Thread 26. TTC #1 - Calm as a hysterical cucumber

AlexiaB · 13/02/2017 22:34

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Sorry about AF quiet and gaelach. Really feel for you both. Gaelach, you don't need to apologise here at all, I'm sure we can all sympathise with how you're feeling Flowers

sk1pper · 26/02/2017 16:15

Aww thanks guys 😭

Sorry about AF Gaelach and Quiet Flowers - you will get no comfort from this but it's still early days for you. Hopefully not many cycles left until your beautiful BFPS.

InspectorPenguin · 26/02/2017 16:20

Congratulations Tonks! Wonderful news and lovely to see a BFP to cheer things up. Hope everything goes beautifully smooth for you Star

So sorry to read all the relationship problems on here and hope everyone's in a better space now. Jam how are you and DH? Have you been able to have a good weekend after everything? I really felt sorry for you reading your posts - what a nightmare man-child your DH has been about things.

Alexia I'm glad to see things have calmed down at your end. Your DH sounds extremely patient and caring and perfectly cut out for fatherhood. I hope you both get there very soon Flowers

Lovely to see you back Sk1pper. Glad the pain has subsided but get thee to the chemist to pick up some proper pain relief soon! Hope you have a speedy TWW.

I have decided to give this reflexology thing a go this month too - hoping to be able to get an appointment for next Saturday although then it'll be 3 weeks until I can have another one because of the holiday so maybe it's not worth it yet.... Hmmm.

Enjoy the rest of your Sundays everyone.

InspectorPenguin · 26/02/2017 16:22

Flowers Gaelach and Quiet. Moan on here all you like - we are hardened to it and no amount of swearing is too much.

QuietTime · 26/02/2017 17:15

Thanks guys; think am feeling disproportionately mopey given the early stage of TTC due to family members having problems - nagging anxiety that will have similar issues...still, no point worrying without a definite reason - one step (month) at a time. And now I'll get the drinks in Wine

KerryLeanne84 · 26/02/2017 17:18

Thanks so much everyone for the ovulation test advice! I may give up on them and just rely on the EWCM - although the clearblue ones always gave a result for me.

Massive jumping up and down hugs for you Tonks - you must be SO excited!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing sunday and isn't out in this wind. Brew

Londonjam · 26/02/2017 17:26

Sorry macs I admire your pragmatic and relaxed approach and will be taking a leaf out your book next week when AF no doubt shows up. DH doesn't really talk to anyone about it. There a couple of his close friends who know we are trying and it's taking a while but I don't think they really talk about it. He certainly wouldn't mention low morphology to anyone. It's a lot to bottle up but I just don't think he would be willing to share that with anyone.

Hi Carley EOD is the way forward I think. Let me know your date if you want to go on the list - no pressure though if you don't of course

Harriet fuckit weekend sounds fun! Hope you enjoyed it. I'm 8 DPO today. Been quite anxious and emotional, lots of cm, boobs a bit sore - nothing out of the ordinary. Just thinking more about the fertility appointment than the TWW right now.

Hey skipper glad to hear ovulation pain didn't last too long - hope that's a sign it's improving and getting easier.

Hurrah tonks 😃

Sorry about AF quiettime , hope you enjoyed your holiday

Sorry gaelach it's so so shit 😞 I've thought that about a few weddings and it's rubbish. Take care of yourself 🌸🌼

Hello penguin thanks for your support, DH has bucked his ideas up a lot on the flat, thankgoodness. He's away with work again and I have that familiar frustration of knowing he's spent the afternoon watching rugby with a few beers this afternoon, is going out for steak and red wine and then onto a "few bars". He said I promise to have a few soft drinks. What he should be saying is I will only have one or two alcoholic drinks!! I'm not getting through to him so I'm going to try not to stress about it. I really, really hope the consultant we see this week is anti booze. Hope you enjoy the reflexology, let us know how you get on.

Pugmummy87 · 26/02/2017 20:47

Hi all. Went a bit awol. AF started during our weekend away last week and it was a mix of relief/sadness that I'm still on this sodding ttc ride.

Congrats Tonks.

Sorry to those who AF has arrived.

Hope everyone is doing OK.

Pyjamas81 · 26/02/2017 21:20

Just back from weekend away with DH so haven't had chance to catch up properly, but congratulations tonks!!!!! So chuffed for you and great to see a BFP 😁😁😁

Sorry AF got you gaelach and quiet 💐💐

And lovely to see you skipper - glad to hear it didn't last as long this time. Fx for a relaxed TWW and a BFP at the end 🤞

Had a lovely weekend with DH - still no drinking, which is a first for us on a weekend away! Was great time together, and the hotel GOS was fun 😉 we're going to have a little break from EOD now as I've never ever ov'd this late so must have happened by now. Next time will be on Weds, then every couple of days until AF, to keep DH on track.

MissyJones80s · 26/02/2017 23:11

Sorry about AF gaelach and quiet she's a bitch fx for all us current AF-ers...

pjs your weekend sounds lovely nothing nicer than a chilled out hotel GOS

ViSovari · 26/02/2017 23:52

Congratulations tonks! Thats so exciting!

I hope you get a supportive no booze consultant london! I don't think there's anyone that could come between my dh and his red wine and i wouldn't even know how to broach that subject if I have to!

So AF arrived today. I hope this is not too insensitive as almost everyone on here doesn't want her to show up but I'm
So bloody glad she is here! Going to call the doctors for the rest of my results tomorrow. I'm going to start temping again tomorrow, but I don't see the point :( I don't have a regular cycle and it makes me want to give up before I've even started.

I've had a research into metforming from
alexias advice. I'm thinking this is something I could try. I'm not massively overweight with a BMI of 25 but I CANNOT lose weight. EVER! Even though I go to the gym and eat healthy I can't get the scales to budge so maybe it would help with that.

Got a crazy day at work tomorrow and I cannot cope with the thought of period pain which is debilitating some months. I'm hoping that this is one of those months where I get it on CD2 FX!!!

SmittenPears · 27/02/2017 01:46

So sorry about AF gaelach and quiet 💐💐

Glad you're relieved, ViSovari! Hope you will get some answers soon.

About halfway through the TWW here, and trying failing not to symptom spot.

Kaydee2017 · 27/02/2017 07:14

Morning ladies Brew just catching up after a busy weekend!

Glad AF did appear Vi & you're onto a new cycle Grin

Excellent GOSing Kerry!! LSFX! & for you too smitten!

Sorry again flash Flowers

So pleased for you Tonks Grin

Sorry AF got you mac Flowers relaxed approach seems the way to go, fx for you & Kathrino!

That is some dedication to HS carley! Star

Yay for lots of GOS this week Harriet!!

Fx for you skipper Smile

CD19 here & must be firmly in TWW now!! Not tracking Ov but think it was CD15 last cycle, and maybe CD14 this cycle, just from feeling a few pains in the relevant areas, but no certainties with that! Thought AF was making a super early appearance yesterday - had spotting yesterday evening with some cramps too, so was expecting to wake up to it this morning but nothing, maybe the odd cramp if I really thought about it (although there may have been some vigorous GOSing on Saturday night, so might have been that Blush). Anyway, Ovia says test in 10 days, but aiming to try & wait until Sat 11th!

Londonjam · 27/02/2017 08:18

Sorry pug that's rubbish timing. Hope you're alright

Glad you enjoyed your mini break pyjamas plus no booze - that's impressive

Hope your period pain isn't too bad vi

Fx smitten and kaydee

8 DPO today and got all the usual crap - sore boobs, shitty mood, anxious, vivid dreams, blah blah. We've got our first appointment at the hospital on Thursday; there's part of me that wants AF to come early so I can go in emotionally charged and starting yet another cycle! 😣

Kaydee2017 · 27/02/2017 16:30

Brown spotting on and off all day now Hmm

sk1pper · 27/02/2017 16:36

I hope it's implantation Kaydee! 😁

SmittenPears · 27/02/2017 16:53

How are you feeling today, Tonks? Pretty pleased, I hope. :) We're so happy for you!

Tonks87 · 27/02/2017 18:33

I'm feeling good thanks Smitten. AF would be due tomorrow so fx nothing happens. Other than needing to wee every 5 minutes and being a bit more tired than usual I don't feel any different (obviously other than super happy!). We've decided to tell our parents this weekend.

Fx the spotting is implantation Kaydee!

Good luck for Thursday Jam. FX it will be a case of Sods Law and you won't even need the appointment.

Londonjam · 27/02/2017 18:38

Thanks tonks I'm pretty sure it'll be needed unfortunately but I might POAS this week to make sure. Nothing like BFNs to get you ready for a fertility appointment. Glad to hear all good with you.

Fx kaydee ! Is that unusual for you?

sk1pper · 27/02/2017 20:18

I hope you feel better after your appointment Jam, it's a relief getting to that stage. It will be interesting to find out what you next step is, I wonder if they will offer you the HSG just to make sure your side of things is definitely a-ok.

Londonjam · 27/02/2017 20:30

I'm really hoping they will do something. I'll be really interested to hear what they have to say about morphology. If they say it's not a problem I might have difficulty not disagreeing!

Where are you at with your tests etc?

Kaydee2017 · 27/02/2017 20:58

Erm, I didn't have spotting the last 2 cycles, so it's a new one in me! Fairly sure it's the GOSing from Saturday night, will not be doing that again!!

GL at your appointment jam! Hope they're helpful & start things moving for you Smile

Everything crossed for you Tonks!!

secarter · 27/02/2017 21:02

Hi all,
I've been lurking on this board for the past few days and thought I'd finally post. I'm 27 and stopped taking my pill to TTC on Friday. I know it will take a while for my periods to return to normal so I have no idea if/when I'm ovulating. My DH has been really keen on me stopping drinking but have just been reading up on the effect of alcohol on male swimmers, there goes his drinking plans Wink. Just thought I would introduce myself!

Kathrino · 27/02/2017 21:02

Jam, I'm sure I'll say it again but good luck for Thurs. I hope there are some concrete next steps for you (but most of all I'm hoping that you don't need the appointment at all!). Will be interested to see how the advice you get compares to what the consultant told us as I wonder how much she was trying to upsell us on IVF.

I hope the spotting is a good sign Kaydee!

sk1pper · 27/02/2017 21:09

Kaydee - brown blood is old blood so don't be worried about it. I have bled after sex before, only a bit but it's normally red. All women are different though.

Jam - well they will have to address your issue, I would assume your next course of action would be IVF as they'd want to select the best sperm. But they might do a HSG anyway. Seems to be the final test. I've got to wait around till end of April now, I get the full results of the HSG and my IVF referral then. Hoping I get lucky before then.

I am feeling incredibly relaxed right now about TTC, the most I've felt in many months. My life is busy at the moment and in my spare time I'm absorbing myself in my favourite tv and yoga. Tonight I've just been trawling through YouTube watching funny videos, video game streams and convention panels...it's a weird thing to mention I know but normally I'd be googling random symptoms and feeling sorry for myself.
