Thread 23. TTC #1 - New Year, New Opportunities. Let's keep those BFPs rolling in!

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

Happy New Year! It's 2017 and it's OUR year Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

That's how I've always felt about milk - a very odd concept for me! Perhaps almond milk fortified with calcium does the job just as well...

Your chart is looking good alexia!

Must not look a baby stuff on Pinterest... must not... Who am I kidding - logging in now...

kwick · 03/01/2017 13:28

pyjamas are you going for a hycosy (dye through tubes, scan to check all ok) - that is about £550 private

kwick · 03/01/2017 13:31

Went to GP - have fit note saying I should avoid travel for next 3 months due to a medical condition. Will tell my main boss on Friday...

sk1pper · 03/01/2017 13:34

Milk is one of the worst things to drink if you suffer from endometriosis - if it's homogenised. And most brands are. I tend to use coconut milk for everything now, it's a good substitute for cereal and tastes okay in tea too. There are homogenised mills available but they are rare and super expensive.

AlexiaB · 03/01/2017 13:42

kwick that's fantastic, very pleased for you!

pyjamas I know Create Fertility do a HyCosy for £400.

Hey everyone

music here
31, ttc#1
Currently 7+5, conceived on cycle 5/6

Sorry I have been awol, I have been trying to take a break from MN. I basically became a crazy woman over the Christmas break obsessing over miscarriage stats and my lack of symptoms. I am happy to say though that we had an early scan this morning and there really is a little bean in my tummy, with a heartbeat! Measuring 16mm, so pretty tiny but right size for my dates. I am beyond relieved although not getting ahead of myself just yet. Also had booking in appointment with midwife today which was lovely Smile

I will begin a proper catch up on old posts soon!

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 13:54

Thanks for the info ladies! Not sure if it's called HyCosy - she just said X-ray, but maybe that's what it is!

kwick · 03/01/2017 13:58

music that is such good news 😘

Londonjam · 03/01/2017 13:58

alexia I thought that about this week - reckon there will definitely be a BFP or two. I don't think one of them will be me.

Glad everything is going well music, those early weeks must be really nervewracking. Hope you can relax a bit now.

Pyjamas that sounds like a hycosy. A few ladies have had them on this thread, and a few have been quickly followed by a BFP...

Hippychic79 · 03/01/2017 13:59

Hi ladies - just jumping this wonderful new thread .... thank you Alexia xxx

Firstly good luck Sk1pper xxxxx

My stats -
TTC #1
Age 38 (in days time)
Af due 16/01
Cycle 3/4 ... oh works loads so don't want to count the cycles where we don't dtd in fertile week and if the truth be told I've only been really trying for 2 months (using opks)... naively thought I would conceive the minute I wanted to ... what a dumb ass xxxxzx

AlexiaB · 03/01/2017 14:02

Huge congrats Music Smile I had been thinking about you. So pleased all is going as planned and baby bean is matching up with O day Star Hope you can start to relax and enjoy it a bit more now.

Yay music, glad all went well at the scan today. Must have been wonderful to see that little bean on screen!

Kwick, glad you managed to get your fit note sorted. Hopefully you can take it nice and easy for the next few months now :)

Oh dear Alexia, I was looking at prams online yesterday (although not for me I hasten to add!) I fear now I'm going to be plagued by adverts too...

MissyJones83 · 03/01/2017 14:13

Yay music lovely news

MissyJones83 · 03/01/2017 14:15

Glad you have a travel related note for work kwik takes the pressure off a bit

FXSkip · 03/01/2017 14:17

music that's amazing!! Did you get a pic? Mine is next weekend and I can't shake the feeling there will be something wrong!

bluebird3 · 03/01/2017 14:17

Hi everyone! Took ages to catch up...This thread is off to a busy start.

Bluebird
Age 30
Ttc 1
Cycle...23?
Af due 6/1

Starting IVF in Feb so this is the last month for a miracle natural conception (boobs already super sore... So not holding my breath).

Oh well...onwards and upwards.

Let us know how your appt goes skip Flowers

Londonjam · 03/01/2017 14:27

Great news on your travel note kwick, hope your manager is understanding about it.

We've got our first appointment at the hospital - its not until 2 March which is really frustrating. I might look into doing a hycosy privately.

FXSkip · 03/01/2017 14:47

Thanks bluebird - yes I will! I have you down as being on cycle 23, fx for you for this weekend though.

Can't tell if morning sickness or dodgy soup for lunch....

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 14:54

Just looked it up and it seems it's an HSG when X-ray is used and HyCosy when ultrasound is used - same process with due, just different ways of seeing results (I think) has anyone had an HSG?

Fingers crossed for you bluebird - a bfp for you now would be amazing!

Congrats music!

Hippy - we're due to test around the same time (I'm on 14th if no af). Hope this TWW doesn't drive us too batshit.

Redpony1 · 03/01/2017 14:55

Newbie to the thread here!!

Redpony
Age: 32
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1 (?)
DPO: No idea - 28 days off Cerelle and not kept track of anything yet...

Awaiting first AF Sad

Hippychic79 · 03/01/2017 15:05

Glad you got your sick note kwick xxx

Pyjamas- I got my positive lh surge yesterday (cd14) but haven't dtd since cd9 as both me and oh have had stinking colds ... hoping to dtd tonight and praying that it's not too late ... but basically not holding out much hope for this month ... I figure if you dtd within the crucial fw then you can't really count it as a try ... I know I sound like I'm making excuses... but I don't want people to be put off by my age stats .... problem I have is oh works shit loads and doesn't want to properly start trying till may .... it's driving me nuts ...
good luck all xxxx

MissyJones83 · 03/01/2017 15:13

Hi bluebird hoping for that miracle for you.

Still no AF here but poss not due till tomorrow who knows!!! Not testing again till Sat if AF no show by then which I doubt very much xx

MissyJones83 · 03/01/2017 15:20

Anyone had the fertility MOT at Create? Can't work out from website how much it would be and if worth the money?
