Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Picture of the front cover below chlo - it's a brilliant book - written from both man and woman perspectives and set in the UK. My DH is currently reading it and is engrossed!

Still laughing skipper 😂😂

Fx for you tomorrow Harriet

Back to work tomorrow - UGH. On the upside - I haven't vaped since before we went away! Huzzah 😊

Hee hee glad my mishap has made you all smile. If I get pregnant on any cycle, surely it has to be this one...that conception story is a good one.

sk1pper · 18/04/2017 22:22

Harriet - good luck tomorrow hon xx

And also sorry about AF binkster Flowers

Chlo22 · 18/04/2017 22:28

Bloody hilarious skipper, at least it's given you a laugh and you had a GOS as well. Win win.

Thanks pyjamas, looks like a good, helpful read. Good that it's set in the UK too. Some of the books I've read have been written by US authors and whilst they are good, they are a bit OTT for me. One to add to the list.

Have many of you read It starts with the egg? I've been googling but found it a bit overwhelming! Since I've come back from hols, I've been obsessed again but while I was away, I totally chilled about it all. I know we're all in the same boat and wouldn't be here by choice and so wouldn't need to obsess but does anyone ever think am I crazy when POAS or chugging down a load of tablets? Feel a bit stuck between wanting it so desperately I'm completely obsessed and I'll do anything to make it happen and thinking this isn't healthy/ get a grip.

Pyjamas81 · 18/04/2017 23:01

It's definitely not ott chlo - that's why I liked it so much! Very down to earth and uncomplicated - I found the male perspective particularly interesting. I've read it starts with the egg and I know what you mean about it being overwhelming! I definitely don't freak out if I happen to touch anything plastic, but I have started taking ubiquinol, cut down on alcohol, eat a balanced diet and have given up caffeine. I know what you mean about trying to find the right balance - it's hard!

Chlo22 · 18/04/2017 23:04

Yes I read the reviews on amazon after you posted and it got a massive thumbs up. Will definitely be purchasing. The whole plastic thing in it starts with the egg sounded way too OTT for me! But yes some of the supplements sound good and know a lot of ladies on here have mentioned taking them.

MrsH52 · 19/04/2017 07:33

Hi all Smile
I've been lurking for a while again. Some hilarious comments in the last day! Harriet I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for you today.

I'm only on c#2 but am cd34 today and only had cd31 last month. So am getting so frustrated. Have taken 3 bfn tests in the last 5 days. It makes me wish I'd come off the pill earlier. Did anyone take a while to regulate after coming off bc? Also at what kind of length of cycle should I begin to get worried?! I just wish af would hurry up if i keep getting bfns so I can move on to next month...Envy

Pyjamas81 · 19/04/2017 07:35

Nice one alexia! Happy dance --> 💃🏻

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/04/2017 07:36

Hi all. Just wanted to drop by and say hi to you all, as I've been trying to follow the thread still but haven't posted in a while.

Alexia great work, well done on HS last night.

Skipper you're hilarious - your story really made me chuckle. I truly hope that this has worked for you, as that will be an amazing conception story.

Harriet I'm thinking of you today, let us know and how you get on.

Hope everyone else is ok Smile

Flashinthepan · 19/04/2017 08:12

Oh Skipper that made me laugh so hard. Dedication to the cause!

Nice work Alexia LSFX for you!

Harriet thinking of you today. I hope it's good news but if not I found out about my ectopic at a private scan and they were very thorough, knowledgeable and kind.

Took a test and bfn, followed by af arriving so I'm definitely out now.

miwelaisjacydo · 19/04/2017 08:47

Yay Alexia

We are on the every other day dtd. I'm not putting emphasis on when I ovulate because it's too much pressure.

Londonjam · 19/04/2017 10:13

Thinking of you today harriet

Caffeine pyjamas! How did you do this??? Is it really important to give it up?

I need to read that egg book...

Hurrah for GOS alexia that's great :D

I only ever had one cup a day in the morning anyway jam, so wasn't difficult to give up! Nothing compared to giving up nicotine 🙁 I haven't vaped since Thursday, was totally fine while we were away and yesterday, now getting cravings at work because everyone is annoying me so much! Must stay strong!

Londonjam · 19/04/2017 10:26

Hang in there! Does chewing gum or nibbling on some fruit and veggies help? I would need a replacement habit!

Kathrino · 19/04/2017 10:27

Well done on the lack of vaping pyjamas, that's brilliant! Hope the return to work today wasn't too bad...

Chlo, I deliberately try to avoid some of the too OTT recommendations. I can't believe that anything is going to make anything more than the tiniest bit of difference and it just doesn't seem worth the mental stress. This is hard enough without feeling like life is even more on hold.

Glad you had a successful night Alexia!

MrsH, if it makes you feel any better, I've never been on BC and am currently CD36. I'm trying not to worry too much about it - there's nothing I can do! Did you temp/do OPKs to see when you ovulated?

Thinking of you harriet.

Hope the appointment goes well Jam.

So sorry about AF Flash, what a total bugger. Hope you're doing okay.

AlexiaB · 19/04/2017 10:30

Thanks girls! Smile I feel so relieved this morning and it actually wasn't too much of a struggle. That was probably O-3 so I'm aiming for the next 2 nights if we can.

Oh no Flash, I'm so sorry about af Cake How long was your LP?

Thinking of you Harriet xx

Nice to see you back Hep Flowers

miw that sounds like a good, stress free plan.

Hi bluebell hope things are going well.

MrsH sorry about the BFNs. I don't have any personal experience of coming off the pill but I know it can it can differ greatly from person to person. You might just need a few more cycles to regulate. I'd advise tracking with opks or temps so you can check you're O'ing and also keep an eye on LP length.

Pyjamas81 · 19/04/2017 10:32

Thanks kath - amazing how this place sucks any zen achieved out of me within a matter of seconds!

I used to get nicotine lozenges jam, but ended up just being addicted to those! Now I just try and remind myself the craving is temporary - Headspace app has helped a lot!

AlexiaB · 19/04/2017 10:38

Hang in there pyjamas you've got this!!! Go to the magic vending machine instead Smile

My DH vapes, mostly nicotine free ones. I'd probably rather he quit altogether but it's a billion times better than him smoking. He mostly does it after he's eaten.

I'm the same with caffeine, I've never drunk / liked tea or coffee which is handy.

Flashinthepan · 19/04/2017 10:44

Thanks ladies. It's so slow to start, like my mind has convinced my body I don't want it to arrive so it's drip feeding little bits. I feel really sick and my boobs still hurt but I know I am not upduffed. It's just miserable. I've tried to keep my chin up this morning but it's really hit me to be honest. I think because it's a year this week since I found out I was pregnant. Part of me wants to feign illness and slope off home.

Jam I gave up caffeine when I was pregnant and never went back on once I wasn't.

Honestly, I don't think much of it really does make much difference unless you have an identified problem that has an identified solution, but that's just my personal opinion. If it helped, we'd all be upduffed, or millions of women with terrible health, lifestyles, quality of life would never get pregnant, and that isn't true.
