15mm it's still uncertain. Clearly though the fact the yolk sac has gone is a very bad sign. I just want to get this over with now.

I had such a miserable weekend I've kind of made peace with it now. Which is lucky as had to come back to work straight after the scan.

My next scan is Monday and I'm hoping I can book in for erpc soon after that. I've now had 3 mcs in a row so will be referred for testing.

At least I'll be back on this thread hanging out with you all again! Thanks again for the support.

Kathrino · 19/04/2017 16:49

Oh harriet, I'm so sorry that there wasn't better news at your scan today. Life seems so unfair.

harrietm87 · 19/04/2017 16:53

I know, I wanted this baby so much. But we all want our babies. I'm just trying to have hope I'll have one some day.

HepKestrel · 19/04/2017 16:55

I'm so sorry harriet Flowers

are you able to take some time off work to look after yourself?

harrietm87 · 19/04/2017 17:02

I can't at the moment - I'm in work right now trying to hold it together. I'm hoping to have erpc (surgical management) and will then be able to take a couple of days if I can. It's hard feeling so helpless and not being able to talk about it (except on here obviously).

MissyJones80s · 19/04/2017 17:04

So sorry to read this news harriet there are no words only support x

Tonks87 · 19/04/2017 17:13

I'm so sorry to read your news Harriet. I can't imagine how hard it is. You've been in my thoughts all day and I had my fingers crossed for better news. I'm really sorry that it's not.

Londonjam · 19/04/2017 17:17

So sorry harriet :( Am thinking of you. I can understand you wanting to go with the ERPC and be able to move on - as best as you can. It's so unfair this has happened to you again, so cruel. Sending you strength Flowers

We had our appointment this afternoon and are now on the waiting list for IVF. It'll start in October, so a bit of a wait. In the meantime I can have an HSG which I think I'll book for next cycle when AF comes. We can also self fund a medicated cycle and / IUI. The success rates are not much higher than trying naturally, so I think we will save our money for an IVF pot in case we need or want to pay for that.

The doctor was much nicer and took more time with us, such a different experience to the first appointment.

Re. the HSG. He said you can't try that cycle. How serious is that? Did other HSGers try after having it?
