Thread 26. TTC #1 - Calm as a hysterical cucumber

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Thanks jam and kath

Welcome secarter

Skipper I think we will probably end up with IVF ICSI eventually but I doubt they will refer us straight to it. Our GP said his sperm results were not concerning, and two of my doctor mates fertility colleagues said the same thing. Kath had the same response from the specialist with regards to low morphology. They bung you in the unexplained camp and you have to be trying two years for IVF referral.

When you say full results of HSG what do you mean - could there be more they didn't tell you at the time? End of April is not far at all. Infertility really is a life lesson in patience though isn't it.

I know what you mean about feeling calmer. I'm a couple of cycles behind you but I feel like I've reached a place of acceptance that this isn't happening for us. I've kind of forgotten that I expected it to happen quickly and easily. I have my moments when I'm hormonal where I feel like sobbing on the floor / at my desk / on the bus but on the whole it's kind of just become my life now. Never ending TTC!

I'm loving yoga too and enjoying gogglebox return on telly and The Crown. Also massively distracted by our property purchase - should be exchanging this week eek!

sk1pper · 27/02/2017 22:12

The gynaecologist will just go over the full report from radiology I believe but they told me there and then that the tubes were clear. So I'm sure it won't be a long chat about the results.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do give you some kind of dye flush then, either the HSG or HyCoSy. Just to boost your chances for a couple of cycles. I've heard that sometimes they like young couples to wait two years before beginning IVF, it's a royal pain in the ass but you're right - we've both accepted the troubles and pain now.

Really, really good luck with your new home. Hope it all exchanges without a hitch, it's a nice distraction - albeit a stressful one. Once your in there you can focus on making it your perfect home and that's the fun part.

Kathrino · 27/02/2017 22:30

Jam, I'd be surprised if they don't offer you HSG/HyCoSy too. My doc said that if we transferred back to the NHS, they'd want to do that in order to confirm the diagnosis of unexplained infertility. In her view, it was a totally unnecessary procedure for me given my incredibly boring cycles but I don't know how much of her advice was influenced by the fact that she knows the reasons why I don't like invasive medical treatment and therefore was trying to protect me from a traumatic (for me) medical experience which would be unlikely to have any real benefit. Good luck with the house exchange too, how exciting!!

Sk1pper, lovely to hear how chilled out you are. An example to us all! I will be keeping everything crossed that you get that BFP before you get to April too.

Welcome secarter. I hope you don't have to wait too long for your cycles to return to normal!

secarter · 27/02/2017 22:47

Thanks Kathrino. Think I'm starting my withdrawal bleed so at least things are getting moving.

Anyone got any tips for apps to start tracking my cycle when it happens? Heard Ovio is good and my friend swears by Clue but am a little bit lost.

Kathrino · 27/02/2017 22:55

Secarter, I like Clue but that's because I don't really track anything other than AF and the very occasional OPK. I used it for years before we started TTC so I would remember when AF was due. I did try Ovia for a while but didn't like it and found it encouraged the crazies by over analysing everything. If you're going to temp etc then I think Fertility Friend (is that the name?) is used quite a lot but I'm too lazy to do anything like that!

sk1pper · 27/02/2017 23:08

I actually really like Clue. I like that you can pick a stat and see where it has occurred on previous cycles really really easily. For temping I'd go FF too. Also another Ovia hater.

secarter · 28/02/2017 06:33

Thank you, that's really helpful. I'd downloaded ue so just going to stick with that for the moment.

harrietm87 · 28/02/2017 08:51

Hi secarter - welcome!

Going against the crowd here but I like ovia - it can export all your data to a spreadsheet if you've been tracking for a while and want to get super geeky with it. Maybe clue can do that too though?

I've just had my third day of flashing smiley on clearblue - last cycle only had 2 days then peak. Though haven't had EWCM yet so it makes sense. Glad I didn't force DH to HS last night cos neither of us were really up for it and had HS fri, sat and sun just for fun so were knackered!

Londonjam · 28/02/2017 09:18

Thanks skipper I'm really looking forward to the making it ours bit. We just need to exchange contracts this week then we can actually start realistically planning that bit. DH and I have promised ourselves a glass of champagne in our first evening in our first home we own - before anything gets moved in. So glad that you are feeling calmer and happier in yourself. I really hope it's not much longer at all for you. With any luck we will love be jointing the grads thread together soon!

Thanks kath I hope they offer us it, I don't relish the thought but just want to feel that we are doing something. This week is dragging...

10 DPO today and thought about testing but couldn't be bothered and knew BFN would just put me in a mard to start the day. No one needs that!

kwick · 28/02/2017 10:25

Sorry ladies not up to my usual posting standards. I am finding it all a bit overwhelming. Back to work tomorrow too.
Did I miss loads of BFPs?

sk1pper · 28/02/2017 10:59

Kwwwwwick - if I was there I'd give you a mahoosive hug. And don't apologise, take all the time you need. We'll always be here for you when you're ready to come back. Xx

Londonjam · 28/02/2017 11:17

Huge hug from me too kwick ❤️🌸🌺

Tonks got her BFP which is fab but we are due a whole crop more. I have high hopes for March.

Kathrino · 28/02/2017 11:44

Adding to the pile of hugs kwick, we're here if you need us. Thinking of you lots Flowers

kwick · 28/02/2017 12:40

Congratulations tonks!!! StarStarStar

🤞🏼 for everyone on TWW or in DTD mode Grin

SmittenPears · 28/02/2017 14:43

Massive hugs kwick!

Binkybunny13 · 28/02/2017 18:42

Hellllloooooo kwick! 👋 We miss you, hope you're doing as well as can be expected x

CarleyColie · 28/02/2017 19:02

There seems to be a lot of it going about just now Alexia! Not quite managed to get rid of my cold yet but definitely getting there thankfully!

Sorry AF got you quiet & Gaelach Flowers

Jam could you pop me down for the 13th please :) this is turning into a long cycle! So exciting about your new home, bet you can't wait to get things finalised and get in there! Wishing you the best of luck for Thursday too.

Ooh hope your spotting is a good sign kaydee!

Tonks87 · 28/02/2017 19:33

Thanks Kwick. I hope you're doing as well as is possible.

I had a bit of a panic this morning. I took another FRER and the line looks exactly the same as it did on Sunday morning. I was hoping it would have gotten a bit darker. That along with not really having any symptoms has gotten me worried. I do keep telling myself it's early days - AF was only due today.

Fx to any upcoming testers - who have we got coming up?

kwick · 28/02/2017 19:56

tonks the important thing is that you have a line; probs a bit early for any symptoms.

harrietm87 · 28/02/2017 21:10

tonks I've had two early miscarriages now - first one had zero symptoms of any kind, second one (recent) I had the lot from 7dpo - sore boobs, implantation bleeding and cramps, nausea, nosebleeds. So from my limited experience symptoms this early doesn't mean anything one way or the other! Just relax and enjoy it Smile

Londonjam · 28/02/2017 21:14

What kwick said - there is a line, you are pregnant. I'm sure it must be so nerve wracking but the odds are in your favour tonks

Sure Carley I've added you on

Why the hell am I watching The Replacement... 🙄 it's annoying me already

Kaydee2017 · 28/02/2017 21:24

Hope you're doing ok Tonks! As jam said, odds are in your favour Smile

ViSovari · 28/02/2017 21:45

So I'm having a weird period....has anyone every suffered from lack of...erm flow? TMI but there's blood inside, but it's not actually coming out of me like it usually does. Have I jumped the gun on CD1 and I'm having some spotting? Also no period cramps (yet) this is new for me so I have no bloody idea what's going on!

AlexiaB · 28/02/2017 22:06

Will reply properly later but just jumping on to say that sounds like a break through bleed after a long anovulatory cycle Vi. It's very normal for it to not be full flow but it's the equivalent of 'AF'. Have a google.

Tonks I wouldn't stress as the lines aren't getting any lighter and dye levels can differ greatly from test to test. Do a digi if you want to see the word 'pregnant' and then I'd say put the tests away! Only repeat betas can really tell you what's going on (not typically offered here) so it's just a waiting game now until the first scan (or early scan) but as long as you aren't cramping majorly and bleeding all is well Smile

So sorry about AF Gaelach FlowersFlowers

Exciting news on the flat Jam! Truly hope AF doesn't arrive but perfect timing for the fertility appointment. Don't leave without answers/a plan.

Thank you Inspector, that's lovely of you to say. I'm very jealous of your holiday, I hope you have the most amazing time!

I missed you kwick!!!!!! Loads of hugs to you. Peaches got her long awaited BFP too!

Pleased you're feeling calmer and more relaxed about things skipper. It is so overwhelming at times. Lovely to have you back.

Welcome secarter. I only use FF and even if I wasn't charting BBT I'd still use it as I prefer their charts for data entry and from a visual perspective. Much clearer, mkre scientific and no flowery bulls**t.

How's the spotting Kaydee? Seems too early to be implantation spotting I think. Sounds more like the result of rough sex or even late O bleeding. Hope you're okay Flowers

I'm trying to have a more relaxed tww so I'm not temping since I got crosshairs. I've had back to back triphasic charts and it's been nothing but heartbreak so theirs no point other than to confirm O or maybe confirm AF is on route much later in the tww.

My best friend (who has an 18 month old, announced just before we started ttc) told me today that she started miscarrying yesterday at 9 weeks Sad I'm so sad for her but it's also so odd to have such conflicting emotions. It scared me so much to think that in a few weeks time she could have been showing me a 12 week scan and here I am STILL ttc baby #1 and that would have been her 3rd. Obviously I wish this never happened to her at all but from a selfish point of view it upset/shocked me and made me feel down all day. I know she wasn't ttc either, just NTNP. My friend from FF is measuring 5 days behind too so I'm worried about her and another friend just had her second ectopic in 6 months and has now lost both her tubes. I need to beess self-absorbed as I know things could be a lot worse for me #perspective.

Love to all and hope you're all doing well. Hoping for lots more BFPs soon! X
