Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

pug, hep, alexia (and anyone else who has suffered an early loss), when did your cycles come back and did you start trying again straight away?

I saw a lovely doctor this morning (not my usual GP thank goodness). He was v reassuring, said it was totally normal, that I've had 2 in a row doesn't mean anything and it's only a concern when 3 in a row (fingers crossed won't get to that point). He advised waiting to get my period before trying again, but I've googled and apparently that's so they can date a subsequent pregnancy better and there's no medical reason to wait - is this true? Did you wait or just get stuck in again?

Flashinthepan · 14/02/2017 11:58

Harriet my friend, who is a midwife, told me once that they only advise it for dating, and that lots of people are more fertile in the month or so after an MC (not trying to give false hope btw). Glad the doctor was reassuring. I know my situation was slightly different as I had to wait 3 months and ended up waiting 8 months, but I would say if you feel able to/want to try again straight away then do, if not, then don't feel bad about giving yourself some time.

Also, this is gross, but I have so much EWCM today, LSFX that Valentine's will be a lucky date for TTC!

HepKestrel · 14/02/2017 11:58

harriet

4 weeks after my ERPC, i had a tiny amount of spotting. 8 weeks after my EPRC I had a full very heavy period. I have been back to a regular 29-31 days after.

For an EPRC I was told not to try till my first AF, or at least till 4-6 weeks. I waited 4 weeks.

For EPRC, the reason for the delay is a slight increase in infection, but most of the delay is due to the dating issue.

If you had a natural miscarriage, then yes my understanding is that it is for dating purposes.

However. My dates were completely screwed up. My last AF was in May, had bfns all the way into July and I was dated in august as 5 or 6 weeks. Now, perhaps if I had been opk-ing or temping and new when I ovulated, things would have been easier, but not knowing your dates does add an extra layer of stress.

not sure I have helped you here !

also, it might not be easy to identify when you ovulate post mc. this is because it may take a week or so for your hormones to reduce.

Kathrino · 14/02/2017 12:02

I am clearly not the voice of experience here harriet, but my understanding was that it was more around dating than anything. I'm glad you saw a nice doctor this morning and he was able to provide some reassurance. Keeping everything crossed for you and I hope you're doing okay Flowers

Good work on the EWCM Flash, gotta love a Valentine's baby!

AlexiaB · 14/02/2017 12:19

Harriet my situation is a little weird. After my 9/10 week natural mc I wanted to try again asap but I didn't ovulate for months! I had a 46 day anovulatory cycle with breakthrough bleed and then I had another long anovulatory cycle with breakthrough bleed. I then introduced fertility drugs to induce ovulation out of sheer desperation! I've since had 2 CPs and just carried on as normal by counting bleeding as CD1 and taking my fertility meds at my usual time. I think there's absolutely no reason you can't keep trying (if you want to). Hopefully your cycle will be back to normal this cycle xx

Missy are you sleeping well and temping at the same time daily? I'm best at reading Fertility Friend charts so I can't really comment on your chart, sorry.

Flash LSFX! Go get that egg!

AlexiaB · 14/02/2017 12:26

Had another look Missy, sorry I looked this morning when I was half asleep. Your temps during af are erratic but this is normal for a lot of people. It might be easier to start temping once af has finished? I can't see your opk or CM data so that makes it hard to interpret. Just keep at it, try to get the most reliable temps you can and it should become clearer over the next few days.

Tonks87 · 14/02/2017 12:55

Missy other than higher temps your chart doesn't look that dissimilar to mine (my temps are always on the low side, I'm constantly cold. My acupuncturist says I'm very yin). I think I'll ovulate today so will hopefully see a rise tomorrow morning.

MissyJones80s · 14/02/2017 13:40

Thanks alexia sleep a bit erratic DH has to get up early most days to conference call Australia so some days I do it at 5 others at 6 but try to do it whenever I wake because there is never enough time to sleep again and then do it.
On a couple of days I've stayed over at my parents (house like a sauna in comparison to my Victorian property) and that correlates with the peak at CD9. Erratic during AF and just after due to raging cold I'm guessing.
Not doe CM or OPKs this month need to start at least CM!

passmethewine123 · 14/02/2017 13:47

Thanks for new thread Alexia

Sorry to everybody who is having a hard time, thinking of you all 😞

I'm having major ups and down with my temping. Had what looked like a clear ovulation on CD16 with three decent higher temps after, then 4DPO temps took a complete nose dive and went down by almost a full degree to the lowest temp that I've charted so far 😩 was hoping it was just an anomaly but today (5dpo) it is still low. Don't really know what this means other than an anovulatory cycle which is disappointing.

MissyJones80s · 14/02/2017 13:52

tonks thanks for sharing your chart glad not just me with erratic! Seems to have settled last few days however...maybe next month will be a bit neater now I'm into the swing of remembering to do it. Oh and hopefully I won't have a bad cold confusing matters as well.

MouseLove · 14/02/2017 16:00

Since I'm not actually TTC at the moment I just wanted to mark my place and hopefully I'll be back soon. Happy Valentine's Day sweet lovelies. Remember this is one less valentines to cuddling your babies.

And here's a cake... x

Flashinthepan · 14/02/2017 16:12

Oh god Mouse with that cake, will you be my Valentine?!

It's really nice to hear from you, hope you're holding up ok. Flowers

Kathrino · 14/02/2017 16:18

I've been trying so hard all afternoon to resist the siren song of cake. I think that may just have pushed me over the edge mouse...it looks mouthwatering.

HepKestrel · 14/02/2017 16:24
Pyjamas81 · 14/02/2017 16:29

🤤 drool icon!

Starfish83 · 14/02/2017 16:30

Hi lovely women,

Just checking in to say hello on the new thread.

Mouse, do hope that you're doing OK. That cake though!!! DH and I have taken to staying in on Valentine's Day (evening) - we bought an M&S Dine In meal (although I notice that even that has been ramped up from £10 to £20)! However, am looking forward to it...we both fancied the 'healthier' dessert option of strawberries, but I'm planning on making a white chocolate fondue to go with them! 🙊

Harriet, glad to see that you went home from work yesterday. Take care and thinking of you. Flowers

xx

sk1pper · 14/02/2017 16:32

CAKE

macsworth · 14/02/2017 17:29

mouse that cake 😍

Following on from last thread, sounds like I need to get myself a mooncup! Feel a bit out of the loop with my old fashioned tampons!

So the relaxed approach is a funny old thing! Because my cycles vary, I work out my AF date based on when I Ov because LP always seems to be the same. This means I have no idea when shes due and whether I should be looking out for anything.
To start with this was really refreshing because I was just getting on with life as normal. But I've had constant boob pain the last 2 days and it's like a constant reminder! I spend the whole day telling myself, "move on...there is nothing you can do until 22nd".
In short, I think I'm going slightly mad.

Anyway, in the spirit pretending everything is normal and relaxed, DH and I are having steak and a glass of red! 🍷

sk1pper · 14/02/2017 17:59

Anyone heard from Kwick? I hope she is okay...

88claire · 14/02/2017 18:10

Macsworth

My cycles are so messed up I'm having to go by a two week average after ovulation.

I wish my body would behave itself!!

AlexiaB · 14/02/2017 18:12

Missy ah yes, that would be why it's quite erratic then. Just keep BD regularly and especially when you see ewcm Smile

OMG Mouse my mouth is watering! That's the most beautiful cake I've ever seen. You're soo talented Cake Grin

macs after trying softcups successfully I really need to get a mooncup too! They're life-changing! Keeping my fx for you Smile

Haven't heard from kwick Skip but I keep thinking about her Flowers It's so sad.

I'm away from my DH today Sad He had to go home and is picking me up Wednesday night. Miss him so much! Hope you're all having a lovely Valentine's day with your DH's/OH's xx

Glad to hear you saw a more understanding doctor Harriet. Hope you can get straight back on and that your body is ready now.

Flash EWCM is magical ! Not gross! Good luck catching egg

Happy valentines mouse 💕

Hurrah for steak and red wine macs we are going out for tapas and vino tonight Wine

I had a pm from kwick at the weekend but not since. Am thinking of her much too 🌷

Pugmummy87 · 14/02/2017 18:31

Thanks for new thread alexia. The picture had me proper lol (I would probably do this with my pugs).

Pug
Cycle whatever (18?)
Early miscarriage at 4+6 in Jan.
Have first fertility clinic appt in April.
CD 34, approx 8dpo.

Harriet glad you saw a nice GP today.
I started ttc right away, the lure of the supposed 'increased fertility' immediately after a miscarriage was enough for me. I also felt it was early enough that trying straight away wouldn't be an issue.
Having said that, this appears to be a longer cycle as I only ovulated 8 days ago so I think it took a little while for the hcg to completely clear out of my system.
Hope you are coping OK.

I hope Kwick is OK too.

Happy Valentine's all. Anyone doing anything tonight? We don't really do valentines as our anniversary is on the 19th. We are scoffing down are domino's though Blush

Kathrino · 14/02/2017 19:06

We're off out for pizza (and maybe a sneaky glass of fizz) tonight. Just waiting for DH to get home from work, I'm bloody starving!

Happy Valentines lovelies!

sk1pper · 14/02/2017 19:10

OH and I normally agree to not buy presents but this year he broke the pact.

True love is buying your wife to be the ninja video game they wanted. Screw Flowers and Cake.
