Hi ladies just thought I'd quickly drop in with some advice... for Anne in particular!
Be VERY careful about taking baby aspirin to prevent miscarriage as I was doing it and today was hospitalised with Acute Gastritis and a ruptured stomach ulcer as a result. Hope everyone is ok!

DaisyLou85 · 26/04/2017 20:39

Crazy hope you doing ok? Thanks for the info. Are you having to stay in hospital or have you been discharged.
Doesn't seem to have been a great day for many of you on here. Hope tomorrow is a better day 🤞

LisaSimpsonsbff · 26/04/2017 21:15

Just catching up on this thread. Lots of BFPs - congratulations and good wishes to all!

Flowers to those who are having a tough time of it at the moment.

I've decided that I do want to try this month, having thought about a break. DH is pleased - he didn't want to stop for a month or two (but obviously was ok with it if it's what I needed).

It's interesting what lots of people have said about expectations of falling quickly, etc. My first pregnancy happened six months after we started trying, so not that long but long enough! When I lost that I just assumed it would take me a while to get pregnant again - but then it was the very next cycle. But then I lost that too. So now I think a part of me is overly hopeful about this cycle, and somewhere at the back of my mind is the idea that I'll fall straight away again, and that this one will stick. I keep telling myself that there's no guarantee of that, but I know I'll be upset when AF comes.

Smurf123 · 26/04/2017 21:19

crazy hope you are alright!!
Still waiting on doctor to return my call... I'm not holding out much hope..
Random question.. Does anyone suffer from hayfever? Is it really bad atm?
I have hayfever (and mild asthma) and I do take ceiterizine.. Which I've heard is supposed to be OK in pregnancy if really needed. Normally with the ceiterizine my hayfever is fairly under control. But the past week or so I have been unbelievably congested and it's even worse at night. Meaning I'm getting virtually no sleep and it's driving me mental. I'm reluctant to take anything else just incase I become pregnant anytime soon and tbh I don't know of anything that might help.
I'm struggling not to test.. Even though I know chances of me being pregnant are slim and I know it's really too early anyway but my husband is playing computer games and the temptation is driving me crazy.. Mumsnet and the fact I would have to walk to the shop to buy some is the only thing stopping me right now.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 26/04/2017 21:24

smurf have you tried the nasal sprays? I think (though double-check, obviously!) that they're ok in pregnancy. Lots of sympathy for you - for some reason (touch wood) my hayfever hasn't kicked off yet this year, but it's horrible when it does.

Smurf123 · 26/04/2017 21:25

Sorry for everyone having a difficult day! Flowers
It's difficult but it does get a little easier as time goes on... After my first mc it took us 7 months to get pregnant again and tbh it happened when we "stopped trying" we didn't prevent but my husband sat me down one day and said you know what this is driving us both crazy we got to just go with the flow and it will happen when it happens.. I did agree and still do really but now almost 2 months after my second mc it is still incredibly hard to do that.. It seems so much easier for men!

Smurf123 · 26/04/2017 21:31

Thanks lisa I've had flexanaise before but when I was pregnant I was told to try and not take it and tbh since the mc I forgot to order a new one.. Will ask gp about it on Tuesday...
My vivofit is shouting at me otherwise Smile deep sleep the past 3 nights - 3 hours 19 mins, 4 hours 6 mins and on Sunday night a whole 55mins Shock

peachgreen · 26/04/2017 21:35

Crazy oh my goodness, how scary! How are you doing now?

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/04/2017 21:43

Jesus crazy, so sorry to hear that, hope you're okay! How can they treat it?

I'm taking it for the second half of my cycle, being careful to have it after food. Started at the end of last cycle so in second one now.

Loads of people are on it for heart and blood issues and it's such a low dose I don't even really think of it!

Thanks for letting us know and I'm so sorry. Hope they're looking after you x

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/04/2017 21:46

Rubbish you haven't had a call yet smurf. I'm taking hay fever pills till I get a bfp and using sudofed spray as little as possible and making life bearable! You can't use the really good sprays when pregnant but saline ones are said to be safe and I've heard about an infrared one too.

Till bfp I'm carrying on pretty much as usual.

Hope everyone's having an okay night x

BertieBotts · 27/04/2017 01:37

Still waiting for AF with BFN/possible squinters (but really, this is crazy talk. I am one to go gaga over a squinter and even I am not convinced this is anything). Not lost hope. But we only DTD up to the 9th April and I think I would have had to ovulate really early or have swimmers hanging on with all their might for anything to happen. But I have been eating loads of pineapple Grin so who knows, maybe that helps?? BTW core of pineapple is supposed to do a similar thing to baby aspirin but with fewer risks if anyone is interested. Has to be fresh, not tinned. Unfortunately the core is chewy, tasteless and makes your mouth sting but worth a try?? Same deal, take from confirmed ovulation until AF/BFP then stop. Get your DHs to eat pineapples in the first half of the cycle too, as it strengthens the sperm. I think we're going to be pineappled out Hmm

Hi all I've been discharged still in horrendous pain after TWO endoscopies and some silly bitch butchering an attempt at arterial blood gases :( they've given me lanprazole and strict instructions to NOT touch any NSAIDS (ibuprofen, aspirin, diclofenac etc). Just wanted to warn yous all to be careful as I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone! Morphine isn't even touching it :(

DancingUnicorn · 27/04/2017 07:40

Crazy I'm so sorry, that sounds really horrible. Hope it starts to heal soon and the pain eases.

Bertie fx the squinters are the real deal!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 27/04/2017 07:42

Oh Crazy that sounds awful. I hope you start to feel better soon.

A new day today, lets hope it's a more positive one for us! Good luck to those testing this morning.

lookatthemoon · 27/04/2017 09:14

Crazy - you poor thing!! How awful. Hope your recover quickly and get some pain relief soon. I got a bfn this morn at 11 dpo - bertie i've also been torturing myself that I can see a line that isn't a line, but a shadow of a line. I can't even see an evap. Which is how starkly white it is. My nipples are still all weird though, I think they are just mocking me now.

NicolaC17 · 27/04/2017 10:14

Fuck this shit!! BFN this morning and just been pulled aside at work and told one of the girls is pregnant who came back from maternity a few month ago! World you are a shit bag today!! Only 3 baby showers to get through next few months as well. I'm going to run today to try unleash this anger!! Xx

AmyL88 · 27/04/2017 10:21

Hi Ladies,

Been away for a while, life has just taken over but i'm glad t see some BFP's!!

After my erpc in Feb (seems like a lifetime ago) i am finally in my fertile window according to my app, have been testing like a crazy lady but no positive ovulation yet!

Do any of you ladies have ovarian cysts? Since my MMC i have been tested for PCOS which they don't think i have, but they have found a cyst on my left ovary. Didn't give me too much info other than i have to go back in a few weeks to check if it has gone. Haas anyone else had this?

hometownunicorn · 27/04/2017 10:32

@Crazyvaperlady that sounds awful. I hope you recover quickly.

@NicolaC17 I'm sorry, that's really rubbish. I hope the run helps.

I saw this this morning about the impacts of running - thought some of you might find it interesting https://digest.bps.org.uk/2017/04/19/10-ways-that-running-changes-your-mind-and-brain/

@AmyL88 at a scan I was told I might have polycystic ovaries although I definitely don't have the syndrome. I don't know what it means really. I hope you do find out.

I have a question about AF after mc. I had natural management (no choice really, it just happened Confused) and at a follow up scan had some remaining tissue, but got a bfn two weeks later and have since had an af, so I assume it's all cleared out. I think af is starting now, but it's really slow and more like spotting than a proper period. And it's a couple of days early which has never happened for me before. - always dead on time or late when I thought I might be most likely to be pregnant (my body likes to mess with me). I've read it's normal for cycles to be a bit of a mess after mc but I wondered if it had happened to anyone else and how long it took to get back to normal?

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/04/2017 10:35

Nicola Sad Angry Wine Flowers (((Hug)))

What a shitter. Do you feel af is on the way?

You know you really don't have to go to the showers, no one can make you, and if they're going to make you feel like a pile of crap - would me, I'm not going to any should I get invited, and I'm avoiding the work ones like the plague - then please bin them off and do something nice for yourself instead. A tummy bug on the day means you won't hurt anyone's feelings.

For now, get through today as well as you can and plan a decent run for later. I'm so so sorry it's all a shit shower.

Like a crazy person, I was trawling Ovia for the symptoms I had before my last BFP. When I fucking KNOW I had the same ones last month before af. Less the thrush, actually, for which I am very grateful.

I haven't had any experience of ovarian cysts Amy but others might be able to help. Do you know why they were testing you for it?

BertieBotts · 27/04/2017 10:36

Had some spotting yesterday but boobs are sore so at least I should get an answer by the end of the week :) I'm sort of tempted to test again but I only ordered ten and I'll have used them all up at this rate Blush I do need a wee... I think since the lines I am imagining are so invisible I ought to at least wait until the evening/tomorrow especially as I've had spotting already... hmmmmm.... what to do!

NicolaC17 · 27/04/2017 10:43

Thanks @annelovesgilbert - pretty sure she is on her way as I've got cramps. The baby showers are for two of my closest friends so I would feel terrible if I didn't go, plus I'm doing the baby shower cakes too...should never have commited to that: they are both low key though and if it's too much I will leave.

Definitely think a run will help and some fizz this weekend.

When will you test? I hope it's good news for you. Xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/04/2017 10:50

Fx for you Bertie, see how you go but maybe try with fmu tomorrow as that's got more of a chance.

Af due Tuesday so to humour my consultant I thought I'd poas Saturday and if bfn then wait till Tuesday or Wednesday. I've got about 10 decent tests scattered around the house.... Dangerous. I'm about 10DPO today. Never had a BFP before 13DPO I think.

BertieBotts · 27/04/2017 11:10

Yes I think I'll wait and see if the spotting increases or not first.

Hi ladies sorry to just jump in on the thread but thought this would be the best place for some advice (and hopefully reassurance!) I have a 2.5 yo DD and had a miscarriage earlier this year - it was a blighted ovum and sac only grew to 5 weeks, found out at 8 weeks after cramps and bleeding.
Just got my BFP super early yesterday - 12 dpo! A stronger line this morning too and unlike last time when I had no symptoms I've been feeling very sicky and had other symptoms like hot flushes.
The problem is I'm getting lots of strong cramps and twinges and it's terrifying me Sad

I suppose my question is - how normal is this? I don't remember having this with DD but don't think I was as in tune with symptoms then. And my other question is - knowing my DH and I can conceive a healthy child, what are my chances of a second pregnancy? Google seems to be giving me mixed results!!

Sorry for the long post - thanks in advance xxx

AmyL88 · 27/04/2017 11:55

I am only being tested because my blood test results came back that i have slightly higher testosterone, and with struggling to conceive i think they want to rule that out. Hence going for more scans and now them finding a bloody cyst.

My best friend is going for her Scan next week and i'm so nervous for her but then also just wish is was me too...emotional time!

@hometownunicorn My period didn't come back until 10 weeks after erpc and it was really heavy, so i think you need to go easy on yourself while your body tries and gets back to normal. I was worrying for weeks but only when i calmed down and (tried) to stop worrying it returned!

I am hoping i ovulate the next few days, just desperate for my body to get back to normal :(
